Yeah, agreed. KNOCK ON WOOD is right.

How worried are you about NVC? I'm expecting a 4 month wait for NVC once we get the NOA2? You think that's being overly optimistic with them?

I don't know how that will be since I have an attorney who will be paying the fees and submitting our documents.  I can hope it will be fast  LOL  but don't we all?

So would you say the 11 months they're quoting is a good amount of time to expect the NOA2 nowadays? Just curious.

well, Im at 7 months now.  They have started to transfer April files.....KNOCK ON WOOD  but I don't see it taking 4 more months for a USCIS approval.  Im kinda worried about the NVC timeframe tho.....

But like I said

During the week. November 12th to 15th (the week had 4 working days), there were 16 approvals of which 2 seemed to be expedites. During the previous week (a full 5 days), they did 15, also with some expedites. They have definetly speeded up and I think we can expect at least 15 approvals a week from now. But with the backlog and the holidays it will still be a long wait for us April filers. I sill think we are looking at February before April filers start hearing consistently from USCIS.

Someone still needs to be held responsible for this mess.

I don't think it will  be as long as Feb for the USCIS to approve... It might take that long to get out of the NVC though

There was an approval on the 15th for a July filer. The approval was from NBC.
No, he was not a DCF nor an expedite. Just a regular filer.
So it sounds like the NBC is approving petitions now

How nice...blink.png headbonk.gif blink.png

USCIS also transferred my k3 application also..so there is proof that they are just ignoring them...just combining them with the I-130...I am asking Santa for a NOA2 for Christmas!

It kinda gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside just knowing the USCIS is doing everything they can NOT to do anything in a hurry...right?

Hi VJ friends,

I'm the USC and have been married to my husband since 2006. We filed our I-130 and our Priority Date is April 04, 2013 (sorry i dont know the abbriviasions).

My husband has been living here in the states since 2001.

Today i checked online the case status and i finally saw something diffrent but am very confused and conserned, i would really appriciate some help please!

On November 15, 2013, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed.

1. what does this mean? is there a problem?

2. will this dely the prosses?

3. Is being transferred something normal?

T.I.A

read this thread.. go back a few pages. all the info is there...

Mine was apparently transferred to Nebraska Service Center, Anyone know how their processing times are going?

scroll up and find the google doc link for April filers.  add your info. we can track it like that for now

I think as soon as I learn my petition has ACTUALLY left NBC.. I'm going to have to do some prank phone calls!
"You won 1 million dollars. Just mail your petition in and wait 16.6 months to get it!"

you can wave your hand and sprinkle fairy dust on the NVC, Mr. Tinkerbell... Call every single day next week to try and get your case number.  The week after that is the holiday week and I bet it will be a ghost town over there.

I received another email today saying that my file was transferred to my local field office, which is Tampa. I'm a little disappointed because it looks like that's a slow one.

Please read the thread going back a few days til now....And March thread.  you will see that they ARE NOT transferring to local offices. The three  notices are a glich in the system and you have to wait for your hard copy to find out which SERVICE CENTER you were transferred to.  NSC, TSC or CSC

Next I'm going to read file was transfered to Orlando, FL service center called the Magic Kingdom which your customer rep is called Mickey Mouse.. Haha.. When is this typo going to happen?!?

so we are all waiting in Never Never Land...right?

Sorry for the confusion. St. Louis is a field office, not service center. But mine did get transferred to and adjudicated from St. Louis.

But you were approved a while ago. They aren't transferring to field offices anymore.  I think it was misread.

Sorry, but where did this "OTHER" service center in Missouri pop up?  I was only aware of the NBC in LS and the OP in Kansas.      This is the first time I have ever heard of St. Louis.

So there is 2 service centers in Missouri? Are you mistake between service center and field office?

There is a field office in St. Louis !!  Not a service center.. AS far as I know and read from all the other threads and the USCIS post, They are being transferred to TSC, NSC and CSC. Not field offices.

Some people are getting approvals or RFE's after the transfers. But the percentage we've been seeing is negligible.  We're tracking the transfers in the March Filers thread via a spreadsheet if you want to get an idea of what's going on.  I don't think there's any use transferring all of our cases if we're just going to continue the same abysmal adjudication rates at a new location. If they don't improve the rate of adjudications, we're just going to wind up with the same exact problem that we've been having.

My thoughts exactly.... its nice to see the transfers but the approvals aren't measuring up.  Its the USCIS's way of making it look like they are doing something.... Musical chairs, ring around the rosie, or what ever game you can think of that requires you to  go in circles.

A friend of mine at work has a friend at work who married a guy from Spain. She is a late April filer. Today my friend told me she had contacted  her congressman who told her she was transferred to a local office.  I told my friend the Congressional office is blowing smoke. Its not going to the local office ( Which would be Philly)   I gave him the short story of VJ and how everyone is getting 3 notices. He said he would relay the message.

I think the contacts at the congressional offices have a special phone line they call, but that is as far as it goes. I think they just get the same stupid answers we get. And I would even go as far to say that we know more.  I do think it depends on the person making the inquiry tho.. If they push hard enough and ask specific questions, they may get better information but for the most part, I think they just provide the case number and accept the response given and just forward to us.  Totally useless if you ask me.

April 5th ..and not a single thing on my Petetion..ahhhh

They just started transferring April and so far just the first week. April 5th was a Friday.

I am sure you will hear something soon.

