This one could be a reality. I remember reading a thread where there was a plumbing issue at one of the service center and 100/1000 of petitions were useless. I also think we might have been caught on the flooding that was in Missouri last week. Who knows...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO  I can't handle one more dumb reason for a delay

All right I essaged another VJ member which was approved on 08/09/13,feb filer. She said their petition was transferred to Philadelphia field office when they called on Aug 5th. I think in jjune-july it was transferred

hmmm   so much different information...

yesterday my lawyer sent me a message sayiing that files WERE being tranferred to field offices if they needed more work.

He didn't hear anything about the extended processing times. He kind of insisted that they are on track for 6 months.....

UGHHHH

I think by the end of August we'll see many approvals. I feel it.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I think its more like October for the April gang.

October would be around 6 months...  But don't get me wrong,  August would be a welcomed surprise.

"IT WON'T GO EXTRA LONG; I THINK IT IS AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE WELL WITHIN THE PARAMETERS; HANG IN THERE ON THE I-130, "

So .... If I didn't know about VJ, I would probably be dancing in the streets right now....

What is a stand-alone?   "the stand-alone Immediate Relative Form I-130 petitions"  i dont know this term

Back in the day, people used to file the K-3 along with the I-130.   If you just filed the I-30 without the K-3, you are considered " stand-alone"

Nowadays, the K-3 gets joined with the I-30, they get prcessed together and the K-3 gets killed.  So, its a bunch of paperwork for nothing. Although, with this huge delay, you'd think they would bring back the K-3 to get things moving faster.   But then again, nothing makes sense at the USCIS.

This is the email I just received....  hot off the presses ( so to speak )  not much help though...   12 months is unacceptable  but at least we know the stand alones are being shipping out We should be able to check the local office volumes however I don't think those figures are too accurate.

Hello Heather,

A review of our systems shows that Case MSC13909XXXXX, Form I-130 filed by Jennifer XXXXX on behalf of XXXXXXXXXXXXX was received in our office on 04/12/2013 and is currently pending. At this time, the stand-alone Immediate Relative Form I-130 petitions are being sent to the NBC for transition to the local field office of jurisdiction for adjudication.  Due to the current workload at the field offices, our current processing time for I-130 applications is approximately 12 months.

NBC will review and adjudicate I-130 Immediate Relative requests for expedite if the file is located at the NBC.  If you request to have this case expedited it needs to meet USCIS expedite criteria.  Documentation supporting the expedite request must also be submitted at the time of the request.  Information regarding the expedite criteria can be found at the link below.

http://search.uscis....pedite criteria

I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you,

Congressional Immigration Services Officer

Totally agree...if I knew 5 months would be the end I'd be cool. I set up my timeline here and it said the estimate was Feb or March 2014...oh goodness haha.

Are most people in this thread at the NBC? I've heard they can be faster than the other service centers but I'm not buying it.

When I first set up my timeline, The estimated time Was July.  Then July/Aug. Then Aug/Sept.. Now Oct/Nov.   A week or so ago it even said Nov/Dec. it has been a bit depressing watching it go up ... uP...UP UP UP UP.

NBC is  a service center.. I think you mean the field offices....   The one thiing about this forum is that there are so many things flying left and right.  Depending on who you ask and where you post it.

You gave me a mini heart attack when I read your processing estimate.  rofl.gif

I hope they hired a few hundred because at this point,  they are sooooo far behind schedule...and do we have to wait 6 weeks for these people to be trained?

Hi guys,

Fellow May filer here. Just thought I would update you as we wrote to our congressman's immigration aide about the near-complete inaction at NBC (other than processing filers from abroad) and how unfair it was that 1-129F fiancee approvals were flying out of the other service centers in the meantime.

The aide wrote back to say they had hired new adjudicators at NBC. That was all my husband said she said. So I guess they really are just holding all of the files in an ever increasing pile while they slowly get themselves ready to actually do some work on them. Eventually.

I think a similar thing happened at CSC earlier this year with fiancee visas, and as we have seen, the files did move quickly once the adjudicators started working on them.

Fingers crossed they finish their training soon!!!

It's nice to see April fillers in good mood. I know it's tough for all of us but we all gotta stay strong and our time will come.

