US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWarning: this may be a silly question.
Can I ask something slightly random?
Can I have my fiance's parents write a letter to take to my interview, saying how and when they met me for the first time and what they think of me?
Will that help at all or will they think that it might be a bit ''biased''?

Ok, it's totally random.

I agree!
At least in their case, I would wonder: '' Why do they want to move to the US and marry an American citizen, if they're not comfortable enough with their English?''.

I mean, I know that's not a reason for someone to deny their case since it's much easier to provide the right answers without the extra stress of speaking a foreign language, but I've heard many cases in here being denied because of lack of relationship evidence although they had a lot of it!
So yeah, it's better not to give them more reasons to put any reg flags in your case.

Thank you all!
Point is, I think it'll be better for me to have the interview in English. Don't know why, I just feel more confortable with it and I'll prepare any possible questions/answers in English too.

Plus the fact that it'd be nice to show them you can actually communicate with your fiance.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWarning: this may be a silly question.
So I was wondering for days now...
Will the employees in the US Embassy in my country, speak English or Greek for example?
I am curious about in what languange the interview will be.

I know this might sound silly to you, and that the possible answer I'm expecting is '' English'', I just thought I should ask cuz you guys are awesome and don't judge stupid questions.

Thaaanks!

Thank you all for your support. I didn't expect so many replies.
I'm sorry for those who have been through that but at the same time, I'm happy that you are still together and stronger than ever.
Not everyone can handle distance and survive.

We had a tough road so far.
After more than a year, distance tires you so much. Every little thing can turn up to be a huge thing.
I am stressful too and took off my stress on him sometimes. That exhausted him and the distance didn't help at all.
I'm trying to make him understand that when we finally be together, everything will be better. But he is sure, it won't. I can't do much to convince him.
Being appart, isn't really the true us. We're just two people from each side of the world, using technology to be together.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterview done, Visa approved!
Hello guys! I had my interview a few hours ago and I came here to share my experience.
It was at the U.S Embassy in Athens Greece and honestly, I thought it'd be much more stressful and harder.

I'm copy pasting the review I submitted.

I arrived there at 8:25am for an 8:30 appointment. I saw around 30 people waiting before me and I knew it'd be a long wait. After the security check where I had to give them my phone and a USB I had with me, I went to another room and a woman gave me a number and told me to wait until someone called me. I waited for about an hour before I saw my number flashing. I entered a small room with a chair and across me (glass between) there was a woman sitting. She spoke to me in Greek (no American accent), so I figured she was Greek. I gave her my passport, 2 photos, the DS-forms, birth certificate and visa payment receipt. ( I have already submitted the I-134 with my initial petition).
I waited a bit and when she came back, she gave me the X-ray results and told me to keep it and have it at POE with me.
She only asked 3-4 questions and she was writing them down:
-How many times have you been to the US?
-On what Visa?
-How did you meet your fiancé?
-Will this be your first marriage?

I asked her if she wanted to see evidence of ongoing relationship, and she said no.

Then she told me to wait outside until my number is called again so I can go for fingerprints and then talk with the consular officer so he can decide.
I also gave her my phone number so they'd call me and tell me to come and pick up my Visa.

I waited for about another hour, then simply went for fingerprints and about 20min later, my number flashed again and I entered the same room.
This time, a U.S officer was there and the woman that interviewed me before, was standing besides him.
We agreed to speak in English and he proceeded to ask me pretty much the same questions:
-How did you meet?
-Where is he working?
-Where does he live?
-Do you plan to live there (area) when you move?

And that was it. He was very friendly and the whole thing didn't take more than 3minutes. Once again, no recent evidence of ongoing relationship was asked from me. While he was interviewing me, he was looking at the photos we had submitted with our I-129F petition.
I was kinda bummed out that he didn't wanna see my evidence, because I had arranged them in a nice folder, with chronological order, starting with boarding passes, photos with captions, phone call screenshots, messages, cards/letter, facebook evidence and such. Anyways.

