So does that mean people getting a CR-1 can't collect EI? That's not what I've heard...

According to my phone conversation with EI on tuesday .. I am work authorized as far as they are concerned i am a K-1 but i believe that comes from the type of visa you have and not the I-94 card .. every visa type comes with an I-94 it is a departure record and used to mark the day you have entered the USA with your visa i could be wrong but that is my understanding from talking to different sources ... but you can also make 5 different phone calls to the same place get 5 different people and recieve 5 different answers .. like the 2 i made to social security and 1 said i had to have an EAD to get my number and the other said i didn't....

no, cr-1, or ir-1 do not get an I-94 card--in case anyone is wondering, lol

Ha! Glad you said that as after all this, I mailed it priority signature required and FORGOT to put an attention to designator. Oh well. :)

I didn't bother, and it got accepted and my NOA1 was generated the same day it was received at the CSC.
I just put the address and my return address.

I wouldn't worry about it either way.

I'm assuming that this is referring to your USPS mail notification saying that your package had been delivered?

I got my NOA1 by alll of the 3 available methods: sms, email, and mail.

After receiving the package it might take them 8-10 business days to send out NOA-1

Well, I've always thought that ones who have the NOA1 date as the day after or very shortly after, are putting in the date once they get the actual NOA1 in the post. I have both in my signature, the date the bit of paper was received, and the date on it.

Yepper!
Same with us. All went well.
Thanks a lot, everyone.

No worries -- we just bought a house and I had to submit a copy of my expired green card along with the extension notice letter. No questions asked -- got approved for mortgage :)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGC Extension notice and my mortgage...
Yep, this is my fear. And since they're going to be SO ignorant as to how this process works, they're not even going to even realize that the actual buying of the house is the most bonified way really for the USCIS to assess the validity of a marriage. So, i'm expecting some issue as no one who has not gone through immigration knows what most things mean. So, I'm just waiting for all the hassle to come raining down.
YaY!

As many times as I have dealt with mortgage companies, they are for some weird stuff just before closing escrow, and funding the loan. You have to hope the extension letter will work, with the explanation that you don't see any reason why your ROC won't be approved. However, you just never know what they may decide until the loan is funded.

My first mortgage, they cut the check with my nickname as my first name, instead of my legal one. The escrow company, my agent, and I, decided in was easier to conform all the other documents to the check and loan papers, then go back to the loan company and get another check. It was the last day of escrow, and this was after having the mortgage company try and change the loan terms within a few days of closing. It took threats of a lawsuit from two real estate companies, the escrow company, the seller and me, just to get that check. What a pain!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGC Extension notice and my mortgage...
I dunno, but to me, it makes sense that they would ask -- I was shocked that that was not one of the first things that they asked, actually. It's just that we are thisclose to finishing with all this loan stuff and THEN they're like, oh by the way....
But yes it makes sense that they'd want it. I just want to make sure that they're happy with that and my letter of extension. Like I said, I just wish the GC would get here -- it's been almost 6 months and I've had the biotmetrics done and everything.

Thanks to all who answer.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGC Extension notice and my mortgage...
Hi everyone! Thanks for your response with my query as to why this was taking so long. I have another question -- we are in the process of purchasing a house and we have sent in all my removal of conditions forms, they were sent in 5 months ago. So now... I have my expired green card and my letter of extension. Our loan is JUST coming out of underwriting and in QC and they have finally asked for a copy of my GC. I was wondering as to why they had not right at the start. Anyway... is a copy of my GC and a copy of my extension letter going to be okay, do you think? anyone else have to go through this?

Any other stories would be appreciated -- just wish my CG would get here already. So long and now that we're buying a house, we have even MORE evidence of a bonified marriage. Thanks a lot, everyone

Hi everyone! Hi Wyatt!! I'm not worried about the RFE, they are asking us to prove that we still live together. Makes sense to me. The document asks us for a copy of a lease or mortgage documents. We changed our address midway so I assume they're ensuring we are still a couple.
I just need to know if we are sending the right mortgage document. :)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWe moved... got an RFE of course
Hi there...
We bought a house and thus, have moved and I changed my address with USCIS and of course they RFE'd us w hich makes sense. So, I'm just wondering... what from our mortgage package should I send? I have the HUD docs that show the transfer of the new house and such and I have the tax assessment bill and as well, a copy of the bill we're sent from our mortgage company to pay our mortgage... Do you all think that this is the right documentation? it's hard to figure out which document they want, I figure as long as it shows a loan, a purchase agreement and the address, we'll be fine?

If any knows anything else or can add, that would be lovely. I don't want to send them the whole entire mortgage package as that seems stupid to me.

Thanks everyone for your help. HOpe your journey's are going well.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPreparing an RFE
Hi there,
it was because we moved, sent them a change of address and they want to see documents proving that we are still jointly domiciled. But yes, thanks for that! Should I place the ORIGINAL blue cover sheet or will a copy of it suffice? I am also sending them copies of all our docs unless there is evidence that they want the originals.

Thanks so much for your input And yes, I plan on sending the package priority courier too.

What was the RFE for?

