IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	papers for interview	Note: Virtually all consulates require the I-134 form Affidavit of support for all K1 and K3 visas. The I-134 was not required for K3s going through the Vancouver Consulate. Do we need to bring any originals of the documents though?? Like the W2s or Income Tax Receipts? There was a checklist in my packet 4 that listed all of the paperwork, and they'd checked everything with either "Y" =yes / document complete / reviewed, "O" =original document received, or "E" = exempted / document not required. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	how long is the wait for the interview after the checklist is sent out?	We sent out our ds230 checklist without a copy of the police cert. from my husband's country of birth and his original birth certificate. I got a letter from them saying that we don't need to send the police cert right now we can bring it at the time of the interview as it takes upto three months (thats' the reason why we din't send it with the checklist as we are still waiting on it). Now my husband has mailed me his original birth certificate and i'll be mailing it out soon. So now my question is how long do they take to give an interview date after they receive the complete checklist? Can we expect an interview date in a couple of weeks or months? Also, my husband will be interviewing at the montreal counsulate in Canada. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. I'm curious why you got a checklist for the CR-1 / IR-1 in Montreal. Go back to where you go the info about adding your 'addendum' and re-check it. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Are IR1/CR1's moving faster?	If you can afford to start paying the NVC fees (knowing that you might lose them if you're in a hurry for your spouse to arrive right away after receiving the K3 if you get it first and then decide to do AoS in the US), it might be a good idea to start moving your I-130 through the NVC as quickly as possible. We used James's shortcuts and ours went quite fast. I'd check to see when your K3 should be complete compared to others who have just gone through your consulate, and go from there. Also, I don't see how it would hurt to submit a letter addressing the red flags. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Red Flags - timing and informal wedding	We weren't asked for any photos at either the K-3 or CR-1 interview, but it seems to vary by country. (Doesn't seem like Germany's a high fraud-risk country, but maybe check in your regional forum to see what others going through the same consulate have to say about showing extra evidence at their interviews.) I'm getting mine together right now, and I'm curious to find out about potential stumbling blocks. Since you were very efficient in your process, I assume you were also pretty well prepared ... or at least thought you were! Thanks, Alice I haven't been reading the IR-1 / CR-1 forum too much lately, so I'm glad I caught this! We didn't put "N/A" in one of the spaces. It didn't seem like anything was required. (I can't remember exactly which space it was.) It's best to follow simple male's advice and put something in *every* blank space, even if it's "N/A" or "none". You should be fine! We followed James's shortcuts and other VJer's advice and had everything prepared well in advance, so each item was ready to send out right after the NVC generated the forms. We both proof-read everything, so we caught most of the mistakes well in advance. As long as you carefully prepare the required documents, you have a few extra $ to overnight the materials by USPS, the system's functioning well, and you don't get caught up in security checks, your petition should move through the NVC fairly quickly. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	visiting girlfriend, problems with customs	I visited my (then) BF repeatedly for 1-2 month visits before we were married. I got pulled into secondary inspection 3 times, and had a really long interview on the third time. At that interview the immigration officer asked me to add up all the days I'd visited, then said it was too long -that it was more like I was living in the US and visiting Canada instead of the reverse-, and warned me that there'd be problems next time I tried to enter if I couldn't show ties to home. The next time I went across I had a government work contract in hand and breezed through after a couple of questions at the primary inspection. I too was interrogated on several occasions, probably because I visited so often and didn't have a job because I'd just graduated from University and didn't want to jump into a serious job when I wasn't sure where my personal life was headed. I put an end to that problem by accepting two major research contracts. After that I breezed through Immigration without any problems. Have a couple of questions about the G-325A form. 1.)about all the addresses and employment history for the past 5 years. While I was in college, I moved a lot so I can remember all of the dates except for one. I remember the month I moved out but I am having trouble remembering when I moved in. You answered your question partly, you stated that your last address is London so that is were they would send the petition and plan on interviewing you, not Guangzhou China. The consulate letter may have a GZ number due to their doing a name check in China. The question is where would it be more convenient for you to interview, London or Guangzhou? If you are now in China then contact the London office and see if they can transfer the case to Guangzhou. THE REASON: HER POLICE REPORT WHEN SHE STUDIED IN LONDON HAS EXPIRED THE 1 YEAR LIMIT. WHEN I STARTED THE CR1 VISA PAPERWORK IT TOOK 1.5 YEARS BEFORE SHE GOT THE INTERVIEW TODAY. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	221 G	My fiance went for his interview this morning in Casablanca, Morocco. He was asked a bunch of questions about my daughter and the lady was frustrated because he could not tell her the name of my daughters last boyfriend. She barely looked at the pictures he provided and would not look at any other proof of our relationship. He was given a form 221G. I contacted the consulate and the lady told me that she cannot give me a reason for the denial of visa. I then sent an email asking for a reason and they just told me that I would have to contact USCIS in 8 to 10 weeks. Has anyone ever gone through this before and is there anything that I can do? We have had no touches and no NOA2. Its frustrating to see July filers get their NOA2 while we are still waiting, but nothing we can do about it. I tried phoning NVC ... just in case ... The lady I spoke to was lovely, even though she confirmed they haven't yet received anything. Kyle phoned Vermont, but he said it was pretty pointless. I have been living in Prague a few years now, and know a couple of Czech people who have been approved fiance and spousal visas. Like in GDR, their parents all used to belong to the communist party, take part in marches etc and it didn't seem to affect their approvals. We couldn't stand being apart anymore. So, we just received the I-130 approval before the I-129f, still not received approval yet. We learned that the CR-1/IR-1 is automatically defaulted when applying for the I-130. How long does it take from sending out the fees for the bills of the AOS and Immigrant Visa application fee? It all depends, but take a look at the timelines of people who are currently going through the NVC as well as people who are from the beneficiary's country. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Visiting the U.S. during the I-130 process	One thought: If you fly out of Vancouver or Toronto, you have to pass through US Immigration before leaving Canada. Someone with more information can proably elaborate on this but I read somewhere that if you're refused entry, since you're not on American soil you can withdraw your intent to enter the US, and therefore won't receive an official denial (though they may note on your file that you tried to enter and were refused).
