Congratulations to you as well.

I am seriously happy for everyone of my fellow September filers who finally made it through. However, at the same time I cannot help it but to sit here and cry and wonder if it will ever happen for us.:crying:

Who else from our original group is still waiting?

I just got a letter from Senator Cardin's office saying that our petition is being expedited and we should hear something "shortly". Not sure what "shortly" means, but it has to be some wort of progress from nothing..

I don't want to be the wet blanket but when my expedite request was denied, the reason given to me was that my case was already with an adjudicator and I should hear something "soon". That was 16 days ago when I placed the request and 11 days ago when it was denied. I still have not heard a peep.:crying:

This past week I sent letters to anyone and everyone within the government who might be able to help me. I have done everything I can legally do. All that is left now sit back and continue to loose my mind.

Theres no chance than an expedite request would slow down your processing if its denied, is there?

I am worried the same thing since my expedite request was denied.

In the denial email they told me that my case had been assigned to an adjudicator and I should hear something "soon".

That was on March 16. Since then nothing. I am left wondering what "soon" means.

I do not know if I should have any hope that they mentioned that my file is with an adjudicator and I should hear an answer shortly or not. I just simply cannot bring myself to trust these clowns.

my prayers are with anyone on this forum with loved ones in any of the effected regions today. God bless you.

I talked to my fiancee this morning before I went to work. I am very relieved to hear that she and her family are fine. Her city was not damaged by the earthquake. But an 8.9 earthquake is horribly massive. It is the 7th largest earthquake ever recorded. Not to mention the 10 meter tsunami that followed it.

As soon as I got home I place an expedite request. I hope that they do not deny it because her city was not badly damaged.

I received a written reply from one of my senator's offices yesterday stating what I was told about the having 30 more days to assign plus another 30 days to review. I just faxed letters to my two senator's and congressman's office with a summary of what some other people have used, stating the online information about cases being processed out of order, the current national trends, and the current USCIS national processing time. I also referenced the section with the USCIS director denied a backlog existing and stated that I believe a backlog does exist. I closed by saying that I'm requesting their assitance (or addiitonal assistance from the one office who has helped so far) with addressing the backlog and working on getting my petition and others who are past the 5 months to be processed. Will post if I hear any response.

This reply sounds pretty much like what they have been telling me. So I will wait for the 6 month mark and then call again for a service request and contact my congressman and senators.

I am afraid that when I call at 6 months, they will then tell me to wait until 7 months and still not let me place a service request. If that happens I will totally loose it :girlwerewolf2xn:

Just FYI for other September people:
Feb. 24th - my first call to USCIS customer service last week - was told I can't do the service request until 30 days from 5 months mark

Today, March 1st - second call to USCIS customer service, the rep. told me Vermont is working on August 21st petitions, but not a word about "30 days" grace period. I said it's not true, and I know September people already processed, then I asked to be transferred to Tier 2. She repeated that Vermont center is working on August 21, so she can't put in a service request. and I replied she's been misinformed, since some later applications have been processed in Vermont. She then said, she'll transfer me to another customer service rep., and I agreed.
She actually transferred me to an officer, who sighed, asked what service center I was at, sighed again. Then she said that yes, technically (another sigh)I'm past the timeframe, so she'll take my service request. She verified my address, gave me the confirmation number, and told that I should receive a letter with details on my inquiry within 10 days.
To their credit, I should say that everyone I spoke to in USCIS phone service at least were pleasant and polite. I hope I never have to bother them again :P

I tried this approach after reading your post and was still not allowed to place a service request. The tier 2 officer told me that the computer system would not allow it until 30 days after the 5 month window has past. Total BS :girlwerewolf2xn::diablo:

Congrads to all of you who have recently been approved.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2010 K1 Filers

I just got off the phone with the 800 number for USCIS. The Tier 1 person said when she was looking up my case that it showed it was for a I-130 instead of I-129F so she transferred me. I spoke with an officer (I'm guessing this is Tier 2?) who said it is showing correctly as a I-129F. The officer said they are currently working on 8/21/10 and that the website processing time frame is incorrect and hasn't been updated. She said the processing time is 7 months. She said I'm not out of my processing time frame but initiated a service request for me anyway. She said I have 27 more days to wait for an officer to be assigned my case plus and additional 30 days for teh officer to review my case and make a decision.