We have to throw some humor into the situation....   otherwise it would be all dark and depressing around here

Since we don't actually know exactly where our files are... we can only imagine... HAHAHAHHA

All the files was in a moving van headed to Kansas when the truck got into a wreck and all the files was mixed up.. Now they are trying to sort them in order but will take additional time.. Approximate wait time 6-9 more months

or the truck got plowed over by a passing tumbleweed... all the files blew all over the highway.. then a twister came by and sucked them all up and dropped them all off in OZ....    The munchkins were hired to sort through them....  Small fingers = longer processing time 6-9 months   rofl.gif

Or maybe Sally forgot she left the coffee pot on when she was talking to Suzie.. The coffee pot caught on fire and burned half the files.. Now they are having to print them out and start from fresh?

Yea, I think that is pretty much what happened.      They can't go back to work until the government provides a new coffee pot and break room

We have so many feb I-130 fillers still wating for approval. And march and April fillers.

I'm sick to my stomachranting33va.gif huh.png huh.png huh.png

At this point I feel pretty comfortable saying we aren't going to get approved this month.. I haven't looked at May and June filers.. Are they even processing USC filing abroad anymore? Usually them are in like 2-3 months

I have to agree.  I'm leaning towards October.

I just noticed many K1 folks waiting for AOS in the US are getting 6 month delay for interview letters.  Let's hope they are about to concentrate on our I-130's!!! Here to hoping and for many approvals in the near future!!!

I don't feel sorry for them.  They are waiting  AOS in the US.

Tier 2 told me that if you are living in the US (the petitioner) your packet will most likely be processed at your local office

Tier 2 cracks me up.    Do you think they rotate the script?  Monday and Tuesday  they tell everyone that they all get transferred.. Wednesday and Thursday they tell everyone you only get transferred if they need extra info  and Friday is a free for all...   Spin the wheel and pick your answer.

I feel like they haven't been processing ANY or VERY FEW I-130's.... K-1's flew off the shelves. Now... maybe they are at a point where they FINALLY realize they better get their butts in gear and process all the NBC files.

Our MSC numbers all have a code that tells them when our 5 month mark is.  I guess we have no choice but  to sit and wait... as we already have been.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril 2013 I-130 Filers

You know days like yesterday I get upset because I see my paycheck.. 23% income tax then 8-10% sales tax.. Property tax ect and some reason can't get a I-130 under 4 months!! I just think maybe I need to go fire some politicians..

But I remember reading somewhere that immigration operates with it's own money so knowing I-130 filing fee $420 and amount of receipts received in April 58,379 = $24,519,180 in one month.. That is a lot of money for one month!! If it took 30 min average per I-130 working 8 hours per day 40 hours per week 4 weeks per month .. One employee could do 320 I-130.. It would take 183 employees.. Lets double that number for the people answer phones ect.. 366 employees!! Let's pay everyone $100,000 per year or $8,333 per month.. Employee cost is $3,050,000

$24,519,180
-$3,050,000
= $21,469,180 profit for month of April and everything done within 2 weeks..

No excuse for 4 month wait time except greed if you look at it this way

Hold on, you forgot to add in the 2 mandatory 15 minute breaks per 8 hour shift and a 30 minute lunch. Right there is an hour... now add on those few extra bathroom breaks/smoke breaks and Sally stopping over at Susie's desk to chat it up about the weekend. Hmmm. add in a few unnecessary meetings.  Vacations.... You can maybe count on 3 good hours of work per day.   I hate to be so sarcastic, but i think there is some truth it all this.  and yes, we did pay a fee ( and pay tons of taxes)....  All I want is services carried out. I want what I paid for in a timely manner.    Not too much to ask.  6 weeks would be ideal, but I'd go as far as 4 months for a backed up system.   I did not count on a notice being sent saying processing times are 6 months longer.

The response to my email this morning to the advocate in Bob Casey's office was a reply with the link I already received yesterday from the USCIS.   They have nothing more than I had.  It goes to show you, Immigration does its own thing.     I am afraid to tell my husband about a possible longer  delay.  I feel horrible.

