K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresmedical records
If she has had any major surgeries, she would retrieve that information from the hospital that provided her treatment.

If she was ever treated for tuberculosis, she needs to present proof that she was treated and for how long (she can also retrieve that from the doctor/hospital that treated her).

If she needs vaccination information and cannot get a hold of her former pediatrician, she doesn't have to worry. The clinic will determine what vaccines or booster shots she needs based on her age and gender. She just has to remember if she has ever had measles, german measles, mumps, hepatitis A or B, or chicken pox.

my fiance originally from the philippines now living in japan for the last 10 years....her mother died when she was young and was raised by an aunt who had a stroke...she has no idea where to get her medical records from...will this be a problem???

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-797C and NOA 1?
It's also referred to as a Receipt Notice. Basically USCIS is acknowledging the receipt of your I-129F package.

NOA2 is the Approval Notice.

Hey everyone,
New visa journey member here from Canada :) My fiance & I just got engaged and just sent our I-129f package in mid January. The sample forms here REALLY helped when we were compiling the package :)

My fiance just received this in the mail (attached image)..it says I-797C, but is this also the NOA 1? If not, what would the NOA 1 normally look like? I checked the forms in the 'Gallery' section but not sure if ours is NOA 1...?

Thanks!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Problem
The photocopy of the application pack serves two purposes: a backup in case USCIS loses anything, and as a reference for the non-USC spouse to review in preparation for the interview. So don't worry if you weren't able to make copies the first time, you can try to recreate it now, just in case the packet is needed.

Members are generally advised to bring original documents + photocopies to the interview stage. Tthe Embassy would use the originals for cross-checking and then take the photocopy of those documents...then again, they may not ask for anything additional, and hopefully none of your papers have gone missing or misplaced --- that happens too...still it is good to have all your documents on hand during the interview.

Hope this helps.

Hey all.

So i didn't find out about this site until about 3 months after we had applied. As is the case with most people who have done the same, i wish i had known about it earlier!!

Anyway, i have a problem when it comes to the interview in London. Everywhere on here it says i need to take copies of my Application pack with me...... we didnt make any copies :bonk:

so my question is: do i just make copies of everything from now on, and hope they don't ask to see any of the original pack, or do i attempt to recreate the pack we sent?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow long to get noa1?
An NO1 is a receipt notice. It's merely an acknowledgment that they have received your petition...they cannot make a decision yet until they have reviewed the entire file.

Seeing as they have cashed your check, you should get your NOA1 very soon...everyone gets an NOA1...unless their petition is returned for being incomplete.

i just checked, they cashed the check the 27th. it still says intial review though on USCIS. is there a reason id get denied a NOA1?

marriedtomrgFemalePhilippines2011-01-31 08:40:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow long to get noa1?
I assume you mailed it to the Texas lockbox?

You should receive your NOA1 about a week after it was received; if you used a check to pay your fee, you can track if it has been cashed...the time it takes for your check to be cashed and for your NOA1 to be out is only a couple of days apart....if you submitted a G-1145 with your petition, USCIS should send you a SMS or an e-mail very soon.

i mailed it and it was received on Jan 24 and sent to Vermont. I reckon its in vermont by now, so when can i expect a decision on whether or not they accepted my petition?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresgoing home during k1......
That question may be best answered by Philippine VJ members based in the middle east...please visit the discussion board and try a quick search...am pretty sure that has been addressed before.

Where can I find this for Jordan? Or is it the same?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresgoing home during k1......
Kindly review the VJ Guides for the K1 visa process. On there, you will see what documents are initially required for the I-129F petition, which jump starts your K1 process.

When your NOA2 is approved, the petition is initially forwarded to the National Visa Center where it will be assigned a case number, depending on the Embassy where your fiancee will be processed (it' will start with MNL if it is bound for the Philippines, no idea what the code is in Jordan) before it it sent to Manila or Jordan.

They have different instructions for setting the interview and making visa payments (Manila implemented their new system in December 1, 2010), so you will have to do some research on both. There are also regional forums on VJ so you can get some insight from Philippine members and Jordan members.

