K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurestwo I-130 questions - help plz!!
as for now, give a permanent address, maybe his Parents'? Otherwise, put down his current address. As soon as you do move, notify the USCIS.

We put down my address in germany, as we stayed there for several months together. t's safe to put down your adddress in Morocco. We asked an immigration lawyer about this and she said to put down either one of our addresses, whichever was the last

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat to do
you don't have to fill out anything. Just call the NVC, speak to an operator and tell them you don't want to persue the CR1 as you have filed for AOS after K3.
If you want to update your address, do this with USCIS, NVC doesn't really need your new address.

If you want to make it more formal, you can of course write a letter to NVC to let them know you want to cancel visa. I think this is better than just letting the year pass without contacting them.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 touched

After over 2 months of nothing after receipt of the RFE, our K3 was finally touched.

I'm a newbie to all of this. What exactly is touched? How do you see that is has been touched?

thanks!

First of all, congrats to you, meddykomp! That's good news, they are moving on!!

Now austin, touched refers to an update. Once you register at uscis.gov, you can see, when your case was last updated. It isn't necessarily a change, can be one but could just be the same ol' message you had before.. but the date moved forward. This is referred to as a "touch".

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI would like examples of RFEs
an RFE can basically be anything. Most likely it is for originals or more photos, letters etc. for K1. For K3, you don't need to submit any of this evidence so it'll either be for a wrong payment or originals. Sometimes ppl forget to submit forms that are needed as well so that's a reason.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS website updates??
It'll update if they processed all cases with the latest date. Unfortunately, there is no particular time as the flow of petitions is different at all times.
But I'm rather certain that they will post new processing dates rather soon. normally, it is once or twice a month that they post updates

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWrote in BLUE Ink?!
I think you are fine! I recall some forms saying blue or black ink. Not too sure.
Anyways, they shouldn't be such Ahole as to refuse the petition on something silly like that.

Please let us know how it turned out though!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F for spouse
double check if maybe on the check there is a different Case number and try that one. And give it a bit of time. There seems to be quite a few ppl whose cases don't seem to exist but sometimes it just takes a month or so

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a Family name question.
you can use the name you will change it too later. But visa will be issued in name in passport so you might wanna change your name rather soon.
It is acceptable to use your new married name as long as you put all other names used down where it's asked for it
That would be your maiden name and your name now
germangelFemaleGermany2006-04-12 10:02:00
K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAOS??
If you wanna go back to germany for the interview, you will not have to do Adjustment of status at all. It would only apply if you came on K3 and stayed on K3 filing for AOS. The CR1 will do the same thing basically. No need to AOS at all

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJust Wondering About I-129F Approval

Hi,
I was able to see my case online but the status never changed. It said even after I already had my visa, that "it takes USCIS 30 - 90 days to complete this kind of case"
I never got a snail-mail approval either. I simply decided to call NVC one day on November 9 2005 and found out they had already sent it to the embassy. Gosh, can you imagine the hurry I was in? I had had no time to prepare anything as I didn't know I was approved. 2 days after I called NVC I already received Pkt 3 from the embassy...

You should call NVc every once in a while

Pardon my ignorance, what's a snail mail??:)
Nat

It's called snail mail cause it is so slow (especially compared to email)
All it is is regular mail

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresnotarized copies
if you want to go around giving them the originals at the interview, you should obtain certified copies. I sent in certified copies from the start and didn't have to bring any to the interview after that so I had less to worry about.

naaaa, don't worry. The approved I130 doesn't effect you at all because your K3 would only be cancelled out if 130 arrived at the embassy at the same time.
If you choose to go with AOS, you can simply call NVC and let them know or if they don't hear from you within one year, it simply cancels itself. There is however the option to come on K3 and continue CR1 while you are in the US and go back to your country for the interview. Since the petition is already approved, it might be faster than AOS and since your country is Canada and not at all problematic to return to you might wanna think of that.

I am going this path, so is Amanda and many others. So if you have questions about this, you can PM me any time.

if NVC has jsut recieved your approved petition, there is plenty to do before an interview. Check out the NVC Flowchart (Sticky at NVC forum) for info on that. You can still go through with the K3.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJourney from NVC to foreign conculate
calling is your best shot! We got the snail mail totally late. I had already received my Pkt 3 from the consulate as they sent it electronically first but also the expedited DHL mail only took 3 days to get there. That's faster than national mail inside US. Crazy but true, so call them from time to time.

I think it depends on your embassy/consulate. i brought tax returns for 3 years and they only wanted the bank letter out of all my stuff I brought. But i have heard from other who had to hand over 3 years tax returns. Contact your embassy/consulate to find out more. They call tell you for certain

you're not mistaken. They send it to the NBC in Missouri where ALL K3s are being processed, other than K1 where they are done at the different service centers.

they are basically for you to keep track and have proof of what you sent. You could simply accumulate another package, fill out 130, G325A, copies of the cert. and so on. Not a copy but still a replica. That's if you want to. Frankfurt didn't wanna see anything from it from me

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFINALLY GOT THAT I-129F
hey, congratulations!!! I'm glad you could find out this way and didn't have to frantically call NVC every day to see if they got it.

So it'll all work out and you can get the K3 before the CR1 to have the kids over. I'm glad it all worked out.

Congrats to Jim and Bennie as well!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSome questions about K3...
Just "trick the system and say that your 129F was sent after receipt of NOA for 130. How did you send them at the same time? You need NOA for 130 for 129F package.

But just fool the timeline and make it right in your signature if you want

go to immigration timelines on the top on each page and you can add your timeline for statistics and such. Also, if you want it on the bottom of your replies, go to my controls, edit signature and put it in there

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSome questions about K3...
it is your NOA2 indeed, congratulations!!! There is no expiration date for an interview. When you receive your package, you will have to fill out a couple of forms and obtain the documentation. Once all that is taken care of, you will send them a checklist and then they will schedule an interview.
You do not have to leave within 90 days. My instruction letter said to activate the visa within 6 months, but others have argues that they never heard of that.
After activation, which is done upon entry in the US, you can leave and reenter the US as often as you like within 2 years of receiving your visa.

okay, I won't move until June so my case will be with embassy then (at least I hope so) and I have bios for EAd on May 11. So I'll see what I need to do!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMoved to new apartment
Hi, I have a related question.
We are going to move June 1. We are currently waiting for CR1 to complete at NVC and for EAD.
We already sent in the DS230 with the old address of course, as we had no clue that we'd move until yesterday!!
Who do I have to inform? Embassy and USCIS about EAD? And how? Use a form, just call or what?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresco sponcer
yes, i agree, since he married, the petition his mom filed is obsolete.
He has to inform USCIS of this!
Then you have to petition for him as his wife.
It is probably also fster as spouse visas are not limited

If he's your husband, you have to file the K3 after filing the I-130.

Please read the guides on this page.

You need a co-sponsor if your income and assets are not enought o sponsor your husband

you have better chances of getting the right answers if you post one or two threads and not ask the same question in 3 threads. It's easier for all of us, you know.
I do wish you a fast approval and please consider the answers in all threads as they are all helpful

basically you don't wait for the paperwork to arrive from NVC but self-generate them as soon as the NVC status info tells you in waht generated.
I myself didn't do it.

Edit: I was replyng to the poster before me, who wanted to know where to find DS3032!