When responding to a Request for Evidence it is extremely important that you place the blue coversheet on the top of the response you send to them. The VSC receives thousands of pieces of correspondence each day, if the blue coversheet is not on the top of the response it will be placed in "general" correspondence and NOT sorted as a priority, which may delay your case.

I also did priority mail with tracking for around $2.40 and everything was delivered quickly. Don't do signiture required.

Hi there...
Can you all help me and tell me how you prepared your RFE? I have all the the tax records for the time we've been married, copies of our Mortgage papers, tax papers for that property adn a copy of the joint bank account we share. I plan on sending copies of all these things, the blue cover sheets, copies of my GC and my PP as well as a letter and a list of all the things that I'm sending.

How does this sound? Any one who was successful, how did you prepare your RFE package?

Thanks so much,

Hey everyone! Just to let you know, I got my approval letter today. Sent in the RFE 3 weeks ago. What's odd? I was starting to get nervous as the due date for the RFE was coming due. I called them 3 times to see if they could tell me they'd received the RFE package. The could not tell me anything. The last update was from November 2011 when I first sent the ROC. Package. I was freaking as I'd lost my postal notice. I came home abd my husband handed me the letter. I was thrilled when I opened it. Nice timing, eh? I was worried.
So... That's that. Good luck everyone! The RFE wasn't so bad

Hi everyone... I'm on the November list and we also got an RFE!! There were a lot, eh? Anyway... just wanted to let you all know, we sent in the RFE info about 3 weeks or less ago and I found out yesterday that I was approved! Which is great.

Another thing? If you send in your stuff and call the NCIS, they are NOT going to know if it was received or not -- it's very annoying.

So yepper, done and done with this round and good luck to everyone else.

:D

Exactly. If the cheque cleared, that means they've accepted the package. They've almost certainly already generated the NOA1, and should be mailing it to you very shortly, if they haven't already.

My NOA1 was generated on the 3rd
My cheque was cashed on the 7th.
My NOA1 was mailed on the 7th, and arrived here on the 10th.

If they've cashed your cheque, I would expect to see the NOA1 soon.

Yay!

Ok, you Filipino girls. I do like you and all that and I am not the type to bait, but seriously, don't you think this slogan of yours -- WE ARE THE BEST WIVES.........is getting a bit too far?

And about posting pictures of couple who have a large age difference, well I can't because that's against TOS rules and I know where to stop even if I don't want to stop. But you can always check the Visa Journey Gallery section and know and see what others do see there. I am no beauty queen, heck I am fat and all that, but I am not married to a grandpa either.

2 things I have objection about this--- We are the best wife, foreigners choose us than anyone else.

Number 1-- Have you lived in any other household where the guy is American but the wife is from some other country and not Philippines? By your statement that you do make the bestest wife, you are insulting me and every other woman of other nationality saying how we aren't cut for loving our husband. I didn't use the word caring, because I am sure my husband can take care of himself, if he needed a caregiver he should have lived with his mom or could have hired someone.

Number 2--Do you really want to show your national heritage as being the chosen one as in a married material? Is that the pride that being a wife is everything in life, and that too a submissive wife, because a lot of you have attested in here that you let your man be the king of his castle. Really?? what about your own position, what about you being the partners, what about you having a say on finances and all that.

And don't tell me its only the foreign men who pry upon Filipino women. I was an avid chatter back in the days and would always get IMs from Filipinos enquiring if I am a male or not........to clarify I had asexual id, so no one really knew my gender by reading my id name. My husband has also got a lot of those IMs, hell even my 58 year old dad get those, girls asking money after 2 days because they are in desperate situation.

I don't want to keep ranting, but it would be nice for you girls to accept the reality. There are people who are looking for a way out of Philippines and they can and will do anything to achieve that. You read it everyday how an old man gets scammed by the young Filipina. I say it’s the fault of old man too, but whatever.

Try to be a bit more humble towards other people, not every one who isn't married to a Filipino is also married to a monster. If you think you are doing a great work by asking your husband the first thing--- If you ate the food or not, you are wrong. I won't toot my own horn but there are people who have done more than that and they do it every day.

Peace out!

For me, the best thing to do is to move on, be the best of what I can and try hard to learn from my mistakes. Whether the issue is relationship such as with your ex, with a friend, with a family member etc., good or bad - it's better to leave them behind.

Just wondering, i don't have an opinion as this sort of relationship as it is way beyond my scope of comprehension... but I wonder, if you sometimes don't have money for food for you and your children and if you owe lots of money for bills and such, how could pay for such an expensive plane ticket to Egypt? I work a lot and have no debt or children to feed and buying a ticket like that plus taking the time off would compromise me financially....

I only say this as I think that priorities need to be established for your children and your life first.

Hi Paris....
I hope you're working things out with HIM too... not just allowing the petition to resolve itself and then go to him with what you've got. Are you working it out with him? talking to him? And when you talk to him do you sense that you're both at a place of understanding and trust?

I think that this is a key thing... it should NEVER just be about the petition and whether or not it is approved.

I hope you're keeping yourself well... I find now is the time to lean on your friends a bit and talk to them about what's going on. Guide yourself always but let your friends be there for you.
All the best,
LGG
