I'm wondering greenhaus...

You're getting your information from where, exactly? I don't think any of us has the exact/true answer to when/how/when or whatever.
I'm just curious, ifyou have some secret portal of accurate information, can you please let the rest of us know? Oh, this is based on your previous post where you said all June/end of July filers would get December interviews?
Best of luck to you, k?

OH an a PS???
We hashed out a visit for next month, to celebrate our first anniversary. This I am very happy about. I'm not an overtly mushy person but it'll be super nice to be together for our first year.

This makes me happy.

I guess we here in Canada are lucky this way, for the most part -- we can generally visit each other during this process so...

OH my god...
I freaking HEAR YOU!!!! My apartment is half packed, had a garage sale to sell all my ####### and have NO Idea when i'll be moving to finalize this process. It is the SUCK...

Oh... looks like i'll be moving in the dead of winter and that's always fun, no?

I also got assigned a sh1tty assignment at my job that I'd thought I was going to be done with... well, at least I have a job. You know what I do? I make myself feel a little better by saying, at least I can sock away a little more cash before I get down there. Well, so much for that as husband and I just hashed out a visit by him for next month for our first anniversary and I'll probably have to fly down for Xmas. Money we were hoping for the new house...
sad.gif

I work. A lot. I see my friends, I run and cycle and go for hikes. But I want to start doing all that there, every day here is another day that I could be moving on. I feel like my movement and progression has been put on hold. I don't like it.

I have days where I just want to freak out and I feel like I can't handle it. But... we talk every day, we laugh, we 'hang out' together but the waiting is taking its tole on my patience. I just want to be done with the immigration stuff to be with him BUT also so I can move on with my life. I have 3 jobs here.... will I get one in the US? I'll have to get my first car. I'll have to get a license. I am not a 22 year old girl fresh from school -- I have a career here that I'm wondering if i'll be able to transpose to the US... it's about being with the person that we love but it's also about taking the next steps in our lives as well. I feel like my life is standing still a bit and I do not like that.

And I'd like to get started with making my life in the US. Ya know?

yah... I know you know. I am ranting as well...
G'night all.

I would just like to VENT!

This whole process has been emotionally taxing. I don't know how the rest of you feel, but having my life on hold and not knowing what's going to happen is plain stressful.
Now that I have a date...Im just worried about everything going well on judgement day. It's one of those things you've been waiting for months and months and it comes down to that one day...yikes!
Anyways, I just want this waiting period to be over.

How have some of you coped with all this?

I sent my letter off and well, we'll see. It'd be nice if they could do a HUGE batch of CR1s too -- that would be great. LIke so huge that we'd see teh 10 or so numbers here on this site like you guys, the K1s, got. That would really clear up some backlog...

This sounds hypocritical on my part bec I was ready to jump off my balcony just yesterday... but you guys waiting will get your dates soon!!!!! I hope so!!! And maybe you guys will get Decemer!!!! Rememer, I was told to expect February just last week.

Anyway I still am going to write to the consulate (WELL maybe now after my interview tongue.gif heh heh) Just cause I got my date doesnt mean things are fixed now. I hope everyone who was considering writing will still do so, so the future fiance/fiancees interviewing in Canada wont go through the heartache we went through... or at least be given a MORE realistic time line so we at least have an idea where we will be tongue.gif

I am slightly obsessed with symmetry so looking at the tree bothers me... way more than it should and everytime he leaves the room I run over and fiddle with the ornaments. I am known to do this at other peoples houses too. tongue.gif

wow it looks really pretty! looks real too! so the only down side for you is that you have to stick on every branch. Seems like it would be frustrating / take a while to do with a large tree. Is it hard to stick them in or just time consuming? the hinge ones look decent, the one in the store did anyways. Only thing is they had some spaces on that tree between the branches and because it was hinged you cant relaly change the spaces to make it look more full like yours does.

Ours is hinged. You can play with the branches quite a bit, obviously not as much as one that is branch by branch, but with a little love, it can look pretty darned good. Our tree never has big holes in it.

Ya the tree I looked at was a little on the lower price scale for the trees they had, might also be why it had spaces in it ?

And then we tend to go see 2-3 movies and we cuddle in the theater! QUOTE (DeadPoolX @ Nov 26 2009, 08:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My wife and I faced this problem. She currently has a good -- but not great -- paying job in Canada while I was going to school. Immigration finalized as I was just a few classes from graduating with a degree in psychology (I had planned to go onto graduate school). I was told I had a limited window in which to immigrate or we'd have to start all over. So I gave up my degree, even though I was so close to finishing.

If I go back to a university here in Vancouver, I'll easily lose at least one year, probably two (and I couldn't still afford it anyway). I already have one degree in graphic design, but I'd be better off wiping my a$$ with it. The graphic design field has gone from well recognized and profitable to something most people feel the "kid down the street can do" (even though they're wrong). Illegal versions of Photoshop as well as the proliferation of new design programs has turned graphic design into a hobby at best.

So I'm basically stuck without a degree and looking for work in a job market that's terrible. My wife and I can't afford to live on one income for much longer and I've practically drained my savings. I've been here for a little over one year and during that time my savings account has gone from $35,000 to around $1,500. All of these expenditures have been on necessary things as well. We don't even give each other gifts for birthdays, anniversaries or Christmas/Hanukkah because we simply can't afford it.

Do I regret coming here and giving up any realistic hope of having a good career? Sometimes. I'm really happy about being with my wife, but there are definitely times I resent the move and even her. I know she didn't MAKE me come up here, but what was the other option? Do immigration all over again or break up?

To close this excessively long and wordy post, I'd like to impress upon you the importance he has for his career. Just because he loves you and wants to be with you doesn't mean he won't regret losing his degree. He may not show it or ever tell you, but chances are he WILL resent it. I know I do, but I'd never let my wife know that.