From here onwards.

after reading the Feb thread I don't know what to say.  this is all getting really old.  My heart is down in my feet now ....  I sent another email to the advocate who submitted my request for information. I explained that people are getting letters for an extended 6 months processing time... I told her I want to know what is going on.

And now that I'm on a roll, I'm going to email my lawyer too.  I'll let you all know what that response is.

How many people like Obama? Republican or Democrat?

I think if we start talking politics....it will get ugly.

I think we can all agree that the immigration issue needs to be addressed.  I read somewhere that there are 4.5 million petitions through the USCIS and 11.5 million illegals who could possibly get rewarded for breaking the law with amnesty.  Those people are already with their loved ones.... and they will get to stay put even though they can't get immediate residency, they are still here.. NOT SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILY...  Those of us who followed the law are the ones who suffer...  That is the bottom line. As stated earlier in this thread..... the process should only take about 6 weeks.  TOPS !   Just my opinion

Yeah I thought it seemed odd too. I wont hold my breath for it, but I sure wont complain if it does get approved. I figured late Sept or early Oct would be reasonable time frame.

A reasonable time frame would have been sometime in JULY..I think you have to expect the worst and just be happy when something good happens. And still try to stay positive during the wait....  Sounds impossible, huh?

I had a foreign address when we filed in April, an APO box. Now I have a California address. The tier 2 I spoke with told me my file would not be transferred and would be processed at NBC. She also told me I could expect it to be approved sometime around the end of August. Either way hopefully us April folks will start getting approvals and NOA 2's soon.

originally I was hoping for the end of August... I got over that... Now I'm hoping for October. I never heard of a tier 2 person giving a timeframe  so MAYBE there is something to it !   I HOPE  I HOPE I HOPE ...

I looks like February is getting some approvals.

I have been seeing October 2012 for 5 months now.  So now I'm worried that everyone else is seeing somethings I'm not.

no Steve, Everyone is just making their own best guess....  They post those processing times to make it easier on them. They can still say they are within the estimated processing times.  So they don't have to act on anything because it isn't past those posted times.  IMO, it can be viewed 100 different ways.  How ever you view it, the fact is, we all have to sit tight .

Nothing will change the way they processing anything. No letter, no blog, not even a phone call.  Even the expedites are taking a while.

LoveMyTico,  As you know I'm filled for the K3 also.  So 5 more weeks and I'll be at 5 months for that.  I need to ask you where you see K-3's posted at 5 Months.  I only seee that at the CSC not NBC.  Also I have not yet found the 16.6 months for the I-130 so i dont know where others see that. Thank you

They updated the processing times today.

Check  the service centers for the K-3 processing times.  https://egov.uscis.g...TimesDisplay.do

Plus the 5 month processing time is what my lawyer stressed when he asked me to come in and sign the K-3 petition

I have yet to receive my NOA1 for my K-3.  We included the email/text cover sheet but that doesn't mean anything.  I didn't receive either one with my I-130.

I think its rude to shun people that have moved onto the next phase.  As long as it is only one or two posts and doesn't take the entire board off topic, then what is the harm?  I have found the people on this topic much more polite and willing to answer questions...we've bonded over shared frustrations and are willing to offer guidance and support and to share information with each other.  I've tried posting questions in other topics, but I always end up coming back to this one with my tail between my legs because I either get ignored or receive terse replies.

Its not as if those people are saying "HA HA HA! I'm on the NVC STEP and you AREN'T!"....They're just asking for information...lets be happy for them, guide them as usual and continue to make them feel welcome.  Who knows, maybe later on, when we are in that step and have questions, those people ahead of us will be able to provide answers....not so much if we are rude to them now.  unsure.png

Feel the VisaJourney Love! good.gif

Not trying to be rude to anyone and NEVER said " stop posting here" ....  But this is a thread for people waiting for an approval.. The NVC info doesn't apply to  us.(YET)  It is very difficult to read NVC information for the rest of us who are waiting. NOBODY said they are bragging or rubbing it in.

If I want to know something about NVC, I  goto the NVC or send a PM.  just sayin.

no need to get defensive. Just asked for some sensitivity.

I think SHUN is a harsh word and never anyone's intention.   ALl I said was it is  insensitive.   There are threads for each step of the way...