I hope they continue with the trend and transfer the second week of April next week.   My NOA1 is April 12th which was a Friday. So maybe I'll  see a transfer by next Friday.. I hope they get it transferred before the holiday week of the 25th. Alot of people take the whole week off for Thanksgiving.  The USCIS employees get to spend the holidays with their families and we get to sit on the edge of our seats waiting for them to work on our files so we can MAYBE see our spouses by early 2014.  God Willing

Called USCIS today, guy said my file is at NBC and should stay there. (who knows what that means) He said that NBC did not have a timeline for a long time until aug. 31 for I-30 petitions. And I should know between 9-11 months if my petition was approved or not. I asked if it was 9-11 months from the date that they posted their timeline in aug., He said no, 9-11 months from my NOA 1 (april 11). Thought I would share, I am staying optimistic, at least it is not the 16 month wait. smile.png He also said they should update the time line information on the uscis website in the next 15 days, And if I did not see the update.

This makes me happy..  They just proved their stupid "6 months from the date of this notice" is a bunch of BS.     Even though 9 months is entirely too long, its nice to know  its not an additional 9 months

I wonder what they meant by " should stay here"?   Alot of April filers are getting transferred this week.    I hate how we have to second guess everything we are told by the USCIS...

There was an approval over on the March thread this morning. It was about 8 days after transfer at the CSC.

The better get their transferring a$$es in gear and move em' out.  If I get transferred in 2 weeks while Im with m husband, at least I will have something GOOD to tell him.  He keeps asking me what the problem is with immigration.   I keep saying the same thing.   Good thing Costa Ricans are used to waiting on everything.    God gave him patience and Go gave me the ability to shop !!  HA HA HA

I'm looking at my hardcopy notice for the transfer and the Priority Date is actually blank.  The Receipt Date has April 11, 2013.  I don't see my priority date on the USCIS website either.

Are you here and your spouse abroad? and is the petitioner PR or USC?

Of those who have updated their timelines, Feb people were transferred to Nebraska (14), Texas (7) and Vermont (1 but this one may be an incorrect entry) starting with Feb 20. Of those transfers, 3 Nebraska and 1 Texas have received NOA2.

Guys,

VJ is fun to look at but you can't go by all that.  There are so many people who don't come back and fill in their timelines.   Once I get an approval, I doubt I'll come back either.  You can see next to their names when the last time they signed on to VJ. That might give you an idea of who is more accurate.  Alot of people pop in for 5 seconds and never come back again.

Just sayin..

Maybe tomorrow we will see a bunch of approvals come threw.  They all should be rested and ready to work after their 3 day weekend   ( lol   yea right)  maybe they will get approved overtime...  ( yea right again)

ALOT of retailer's are open on Thanksgiving Day this year.    It's sad... the people who work in retail are put in a tough spot... Most retailers make it mandatory.  Last year I had a part time job at a MAJOR retailer and they told us, it is mandatory to be available all day on Black Friday. I worked half the day but I had to go pick up my daughter and they gave me a huge problem about it and said  " if  you can't work when we need you, then we will just go find someone who can"  Needless to say, I left to go get my daughter...I didn't care what they said. They didn't fire me.

I feel bad for the people stuck in retail and forced to work on a holiday that used to be for families. Now it's all about making the most money.

I want to work at the American Embassy in Costa Rica. They get American and Costa RIcan holidays off.    LOL !

it wouldn't be so bad if they were appproving the April filers at the NBC while they transfer and approve March filers.  The person who planned this workflow should be fired.   It would be cool if they were adjudicating April but holding off on approval notices until March is caught up.... yea yea  I'm dreaming.

We are married 8 months today.  (sigh) cray5ol.gif

Being apart definitely causes alot of stress. It makes every single thing in your life much more difficult.

In 2 weeks I'll be flying down to spend time with my husband .. I can't stay more than 11 days because I can't afford to lose my job...   This will be the 5th time I've gone to visit this year.  25 times total to CR ( could be more... I lost count )

Next year we all will be able to spend every Holiday and birthday together and this waiting game will be behind us.  ClockWatch2.gif

There are 2 dates on the I-797C:

Notice Date - what we are instructed to enter as NOA1 in the timeline

Priority Date - what people refer to as PD

But there is no priority date for Spouses of USC's, so that date doesn't matter . The priority date is for beneficiaries who have to wait for a visa to become available. .  For Igor's list, you have to use the NOA1 date to be accurate.

So when I fill out my timeline, where it says NOA1 date, I should use March 28th? Not the date I actually received it?  I want to be sure I am doing this right for the stats to be correct.

Yes, THE NOA1 date is the date they received it and put it into the system..  Don't use the date it landed in your mailbox.

If they sent you a notice with March 28th as the day they received it  then you are a March  filer.   Remember, some people NEVER get a hard copy of the NOA1 in the mail.

Sorry, to be clear, PD date is March 28th, the day they received our application and is stated as such on the USCIS website.  We received our paper NOA1 by mail on April 5th.

whatever the date they used to tell you they received your file..  If you received it in the mail on April 5th... that's just due to slow mail... Use the date they used in the body of the letter

My PD date is March 28th, NOA1is April 5, I was transferred last week to Cali.

When you check your case on the USCIS website, what is the date they use in their blub?  On such and such a date we recieved your case for BLAH BLAH BLAH...

That is the "so called PD date"    I am confused as to why you are using March 28th as your PD date and NOA1 date as April 5th.    PD and NOA1 are the same date
