Man, I need to vent about an issue I've been having lately. It's Gmail. What the hell is wrong with it? It used to be so fast and dependable but now? It's so slow and I tend to send my freelance files with it but now? The smallest little PDF takes yonks to send.

anyone else notice this?

Rob and Mel...

Sorry to hear that... that's such sad news.
*hug*

I had a dog for several years when I was living with some friends in a house with a nice big yard. I had to give her up (to my parents) when I moved into an apartment as she was just too big of a dog to keep in an apartment. My parents just called me to tell me that she has been in the vets office since monday for observations. She has gained a lot of weight in the last year and a half (I gave her up almost 3.5 years ago), and the vets really couldn't figure out why. Well, now they have, they are almost certain that it is Cushing's Syndrome, caused by a tumor on her pituitary gland. Reading up on it, and taking into consideration her age, I'm not very hopeful. I am in fact quite crushed by this. :(

You're not going to have to do that are you?? Take an antihistamine?? SOrry, cakes... hope the swelling goes down.

Speaking of swelling. I am eating nothing but salad for lunch these days -- need to counteract some of the pie-eating I did over the holidays....
:)

Ugh, I'm going through another hive relapse. I've had them since I got here. Right now my left ring finger is extremly swollen. It hurts to have my engagement ring on, but it's so swollen it can't move. I can hardly twist the ring around.
I dont want to have to cut the ring off.

I am DYING to see Jersey Shore, I already have a thing for Snooki based on all that I've read about it. A friend of mine at work also watched it all over the xmas break and said it was hilarious and she doesn't even like reality shows.

I think you should just take a bath, relax and let that shoulder heal. I find that I carry all my stress on my shoulders and sometimes it feels like they're being sawed through with a HUGE blade....
Go have a bath, girl....
:0

Okay, changing the subject .... but I must admit I LURRRVVVVE Jersey Shore too!!! What is even sadder is that, being a teenager in the early 90's in the New Haven area of CT meant that I knew A LOT of guidos and guidettes and sadly used those terms back then to describe some of my friends

Okay, here's my vent - my shoulder is killing me and I have no idea why. I kept waking up through the night in pain. I have 2 more nights alone before I head to FL and see the hubster and my little boy .. so my plan was to finish my complete housecleaning (house is cleaner than it has been in a long time, it really is amazing how much a little boy and a big boy make it a mess!). If my shoulder keeps hurting, I am not doing anything except maybe taking a hot bath.

Well it's a website, none of us know each other really. But, that said, there's a level of respect that I find this board maintains really well, especially the Canadian forums. It's a really nice thing, actually and to be honest, I've cyber-met some super nice, interesting, cool people on this site. And it's not about saying FFS, who cares -- we're all adults but it's just the general eff you of the posts lately that strike a chord, that's all. Maybe Mal needs a hug, I dunno but it's not cool to ####### all over everyone for no reason all the time.

Aw, don't feel guilty, it's hard though right? You can't be at everyone's beck and call all the time. It's better this way rather than you building up bad feelings by letting them visit when aren't up for it. Next time they visit, you'll really enjoy it as it'll be wanted...

I am all talk and no action -- my guilt complex is quite large.
:D

grr, I am feeling a little stressed and annoyed and guilty....

my SIL called me yesterday saying they were thinking of coming this weekend because they found a good seat sale.... I told her it was too short notice... but now I feel a tad guilty... but I only have two days to clean and get ready for them besides the fact we don't have a lot of money right now because of Christmas and Vegas etc... and I know she will want to go out and do stuff...

I said it would be fine next weekend or something but the sale is only for this weekend...

And yes, that's what I meant.
I remember now, Rhi... I think we had this convo before. I am sheer genius, me and my awesome memory...

that's the suck, eh? It's extra hard when people you love place way too many demands on you without reciprocation as it's impossible to know how to feel about it.

The whole thing and the waiting is excessive to say the least. I think that their mandate is: Immigration is a privilege and not a right so... the don't feel the need to accommodate anyone no matter what the circumstances are which is unfortunate.

I understand their predicament, but simply because you're dealing with a situation out of your control, adding 6 months to your wait time just seems a bit excessive. The more I deal with my own Gov, the more it makes my head hurt.

VENT!!!

Photographers.
Okay, so i'm doing this freelance project and the company has given me a photo use. Fine. I set up the document and they've asked me to recolourize an item in the photo that was pink and to make it red. OKay. I do it. Turns out that the photographer is not happy with my colourization. Okay. I do it again -- just fool with the CMYK percentages and such.

THEN, we spend pretty much the entire morning going over his freaking photo credit and making sure that the PDF that I've created has a live link to his website on it.

Erm. So my coworker gave me this cinnamon themed present today with candles and this can of cinnamon stick spray. So I spray some on myself a little while ago after my shower and I notice that it's really strong. So I go to read the can and it says: "Spray twice to scent an entire room for up to four hours"

Oh. It's room spray... not body spray.

Never did I even question why someone would want to smell like a cinnamon stick either, that never crossed my mind. Perhaps because I love the smell of cinnamon.

Anyways this room spray has made me break out in hives. I love my life. sad.gif

We had the same problem during the summer and that was due to an amp dying. I'm on hold right now with Shaw because this tech can't help us without a service call. headbonk.gif

Ugh. Some people. Except when things like that happen, which is so common... do people not understand that once you put it out there - it's out there?

Unfortunately, they don't.

Because I know what I say on websites like FB may come back to haunt me, I have strict privacy settings and only allow friends -- all eight of them -- to view whatever I post. No one else, not even their friends, can see my comments and no one can add me to their friends list without my approval.

What really gets me is when people add their coworkers and even their managers to their friends list. I'd never add anyone from any work environment, no matter how friendly I am with them. The risk is simply too great.