Here is a link to K1 visa instructions

in English
in Tagalog

This will contain the list of documents she will need to prepare before her interview date. Some requirements she can obtain way in advance, some she must wait to secure until she knows when her interview is...because if she tries to secure them too early, many months may pass and she may be asked to secure them again. Such documents include the NBI clearance and CENOMAR; it's best to secure them closer to the interview date so the information is current. Since she is a resident of Jordan, she will need a police clearance there; if she decides to leave Jordan to do the process in Manila, then you guys have to check what the US requirements are for securing a clearance in Jordan based on the reciprocity table listed on the Department of State website.

Is there a list of documents that she is going to need from Phil? Also when do we need to have them? Is there a timeframe? Like for an example if we are going to file til April can she still get docs now? Like I know she has to have a police record right? When can we get that and that needs to come from Phil? What else do we need to get? and when?

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresgoing home during k1......

Ok just some quick background my fiancee is Filipina living in Jordan on a work visa. She has been there over a year. She is originally from Philippines. She would like to go home to Phil to visit. What happens if we start the K1 process while she is in Jordan and then she goes home either to visit or to stay until she is allowed to be with me in the US, will we have to start the process over? Once we start it in Jordan will she be allowed to go home? (This depends on your fiancee, her employer and the conditions of her employment; it's a personal decision that has little to do with her decision to immigrate.) Are we gonna have any troubles if she goes home? No, you do not have to start over, however, if you guys start the process while she is in Jordan, and she decides she will quit her job or if she gets terminated:

- if the petition has not yet been approved, then you guys will have to request for the approved petition to be forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Manila; with any luck, there will be no delay other than waiting for the NOA2, and once it is approved it will just be sent to US Embassy in Manila without problems.

- if the petition has been approved and forwarded to the US Embassy in Jordan, you will have to contact the Embassy and request for her file to be forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Manila...in this case, it could take up to 3 months to be fulfilled (based on what I have read from selected US Embassy websites and posts of Philippine members who have had the same concern previously...a quick search can verify this)

Make a decision where she should be interviewed, then stick with it. There are pros and cons for every decision, just pick the one you both can live with. I can understand it is practical for her to stay in Jordan, since she has a job...immigrating isn't cheap by any means so every shred of money you both can save would be a godsend.

If she wants to visit before starting the visa process, that may be better...so she can get it out of her system.

Also just an assumption but I imagined it would be easier to get her approved from Jordan than the Philippines, am I right to assume that? Would it be easier? Hard to say...it depends on the Embassy's track record in that region. I'd imagine it would be easier for her to be processed in Manila than overseas because there would be little downtime compared to being processed overseas, if you were to take into account the time it takes to request for official documents, police clearances, and other important papers, not including the mailing time. The process is tedious enough without stretching your timeline needlessly. However, if you have trusted friends or relatives who can get these documents to her in Jordan, then you're golden. I would really like her to stay in Jordan until she is allowed to be here. For flights I know its going to be much cheaper plus she will have work until then and I'm not quite sure she will in Phil. I also think it might be easier for us to get approve by her staying in Jordan for various reasons. Any thoughts?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresService Center?
Hey there :) Try not to confuse terms..."case number" is used when your petition at USCIS has been approved and forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC)...it's the NVC who assigns a case number (which will start with MNL if you indicated the US Embassy in Manila as the place where your K1 visa will be processed later).

What you have is a receipt number that either begins with WAC or EAC.

WAC is the California Service Center, and EAC is the Vermont Service Center.

Once I receive my case number how do I find out which Service Center is processing my K-1 Packet?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReplying to REF - A timing question
The time you are given to respond depends on the adjudicating officer in charge of your file...so it's hard to say. Whatever deadline they will set is strictly enforced, and you cannot request an extension on an RFE. As a rule of thumb, you must respond to the RFE sooner than later because all processing on your petition stops until they receive the evidence they are requesting from the petitioner.

I've looked around and can't find this info so I'm hoping someone on VJ will know the answers or point me in the right direction.

When you receive your RFE how much time to you have to provide the information?