My 5 months was 2/20/11. On 2/18/11 I faxed released and a letter to both Senators' offices and my Congressman's office. Last Friday I called my Congressman's office. The person there was not very sympathetic and basically stated their office hasn't done anything and won't do anything for a while. One Senator's office has already sent a letter to USCIS asking about the status of my case and will let me know when they hear a response. I called my other Senator's office today and was told that it's in the process of being assigned to a case worker and that should happen this week.

I am glad that you were able to place a service request , but how is that some people are able to place a service request while others like me are basically told to go f%#k yourself.

BTW has anyone heard from AL about his personal war against the USCIS? He was saying that today was when he was going to start calling.

I called for the first time today. I tried to place a service request but was of course denied. At least the guy was somewhat polite. He told me that the current processing date for Vermont is August 21, 2010. So they are 26 days behind. He then told me to wait until March 15 to call back. I will call back next week to see if they will try to brush me off again, if they do then I will request to talk to the second tier people.

At least there has been a little activity from Vermont today. But at this point, I really do not expect anything from these government hacks.

As you can see from the trend charts on uscis web site http://dashboard.usc...e=6&charttype=1 , especially the national trend, they are barely keeping up with the received I-129F applications. That tells me that the workers have been pulled to work on other forms. They need to get their completions way up above the receipts, if we are to receive our NOA2 within the five months. :crying:

It is very depressing to see only 1 to 3 approvals per week over the last 4 weeks. They must be focused elsewhere (if focused on anything at all). I have a coworker who has been waiting on his renewed work visa since May. It is only supposed to take them 60 days to renew a work visa. So he walks around the office complaining about the VSC as well.

On a much happier note. I am leaving for Japan in 6 hours to spend a week with my other half. I can't wait.

Maybe... maybe not till November though. That's what I'm realistically thinking. Although I'm kind of nervous that I'm going to get an RFE because I didn't realize that you had to sign every supplement. I didn't sign them, and I didn't have my Fiance sign his either. I'm going to be super mad if I do get an RFE about it because first of all, I should have known better, and second of all, if it's an attachment to a form that's already signed the signature should be implied! So we'll see..

I want to see more udpates!! VSC had that weird mass touch and then a few NOA2's and now.. nothing? I'm greedy I want more!! More, more, more!!!

I think I just wet myself. I did not sign the supplement sheets either. I also assumed that since they were attached to the I-129F form, that the signature on the form also covers its attachments. I am going to be extremely mad at myself if I get an RFE on this.:crying:

I submitted a supplement for question 16 (Fiancee's name and address in her native alphabet) and question 18b (Description of having meet within the last 2 years).

I clearly stated on the top of each sheet "I-129F Supplement - Question XX"

I have no one to blame but myself. I must have read the instructions and guides 50 times, but that one sentence did not stick with me. I just looked back and sure enough it was the third sentence I read. :bonk:

I really hope that this does not turn into a major delay. :(

At least it is only the supplements. All other forms and letters have their own signatures.

For those who do not keep up with Igor's List, here is a little perspective on where the USCIS actually is with their processing of I-129F's.

Petitions To Date for VSC (By Date Sent In):

October 2010: 0 approvals 2 pending
September 2010: 0 approvals 43 pending
August 2010: 0 approvals 65 pending
July 2010: 3 approvals 97 pending
June 2010: 81 approvals 38 pending
May 2010: 78 approvals 15 pending
April 2010 79 approvals 25 pending
March 2010: 117 approvals 30 pending
February 2010: 103 approvals 20 pending
January 2010: 123 approvals 29 pending
December 2009: 86 approvals 23 pending
November 2009: 111 approvals 23 pending

By looking at the pattern it appears that 75% - 80% of petitions get approved in 3.5 to 4 months. The majority of the remaining will not get approved before the 12 month expiration.

Who of the September filers is thinking about visiting or be visited by her/ his fiance in the States while the K1 proces is going on?