He said that we were done and I should expect a call from them later this week, to come pick up my passport and visa. So I asked him: '' Are we going to find out if we're approved by the end of the week?'' and he replied: ''No, you're already approved''.
I smiled and told him to have a great day.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Traveling to the US while waiting for interview

Hi my name is Elisabeth and Im a swedish citizen engaged to an american. We got our 129F approval from USCIS march 4th and were informed that our case is forwarded to NVC. I'm stressed out cause we are planning to get married July 19th and have booked everything from a venue to a priest. My feeling is to prospone the wedding but my fiancé wants to wait to prospone it. Any pointers or ideas? Should we trust the system and hope for an interview in June?
How long does the process usually take at the NVC to the American embassy in Stockholm?

Kind regards,
A very stressed bride

I just received an interview date for March 18th.. And the Nvc received my case December 8th.. So are you doing the fiancé visa or the spousal visa? Cause I feel like the fiancé visa is a quicker process to actually get to the US.. Since you still have to adjust status while in the us.. Spousal visas takes longer as you are a permanent resident at point of entry.. I think you should be fine, be active in the Nvc process, call a lot, ask a lot, cause they don't always email you information. Email the embassy to see what their workload is at the moment aso. Be active and I think you'll be ready to go by the time of your wedding:) so def hold on with the postpone.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Traveling to the US while waiting for interview
Does anyone have experience about entering the US on the visa waiver program, while waiting for case complete/interview? We are leaving for the states at the end of the month, husband and two children all USC, I will then fly back to Sweden for my interview.. I am doing my medical this week so everything is done and ready for the interview. Have a hard time finding information about this online? The entire family has return tickets. My husband also has a letter from his employer stating he will be back to honor his contract after 5 weeks and I'm on maternity leave, we have bank accounts and a home and cellphones aso to show that we have to come back to get the last stuff done before the move. But we are moving our dog back to the US now, he will stay with my sister in law, as we don't have anywhere to put him for the 5 weeks we are visiting the states anyways.. Purpose of the visit is mainly friends and family, but also to start preparing for the future move. It is def a process. I have no intention of not returning to Sweden.. It's been a process worth priceless amount of time and over $1000.. Now I only have the interview left, I hope that shows for something.. Thoughts?

2007.

My husband graduated 04 and his sisters 06 and 07. That's so crazy! You guys might even know each other. Their last name is Coffman. I'm so excited to go back.. Europe is great in many ways, but America is America and there isn't anything like it. I didn't realize how much I loved until we moved here.. People in Sweden are very conformed!

I went to Puyallup High, my entire family is in the valley. My sister-in-law went to PLU for nursing!

We'd take Sweden over Serbia any day hahaha. There's not a lot of English speakers here, and of course I'm trying to learn the language without much luck. It is so frustrating! But really, Serbia has officially reported somewhere around 24-30% unemployment. It is not a joke! I visited for two months last winter and it was difficult. So when we decided being together is much better than being apart, I thought I knew what I was getting into. I was wrong. But enough of that, there is nothing worse than being away from my husband. It breaks my heart to read everyones stories on here.

What year did you graduate?

WHAT?! That is pretty strange. Puyallup is a great place for families, even though I had never known it until I left. It doesn't get much better than the PNW. And yes, we are praying for the process to be quick because, other than my horrible homesickness that feels like a real disease, we need to work. Serbia literally has close to nothing as far as work, and if you can find you are a slave with very little gain.

Where did you study? I'm so curious how anyone from Europe knows about cute little Puyallup. hahaha

Yea I love puyallup too and my husband feels the same as you, he is insanely homesick, we already have a house set up waiting to be moved into up on south hill right between the meridian and canyon. I studied first at grcc in auburn and then transferred to PLU for my BA.
Swedien has lots of work but my husband misses the pnw, and so do I. It will be great to be back! What high school did you go to?

How funny we are moving to puyallup, my husband is from there and I lived there too while studying abroad. We are living in Sweden, and I believe that we are very lucky and that somehow USC who are living abroad gets approved faster sometimes.. Was another august filer from France Approved a month or so ago too.. It got transferred to the NBC after lockbox Chicago and approved there, never got transferred to any other place.. I'm very lucky and happy and don't take this for granted, I hope everyone will be approved soon, they are moving us up on the list of priority now though, USC filing for spouse, they want to bring families together, so I hope they manage to keep their almost 4 months shorter processing time as it's now 7,4 months instead of 11. Cross fingers nvc will be painless now!
