Called NVC, agent Carl informed me that my AOS Checklist was generated on July 27th. Hoping it's a false checklist.  Haven't recieved the email yet, anyone know roughly how long it takes? (and please don't tell me 30 business day LOL)

didn't he tell you what the checklist was for????  they can see that !!

If you know your mistake, I suggest you re-submit a new AOS asap. I just wish I had done it in my case rather than wait for the checklist.

Else what will happen is you will have to wait an additional 2 months (30 business days= 45 calendar days+ time required for it to reach NVC + additional time required for it to get scanned).

that's why I never even included the dollar amounts for the prior years. I just put the 2013 amount.   and yes, as soon as I realized my lawyer made a big mistake, I sent the new one immediately. I didn't wait for a checklist  and I am so glad I did !!!

I love chick fil-a. I remember when Shannon was with her sisters for a couple months, their  Chick-Fil A was closing for 3 weeks for renovations. They bought 4 jugs of the lemonade.  <_<  Can't complain, it's so good. Mcdonald's or Burger King doesn't have nothing on them.

EW EW EW EW   McDonald's and Burger King.... YUCK YUCK   I can't even tell you the last time I ate at either of them.  Chick Fil A is closed on Sundays.....   I hate that !!

I got a checklist for the same thing. My lawyer took the total adjusted gross income and put it on my paperwork. You can only do this if you file a 1040EZ form to the IRS. I filed a regular 1040 and was supposed to put total income only. Losing a whole month because of it. Its ridiculous!

my lawyer made the same mistake but I caught it and sent in a corrected AOS immediately. I saved myself a month. Lawyers suck. I was so mad. After that I did everything myself.

Do you have a dated proof of delivery for your AOS package? How did you send it?

oh yeaaaaaaa  scan that puppy and attach it to the request.    waiting 30 days for review is one thing... but waiting 6 weeks for them to scan it in their dang system is outrageous .

How would we do that? In writing or on the phone?

the NVCexpedite email address .. I think its in Sayins WIKI

Here it is:

NVCExpedite@state.gov - to email expedite requests

A supervisor told me that requesting an expedite does not slow down your case.     So you have nothing to lose. They can only say NO....

include both names, NVC case number and 2 phone numbers for beneficiary.   If they approve the request they will call you !!!

GOOD LUCK.  I'm routing for  you !!  You were always super supportive to me..  I really appreciated that .

They didn't say! Basically we sent our package on 7th May and it wasn't scanned in until 12th June. So the actual processing time from scanning in until today and our checklist is about right at 30 days. But they still won't/can't tell us why it took them all that time just to scan it in...

I'm crossing my fingers for retirement from this thread soon too!

Since they have your transcript, maybe you can request  an expedite and ask that they send your file on  to the embassy and you can just bring the AOS with you to the interview.   Use the long wait for them to scan your package as a reason  and that you have been caught up in this mess for way too long.  Throw in a few other reasons.  It can't hurt to ask.. Really...  I would if I were you !!    I lost my job after my CC so I just brought a NEW AOS to my interview with my daughter as the sponsor. They didn't even really care. I offered it and at first they said no... we don't need it.... then I insisted they take it...  so they did.     I think it is an NVC obsession.

Thank you Lovemytico.... I literally cannot believe it. You couldn't make this stuff up. I have gone from upset to SO SO angry.

Nearly at 16 months and counting at this stage, and still have to get out of the blackhole that is NVC and get my medical and interview done...

Makes that wait at USCIS seem like a walk in the park!

I'm still not over the 11 months and 6 days at the USCIS.  I try not to think about it because it still makes me angry.   Now I am dealing with a lazy lawyer.   I can't believe some people are still at the NVC. I was just looking at some timelines and signatures..  Ellinora is still here too.   I am just floored.  When I see people who only spent a month at the USCIS......  smh    .....   They just have no idea.

I think she was involved in the drama on Friday night and therefore not in this thread for the rest of the month....

She was banned

Also on my hard copy NOA2 from the 9th of July is stated they had shipped it to the NVC then...

you should get another message saying it was shipped.  Mine only took 11 days from TSC to NVC but I have seen others take  4-6 weeks. I think it depends on how the service center batches their mail.

