Moonhunt,

No USCIS officer is allowed to take a vacation until all July filers become citizens. good.gif kicking.gif

Now I am at the end of the line. mad.gif

Hey, Lyuba

Take it easy!
We don't want nasty, and rude USCIS officers because they couldn't take their vacations, right? ^^

I don't know how St. Louis DO schedule for Oath ceremony looks like.
I hope that after interview approved, you can get oath ceremony done before the end of this year, so that could be your christmas present. ^^

Unfortunate delay for Lyuba is updated.
Lyuba, it may be because interview officer took vacation or something like that.

Notes: 1) Sorted based on "Sent" date
2) Use coloring method.
Red color fonts from Interview is waiting for interview, and black color means whether it is done, and/or approved.
3) Do NOT change the font from Lucida Console to something else. It may BREAK the format.
4) "??/??" in Oath date means that it is appoved, but don't have date yet.

I got my oath letter couple days ago, just got the chance to write here. My date is 10/9/08. This thursday...It was so quick smile.gif)

That is great. I will let you know other things.

Congratulations!
With the troubles you went through, I think you deserve it.

What about Mr Zee?
I think he should be getting oath letter for this week?
pkmk, let us know how your oath ceremony goes today.

I guess SamFam is studying for Civic history questions for this thursday interview. ^^

In my case, I checked court house and they said they have oath ceremony scheduled for Oct 23, and 24.
When I had interview, I asked to interview officer and he said next one is already fully booked, so I have to wait.
I hope he didn't mean for November or December.
I wish everybody could get interview letter before thanksgiving holidays for July filers.
We have 7 to go for interview schedule.

Congratulations to those who passed their interviews and Good luck to those who have upcoming interviews.

As for me, I bet that in our little circle of July filers, I will be the last one who will get an Interview . Hartford office is 2nd in the country for being the slowest. A friend who filed in October of 2007 just had her interview this past Monday, September 29. But she was given the oath date after the interview, 2 weeks from interview date. So it is about 11 months after filing to get an interview and roughly 1 year from start to finish.

Count me in too as being the slowest. I'm in NY and have heard nothing since the FP appointment on August 25th! Would like to just have a date for the interview! blink.gif

Comparing yours with NYC_Prospect, you are about 20 days behind of him.
So yours may be around Christmas. ^^

give me some idea whether they took back green card during interview or not.
Somebody told me they ask for green card.

please answer asap.
thanks

For Interview, Adjudicator - Interview Officer - verified Green Card, and took the copy of it if you didn't provide it already.
You will get the green card back at the end of interview.

The time you have to surrender your green card is when you take the oath.
Until then, you will have your green card with you.

US Citizenship General DiscussionHow can I prove I paid my ticket?
QUOTE (MsAnn @ Apr 14 2009, 12:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey guys,...

Back in 2000, I was a wild child (j/k) innocent.gif who got a ticket while traveling in PA. I was pulled over by the highway patrol on an interstate who told me I had been speeding and gave me a ticket. The ticket said to mail payment to ### I don't remember but anyway, I DO remember mailing in the payment with a check. It was under $500. Now, I no longer have any evidence that I paid it except my word. I tried to get info on the ticket. Ok, here is the part I'm not sure about. I tried to get records from the PA state police (criminal record check) and all the paper says is my name, ssn, and dob, saying there is no criminal record. unsure.gif Is this because it's been 8-9 yrs and they clear out those records, or did I get a record check from the wrong authority, or was there probably never any record... ??? I'm so confused.

Is this letter saying I have no record proof enough that I paid that ticket?

If not, what can I do? unsure.gif

When I got the ticket, I was living in AR at the time. I now live in OR. I don't know if AR will give me a copy of my AR driving record if I don't live there?? Sorry, I'm kind of a dunce about these things...

Probably getting the copy of DMV driving record from your own residing State DMV will be enough.
If you want, you can dig up your Bank statement to check the copy of returned/canceled check for payment proof.
Your DMV driving record will show last 7 years' record of your ticket within U.S. since they will record the info using your driver license.
So probably your record in year 2000 may be removed from DMV driving record.

If your ticket is mere speeding/parking ticket, usually USCIS officer will not care much unless it is very habitual recurring habit.

When I had my interview, I told USCIS officer that I had a couple of speed tickets, and he just checked whether there is any DUI/DWI related one.
When I said, "no, only speed tickets", he just wrote down "speed ticket only", and went ahead without a problem.

If you didn't pay the speed ticket in 2000, your driver license should be revoked long time ago. whistling.gif

US Citizenship General Discussioncan I travel back to My country due to taking caring of parents ,after applying N400?
As other people said. it may cause the problem not just for your US citizenship, but also for your permanent residency.
So be careful.
Also after you become US citizen, you have to use US passport for dealing with US government by the law.
So you should have US passport to make your travel plan.

