IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support another question

thanks alot mr. Khurram
and good luck, may Allah be with you

You are very welcome - May Allah be with you as well

In regards to a letter from employer...

My grandmother is going to be the sponsor for us and she is not employed. She makes a very nice income from her pention and that of my deceased grandfather, and also owns property..so what do we do in this situation?

Employer letters are optional and only available, at best, to employed people. Your grandmother has documentation of her pension income, even if it is nothing more than her tax returns.

Thank you pushbrk, do you mind answering one more question?

I was reading that all sponsors for affidavits of support have to supply a copy of their passport. My Granny has not been out of the country for about 30 years and does not have a passport anymore. Is there anything else we can do to prove her citizenship? I am guessing a birth certificate although that's going to be impossible to get because she was born in a state far from where she lives now, and she was born over 80 years ago.

You will need some proove of citizenship, either birth certificate or pp

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support another question

Thanks Homesick for your reply but i still confused about some issues concerning I-864 form,
any reply from any one would be more than welcome

you said that the US citizen ( my wife ) has to fill form I-864, even if she is not eligible to sponsor me which is true because she is not employed, but her US aunt who is a Policewoman in Chicago Police Department, will sponsor me, So, you suggest that i can get all information needed for FORM I-864 from her and fill in these information by myself

1- But what about the notarization, i think such a document should be notarized from the US

2- the Embassy in saudi arabia asked me to bring them a photocopies of W-2, tax return and a letter of employer from our sponsor,is that means she ( my wife's aunt) could send such a documents via e-mail so we can print it out here and staple it to the whole finished package of my Immigration Visa, i hope so

3- Do you have any idea about when they issue a case number for some one's immigration process
till now they didn't give me a number for my case

4- You said CR-1 visa takes time more than K-3 visa, How many months, years you're talking about

5- Could any one direct me to the right place where i can find a Flowchart for cases similar for mine i.e. DCF from US embassy overseas for some one who has a legitimate residency at the same country where that US embassy resides.

thanks alot,

1. I-864 does not need to be notarized anymore
2. She can scan all documents and send it to too or mail it you via fedex like I did for my wife
3. They give you a case number once NVC sends your packet to the embassy
4. Looking at peoples timelines it seems there is a 9 month average difference but it varies from case to case
5. You can search by using this link http://www.visajourn.../filterlist.php

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAm I out of Admin Processing??

:help: :help: Disregard first post.. SORRY..

Okay, we filed in June 2006 under CR-1 .. We completed all paperwork(s) he had his interview in March of 2007. After his interview he was placed under Admin Processing.

Today, after beening on AP since March of 2007 I called the Visa Specialist in D.C.

She stated that all reports (clearance reports) have been completed in D.C and have been sent to Pakistan Embassy. She said its not up to the Embassy to see what will happen next... Based on the reports I am sure... (making sure no hits ect)

So, my question is.. what happens next? am I done? will they require a SECOND INTERVIEW? I just dont know if i should become HAPPY YET!

Thanks
Lilah

Email the embassy at PakIVInfo@state.gov with your case number, they should be able to update you on the status.

it take approx 3 to 4 weeks to get the green card, after you receive it take it to the Social security Office and apply for the SSN which takes approx 10 days.

You can download the form for SS from here: http://ssa.gov/online/ss-5.pdf

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPutting an Approved I-130 on hold
This question is for my cousin who is an American Citizen who is married and has two kids, She along with her husband and kids lives in Pakistan.

She is trying to convince her husband to move to US but while she is in this process, she was thinking that if she applies for the I-130 for her husband,
and after it is approved, is there a step where she can put the case on hold and move further when he is ready to migrate?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support (I-864)
Ali,
Looking at the instructions it states that "Make sure you do notcount any individual more than once, since in some cases thesame person could fit into two categories. For example, yourspouse (whom you would enter on line 21c) might also be alawful permanent resident whom you have already sponsoredusing Form I-864 (line 21f). If you included your spouse online 21c, do not include him or her again on line 21f."

So if you have included the dependent once then make sure you do not do it again in a different category.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A

You know what I had the same problem. What I did I printed all 4 Forms out and filled em out with a fine Pen. It is just a pain doing that cos you have to really fill in all 4 with a pen and you get tired after the first two lol.

I would print them out and try to fill em in with my handwriting,if you do it that way use a black pen!!!

I had to do the same thing. Every time I would go in to type the date, it would cut it off with the little + sign, so I very clearly wrote in all the dates by hand in black pen and made a little notation on my cover letter saying something like (please pardon the handwritten dates on the G-325A application - the form from the USCIS websit cut off part of the dates).