Absolute total nightmare. After 2 MONTHS of waiting for our AOS packet to be processed (we sent the f******g thing on 7th May) we call up today and we have a checklist coming our way. Turns out my hubby copied across the wrong figure for gross income, so we need to correct that.

Can I ask - people that have had checklists (or Saylin/someone that's seen this a lot) - how long after you return the offending items did you have to wait until case complete? Please tell me it's not another 1-2 months?!

Also, we will just need to resend the form, right? Not ALL the supporting information we originally sent?

In absolute tears here, I really cannot take any more. I feel like this will never ever end.

Katie!!!!!! I haven't seen you on this thread in forever !!    OMG  I feel so bad for you!!!!!  If you send in the correction ASAP hopefully it will only be  30 days !!    I wish I could help you !!!

My husband called NVC last night to see if they had received our case yet (we had an expedited approval at USCIS that was approved July 10). They told him that it will be 25 to 30 business days.

I was excited to get to the NVC stage, thinking it would only take a few months. Now i'm not so optimistic.

A USCIS expedite does not carry over to the NVC.    The NVC is way backlogged.  You will have to request another expedite at the NVC.  I suggest reading the NVC WIKI about 100 times and prep yourself.

I think it is coincidence. I honestly don't think NVC operators go "Oh gee whiz, so and so is calling 3 times a day, they really do deserve a case complete more than people who don't have the time to call"  That's my personal opinion.

I am also so much less stressed since I stopped calling every day. Personally, I can't stand the butterflies waiting on hold gives me and the let down when I am spoken to like a child. I never want to feel the way I felt the week I called every day.

the people who answer the phones are just operators and have no influence over the people who process the files and actually, I think they are even in different buildings,  They log every time you call and who  you spoke to .   I was disgustingly sweet to them and usually they were pretty responsive unless I got  Joy or Arthur.  I talked to nicer operators at night but there were a few really good ones during the day !.

I was tired of waiting so calling 3 times a day got me through.   Things change by the minute at the NVC, The day I got my case number, I called at 7 am..... nothing... but by noon I had my case number and was able to log on the CEAC

I always expected a let down... the phone call just helped me get through the day....  I don't like to wonder .... I am the type of person who needs to know what is going on... RIGHT NOW...

I guess people are tired of hearing the 30business days usual quote. I really missed Lovemytico, estrangais, Changnoi, Lucy, Sukie and the rest L ladies, am sure NVC misses them as well. They were determined to get good results and good news no matter what NVC says.

I read all the posts.... I get notifications on my phone.  I'm still here.  etrangais moved and started a new job and his wife is with him now. Lucybelle also moved back to the US with her husband but I think she still reads the thread now and again. She sent me a nice message the other day.

I used to call 3 times a day because it made it seem like I was doing something.  I spent  11 months at the USCIS with absolutely no way to get an update.

By calling, I was able to find out I received a checklist before the email was actually sent.( by  a day)  I was check listed  for my husband's birth cert. I found out at 1pm our time over the phone. I was able to send my husband to the city early the next morning to get another BC and FedEx it to me so I received it first thing Monday Morning . If I waited for the email, we would have lost 2 days.   I also found out by calling that they check listed me for 2 things that weren't required for Costa Rica and I was able to get a supervisor review ASAP.  It only took 2 days for them to remove the stupid items.  I was actually able to speak to several supervisors just by asking.   Also, when they gave me a CC and then took it back, I found out by calling. Then I asked for a supervisor who cleared it up that night and called me twice to make sure I knew it would be taken care of.  I received really great customer service from Sylvia. ( day shift supervisor)

I feel like I was on top of them by calling so often. Actually, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't call often.. but to each his own I guess.

They make alot of mistakes at the NVC.  You have to babysit them

Checked the ceac website for God knows how many times and my IV bill changed back to PAID. I guess NVC have resolved the problem on their portal. Shaujhe check yours to see if NVC have resolved the issue. This process is already a stressful and long process and I hope NVC does not give us a heartbreak and not let this issue repeat itself again.

You have to babysit the NVC otherwise you might miss something....

