Is this a requirement in Casablanca, paying for the visa before hand? If so, where dis you find that info? I have poured over the interview packet and the website, please direct me.

Shukran bizef!

Hmmmm... i'm not sure... i'm a little confused myself. i think before, like last year, you had to pay at the bank beforehand. i don't know why i remember this... but maybe one of the veterans can add some info.

in any event, i e-mailed the consulate and they said Habibi could either pay in advance or on the interview day, directly at the consulate. i don't know which is better or what? we are still undecided about where/when we will pay.

Any thoughts anyone?

Hi Everybody,
Quick question before the interview....

My husband has to pay the visa fee beforehand. Can he pay at any BMCI bank? Or does it have to be a specific one in Casa?

QUOTE (VictoriaUSA @ Apr 7 2008, 11:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello. My fiance just received his packet from Casa and I have a few questions:

1. What should we expect to pay for everything including the doctor's visit, vaccinations, translations of documents, etc.?
i think they say that the medical is around 1,100 dirhams. Hayati brought a little more than this, but all in all, he ended up spending 995 or something like that for the actual exam. That didn't include train fare or taxi fare.

Translating will depend on who you go to and how much there is to translate. i think we paid about 600 dirhams in total for everything. Try to bring all your documents at once so then you can bargain down the translator.

2. What forms come in this packet?

i think there is a list in the Packet for him to fill out. i know the DS 156K, DS 156, and the DS 157 are needed. But Hayati told me there was some other stuff, too.

3. What forms in this packet do I, the petitioner, need to sign or fill out?

i think you just have to do the affadavit of support?

4. What original forms should I provide to him?

You should send to him all the originals of all the evidence that you sent in with the original petition. And any originals of additional evidence you are providing to show that you still maintain a relationship.
5. Is it better for me to be at the interview with him? Will they allow me to go inside with him?
Hmmmmm... one of the veterans can answer this one better than me...
6. Is there anywhere I can find a copy of the forms he was sent without him having to pay to fax it to me internationally?

Yes, you can find some of the forms on this website, some on USCIS website, and i think the DS-156K needs to be submitted online via the Casablanca Consulate website.

Good luck to you and your habeeb! rose.gif rose.gif

From what you have written, you have a right to be mad... i'd be "seething", too.
Just do your best to take care of you. One thing at a time. Find a way to your doctor, get your tests done, and then on to the next thing.

i'm sorry he keeps changing the ticket and costing you $$. i really hope that you can communicate all this to him.

i'm so sorry, Wahrania.
i am glad though, that you are going through with the tests and trying to take care of yourself. Inchallah, you will have good news tomorrow and you and the baby will be in good health.

i understand the pain in the ### of getting a transit visa for France. it happens and it is a whole lot of unnecessary red tape for most Francophone African countries.

these are my questions:
is it absolutely necessary that he travels through France? are there no flights that go through Spain, UK, or Belgium?

has he not seen his mother in a long, long time, is that why he is choosing to go to France?

have you discussed the possibility of applying for advanced parole once he gets here so he can then travel to see his mother a little later?

i'm sorry all this is happening at once, but i really hope it works out and you have all our prayers.

I understand your trying to cover all your bases....It is the same for me when dealing with the DOS and consulate people. However, try not to do damage control before damage. If only because you may be getting nervous for nothing. There is a good chance your habibi will come out of the interview with flying colors!!!

i hope so!!

Thanks, ladies, for your thoughts...
i wrote a kinda longwinded letter to my Senator, the one who said they'd be happy to know our history, just in case...

and i feel better just having written it. i haven't sent it yet... it needs a lot of editing down, but maybe i will fax it over tomorrow. just writing it helped some.

anyway, thanks for your insight! good.gif i hope i have some good news to share with you soon, and all this worrying for nothing!

Middle East and North AfricaMaybe i'm Being Overanxious ?
Salaam all,
Happy Thursday.

As a lot of you know i am preparing for our interview in Casa next week. i took some of your advice and i've been trying to contact my representatives all morning. i just thought i could send them a letter or something to make them aware of our petition IN CASE we need their help in the next few weeks. Am i neurotic for preparing myself for so much to go wrong so quickly?

Anyway, my Senator's office was great. They said, Sure, send us a letter and a case history.
My Reps' offices are reluctant to take anything from me since we [Habibi and i] don't have a problem yet.... which, i understand. They are probably inundated with stuff daily... i get it... "Don't bury him until he's dead," one woman told me. blink.gif

But something my Reps' offices have been telling me really doesn't sit well. They are saying that even if there is a problem and Habibi is denied, there is nothing they can do. "It's up to the Consulate," they've said. "You can't contact us until you come home with 'the paper'," another insisted. wacko.gif

Is this true? Have any of you heard this before?

Maybe i should just chill out and wait to see what the interview will bring? headbonk.gif

Sorry for my meandering neuroses,

We had the same problem. i think G325 A Bio asks for address where your SO lives, his residence. We put his actual living addresses on the G325A, and then we used his mailing address on the I-129F. AP or AR happens after your habeeb or habeeba has his/her interview, and then their application is further processed for security checks, name hits, etc... Sometimes it is completed quickly... in just a few days. Other times, as many here can tell you, it lasts for months or God forbid... even longer.

It is Administrative Limbo, also known as the 8th Layer of Hell. diablo.gif

Tammy, thank you so much for creating the list. Thanks for your support and inspiration, too.

Our interview went a lot like Okidoki's.

Here is our story:

My fiance's interview was April 28, 2008. He was interviewed by a blonde woman with glasses. She was very nice and asked him only a few questions. She also asked him to sign the form DS-156K swearing that he will marry within 90 days.

In the interview she asked him for emails for the past 2 years, and he let her see them. She told him that she would keep them to review.

She also gave him a form that stated "This office regrets to inform you that it is unable to issue a visa to you because you have been found ineligible to receive a visa under the following section(s) of the immigration and nationality act.", but on this form what is checked is "other" and written beside it is "we are reviewing the documents provided during your interview. We will contact you when our review is complete."

Has anyone else received similar forms? Does this mean a visa will be issued? blink.gif helpsmilie.gif

Any advice, comment, or thought would be most appreciated. Thank you smile.gif

I don't think that's a good sign?? Try posting a new topic to get answers from people similar to you

Salaam Stacy,
i don't think it is good or bad... from what i've read, i think it's just CASA and the unpredictable way that they work and process visas.
a lot of us have received this form. i think they are just reviewing the documents provided in the interview and then will continue with "administration processing." Inchallah, they will review the papers quickly and you will have your visa quick! i hope so... for you, me, and all the others in the same boat.

Hi Okidoki,
i'm sorry that you are still waiting for your visa... i don't know why it takes so long, but i know you are not alone. i think this is standard procedure for Casa, you pass the interview, but you don't get the visa until they finish their "administrative processing." we are in the same boat as you...

did she give you any time frame when it might be finished? did she take your passport?

i think you can call DOS to check the status of your petition... and you can send an e-mail to the consulate just to check the status. but other than that, i think we just have to wait. it is heartbreaking.

good luck! i hope you hear some good news soon, inchallah.
