Thanks so much... I would MUCH prefer to err on the side of caution -- we'll work something out whether he goes all the way into the lab to get them or has HR fax a letter -- but I would be mortified if they asked for something as simple as this and we couldn't produce and thusly, were held up...

Thanks SO much for your response.
LGG

Lgg, in all honesty we were asked for recent pay stubs. The interviewer said she wanted to make sure my husband still worked at the same place with the same income. But this certainly does not seem to be the norm, in fact at Montreal this seems to be rare and certainly not part of the requirement. I think you'll be Ok - is it possible to get a letter from HR, on company letter head, to show that he still works there at x salary? I highly doubt you'll need it but if it will set your mind at ease it might be worth it.

Good luck.

Yah, we have all that from when we sent our AOS package -- it all still applies but I'm just afraid that they'll ask us to verify that as to prove that it's current and if we don't have then we'll have to send it in and wait for them to take two months to finalize that.

Geez...
the above geez to ME and this situation, not to anyone that's been kind of enough to respond. .
:)

I don't recall bringing any pay stubs with me! i had a letter from her Employee--which way back then was the State Department, lol

Oh yeah... i totally sent them all the originals and on the email they sent with what to bring, everything checks out -- as in they have all the originals and such...

I'm just worried about the most recent paystubs!

Does ANYONE have any feedback, preferably someone who did the CR/IR1 visa interview? Did they ask to see your sponsors most current paystubs? Or was what you sent already for the AOS okay?

Awe..LGG. I hope everything is okay, but on the birth certificate, you should be fine. I mean, you sent them the original copy during NVC right? I don't know why they'd need another one. o_o

God, I'm starting to get SO panicked here -- I don't want to have to go through all this preparation and stuff only to be denied or delayed because of some silly thing that we didn't have...

PS
He was out of the state all this week on a business trip and didn't get back until last night which is why he didn't have time to check/redo them this week....

So guys, I'm wondering... my husband had copied his last five pay stubs onto a USB key but this morning realized that the images didn't copy. Are we screwed if we don't' have them? Do they ask for sure to pony up evidence that he still works where he does? We were wondering, would they call the lab to verify? If they did, that would be great as they could just say, 'yep, Mr. LGG still works here'...

should he go all the way into the lab before catching his flight to get them? I'm starting to hit a bit of panic mode.

Also, I have our binder with pics and wedding pics, lots of evidence of bone fide and an exact duplicate of everything that we ever sent them. Passport, Expresspost mailer, medical results....

I am also worried that I don't have another original of my long form B.C. just the copies I made for our records.

Gah!!!!
I worry that we'll get someone new who demands these things and then we'll be screwed...
:(

Wow.

WOuld have liked to have given that a read.

Occasionally I click on "View new threads" and it takes me to a list of recent postings, which leads me to some serious ####*d up threads! I still can't get over that woman, out of the goodness of her heart, took in a destitute, ungrateful wheelbound woman with MS at the airport (who was sent home to the US from a foreign country, after she was dumped by her MENA boyfriend she met online) and found herself in an awkward position of not being able to get rid of her.

I never found that thread again.

i used to be a CR1 in the upper forums girl and then I was OT for a while but it's a little much for me and now? I am Canadian all the way -- I just feel comfortable and accepted here. I sometimes read the Russian/Phils thread just for laughs (sorry no offense) and I read the effects of major family changes for the drama but I find it more depressing than not.

I search all the threads on occasion to see if there's anything I should know about but mainly? I stick to Canada...

Well, we'll have to see once it's updated but if it's not all, it is really, really close. Like just a month ago we were at like 25 waiting or something...

Yeah, the waiting does suck and Montreal's very slow. IF I were you, since you just finished your case this month, I'd mentally prepare yourself for a 3-5 month wait. I know, it sounds horrible but if you spend a lot of time thinking, we're next, you'll spend a lot of time being disappointed. I hope MOntreal picks it up but it may not be the case for awhile.

Your case will only get sent to Montreal once you've been scheduled and that's it -- otherwise it's at NVC.