The reason I'm asking is that I may be with my fiance in Japan (him working - me visiting while we wait for our RFE or NOA2) when the request gets sent to his home in the US - which will then have to be either forwarded to us in Japan or if I'm back in Canada forwarded to me here. I have pretty much gathered everything I expect they will ask for so we're prepared... I just want to be sure that any of the requests don't expire and the process has to be started all over again... that would be just awful!

Thank you. :luv:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures**IMPORTANT QUESTION** RE: TIME LINE
which NOA are you referring to? The NOA1?

The NOA1 is merely an acknowledgment that they received your file for initial review. At the end of that review, that is when they send you an RFE, if any...or an approval if there are no problems with your petition.

After they review what you sent in compliance with your RFE, they should have a decision soon.

Can anyone answer this: Why did our NOA not indicate at that time something was missing, we received a RFE 5 months after the NOA, anyone experience a similiar situation? We have since sent out the RFE and they received it Jan. 25. Any reassuring thoughts our way will help us deal with the wait and we would be most appreciative to hear back from couples experiencing a similar time frame...THANK YOU !!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresa strange one!

Hi everyone,

I have a but of a strange question, are there any ladies on visajourney with a fiance in the airforce or any other military service?

and another more normal question, can you apply for an adjustment of status straight away after marriage? Of course you can, as long as you have all the paperwork ready. and how long do these usually take to be approved? Average processing time is currently 4 months (it depends if you need an AOS interview or not...if you do, then it will also depend on how busy your local USCIS office is, because they schedule the biometrics and interviews). thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdjudicated?
Yes that is an estimate of when you will receive your NOA2...but I wouldn't rely on it completely..it is largely affected by how often members come and update their timelines.

My Timeline states:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between May 3, 2011 and May 13, 2011*.

Does this mean that is when I can expect to receive my NOA2?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Social Security # Question
She must list her SSN as part of her background check.

Hello All,

My fiancee is filling out the G-325A form for our K-1 visa application. She is a Japanese national, but studied for 3 years in the U.S. and as such has an old Social Secuity Number. I believe this SSN was only assigned to her as a foreign exchange student. Does she list this SSN in the SSN block on the G-325A (or should she leave it blank)?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReceipt # on NOA1 & USCIS website
Give it a few days...sometimes it takes a while for you to be able to do so.

Have you been entering the receipt number without the dashes?

I got my NOA1 receipt number 2 weeks ago and couldn't add the case to my USCIS account. I waited for the hard copy and still couldn't. I called USCIS and they said basically there was nothing they could do about it and hopefully it would show up later, but that my case IS in their system (whew). Has anyone ever experiences this? How long did it take before the case was able to be added to your personal account? It just says its an invalid number when I try to enter it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSt Lukes Medical
Unless tooth decay has suddenly been declared as a communicable or fatal disease, I think it's safe to say your friend's fears are unfounded.

Admitting to any kind of drug use is a surefire way to get you to fail your medical at St. Luke's.

My fiance has a friend that has told her that she will not pass her medical exam and get her visa since she has a couple bad teeth which need to be removed. I have told her that is nonsense but she is real worried now that she won't be able to pass the exam since she does not have all her teeth. Can someone please shed a little light on this subject as to what exactly the doctors look for and what can keep you from passing your physical. Thanks in advance.

Yes, your SSN is forever, and unique to you.

My fiance and I are filling out the G-325a and it asks for a Social Security Number, I was once in the US as an exchange visitor under a J-1 visa, 3 years ago, and had a Social Security Number as well, so now my question is: Do I put this Social Security Number I once had on my application? Or should I leave it in blank? Thanks.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresafter POE, what now?
The VJ Guides are always a good place to start. Here's the link to removal of conditions: http://www.visajourn...ontent/751guide

You apply for removal of conditions within 90 days before your conditional green card expires. Just check back once in a while to see if any of the rules have changed...it will, after all, be a while before you do this.

There is a forum called: Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion

Just scroll down till you see it, and hop in. :)

I've been pretty much hands off through the whole process of our CR-1 because we had an immigration lawyer. However, with the wealth of information available on this website I feel that I can do the rest on my own.

What's the next step after POE? I know there is the removal of conditions during 90 days before the 2 years, but other than that I have no information. Is there a separate forum for ppl after POE? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurespolice certificate and police clearance
Hi ronalyn.