She is not going to come here to the US again until it is with the Visa and it is for good. But I am going to Japan to visit her and her family in November. We are going to take lots of pictures for evidence and I am bringing all of the papers that she will need from me for her interview.

Do not forget that at the Consulate Interview we have to provide more evidence of a continuing relationship. They are specifically looking for more recent stuff from after the time we filled the petition since evidence from before the petition should have been included with the petition as evidence of having met in person.

Its good that you got the NOA1 letter.

Did you send in a G-1145 (e notification) form with the package? If not, that may have been why you did not get an email or text.

I included a G-1145 and got a text and an email on the same day. And I just got the letter in hand today.

Yes, everyone must send the I-129F package to the Dallas Lockbox. The USCIS consolidated all of their paperwork intake to centralized locations. I-129F's go to Dallas, I-130's go to Chicago, ect....

From there they will forward it to the proper Service Center.

Google them... Thats what I did. Put "congressman St. Louis, MO" It will probably bring up several people. Call any of their offices and give them your address. They will get you to the correct congressman for your district. You can google your two senators too. All of them will ask you to fill out and sign a privacy release document and tell them about your problem with the case. Fax it back so it goes faster and someone in that office will start making inquiries for you. Keep in touch with them via email and phone. B-)

Congrats to you, I hope you get the notice very soon....

It is our 5th month mark and I must say, I called and got tier one person
and he acted like he was God, I told him I wanted to find out what is going on and get some
answers because people after me and even in 2011 are getting aproved for what ever reason.
WELL he said "I dont know where you are getting your information but you are very misinformed,
and need to rethink where I get my information from." WOW.
I told this person I would like to find out what is going on and what is the real prossing time frame.
I was told it is not 5 months it is between 7 and 10 months respectfully. I was not happy...
I asked why they wont tell all of us the truth.
The person told me that they have really up to 10 months in reality to finish any one case.
Talk about the run around, all I got was the run around...
I even called senator and congressman and got the same run around so now what do I do...
Up for any information
ty

You should not be getting the run around from congressmen and senators. Our taxes pay their salary and they know it. Try writing a very... to the point but respectful letter to the congressman. My mother wrote a letter to my congressman about my case and received a phone call that very week from their office saying they had looked in to the case (they already had my info and privacy release form) and that I would get a decision by April 13th, and I did. Emphasize that as a tax paying citizen all of us should be treated fairly, with respect and given acurate information regarding a case for which the check was already cashed blah blah blah. Good luck!!

Daniel and LauraFemaleColombia2011-04-14 13:56:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApproved Today... I think...

This is my experience, I called yesterday after hitting my 5 Months 20 days mark and the customer support guy mentioned "Sorry sir, we are still working up to September 11, 2010 cases and the will work on October cases.". Therefore, I threw the question, "how did a friend of mine get approved who filed on November?” The Answer was "There are various criteria’s to make that selection". In addition, I said, "Yes, understood. Then tell me that you are selecting based on various combinations and not by months, which you mentioned September 11". I guess the person did not have any more information or was reading a script because he kept going round and round. To me the first line of USCIS support is more like the insurance claims office or the subway conductors. Reject all claims at the first petition and/or whatever is the reason for the delay tells the passenger that there is train congestion. What I believe needs to happen is to educate the support people with better information. On the other hand, I sometimes wonder, may be that has been deliberately designed such way!!!!!

Thanks for your suggestion and will escalate accordingly once I hit my 6 months mark.

If you have hit the 5 month mark, CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN!!! tell them the processing time on the website is 5 months and your case is taking longer. They will make an inquiry and probably tell you to wait another month and then you should have a decision. That's what I did and the people working my case at the congressman's office were fantastic. It's worth a shot. Try the senators too, you never know what strings people are capable of pulling.
Daniel and LauraFemaleColombia2011-04-14 12:32:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApproved Today... I think...
So we hit the 6 month mark yesterday and our congressional liason had told us we would receive a formal decision no later than April 13th. So I made all the calls and everyone said our case was still in "initial review" I was clearly not happy with that. So I called the congress person working my case. She made a phone call and said "you're approved!" So we were very happy and excited but I never got the email or text message confirming anything. Waited all day and got nothing. So today I checked the website and called VSC and they said I was still in initial review and that maybe I needed to wait an additional 34 days  because they are still only processing case from September 11, 2010... which is clearly not true because I know some of you from October and November even have been approved. (congrats by the way  ) So I asked "If I were a congressional liason, who would I be speaking to in order to get information on this case?" He transfered me to a "second tier" person in customer service. And that guy confirmed that we are approved and were approved on April 12th! They apparently sent us the NOA2 in the mail 2 days ago. We signed up for email/txt notifications so I don't know why we didn't get that. Oh well, we are so so so so happy to get our good news and will be even more happy when the NOA2 comes in the mail so we can frame it or something!