I used to call early morning, lunch time and 10 pm...   I didn't trust anyone at the NVC

Unless they've changed things, they ask for the last 10 years employment. But, I filled it out back in 2011, soooo

We made a  mistake and only entered 6 years of employment . My plan was to correct that during the interview....  You know what???   They didn't even care. They didn't even ask for the confirmation sheet.   The embassy was too busy asking my husband what my favorite food is and what kind of car I drive.  seriously....

Don't stress over that form.  Fill in as much as they ask for. but it isn't a big deal... they are mostly worried about the terrorist and trafficking questions

I think the only person on this thread that sent the IV package using the AOS barcode sheet is LRKO and she is away for 3 weeks so we won't know for a while if that went smoothly for them or not.  I believe LoveMyTico had a lawyer, therefore, she paid the AOS and IV fee at the same time, had both barcode sheets at the same time, and sent the packages at the same time.  A number of us on here, including Saylin, have agreed that it would be risky to send the IV package with the AOS barcode sheet.  It just leaves more opportunity for them to lose your paperwork and could cause further delays.

I think I agree because you are sending original documents. You would screw yourself if the NVC lost them because you sent them without the barcode cover sheet.    Hang tight and wait is my  advise.  I do understand why you want to send them together ..  The backlog is horrible.

Anyone?

I sent mine together and I also paid my fees on the same day. I had cover sheets for each package. I sent them in the same FedEx envelope.  Each package gets sent to a different unit.  It won't slow you down, you will have the same scan date and will probably get a CC faster ( IMO)  They probably won't get reviewed the same day but it will be very close.

We didn't receive any checklist for writing n/a or
None in the blank boxes. We filed the i864

WE filed the EZ and put NA in every single blank. and NVC accepted.    And when I filed the new AOS using my daughter as the sponsor, we used the EZ and gave it to the embassy during the interview.... They didn't even want it at first but took it anyway....  they only asked me who the new sponsor is...  I just said  " my daughter"    The embassy didn't even care...I was stressing over nothing.    I think it is a NVC obsession

Do you think so? Some people get to take their Certificates to their interviews though. Is it worth asking them?

I would definitely ask  FOR SURE...   We took ours to the interview because it wasn't required at the NVC.  but if that specific country requires it, they may want it at the NVC.... I would ask to speak to a supervisor. The most helpful supervisor to me was Sylvia on day shift.  She called me back twice, She did what she said she was going to do... She was awesome. Octavio on m nugth shuft was nice, but not the brightest bulb in the pack.

I already received a letter from our embassy that my petition was approved and is now eligible to apply for a Fiancee Visa. However, with no luck, there was a break in last night in our house, that letter was included when the man stole my bag. I need your help please. Is there a way where I can ask for a duplicate? Since I need that letter as part of the requirements to pass when I apply for Fiancee Visa. Where should I start? Should I be the one who will call our country's embassy? or my fiancee will call USCIS about it? By the way, I'm able to retrieve the tracking no. attached to that letter sent me since I copied it manually to one of my notes before for filing purposes. Thank you

I have a question.

I found out this week after calling Singapore a Police that they have changed the rules and now they send the Police Certificate to our home and not NVC. Also I could apply without the Check list but rather just use the Barcode sheet. So this is what I have done.

My question is this.

Should I call NVC now before they review my IV docs hopefully next week and ask them if I can take the Certificate to the interview. I don't want a checklist for it which I am pretty sure I will get then call them then they say wait 30 days for them yo make the decision. Does this make sense.

Still have AOS checklist that was scanned 22nd July but if I can take Certificate to interview I could get a CC when the review check list,

Would love your thoughts somebody.

Xxx

you can try but more than likely they will want the police certificate at the NVC.

Breaking News: NVC gave checklist to my Friend for writing N/A in I-864 form.. She called and they said her to leave blank space as mentioned in Instructions.

They are making All Loved one Frustrated now.

I hope others don't get this kind checklists.

possibly due to hiring new people to handle the backlog????  Maybe????  because others have gotten checklist for the exact opposite.     I put NA in every single blank space and mine was fine...    I hope they get their rules straight...
