Hey everyone!
Nice to see some action here -- lemme just say, for the record, that while it's good to get USCIS approved it really turns out to be an approval to be approved for more waiting. Just an FYI....
But it'll happen for everyone soon enough, it has to, right?

Good luck to all my March/April buddies let's keep each other posted as to what's up.

See you all soon.

Hi there...
RFE for missing photos? Do you mean passport photos? Were they not up to spec or you just forgot to send them? Oh, you just said you sent 4! What the hell? Well, you're right about the not arguing part -- just send them what they want, right?

I'm getting all the stuff ready now. We're probably going to send them two separate packages -- petitioner and beneficiary as I'm in Canada, it's not a big deal to send it right there.

I'm a little nervous about sending original docs in the mail -- I think I'll have it couriered -- what do you guys do? Nice to meet you, btw...

I'm here, bored tongue.gif

and really going out of patience. We got RFE on June 24th about missing photos. On June 26th we sent them 2 more, although my husband did send them 4 with DS-230 package. Well, don't argue with NVC, it's not their fault they lost the photos. It's your fault they can not find them so please kindly send more... hahahaha Ever since then we are hearing the message on AVR: Your checklist was received on July 1st, please allow 6-8 weeks for review. Come on! You must be kidding me? 6-8 weeks to review 2 photos??? girlwerewolf2xn.gif

But we are waiting here... patiently... me and my baby mad.gif

Yes, it does good.gif . If not the same day, the next day. The message changes as soon as they update the system, which is usually almost the same day.

A tax transcript is something that you order from the IRS. It's free and it lists the most important info line by line according to their records for that year.

A copy of the return would just be from your husband's records, like an actual photocopy of the form that he mailed in to the IRS. This version needs the W-2.

The reasoning is that anyone could make up any old tax return saying they've made a million bajillion dollars, but the W-2 shows the income that the employer reported, basically proving the income. So unless you've got the transcript that the IRS created (proving it was submitted) you've got to show more proof that you're not making up numbers willy nilly.

actually, I think I got it. Copy being a photo copy that we make ourselves of the stuff we sent in and transcript being an official transcript from the IRS.
Thus the copies need the W2s as well?

If you scroll down to I-864 section.

I'm thinking, based on more reading, that this is an obsolete practice now, jsut like getting the last page of the AOS signed by the petitioner and then notorized.

I am sorry but it's really easy to be on track and then all of sudden get thrown when you read something that doesn't jibe.

I do believe that this is old information, tho...

Ah yeah, that makes tons of sense to me now. You need to have that accepted BEFORE you can pay the IV Bill and thus, send in the DS 230. Gotcha. I'm still waiting for the Choice of Agent to be accepted but our AOS fee was accepted today which is cool.

Oh and an FYI about the IIN, Invoice Identification Number... it is in the emailed AOS bill that athey sent you --- the operator cannot/does not have that info. Just be sure to scroll down all the pages and you'll find it. Not like I did that or anything...

~posted in Canada Section too~

Just wanted to say, I know I ask a boatload of questions and all but today, I really got a HUGE justification. After waiting, not too, too long, actually, at CSIS for 3 months, the NVC stuff is flying at us so fast and furious that I I can hardly breath. It made me feel a little wobbly about OMG, what's next, you know?

Anyway, I just wanted to say, you guys have been great. And I appreciate the patience given to me for asking the same questions more than once, in the wrong area or whatever. But holy moly, I feel like it's coming fast and without you all here for quick reference and such, I have to say, we'd be a little lost.

Oh and an FYI for anyone near abouts where I am in the process, when we got our Choice of agent form via email, it totally INVITED us to send it via email and to pay our AOS fee via the online service. It also requested that when we did so, NOT to send a hard copy as well as this could be a cause of delays. You just have to have constant access to a computer and the ability to create and use PDFs, which most of us do at this point.

just thought I'd pass that on to you.

Thanks a bunch, it's not over yet and I feel a little woozy with the speed if it but I wanted to say this board has replaced a lawyer and useless phone calls and pretty much everyone I've "met" here has been been nice and helpful -- if i can ever help anyone else with anything, if I know it, I'm happy to.

You all make a long, hard journey a little sweeter and easier.

lggNot TellingCanada2009-07-15 09:23:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS 3032
Does it take for this to be accepted? I emailed it to the NVC on the 13th but did not send a hard copy -- in the emails they sent us, the invited us to participate in the digital sending of our notices and such but writing OPTIN along with our XXX 000 000 000 0 NVC number in the message line.

SO we did. They implicitly asked us NOT to send a hard copy as well as it could cause a delay so, just wondering, how long does it take to process this? TNGIRL, if you're listening, I know what you were saying now.

Also, when they refer to 'packages' I'm assuming that with the AOS they send/email the i 864 forms and the list of items needed? and with the IV bill payment the DS320 and the list of items needed. AS we're pre-prepared for that, I'm going to assume that we can just use the forms that we downloaded and such...

Okay... I think that's the LGG question list of the day...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of support
hi there...
From what I've heard/read, they are pretty strict, especially with the most current year, if not all years. The whole point of the AOS is to prove that you're capable of supporting your immigrating spouse so all aspects of it have to match up and show that ability to support both you and your spouse.

But, that being said, I am not a sage and who knows what they'll overlook and what they won't but I believe it's better to err on the side of caution.

Good luck!
LGG

I have changed my name to my husbands, my birth cert. still stays the same and I used my old maiden name passport for all the USCIS and NVC stuff.

On all my forms and documents, I list myself as LGG Married name nee Maiden name on everything, just so that they know. I mean they can see my marriage cert and my husband's name and it all matches.

Do you think it's going to be a problem? for all our NVC stuff I did this? LGG Married name nee Maiden name.

Yeek!
Now i'm second guessing myself.

PS
For the DS 230, they ask for other names used so I felt justified in doing this. I am in the midst of changing my passport to my married name and will bring both to the interview.

Take some vacations instead of waiting...it took 14 days for them to process my email with DS 3032...that was the beginning of July, so unless a miracle happened and they are lighter on workload, kick back and try not to think about it.

The good thing is that after they accept it, you will get IV bill usually within 24hrs, and if you pay immediately online then 1.5 day later your DS230 cover sheet should be ready for printing...and DS230 on its way to NVC

Oh where oh where can it beeeeeeeee????

Hey all, i've seen an assortment of times for the acceptance of the choice of agent thus the generation of the IV bill? It's only been 6 days with a weekend in there so should I just chill out for a few more days?

besides, my police cert only got put in the mail on Friday and my husband is on vacation so it's not like I can do much with it, just wanted to see the next step bounce up to me.

Hello all you filers! Anyone still waiting for the NOA2, good luck they're coming!

Best,
LGG
