Will the Pharmacies here Honor the prescription that is given by a Philippine doctor?

Thanks Life'sJourney, I'll tell them to bring her medical records when they come here. No problem in translations since they usually use English in documents there in the Philippines but I will mention this to them. Thank you.

It's not my forte since I haven't bought any meds online. My sister knows more about this, she has experience, so I'll pass this on her court, lessen the burden on my part. But yes, I will look into that.

Their time to come here is fast approaching...and I want to be ready so their transition is quite as painless as possible.

@Lexlee08, we might do that. Go to our doctor here and just pay the whole doc's fee and have her prescription filled if we can't have her PI prescription honored.

Does WalMart/Sam's/Kroger's/Costco's Generic $4-$10 need an insurance? Or is it okay without it? I know WalMart preffered Humana. I got the pamphlet for it.

Hi my mom has diabetic and she has prescription from her doctor for her insulin shots. When she arrives here and the health insurance don't kick started yet. Can we present the prescription (Rx) given to her by her doctor and get her insulin meds? Will the (Rx) prescription be honored?

I don't know if this will help you but it did to me. Before my parents went to their medical. I have my parents go get an xray test. Just to be sure, it's okay not to do it. It's just me, worrying...It was just my paranoia at work. LOL :lol:

But I had my parents present the result that their lungs are clear. At least it helps, though they still want to do their own test. But still, I have peace of mind that they will pass the test with flying colors. :dance:

Interview Question for Parents

No need, my parents were'nt asked to gave anything during their interview. But I gave them my updated AOS just in case they will be asked for it. Because on the website: http://www.travel.st.../info_3741.html

it says to ensure they bring the original docs and an updated AOS is included on the list.

Anyway, the letter NVC gave you for the case complete and schedule interview date has a list on what to bring, it's located on the last page of that letter.

The legend of their letter for NVC didn't state that they need to bring it since everything was okay and accepted, but I just want to make sure they have everything and since we already filed for our tax I gave them the updated AOS and ITR copy we submitted, just to be on the safe side.

Good luck on your parents interview.

PS: I also let them bring the copies of what I submitted throughout the process during their petition, just in case they lost it during transit from NVC to USE Manila.

Copies of your return, the one you submitted either in snail mail or electronically is acceptable.

The only difference I see is that the transcript is only one page. The copies are a bit more with it's supporting docs like your W2, medical receipts if you choose to itemize etc...

is SFO good for POE?

My POE was San Fo too. And my parents this coming March will be San Fo as well.

I don't know about delicacies but my parents will bring some 5 packs of mango balls. My husband love that one.

They also want to bring some can goods...but I don't think that it is allowed?

I'm wondering could someone post which is okay to bring and not to bring. Can you bring dried fish? Can you bring your portable Hard Drive with you? It has lots of music and movies in it, will that be allowed or not?

When does the embassy send a letter...

We never got a letter from USE Manila for a schedule to go to St Lukes even after 2 weeks NVC sent us an email for my parents interview schedule.

So what I did was let my parents go to St. Lukes with the print out email letter from NVC stating that they have an interview schedule. And they were able to have their medical. The email that NVC gave you that you are case complete with the MNL case # is enough for your fiancee to have her medical done.

I woke up 30 mins earlier to a phone call from my husband informing me of this news. He said the Northern Part in the Philippines are the ones affected.

I was glad that my parents also didn't choose the stopover flight there in Japan when they bought their tickets bec it was one of the options with the same price, instead they choose the direct flight. Thank GOD! If they did they will be stranded there in Japan. Their flight is today 3/11. They're on the air now. They're expected to arrived in San Fo at 6:30PM.

I was really worried. When I call my sister, she says they're okay there in PI.

My prayers to people in Japan and the ones that were affected in the Philippines.

In regards about USE Manila, I don't think they will stop the process.

San Fo POE, Welcome Letter, Green Card & SSN

Thanks all!

To Update:

My parents received their GC on March 30, 2011. After 2 weeks and 5 days since they arrived here in US.
And their SSN arrived on April 4, 2011. 5 days after their GC arrived. :thumbs:

(Weird bec they received their Welcome Letter on April 1st. Their GC arrived 1st before their Welcome Letter.)

We did went to the SSA office early in the morning before our mail was delivered on March 30, to apply for their SSN. We told the SS officer there that they tick off in their DS 230 that they want to apply for the SSN, she check their system that they won't be doing a multiple application for the SSN but since it's been 3 weeks (almost 3 weeks) she allowed them to apply there. :thumbs:

My parents now have their State ID and we're able to open a bank account for them. Yey! :dance:

San Fo POE, Welcome Letter, Green Card & SSN

Hi,

It's just now that I have the time to post here again.

My parents arrived safe and sound. Thank God, especially when they flew on March 11. Good thing they didn't bought the ticket going to Japan. They would be stuck there if they did. (People in Japan has my prayers.)