If you have lived in the Philippines all your life, you just need the NBI clearance for Immigration purposes (not Travel Abroad). No need to secure police clearances from every city you have lived.

If you lived in any other country outside of the Philippines for 6 months or more, then you would need to secure a police clearance/certificate from that country.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI 130 and K 3 Visa for resident in london

@canadian_wife : thanks for guide the guide . i ll have a look at it.

@marriedtomrg : thank you very much for detailed information. we are married for almost 3 years now and we got kids too (they've already got american passports). Will that make any difference? also i have got valid visit visa for usa and i have got secure job here in the UK but i have heard that when you apply for visa (like k3) they revoke it, but its wrong perhaps.

Since you've been married 3 years, what you should apply for is the IR1 visa :) It's also a permanent resident visa for spouses of U.S. citizens, but the main difference is that after you arrive in the U.S., you will be eligible for the 10-year green card instead of the 2-year conditional green card. No need to remove conditions. Even better for you! You may apply for U.S. citizenship after you meet the 3 year residency requirement. :D

@JoannaV : thanks for exsplaing about the medical and telling about interview. thats a big relief to have it in London rather than some where else. Also is it like she will apply for I-130 in usa and ill wait till it gets approved over thered and then I have to apply DS-230? or once she files i-130 , then i can file for ds-230?

thanks for your replies and great help.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI 130 and K 3 Visa for resident in london
The I-130 is a USCIS form that starts the K3 or the CR1 process. It may be filed in the US, or (if to be filed abroad) at the US Embassy governing your place of residence (provided your USC wife can prove residency in the foreign country for at least 6 months). So don't worry about it, your wife files the I-130 in the U.S.

Your choices used to be 2: K3 visa or CR1 visa.

A K3 visa is a temporary resident visa for spouses of US citizens. Once you arrive in the US, you have to file a separate application for adjustment of status, and only then will you receive a green card. This entails an additional cost of $1,070...and while adjustment of status is in play, you cannot work in the U.S. without authorization nor are you advised to travel outside the U.S. without an approved advance parole (the adjustment of status fee covers both these, but it's the wait that can drive you batty). And since you guys have been married for less than 2 years, you will receive a conditional green card; you will also need to apply for removal of conditions within 90 days before your card expires (another expense and wait).

If you file for CR1 visa, it is a permanent resident visa for spouses of US citizens. Once you arrive in the US, you will be eligible to receive your conditional green card a few weeks after arriving; you'd still need to apply for removal of conditions, but at least there is one major step (and expense) out of the way. The process takes about 9 months on the average; while waiting, you may visit your wife in the U.S. but to be admitted you must show strong ties to the U.K. (your job and proof of approved leave, as well as previous visits to the US without overstays would be one way of showing this)

The K3 visa was introduced several years ago when the CR1 process was taking too long to complete. Now they have about the same processing time. Last February 1, 2010, they introduced new rules for K3...since you need an I-130 and and I-129F to apply for a K3 (for CR-1, you only need to file an I-130 to start the process) --- if USCIS approves them both at the same time, once your case is transferred to the National Visa Center, your I-129F will be administratively closed (so even if it was approved, NVC will close it and you both will have to undergo CR1 anyway).

You guys may just want to forget about K3...just look at the CR1 process, especially if you would like to hit the ground running.

The Visa Journey Guides, Wiki and Forums are an excellence source for you and your husband to do this process yourselves. :)

Good luck on your journey!

Hi,

My wife is a usa citizen and she needs to apply I-130 for me. I am a resident in UK and we got married in Pakistan. Now after reading saveral different guides, i am bit confused about requirements etc.
For K-3 it says that application for K-3 needs to be filed from country where we got married. Is it a joke or what? do i have to go back to pakistan n file for K-3 and wait there till they call me. I have a job in the UK and its litterly impossible for me to follow it like that. Am I understanding it wrong? also a stupid kind of medical test is there?

Also if i dont apply for K3 , then what do i need to get Green card? How long does it take?

Is it possible some one can guide me through the process.

