Well. No. But I called a couple days ago and the 'spiel' plus the way I've seen it play out, is that they schedule some CR1s have a break, schedule some K1s, have a break and repeat. So I figure the next best time to call would be probably the end of this month as it seems though they tell us 'second week' of the month, I've noticed the CR1/IR1s get scheduled at the end...

I find that I get all excited and stuff and then I call and get the boxed message and it's like someone popped me right in the balloon.

Yep, I agree with Wyatt. I also, sadly, have it on 'watch' so when someone posts to it, I get an email. Then I look at it and well... there's nothin. Big, fat nothing....

I am pretty sure that for CR1/IR1s the consulate give NVC the number of available spaces they have for interviews and then NVC schedules them based on who's been waiting and how long, etc., etc...

NVC, in our case, does NOT send our case to the consulate until we've been scheduled an interview. It's a pain in the butt, justcheckin... a bunch of people who have been waiting since JUNE just got scheduled for November. There are still some July's left and our case was complete August 12th. I don't expect to interview until January or February now. Which sucks. Just a awhile ago, the waiting times for an interview were about 90s -- not SO bad, now they have jumped up to about 120-150 days.
So... that's what I got for you -- I wish it were prettier news...
Good luck... if you can, please keep us posted if you do happen to get an interview? It sort of helps us gauge as to what COULD be happening...

I also find that if you haven't been scheduled -- you get the operator at NVC reciting off a page or a screen or something which I find, only adds insult to injury...

My wife's case was completed on August 4th and no interview date yet. When I call NVC they give me the handbook reply about scheduling on the second week of each month for the following month.

Hey Varba, I know, right? It's insane. I often think about saying something if/when I get my interview but nah, at that point I'll just be relieved to get it all done. I just don't get how they can be so bad at this when consulates with way bigger work loads are zooming through....
Anyway...
it's a rough go I'm hating the feeling of my entire life is on hold and I'm sure you must all feel the same way. And I don't even have a wedding to plan. But I will miss my first year wedding anniversary and that blows BIG time.

####### sister, I'd be mad at me too!!! I get so cheese off when I see people in our exact boat, country, visa and they finish well after someone else and get an interview first?? This makes NO sense to me and it's no one's fault but NVC/Montreal.... they have some s'plaining to do!

Congratulations! It's like they're doing a clearing out of old files, finally! That's great, you guys. I am scared of calling -- I got all excited a couple of days ago and called a couple of times but I'm a dumb-dumb! We only finished in mid August so... I won't call again as it's slightly depressing...

BUT, I am extremely happy that all of you waiting have received your interview dates -- finally now we just need to get Eklandon on that interview list and we're looking good for the CR1 June/July crew, right?

Ha! WHen i first moved to Montreal as a wee pup of 18, I owned NO SOCKS!! I'd come from Vancouver island and well, let's just say SURPRISE!!!
Shoes falling apart made me laugh -- sorry 'bout that.

January would work! He has family in Montreal, so that part is not a problem, but the darn snow they have there! We spent the last two new years holidays there and it was so cold that my shoes literally fell apart on New Years Eve last year. When we left the party, I had no soles on my shoes. Thankfully we were able to catch a cab back to the hotel as there was no way I could have walked back with all the snow on the ground.

The good news though, is that after approved, he has six months to get down here, so he can hopefully pick a weekend with no lake effect snow driving through upstate NY.

Now the NVC just needs to get a move on and let me electronically file my paperwork. whistling.gif

I'm wondering this too. Didn't they take December off last year?

I'm very happy they are scheduling November interview dates. My biggest fear after getting our NOA2 so fast is that we would be scheduled for an interview while we are in the Dominican renewing our vows at the end of November and into December. Thanks NVC for being so far behind! blink.gif mad.gif

I gotta say, dawg that really burns my toast too -- what's the rationale? I'm really sorry that you didn't get an interview -- I'm sorry for the others here who finished in June or July and are still waiting. They seem to really have this on a back burner lately.

The letter medical is updated to July 2009 - It gives you a full list of vaccinations required which were not on the old list that is on file in the guides section. The format is also different, probably not a big thing for those of you just coasting by but I've been hawking and reading over and over so its a change to me. =P

@I<3NVC =D We received our letter today, dated September 8, 2009. No e-mail, I checked the spam box too.

SO freaking odd how they do their thing, man. I wonder though, he/she said something about the interview being scheduled for a Sunday? I'd be happy to see a pile of us get assigned soon. I'd love to be included in that but I realize that there are a ton of people who completed before I did so.... I'm trying to be altruistic and magnanimous but I am clearly a big fat liar!!!

I know, and I've never heard of them before -- I need information like did they just get assigned today? Last week? Last month? I am curious as they completed at NVC after I did. and after a whole pile of people who finished in June.

Hi there! Just got back from a visit to Canada! While I was there, I found out that i got a job that I'd applied for before I left. For the past month I've made it a full time job to apply for jobs -- I created my online portfolio and just sent out resumes and personalized cover letters for each position I applied for. It paid off. I had about 4 job interviews and and 2 were for jobs that I really wanted and were in my field. The industry I work in is very soft right now in this economy but I've had a good run of luck. I also have another interview scheduled for next week which I'll now cancel since i have a position.

yeah, ti's hard work and the economy is crappy and it's easy to be overlooked but I just made it a full-time job and researched companies and made some contacts and spoke with placement agencies that specialized in graphic arts and it paid off but it was a ton of work. It was depressing and hard too -- sending out SO many resumes and cover letters and being totally ignored was awesome.

I suppose that's it, I also found that it DID make a difference enclosing a note on the CV and cover letter stating that I am allowed to work in the US legally. So... that's my thing... I JUST found about about this job so the relief/excitement is very new.

Man, I am SO sorry to read this post! Are you saying that you had your K1 approved and that the POE guard denied your entry because of an offense from decades ago? that they changed their mind without first advising you of this?

how is that possible? Is that even correct of them? i'm shocked at this. Wow. i am SO sorry to read this. I really am. That doesn't sound right at all. I'm sorry.

I tried to enter the US on Nov 27th and got denied.

I was in Secondary for almost 4 hrs and was in confinement the last 2 of those 4 hrs. I was denied because of an offense I had back in 1982, which the person that interviewed me said that he would let it go and if some of you remember, we had to go sit down for a bit, well that was the reason why. Well anyways the CBP said that he contacted the Montreal Embassy and had it changed, so my K1 Visa has now been canceled and I was given an I-601. This really bites, cause now it's going be over a year if it gets approved and I can't enter the US til I get a waiver.

I just sent off an email to Montreal to try and get some things cleared up on this matter, hopefully they'll reply back.

I will give you updates as to how we are progressing.

I hope that everyone else doesn't have this problem at the POE.