Anyways, when my parents arrived in San Francisco they weren't harrassed or asked a LOT of question. They were only asked one question. And it's: Are you Happy? Happy Happy? LOL :lol:

(Of course Happy, Happy)

My parents were overwhelmed of how big the airports were since it's their first time to fly here. And they have the same shock expressions as everybody when they first got their first serving of food. LOL :rofl:

I already told them that they serve big here but they thought since they were hungry they can finished two orders. LOL :lol:

They can't hardly finished the one serving! :rofl:

I also thought they will be tired when they arrived but they had so much energy, it was us that went to bed earlier. The jet lag didn't hit them until the following day. Until now they are still adjusting in their sleeping timezone. They sleep when it's light here and wake up when it's night.

Our reunion is a BIG blessing and we're very very HAPPY to see each other again. :dance:

Now, for the welcome letter, Green Card and SSN. We haven't got any yet. They've been here for a week now but haven't got anything yet. How long do we need to wait for their GC? Should we call or wait? Where should we call?

When they ask the IO on their POE when they will get their GC they were told that they will get it 3-6 months. :blink:

I thought it will be 1-3 weeks. Most of the people I know here in our area said they got theirs after one week too so I'm kinda wondering what happened to my parents' GC's. Also they got their SSN in the mail too after week they got their GC. They didn't went to a SSA office to apply since they already tick off their application for their SSN.

But I guess we could wait for a month still, I guess. There's still time. Just excited to be DONE.

Important Announcement for Manila k1 beneficiaries

Hi I have a question, my parents already has an interview schedule and I've read here you need to fill this form in this website: http://www.ustraveld...ppointment.html

To enter document delivery address. Do they have to do this before they go to their medical? They haven't got any schedule for medical but we are planning to have them fly 2 weeks from now to have their medical at St Lukes.

Now, I have my parents try to enter their info on that website to put their delivery address since they already have the interview schedule but we can't seem to proceed. It always gets stuck on the Application Validity Page, it won't accept the password we put on there. What gives?

Anyone having the same problem? Or is it just us? When we put in a password it will give us this red asterisk (invalid message): Posted Image

@John+Lourdelie & Adam and Thet, It's kinda the same flight I have when I came here (Manila-San Fo-Atlanta-Nashville). And yup it's their first time to travel a long flight. The duration of their flight (or the agony as you call it LOL :lol:

) is 18 hrs and 40 mins. But there's a waiting time from Manila to San Fo for 3 1/2 hrs. And another 4 hours from San Fo to Chicago. So overall total will be 26 hrs and 10 mins. I know they can manage and they can totally rest the whole day when they arrived.

When I came here I fly out in Manila but the day or 2 (I think) before that was my Cebu-Manila flight. So in a way they have the same as me. The difference is the stop over on Chicago. My connecting flight before was Atlanta-Nashville. Not Chicago-Nashville. And I stayed the whole 24 hours(a day) there in San Fo bec I can't get on the same connecting flight as my hubby. So I catch the next one which is the following day at night, last flight and I was a chance passenger to boot. It was a holiday so there were many people travelling.

Finally, we were able to convince our parents to come here earlier than April. Got them tickets for PHP 31,000 each Cebu - Nashville that's $720.93 ~ round off $721 each. March 11 is the flight date. :dance:

The itinerary is CBU-MNL-SAN FO-CHI-NASHVILLE.

St. Raphael quoted us $770 each but we found a travel agency there in Cebu, they gave my parents the first time immigrant discount too.

Ask for Loida, that's the owner of the travel agency. She works before on DFA, my parents know her when she was still single and she's also the one who process my sister's passport before. So if anyone here in Cebu wanting to get an affordable and competitive price for their ticket, why not give the Debalucos Travel Agency a call. :thumbs:

I had the medical exam one day, then the interview the next day.

On the K-3 checklist it says "Arrange for a medical exam..." not Complete your medical exam...

Did they give you a copy of entire medical exam or only copy of vaccination. If copy of entire medical exam, how about the case number, I mean when we apply AOS/EDA (adjust status) if use this copy, there is case number (K1 OR K3) on it.

It was a duplicate copy of the whole thing, except the x-ray. No idea about the case #; I used the second copy at the CR-1 interview (no need for AOS).

You can ask them on the phone. I asked to see if I could get a second copy when I booked my appointment.

Oh, and also, is he pretty willing to hand out the vaccination copy for AOS?

I asked for a duplicate of my medical results and they gave me an extra copy at no extra charge. (Only one x-ray, though.)

They didn't keep the vaccination info at my K-3 interview. They pulled off the envelope and gave it back.

JG, are you pursuing the CR-1 through Montreal, or just sticking with the K3? The reason I'm wondering is because it seems like they've been scheduling CR-1 interviews faster than K3s. If your CR-1 is making it's way through the NVC maybe your husband will get it instead of the K3. :thumbs:

You don't need any medical forms that I'm aware of, just go to one of the panel physicians and get your exam done.

Immunization Help-Problem Getting Records

My Dr ran the titres, then gave me the shots I needed, all for free. :thumbs:

It took about a week to get the results back from the lab, so make sure you give yourself enough time.