Regards,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUS Citizen address change between NVC and Consulate
Your husband has to file an I-865 Change of Address form, addressed to USCIS (since he has an active I-864 Affidavit of Support). From hereon end, whenever you guys move, he has to submit an I-865 within 30 days of moving to the new address. After you move to the US, every time you guys move, you have to file an AR-11 Change of Address form within 10 days of moving to your new address. Both of you will report to the USCIS every time you move, until you become a US citizen or until you have worked in the US for 10 years as a green card holder.

He also has to inform NVC by e-mail:

The NVC’s e-mail address is NVCINQUIRY@state.gov.
In order to ensure a prompt response:

  • Enter your NVC Case Number in the Subject Line of the e-mail.
  • Provide the applicant’s name and date of birth and the petitioner’s name and date of birth.

When you are asked to complete the visa forms for Montreal, one of the questions will ask you where you are planning to live in the U.S. You can put down his new address then.

Hello,

My husband (the USC) is moving into our new apartment this weekend (YAY!)

My question is, do we need to inform someone of the new address and if so, whom? I've heard the Mtl Consulate is impossible to get a hold of, do I just have to give them the new address when I'm there for the interview?

Thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFilling out of G-325A Form for K-1 Visa
Hi there!

Ever since they came out with the new G-325A form, many members had trouble filling out the information because USCIS made the fonts too big! That's why a lot of the info doesn't fit in the spaces provided.

Visit this post: http://www.visajourn...-address-issue/

And scroll down to the user named Stephen + Elisha He was able to unlock the G-325A form and change the standard format size! You can download the form by clicking on the links he provides in his post signature. I used this form recently on my AOS application, so it should work out for you too. :)

My answers to your questions below in blue.

Hope this helps!

Kaye

I am filling out my G-325A, Biographic Information form to send with the I-129F application and need help with a few areas.

My father passed away in 1999 :( - do i put "Deceased" instead of his information, or do i still put his information they ask for with "Deceased" in brackets and n/a for the City and Country of Residence?

You can put that information under City and Country of Residence

I'm listing my residence from the last five years, my City and Province/State names don't fit in the space provided, either 1 or 2 letters don't fit - is this a problem, or must i shorten the words to their abbreviated names?

The new G-325A form I pointed our for you to download and fill out should be able to address your concern. Otherwise, prepare a separate document using Microsoft Word and answer the question there. Make sure you type the question that corresponds to the answer...and on the form, just type See Attached. Don't forget to print out the spare sheet and attach it to your G-325A! :)

There is a question at the bottom that says "This form is submitted in connection with an application for:" and gives a choice of "Naturalization", "Status as Permanent Resident" or "Other (Specify)" to chose from, which do i chose for a K-1 Visa?

Yes, select Other (Specify) then type K-1 visa :)

Thank you for your help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAddress change...
Inform USCIS through the AR-11 change of address form...you can either complete and send it online, or you can download the form, fill it out and mail it to the address indicated in the instructions.

Whichever method you choose, it has to be completed within 30 days of your move. Online may be better since you just mailed out the petition...you have to make sure your NOA1 and all subsequent mail are received at your present address to prevent any delays.

For future reference, when your fiancee does make it to the U.S. and you guys move again, both of you have to complete the AR-11 form, but she should comply within 10 days, not 30, and currently she can only do that by mail (petitioners have more leeway).

I am the petitionar. I am not the immigrant. My fiance is still in the same spot..but I have relocated.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance Visa Fees $350 in the US Embassy Manila
I don't think taxes were needed on an I-129F petition. Those documents are usually attached to the I-134 affidavit of support.

It's your fiancee who has to produce a police certificate/report, and yes to determine criminal or civil convictions or arrests.

Ideally when you prepare an I-129F, you retain a copy of everything you submitted (forms + supporting documents) so she knows what you sent to USCIS. She will need her own copy to study it and help her prepare for her future interview. Everything that applies to her in Packet 3 and 4, she must prepare as they relate to her circumstances.

