US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3/4 Received
My wife called me last night to tell me that she has received the Packet3/4 from the Islamabad Consulate. She was at her mom's so I couldn't get much details but my opened the packet and told me that the Interview was scheduled for 29th of May 2007 at 8:30am.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I have already pretty much compiled all documents that she will need and will send it to her once she sends me the checklist so I can verify that the docs that I am sending is all she needs.

Thanks
Khurram

Try to find out dates through some other means like contacting the airline you flew on or and creadit card puchases you did those days and such, make sure you mention your overstay and there is nothing worse then mis-representation.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Printing Both sides

Well, that's not a VJ site nor an official US site, so I'm not sure where they get the authority for that instruction . . . .

(Nothing in the official instructions for the I-134 requires this sort of printing - unless I've gone blind . . . )

I figured as much and sent the document two paged but wanted to check with the other members, now it's clear.
Thanks I guess I won't have to send it again :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Printing Both sides
I know that I-134 has to be printed on 1 page on 2 sides. And If I don't have a printer that prints on 2 sides, first print on 2 pages and then make 1-->2 photocopy.
But My question is should I do a Long edge print or short edge, I am pretty sure I have to do a short edge but just want to confirm with people who have done this in the past.
Thanks for your help in advance

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-230

I have a question regarding question #28 on form DS-230.

28. Full Name in Native Alphabet (If Roman letters not used)

Ok, I would answer this N/A because spanish uses Roman letters.

However VJ example form answered this question NONE instead of N/A. Am I right or is VJ example form right?? Here is the link http://www.visajourn...Form-DS-230.pdf

Correct response dould be N/A and not none

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Affidavit of Support (Sign of Admin Oath)????
A notary public is an officer who can administer oaths and statutory declarations, witness and authenticate documents and perform certain other acts varying from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Generally speaking, a notary public in the United States of America has powers that are far more limited than the role of a civil law notary in the rest of the world, with the exception of Louisiana. For the purposes of authentication, most countries require commercial or personal documents which originate from or are signed in another country to be notarized before they can be used or officially recorded or before they can have any legal effect.

Sounds like you need to find another Notary

Khurram,

I didn't see this earlier. Congrats on the approval!

Regarding the Amex issue... I hope you have read up on the posts in the past, from junglee and pratha and the other ISL petitioners. Their past posts had some great details on the proactive steps you can take to help that process along.

Thanks Gupt, I have been reading on it from them and it is very informative. Thanks again

My Wife's Interview Experience:

When she entered the embassy they asked her for the interview letter and passport plus fees $100 and then told her to take a seat, after approx an hour she was called on to a window where she was told to give all forms, I-134 and only tax returns, medical report and Police cerificate and was asked what language she would like her interview in and she said Urdu. She was again told to take a seat. After an hour or so she was called to a window where an American lady was sitting and had a pakistani guy standing next to her, she said to he guy to tell my wife that she needs fingerprints, but my wife understood her so she said that where do I do that. The Immigration officer smiled and said do you know English?" and wife said yes and my wife said that made her really happy. She asked her
1. Who is the petioner?
2. What does he do for a living?
3. Where does he work?
4. where does he live?

and then one unusual question
5. Does he like it in America?

After which she said I am satisfied and you are approved, you will get you visa by Courier Amex within 30 to 60 days or maybe sooner, when she saw my wife got a little nervous she said" I am so sorry for this delay but I have no control over it and I will push as much as I can to get to you sooner" and she gave her the Pink slip.

My wife came out a happy person

Now this might not be 100% as I am just telling you what she told me from islamabad and maybe I'll learn more once she comes back home and we talk in detail.