I'd prep for the med stuff for you and the kids, make sure you have all your letters and such, proof of marriage and just keep yourself busy with kids/work and whatever in the meantime.
Best of luck..
LGG

well my case and my two childrens case is now complete at NVC
which is good news
bad news is NVC told me yesterday jan 19 2010 that they have already sent out files for feb appointments no more will be going out till march due to back log in montreal
their not even sending completed cases due to fact they might get loss due to over logged in montreal
sad news :crying:

if anyone has any comments on what i should gather for my appointment when ever it will be please feel free to give input.

was really hoping to be living with my hubby for our first year anniversary feb 23 :crying:

this is a very hard process and i just live a hour from border gosh so complicated

COuld just be I have a thing for EBG's Tracey Thorn! Love her work and her voice... .
Sarah Brightman kind of makes me barf a bit -- don't know why...

Hmm...you should check out some of Craig Armstrong's solo work. He was a BIG part of how Protection sounded, doing a lot of the synths, string arrangements and atmospherics. He's also done quite a bit of film work and has worked with Sarah Brightman (there's a great song called "This Love" that they do together). But he has at least two solo albums that I know of, and both of them have the same feel as Protection.

Protection, the album was abso-effing-lutely amazing!
Serious. One of the best albums of that time.

Loved it...

Oh yeah! It's fantastic. It's a real mood setter. It verges on creepy at moments, but the FEEL of it is rather akin to Massive Attack's Mezzanine (one of my all time faves), even though the music isn't like that.

I highly recommend it to YOU, dear Nevada. I think you'd dig it. It's headphone candy too. I'm a snobby audiophile so I say that about MOST things...but this album in particular has some very strange stuff going on VERY quietly in the background.

I can't wait for Massive Attack's new album in three weeks! Wooo.

I have actually NEVER heard of them. I am curious now. Only because they've been described as 'somnambulistic" and if you can fit that word into a description, I love it on principle...
:D

Dammit Sprail... now that you, my fellow kindred music spirit, has mentioned that you love them, I feel kinda bad about trashing them! Like I said, I have all but their very last album, so obviously I like something about them...but they're just never a "go-to" band when I want to listen to music. I guess I'm just never in that somnambulistic headspace!

Martha Wainright -- You Cheated Me.
Cafe Del Mar -- Sunshine's Better

Depeche Mode -- Strangelove (razormaid remix)
Fire Eyed Boy -- Broken Social Scene
Could you be Loved -- Bob Marley.
Cecilia Bartoli -- The Mozart Arias

CanadaTransferring money from CAD account to US account
How fast could I do this? as in could I transfer my two CCs from CIBC to RBC or do they put me in the beginner's line since I've never banked with them?
I could do all this, I will as wow, that would be great...
I bank with CIBC now and they've been godo to me but it would be nice to establish some sort of credit in the US Tout de suite...

So let me get this straight, my fiance could become a RBC member, get a U.S. RBC visa card, and start building his credit score in the U.S.?

Oh come on Dan and Ali... we were having SO much fun speculating! :D
THanks for that... that makes it all clear as a bell now.
:)

On the webpage for the Woking Medical clinic in Vancouver, there is a FAQ ... one of the headings in the FAQ is "Questions about results".

Question: I picked up my resulsts, why does the box on my results for say "vaccine history incomplete"?

Answer: That is the way the US government requires the form to be completed. The vaccine history shown on your results in ONLY FOR THE VACCINES THE US GOVERNMENT REQUIRES. It does not show your whole life history of vaccinations and is therefore "incomplete". Don't worry, this is okay.

Sooo I wouldn't worry about it, I am sure it is the same thing for all medicals :)

p.s. Holy spelling mistakes batman!

a lot are "Not ge Appropriate" so that needs to be taken into consideration.....

I think (i am stressing think here) That..a Complete Vaccine History would be a check mark on EVERYTHING>>>> and because we don't have to have certain things now...such as HapA or B, HPV and so on because you land in a certain age group...your Vaccine History would be incomplete...

soo...that is how i see it anyway... anyone?

And I know!!!! I am excited as anything for the interview! This week has been very, very slow for me! I just want to get there already. When are you off to Montreal?
We're leaving on Sunday!

yes, I'm doing some reading as we speak, about it. Actually its the Varicella vaccine that is related to Chicken Pox, which I already had in 1985 so Im good. I was just wondering what it meant. Obviously I woudl worry if the lady at the clinic had said anything different to me, but she said I was good to go!

PS, you scared me too! I first read it that you'd opened up the envelope they gave you -- I was like, NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Yeah, I think what the above poster said too -- an incomplete history that doesn't affect your standing. Someone else will verbalize it better i'm sure. I had the same thing on mine but the nurse at the clinic said I'd passed and was good to go so I paid no heed to that unclear phrasing on the form I was to keep.
