CanadaHere's how NVC assigns interviews for MTL
I tried to do the exact same research that Mikey did, I did not come up with anything valid...
Steve -- it worries me that you're still waiting for the effect it'll have on our outcome but as well, yours...

have you called NVC and asked what the hold up is? You took your time with NVC completing your case but it shouldn't have any bearing on when you get an interview or not, right?

Forgive me if I've misunderstood that...

keep us posted eh? The only way we'll know anything regarding the Canadian interviews...

CanadaI gotta ask...
Can't say about K1 but as a CR1, I've gone a couple of times and have had no issues. I'm set to go this THursday as well and I always bring a billion ties to Canada with me. Letters stating my return date for both my jobs, my tenants' agreement, letter from landlord, paystubs with the most current date on them, screen captures of bank accounts (Canadian) and a copy of the NOA2... so far, haven't had to use but I would never travel without them.

I answer the guard simply and honestly and if the need to extrapolate arises, I'd never lie... .

CanadaWelcome To Tim Horton's, May I take Your Order?
I have a serious confession to make guys.

I do not like Tim Hortons. I don't like their coffee, I find their food way too processed and well, I'm not a huge doughnut fan unless they're homemade jam-buster type things.

I feel like a bit of a heathen or whatnot, but I have never thought Tim Horton's was anything great. OH and on that note? Call me a control freak but I do NOT like someone dressing my coffee for me. Never. I hate being asked that and I hate it even more then I get the evil eye the two or three times I've gone in and asked to dress my own damn coffee... .

It's my damn coffee! Some days I like it super sweet, some days I like it creamy, I don't feel like having to explain that to a Tim Horton's employee every time.

WHEW... that felt really, really good.

Hello lovely Mal...
Aw honey, in my humble opinion, the very best thing you can do is just make her feel like you are there for her -- despite the distance... I find that when my best girls are going the #######, the best thing I can offer is patience, my ever listening ear and a shoulder for them if and when they need it. I too find it hard to come up with the 'perfect' words so I make sure that they know I'm there for them and that I love them.

You're not stupid and lame, my dear -- we're all stymied in the face of other peoples' hardships.

This made me laugh like a monkey!
Slinging his junk around, indeed!!!

Burlesque shows are kind of fun, they're more cheeky, tongue in cheek sort of thing -- not serious full-on raunch, just light hearted teasing with sense of humour and some sex appeal.

smile.gif

PS, having lived in Montreal for a lot of my life, sex clubs and such are pretty par for the course, really.... nothing to see here, move along! And frankly? T'aint nothing wrong with a little fun play between a couple -- naked pictures and movies don't bother me none at all....

I think you should say it -- I'll be real honest here, it's hard for me to see the forest for the trees and I think I'm like most people -- we want OUR stuff finished and want OUR interview and such and once it's done, we probably won't care from minute to the next what, if any changes, are implemented, you know? It's a very monothematic way of thinking, I find but I sure wouldn't wish it on anyone...

Hey all, yeah that's what I was thinking too, as soon as anyone gets anything or hears anything post it here or somewhere just as relevant. As said per Bogart...

I agree with Trailmix... they WILL care and it's just frustrating, I mean absolutely NO disrespect, but all the other people from really high-fraud countries are ZOOMING by and into the US no problem, no waiting. Whereas we here in Canada, super low fraud are totally given the big middle finger.

I dunno. It's a big of a sucker punch to all of us who freaking crammed to get stuff in and done and whatever only to have to wait. If nothing goes on this month, I'm going to have to do something. Hell, I'm a writer, why don't I write an article about it?
wink.gif

And Flames? That's what's scary... we're just a very SMALL percentage of applicants and thus, statistics dictate by our small cross sections that NO other Canadian applicants are being interviewed either!

Sean's parents want us to "live together" before we get married, so we decided to wait out the 90 days, and then get married. It gives us 90 days to plan our wedding, so we are happy with that. This means he can't work for the first 90 days, and potentially for an additional 90 days after we marry and file for AOS until we get his EAD.

So when Sean's mom asked about our wedding plans and he told her, she commented, "Gee that's a long time for you to go without being eligible for employment. That will cause a strain on your marriage if you sit at home all day and aren't earning any money while she is working."

CanadaTold my bosses about interview date approaching...slight venting going on
OH my... this sort of freaks me out! Don't judge me people, but I told my boss that my husband is immigrating to Canada!!! I'm SORRY! But in this economy and the three rounds of layoffs we went through PLUS, I'm a graphic designer in the marketing department, chances were really high that I would get the chop, way more so if they knew that my leaving was imminent, you know?

So, while I stress and wait for an interview, I'm stressed as to how I will manage to get interview time off (used all my days visiting hubby) AND once it's all said and done, how I will tell my boss, how long will I give and if it will be a HUGE deal and if everyone'll be pissed at me. I also want to ensure that I can collect EI while in the US...

It's gonna suck. Plus, I fear too that they may suspect something and can my butt before it's time.

Chin up everyone, we'll get through this -- it's work and well, our lives outside of work are more important.

If I remember correctly, last year most people who sent back their packet around August/September has interviews before December.

They didn't really schedule very many interviews in December last year and then everyone from Septemer/October started getting interviews for January/February.

You should all consider themselves lucky that you'll all probably miss the December holiday season. That really slowed us down. I sent back my packet 3 in the middle of November and didn't get an interview until March. I found out about it in February.

lgg - They do a lot more than 20 marriage visas a day I'm sure. When I went the place was packed. I'd say they probably do at least 50-100 visas there a day - that's my estimate, probably more though. It is busy there.

Sister, I know. I'm already married but frankly? This wait makes it look like I'm going to miss celebrating our first wedding anniversary together. Maybe even Xmas. AGain. There's only so much time I can take off from work, I have no holidays left from visiting my husband and family. I can't just jaunt off and not be responsible and stuff. I'm also trying to save money so I can be an asset for my new life there.

It just sucks bo-bo and I feel like a HUGE whiner and in real life? I'm not a whiner but some bureaucratic power has my life by the balls right now.

It's not like I don't have happiness or hobbies and stuff here, I do and I have a good life that I've made and good friends but I'm not a young woman anymore and my prime is almost used up and I'd like to find a job and make a life in my new home but it feels like i'm never going to get there. Really? How many of us can there possibly be? If they did 20 marriage visas a day, 5 days a week, wouldn't that be doable? Why i'm bothering to think of such hypothetical scenarios is beyond me... Are there not enough wickets to push us through in Montreal since we're a low marriage-fraud consulate?

I feel like I could cry a lot these days out of frustration and someone else telling me when I can start moving on with my life.

I know you all know this and I know you all feel it too and I'm not ranting here for sympathy, i'm ranting here because I know all the eyes that read this can empathize.
Thanks for listening.

CanadaNovember interview in MTL
I can understand all that jazz and whatever, but I wouldn't mind waiting a few months if they would at least say "k, here's your date -- sorry it's 3 months away... " now it's impossible to plan anything or get cheap travel tickets or whatever. I guess it's just annoying as all the other counties process their interviews so damn fast -- people finish at NVC or send in package 3 and within a couple of weeks, they've been assigned their date...

i know, preaching to the choir, I does it!