If your parents health needs you, you can withdraw N400 application, and file for I-131 re-entry permit for extended travel such as 1 year.
That will delay your eligibility for N400 restart from the time when you come back, but that's your decision.

US Citizenship General DiscussionWalk In For Bio

Fingerprinting doesn't take too long.
It is machine to scan the fingers, send it to FBI, and receive the result within 24~48 hours.
It is different from FBI namecheck, which will take a while.

So walk-in doesn't make big difference in processing time.
Normally walk-in is allowed for people to miss their appointment for business trip or other personal issues.
And you should have fingerprint notification letter to proceed.

Also depending on ASC office, they may not allow walk-in earlier than scheduled.

Basic 101 for USCIS is to follow their rule.
Don't assume anything for your convenience, or break the rule.
Anything outside of norm may delay your processing time.
Follow their rule. not your own rule. whistling.gif

My wife had her Biometrics done in April 2008 but was still asked to do another - this February. So there is no hard and fast rule, it may depend on their whim. Good Luck

According to FBI internal rule, fingerprint result is valid up to 15 months now.
Depending on US adjudicator - interview officer -, when it is approaching to 15 month validity, he/she can just go ahead with or without another fingerprint.
Fingerprint result returns to USCIS within 24~48 hours from the time when you take fingerprint from USCIS ASC.
So it is not a big deal for whole process viewpoint.
Therefore if USCIS adjudicator decide that there is a chance to complete the case before the validity, they can just go ahead without another fingerprint appointment.
But if USCIS adjudicator is more of perfectionist, or cautious about it, he/she can order another fingerprint appointment for just in case. whistling.gif

US Citizenship General DiscussionWhat constitutes Government issued photo identification?
Stop by local DMV, and ask for state ID - maybe Oregon ID, you are talking about-.

State ID is similar to Driver License except driving priviledge.
You have to pay for fee, and it has photo in it.

If her russian driver license have printed in English, USCIS may honor it.
But it's better to have State ID since it can be issued immediately in most cases.

Adjudicator can ask "any" documents or proofs during the interview.
So as other people said, better overprepared than hearing "Sorry".

Good list for checklist is following.

http://forums.immigr...ad.php?t=288288

The reason why you have to bring original/copy for interview is for just in case.

Just in case they lost the something in the middle.
Just in case they didn't receive it in the mail.
Just in case they don't like the photo you sent.
Just in case they ask for more info.

I brought full duffel bag of immigration documentation just in case, but they didn't even bother to look at it.
But if they asked for it, I was ready.

Immigration things doesn't have logic. It was so twisted, so you have to see from adjudicator's viewpoint, not from normal common sense. mad.gif

For your own issue... whistling.gif

Yes, I know how it feels like.
I've done with USCIS for my own issue. I've been dealing with INS, USCIS for last 13 years. headbonk.gif

Now I have to deal with my wife's case again. mad.gif
I don't know how much I gave to INS/USCIS for processing fee.

The signature on my photo is my regular signature, not full name!!! I asked the interviewer but he says to sign the normal signature not the full name. Sigh..... But when it comes to the part of the form he needs my FULL signature during the interview process he did say Full Name, Cursive or printed.

Now my full signature on the certificate will not be the same as on the photo. Hmmmm.

It may be issue, or may be not.

Since the certificate of naturalization will be used very rare, it shouldn't be a problem except post office and Dept. of State Passport application center.
If the US post office and Dept. of State Passport Application Center has no problem, then chances are very slim for occasion you have to use your the certificate of naturalization.
You can use your US Passport book for DMV, SSA, and other purpose.

Congratulations!

For Passport, in my case, it took only 6 days even if I use regular service.

For signature part, I got the certificate of naturalization without signature.
USCIS distributed another paper with instructions how to sign it.
Without signature, it is NOT valid.
I think according to instructions, you should sign fullname similar to one you did for photo.

For your reference, here is some info from the Internet.

KyngSilva, don't be upset!
Your good news may come to you with nice spring weather without you noticing.
When you don't need to worry about shoveling the snow, it may come with post-man ringing the bell twice. whistling.gif
Did you watch "The Postman Always Rings Twice" movie ? star_smile.gif

Just FYI:
With an InfoPass today, I went to my District Office to find out about the status of my case. The officer, who assisted me, checked if any decision was entered into the system & astonishely asked me if I already had an interview. I said yes and provided him the interview results form. He took the sheet & said, "I'm going to find out the situation on the application". He left & showed up five minutes later & told me he could not see the officer because he was on the phase of an interview. He could not interrupt him. He made a copy of the result sheet & then told me he would leave a note for the interviewer officer to look into it. He suddenly prompted the vibe saying "you should not be making inquiring about this case until if you do not hear from us for over 120 days". I said "OK, sir! I just wondered since he had said that he would be making a decision on the case on the Friday of that week". Then he said, "You need to make an inquiry only after May 20". I said, "Copied, sir! Thank you". That was my horrible InfoPass matinee! If God could just make an end to this psychological torture...
