So are plenty of others on here. You can be anywhere, as long as you are in your home country for the interview. Louise, email the embassy and ask them. I think I remember from Amanda that she emailed and got her date from them but they only sent the interview package 1 month before interview which doesn't really give you much time. If your visa is CR1 and 2 years have passed, then yes, it'll probably be transformed into IR1 at POE. K3 is a non-immigrant visa which needs adjustment of status or the completion of CR1/IR1 for non-USC to become Permanent resident alien. Our I-130 has been approved at CSC as well in the meantime and I want to return to Germany for the interview then as I know the consulate, their ways and the people there. I just have a few questions: 1. Will the NVC send the first couple things to my address in Germany or to my hubbie/my new address in the US? 2. Should I inform the NVC of my residence in the US as a K3er prior to them generating anything? 3. Will I be able to get an interview in Germany around the time I'm gonna be there anyways or will I have to fly down there just for that as they won't regard my wishes? 4. Does the removal of conditional status after 2 years apply for when I first came to the US as K3er or when I came with CR1? Kinda important to know when to send it in then. So you didn't do anything illegal in the meantime. If you still need roof for non-filing, call the IRS, talk to an operator and request a verification of non-filing. It's an official letter. Also, attach the 1040 instructions Chart A to your explanation and tell them something like this. I don't think it makes it more complicated either, but you could be having a baby while waiting to reunite with your spouse which might cause some extra stress. You wouldn't have to file more papers as the child would be an American Citizen. Well, I think you have to prove the citizenship of the Baby.
