I am really glad I found this site. I have learned so much. I had no idea how complicated it can all be and I never thought it would take this long to get through VSC.

Today I had to answer those annoying questions again. I stopped in at the local supermarket ( the one where everyone knows you and has to pry into your business) How is your husband Jen? why isn't he here yet? Did you run into a problem? Will he be here by the summer do you think? OMG I wanted to scream ! Also, there are rumors going aroud in Costa Rica that my husband was approved and the Embassy has his passport already. My husband and I laugh because WE don't even know anything yet and his passport is in my nightstand ( here in the US) . I asked him who he talked to and he said NOBODY. Its just funny how people feel the need to talk ######.

I made it a point not to tell anyone about his immigration progress because I wanted to avoid the blabber mouths. I only write on VJ what I find out and my husband is the only person I tell. Alot of people know I am waiting for him but they know nothing else. When they ask , I just say we are still in process.

ps how can he travel if you have his passport

I have his passport here because I had to make a copy for the attorney. He told me to hang on to it so it doesn't get lost. He doesn't travel so it doesn't matter. He only wants to come here. When I go back to Costa Rica for his interview I will bring it with me.

AWWWW I feel for you. I don't know how you do it. I can't really afford to go back and forth but my heart drags me. I can't go more than 6 or 8 weeks without seeing him. He doesn't have a computer so Skype is out. Although I am leaving a laptop for him this time so hopefully we can connect with skype.

I sent my husband a form to sign for a tax ID number. I am almost sure we can. If you read the instructions for filling it out it asks if the applicant has a visa. I know when I apply for my daughter's financial aid for college they will use my husbands income from Costa Rica so why can't I add him to my taxes. He counts as a family member.
Look up "Tax ID number" on the IRS.gov website. I printed out the form for my husband to sign. He was supposed to FEDEX it back to me but that was before I booked the trip for next week. He asked me this morning if I need it this week. I told him to forget the FEDEX. I will just get it when I am there..

HAHAHA I know exactly how you feel. I was planning on working on my taxes while I'm in Costa Rica. I just bought a new laptop so it will be much easier.
Everyone thinks I am crazy for going to see him every 6 or 8 weeks... My heart can't take being away from him...
I just got off the phone with him. He is working today and it is raining. I feel bad for him because he works on a motorcycle and he has to be out in the rain all day.... He's so bummed out
I told him when he gets here he never has to work on the weekends or at night.

my lawyer didn't ask me to get a police clearance yet. I am wondering if I should have Fernando do it while I am there next week. HMMMM Costa Rica is 100 times slower than any other place I have ever had to deal with. I hope that doesn't end up being an issue.

Julia is doing well. She will always have the tumor for the rest of her life unless it starts to grow at a rapid pace, then they will start meds and radiation. . I don't want to go that route because Iw ant her to grow up and have children and have everything she wants ! She already had surgery so they won't do that again, PLUS, the tumor sits right next to her pituitary gland. THey are afraid it is attached to the stalk that controls her hormones and pretty much everything else in her body !

Angie lips are very cool. I bet you are itching up a storm ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Feel better. Maybe a double shot of something strong will take away the itch and kill the cold virus you have. Two birds with one stone... 50mg of benadryl and 2 beers will make you feel wonderful.

Yea, I never had to take amoxicillin before in my life. I was like 30 when that happened. AND it was a 10 day script and I started the allergic symptoms after the 9th day. SO the meds were in my system for all that time. The whole experience made me afraid to take anything. I cringe when I have a headache and have to take motrin ( and I work for J&J , the makers of the darn drug)

I hate allergy season too because I am married to Zyrtec from april to June. My company also makes that drug.... you'd think I'd suck up my drug issues....

Well, if it's any consolation, the next phase is not absent of drama. Take a look at my thread in the NVC forum, and you'll get a nice slice of what can happen once you get over to the "other side". I think the biggest lesson I've learned from this whole journey is what we (those who chose foreign spouses) are willing to go through to be with our SO's. I'm now thinking that ALL couples (including american/american) should have to go through this prior to being issued a marriage license. The divorce rate would be cut in half.

I have my husbands passport here with me in the US. Can I get a certified copy here even though he is not here? He has the W-7 to sign and I will be bringing it back with me on the 10th. He went to work so I am here in the house by myself. He is working all night. I feel so bad for him. Tuesday we will be going to the mountain. Only for two days because he has to go back to work on Thursday. I am loving every minute with him. It will be really hard for me to leave. ( it always is)

I think it is a good sign that they approved the kids. I do know that they put the family members together. And honestly, I don't think they would approve the kids without the father. Maybe the adjudicator is just an idiot.
I don't think your previous marriage ahs anything to do with this case. You are free to marry 1000 NON-USC's if you want to. No worries.
I think this is your week. I kind of pre-celebrated today with my hubby. We drank a six pack of smirnoff ICE a little while ago.

Jen, my "congressional inquiry" resulted in being told that they were working on April first... Yeah... Oh, and that my case has not been assigned to anyone yet, and it may take upto 60 days to be assigned. So NO I still have no idea if my physical hard copy of the petition is lost or not. It can say pending till dooms day. If no one goes and looks for the actual paper, then we'll never know, will we?

Not only is the light in my tunnel off, but the whole tunnel is collapsed and filling with water and I'm drowning in it...like that movie with Sylvest Stallone... can't remember the name of it.

Yes I can't wait to see him. He was such a jerk last night on the phone. I was about to tell him to forget me coming on Saturday. Its a long story of why we have to re-marry, but its all okay now. We never gave up! The problem spands back to 24 years ago when I was a kid and was stupid and got married, but it was a invalid marriage, the man was married and had alias names, anyways long story, but took care of things again, and its all okay now. I will start a new time line when we send petition again. One good thing, a person can start over again, and we are together as it should be.

Immigration timeline dates changed to early July. What happened to JUNE????

I think the approvals are taking it easy this morning, yesterday was exciting here with approvals, and God knows, they deserve it. Your time will come very soon, and a hugh relief will come to you with a calmness as they probley feel this morning. Hang in there Dear, today has just started.

Getting a job in Costa RIca would be easy for me but I have to become a resident. I could do that very easy since I am married to a Costa Rican Citizen. But after what happened to my hasband today and the other day.. I'm not moving there unless I can live in the mountains away from all the crime. I can't take my kids out of the country anyway so it isn't even an option.

What happened with VSC? I haven't seen any approvals !!!! Its LIMBO LAND AGAIN !!!