I actually opened the form in adobe acrobat 8.0 and modified the font of the the text feild and everything fit.
Attach the form and let me know the text you want to fit in it and maybe I can do it for you if you like.

For job dates just call Human resourse of you rprevios job and ask for a reference and dates and they will tell you them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTranslating documents into English

Hi.
New member here. Thanks for the info. I've been reading the board but haven't found the exact answer to my question.

I've gathered all the documents needed. The K-1 Step-By-Step guide is AWESOME. Thanks to whoever put that together. Like others have said, it saves $1500 on a lawyer who would just do the same that I could do myself.

Here's my question: My fiancee's documents are in Spanish (from Costa Rica). I have read many of you say that they need to be translated into English. Ok, do I need to have them notarized or certified? By who? Is there a firm that specializes in this type of thing?

Thanks for your help.

Get them notarized by a first class magistrate

What documents are you talking about?

Her husband died and she has a document (in Spanish) which affirms that. Also her birth certificate, her Letter of Intent to marry me, and emails between us to show ongoing relationship. She doesn't speak enough English to write it in English. Would I have her write it in Spanish, and have it translated here into English?

TIA

Get the doc translated and notarized, I would take the spanish correspondence and all phone bills

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAfter NOA2

After the NOA2 is issued, what is next along the road particularly at the NVC. What do I need to do to have everything ready for this. Sorry, I am kinda new to the forum and unable to navigate it...you can even point me in a good direction...but I would like to get everything ready to go as I am in Korea right now and have access to everything.

The downloads section for K-3 Visa's has a list of some forms the foreign spouse will need. You can practice with these forms

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAny success filing K-1 Independently?
I used an Immigration lawyer referred to me by AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association) for my N-400 (Citizenship) a year ago and it did not make a slight difference in the speed and I felt like I only paid to put a lawyers name on my application.
So when I applied for my wife's K3 I haven't used a lawyer and so far so good (Thank God)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp with G-325 form
1. She can keep dual citizenship
2. Since you will be submitting it with I-129f you can Check "others" and write "I-129F"
3. If you are a born US citizen you can write "N/A" in the A number and if you are natulized then this is the number you had on you green card and the CIS registration number on your naturlization certificate.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForm I-129F Question 10 Certificate of Citizenship

Hey All!

I am a USC and obtained this through my mom. I have my Certificate of Citizenship(COC).

There are two number on the COC, Does anyone know which of the two numbers are the Certificate Number? One number is an "A" followed by 7 numbers the 2nd number is an "A" followed by 9 numbers.

Also, Question10 asking for the COC #, Date, and Place it was issued. The date it was issued is easy cuase its stated on the COC. But I'm not sure what the PLACE of issue is. Can anyone help with this?

(this is my first of many posts i'm sure)

Thanks in advance!

1.The one that says CIS # is the number you'll use which is the 9 digit number
2. Place should also be oon the certificate and if not, you would write the place your mom had the oath ceremony as that's what I did

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAccidently sent just forms, NO EVIDENCE SENT!

:help: My fiancee sent only the forms (I-129F and G-325A), photocopies of our passports, passport pics and the cheque!

I just re-read the uscis I-129f form and realized that you had to provide proof of your relationship in the package too and am freaking out! He was under the impression that you presented that evidence at the interview process and they just run a background check at this time!

Our petition was sent maybe two weeks ago and we still haven't received our confirmation letter (with case number) that they've gotten it. Should we wait for the case number and then send a cover letter with all our phone bills, flight itineraries etc? Can you send additional information before you get a RFE?

HELP!
Liz (Canada)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved but sent back to USCIS for review????
QUOTE (Gary and Alla @ Nov 22 2009, 05:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello, welocme to VJ First enter your fiancee's information in your profile so when you sign on you can click on the "portals" above. This will take you to the Ukraine portals where those of us that appreciate the finer women in life good.gif gather and discuss Ukraine particular topics. You can also visit the Russia/Ukraine/Belarus subforum for good information.

That said...NVC has determined that they believe something in your petition is not correct. This happens sometimes, even the consulates can do it. USCIS will review the petition and either re-affirm it and send it back to NVC or notify you that something needs to be added/changed, etc.

You will not receive a notice for this, they (NVC) are not asking you for anything, USCIS will do that if needed. I do not know how long this will delay the matter

Hello and thanks for the extra info.

I added Ukraine to my profile info for my fiance. Her name is Tatiana.

You are spot on with the finer women in life thought ))))

I just hope it is nothing and the matter is resolved quickly...God only knows how happy I am with my family...and the sooner we can be together, the better life will be. I am sure of it.
