CanadaI-130 question
Hi Heather and Matt!

Welcome, this place is awesome for help and such along the way..
15. Yes, list self-employed, occupation
17. Yes, list your husband's name.
21. You don't live in the US, right? So just put N/A for that then.
22.Put N/A for that as you're not adjusting status right? Use N/A for anything not applicable to you, btw

Hi,

Looking for some help with a couple of questions in section C. of the I-130 for my husband to fill out.

Question 15. Name and address of employer: I am self-employed as a therapist, should he just list self-employed and my address? Should we list my occupation?

Question 17. List husband/wife: I assume this is to have my husband's information (just double checking)

Question 21. Give last address you lived together: N/A? As we have never lived together...

Question 22.
Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status...etc.:
I am kinda clueless as to what to write here...

Thank you. I'm sure there will be many other questions along the way.

Oh my god. Going through this RIGHT now. Cannot sleep, wake up in the middle of the night with my head spinning. Nervous about the medical on Monday, nervous about all the stuff I have to do once that is done. GIving notice on my apartment and then after the interview, quitting my jobs and moving. I have the framework all laid out for a smooth transition, i have some wriggle room for errors but wow.

Cannot get my mind to wind down at night... I'm usually so good at it. And La Souris, I make lists all the damn time. I am the queen of lists!

// waking up because of "stuff" used to happen to me and I was going mad (waking up, not being able to go back to sleep, being tired, getting nervous of forgetting stuff, waking up the next night wacko.gif ) - I read that it can be helpful to write a list of the "stuff" to be done, to be remembered, and all before going to bed and it does help - I still do it when I feel too busy to remember everything. Some nights, I still wake up but I remember that it's ok, I wrote it down... and I'm able to go back to sleep.

Have a nice weekend smile.gif

oh man... those threads on that Phils forum are so freaking embarrassing. Oh my god. They belittle all women. Wives, mothers, daughters and friends and so on. They're just gross. I puke every time I go in there. Its the women needing to be ego stroked, "tell me how pretty I am, I am the most beautiful of all women!" and the men, who've most likely been burned or didn't know how to deal with a strong woman, lauding the virtues of the 'meek, little Phils girl"

all tongue in cheek, friends. But god. it's laughable and sad.

There is one poster there, makes me puke on my own lap.

I'm sorry, I've met a lot of American women who arent selfish, materialistic w**res. smile.gif

Me too.

Like my wife. smile.gif

I just peeked into that thread (because I saw a Canadian forum name had posted in it and it piqued my curiosity...) and was a little surprised at the stereotypes as well! Sure, there are surely SOME situations where the marriage is more of a symbiotic relationship than anything (USC gets quiet, polite, demure wife / Filipina gets green card, "better life" for family, potentially more freedoms etc.), but I'm sure that most cases are indeed based on love. That's why there are so many regional forums... Love can come from anywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if an Australian married a Siberian at some point.

smile.gif

Hey, question for you... I ordered my husband a gift online. I am so exctied about it, it's not a HUGE deal but you know. So anyway, I email the company, whom I've never used before, to ask if they'll let me know when the item has been shipped and if it should be there for xmas and a couple of other things.

I get an email back from them and all it says is, "Yep."

Really? This is your customer service? In this day and age, with the economy the way it is, this is how you respond to someone who has spent money, may spend more in the future and may tell others to do the same?

Really?
I called them to verify my questions and I asked this to the woman with whom I spoke. She apologized and said she'd assumed it was clear and such. I let it go and carried on.

BUt was I wrong to initially feel totally unsure about this company and thus, it's practices and such?
I can't even imagine answering someone like that.

Funny thing? When I am super stressed or upset, eating is the LAST thing I want to do. (see the thread where I spent a summer cycling from Downtown van to Horseshoe bay, I was heartbroken at that point)

I just find that at home, I have meats, cheese, bread fruits and veg. I will make hot air popcorn but I just can't keep chips or candy around. So, I don't. Easier this way if it's not there, I don't/can't eat it.

QUOTE (Wyatt's Torch @ Dec 2 2009, 01:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Oh, Lgg...I'm the exact same way, don't worry.

Unless I'm in a self-control PHASE, I have a hard time with self-control when it comes to eating. And when there are other stressors in one's life...well...self-control for a little thing like that can be trying, to say the least.

I probably gained ten pounds while working at Purdy's!

Man. That would not work for me at all. I cannot work around that sort of stuff or ice cream. Geezus I would balloon right up as I, quite honestly, have a problem with self control when it comes to yummies.

Oh man! Mary Walsh kicks *ss!!!! She is awesome and hilarious and a no holds barred kind of woman. I bet she made Palin look like a right #######.

QUOTE (Rob and Mel @ Nov 30 2009, 01:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I just read that a Canadian comedian named Mary Walsh who is on the show This Hour Has 22 Minutes showed up to a Sarah Palin book signing. She showed up in character and was baiting Palin. True to form, Palin showed how really stupid she is.

QUOTE
"I just wanted to ask you if you have any words of encouragement for Canadian conservatives who have worked so hard to try to diminish the kind of socialized medicine we have up there." Walsh shouted to Palin as she approached the table.

Palin's handlers tried to help her by ushering Walsh out of the Borders, but Palin could not be deterred. When Palin left the signing, Walsh caught up with her in the parking lot, where Palin suggested that Canada should get rid of its public health care system. "Keep the faith" Palin said, "because common sense conservatism can be plugged in there in Canada too. In fact, Canada needs to reform its health care system and let the private sector take over some of what the government has absorbed."