Thanks for the Info, I have went to those websites and looked at them. I also sent the links in Chinese to my Fiance, So she could look at them. But I was wondering about a few things. I front loaded my I 129f form and sent in copies of my last 3 years tax returns, birth certificates,Photos, emails, and so on.Was I right in doing that? I did this before in 1994 and I sent in everything with the application, and then twisted a few arms and got my ex-wife here in less than 3 months. But what about this Police report? I didn't do that last time. Is that something I am suppose to do on myself? or is that only for my fiance, to prove she isn't a criminal.I have been associated with the US Govermant in one way or another since 1974, First US Navy, then US Postal Service, And for the last 20 years as a Tax Preparer. So do I need to send new copies of everything to my Fiance to include with her Packet 3, or will the stuff I sent in with the I 129f be sufficient. Thanks. Bill

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance Visa Fees $350 in the US Embassy Manila
If your fiancee indicated Guangzhao as the Embassy where her visa application will be processed, the fee will be paid at:

For K visa applicants, all K nonimmigrant visa applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of 350USD (or equivalent in RMB) at a CITIC Bank prior to the visa interview. The fee can be paid at any of the designated branches of CITIC Bank in mainland China. For more information, please contact CITIC Bank national Customer Contact Center at 95558 or visit its website at http://www.ecitic.co...l/chuguo/5.htm. Please submit the payment receipt at the visa interview.

Got that information through a quick Google search using K1 instructions guangzhao

Packet 3 information (where I extracted the fee instructions): http://photos.state....on -Aug_ 10.pdf
Packet 4 information: http://photos.state....ment-Aug 10.pdf

The instructions are dated as of August 2010, so it should be the latest information.

Here's their main page...instructions are available in Chinese and English: http://guangzhou.use...and_packets.htm

Dodi, Thanks for the response. Where do we pay the Visa fee in Guangzhou? any idea? or will it be in the 4th letter? Bill

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance Visa Fees $350 in the US Embassy Manila
The $140 fee is paid by a different visa category, it does not apply to the boy and his mother.

K1 and K2 visa applicants pay $350 per person. ($700 for your fiancee and her son)

You can find the instructions in the link the US Embassy Manila provides: http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfk1en.pdf

he is listed as accompanying dependent, so they still have to pay two $350? How about the $140 fee for non immigrant form the DS 156? thats separate too?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance Visa Fees $350 in the US Embassy Manila
The fee for filing the I-129F petition is $455.

when your I-129F petition is approved, then you apply for the K-1 visa at the US Embassy in Manila. The fee for applying for a K-1 visa is $350.

They are two separate fees.

And yes, a separate $350 is paid for the boy's K-2 visa. Is the boy listed as an accompanying dependent or as follow-to-join?

I was just wondering what's the $350 for that shows on the US Embassy Manila website? If I am not mistaken, When they file for the K1 visa, its $455. Does that mean that the $350 is a different fee they pay at the US embassy manila?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChange of Address
Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary?

Hey Guys,

I will be moving soon so I will have a change of address. My K-1 visa application has already been sent. I would like to
know who do I contact or notify of the change of address? I'm guessing the sooner I notify them the better?

Thanks for replying

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk1 visa
You and your fiance may also want to read the K1 Guide: http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

Scroll down and read the steps on What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

After you receive the NOA2 (Approval Notice), your case will be forwarded to the NVC, where it will be assigned a case number (it starts with MNL). From there, the file will be sent to the US Embassy in Manila for review and visa processing.

Once they have your file, you will need to contact their call center and set an appointment for your visa interview.

There are shortcuts to this, and you can review posts by a VJ member named thepizzadude; we used these shortcuts to save us 3 weeks of waiting time...so it is worth investigating.

When you have done that, you have to make sure you have all of your forms, supporting documents, visa fees and medical completed before the interview date. Here are the instructions in English: http://photos.state.... Packet_001.pdf
and here are the instructions in Tagalog: http://photos.state....ag_rtf3_001.pdf

During the interview you will know the same day whether you passed or not. The Guides also have information on how you can prepare for your interview...you can also talk with the VJ members and ask about their experiences...how they prepared their documents and how they answered questions asked by the immigration officer.

You will also need to undergo counselling through Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), PRISM or SMEF-COW (PRISM and SMEF-COW would be better), and get the CFO sticker before your departure.

Hope this helps.