So I wanted to tell those of you getting to the 5 and 6 month mark get your congressman and both senators involved! This is what we pay taxes for!! Our senators didn't do much but our congressman's people were great! And don't take whatever junk the bottom tier of VSC tells you, get your call escalated to someone who has more information because clearly the people at the bottom are not well informed and the website is not up to date. Good luck to all of you still waiting, just keep working on the things you can control. On to the next step... calling the NVC daily :innocent:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsResponse From VERMONT

Wow sorry to hear about the long delays.. Just starting our journey Monday the 17 plan to mail our I-129f.. Hope your journeys end soon,,

Don't think I have the heart to tell the better half how long it may really take :-(

If you're in Chicago, you'll probably get the California office :) which seems to take less time. Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsResponse From VERMONT
Yeah I sent an email to the vermont center everday until I got a response once we hit the 5 month mark. About a week later I started getting a response every day to each one of my emails... the exact same response. the verbage at the beginning changed slightly to "We can only reiterate what you and your congressional liasons have already been told..." blah blah blah. We were told by our congress person that we would recieve a decision by April 13th, tomorrow!!! Hopefully that holds true!

Keep bugging your congressmen/senators... my mother also wrote a very strongly worded letter to our congressman about this. Emphasizing the fact that we are middle class american citizens paying taxes which pay their wages and that we should all be treated fairly and WITH RESPECT. Mom got a call a just a few days after she sent the letter from the congressman's office saying they had checked into our case and that it was being worked on right then and that we would have an answer by April 13th. We will see what happens tomorrow. Use every resource you can.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 Approved Need Your Help

Hi,
NOA2 Approved ..So excited.
Please I've been looking at all your time lines.
How do you find that information out.
I log into my case status and can't find it.
Like when packet is at NVC , embassy etc..

Pretty sure the only way to find out exactly when your case arrives at NVC and then at the embassy is to call EVERYDAY and ask. If you click above on "embassy info" and find your country, they give you all the info you need to call and find out. I am in the same place you are, I am calling NVC daily until I find out they have my case (just give them your receipt #) and then will continue to call them everday until I find out they have sent it to the embassy in Bogota. I don't know any other way to find that information. Good luck and congrats on the approval!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresContacting Senator/Congressman.
Once you hit your 5 months, contact your congressman and your senators. I didn't know who mine were until I hit the 5 month mark and googled them. Just call any congressman's local office and give them your address, they will get you to the correct congressman for your specific district. Tell them the processing time listed is 5 months and yours is taking longer. They will likely tell you to wait till the 6th month mark but that you would have a decision by then.

There is so much in this process that is out of your hands and I know that is frustrating. :crying: But this is something YOU can do! Something you can be working on now to help yourselves. I just got my approval yesterday right at the 6 month mark. And don't take anything a 1st level VSC person tells you. have them escalate your call to the 2nd tier, those people seem to have more up to date information. I called them today and they told me they were working on cases from september 11!! which clearly is not true. So hang in there till you hit your 5 month, go ahead and find out the names and phone numbers for those 3 people (1 congressman and 2 senators) and have your information ready to send to them. That's what you can do right now, today, to help your case.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescase hasnt been touched
touch means exactly that, that someone took your file and did something either moved it or opened it. In regards to it being good or bad, not all petitions are touched. I sent mine in January and just received my NOA2 with no touches at all.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC sent email
Call them because I think this is one of those false RFE's Champi was talking about. Where you sent the I864 first without the DS230. You should be fine.
