IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - March 2014	yes it is normal,,, mine also has expiration date,,,have you started the process yet?? It was just shipped to the NVC yesterday  I am praying it gets a case number and ships right down to Costa Rica .... My husband wants to make his medical appts  on the same day since he lives so far from the city.  Costa Rica will call him to come pick up the package. Once it is received by the embassy I'm going to call to see if they will email everything so we can get started. I don't want my husband to go pick up the package then have to drive back down to the city for appts .  Gas is so expensive over there ....     I can't wait to get this thing moving     some where on VJ there is a post about how to track your case with DHL to the embassy. Details are in my signature.  I have been trying forever to put my K-3 info in my timeline. I had a different email address back in 08 when I originally joined. When I try to select I-129f, I get an error saying I put in a wrong date. I have asked the admins to reset my timeline twice.  They sent me a message saying they reset it, but it is still there and I have the same problem.  If Saylin has a fix, I would be so happy ! I hope it works out.  Unfortunately, the TSC is slower than a snail. I wonder if if depends on what day of the month your file gets approved since they send the files over in batches to the NVC ?   Do they transfer files twice a  month? once a week? or when they reach 500 to a batch?    The letter I received from TSC the day after I was approved said my file was at the NVC. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - March 2014	Hey there! We also have a K3 which is already at the consulate. In fact the consulate is already waiting for my response for more than three weeks as we are still in the process of receiving a case number for the I-130. Our lawyers advised us strongly not to pursue the K3 visa as it's a another risk (for the AOS the government has more rights and data at hands to tell you "no" and the appeal process is very shady) and more money, while the whole process is soo close. Plus you have to wait at least three months on your work permit.    We decided to wait, but we have no idea if it's the right decision We definitely don't  care about the work permit..  and we don't care about the cost of adjusting.    K3 is the same as a K1 except you are already married. It was designed to speed up the process ( even though the process has changed over the years)     Why would they say NO for a K-3? and not for the I-130?  We have a waiver to file so we  would prefer to bypass this NVC BS.  If we go for an interview for K-3 or I-130 we will get the same result , we still need to submit the waiver before he can come home. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - March 2014	sorry to bust your bubble but K-3 gets administratively closed once CR1/IR1 reaches NVC.   I am pretty sure. Maybe others will not agree with me. Talk to NoelAnne.. Her K-3 is being processed as we speak so don't jump the gun on spreading the " administratively closed"  fable  !   The backlog is so bad at the NVC, Some K-3s are squeaking by.. So that is what I am hoping for.   I know the K-3 process well.  I waited too long for my NOA2 .. If I can avoid all this NVC nonsense.... That is what I am gong to do. I don't care about the additional $1000 dollars.   If I have to do the I-130 then so be it.   I will be calling for my K-3 case number and following it to the embassy.      Does the TSC send out a notice that your case is sent to the NVC?  Yesterday  I received 3 responses to all  the service requests I sent over the last few weeks. One response stated that it was responding to 3 inquires all at once ( LOL)   anyway, the response form TSC said my case is not with them anymore, that is was sent to the NVC and gave me all the contact information in the response.   SO, is there an officially shipped notice?  Will I get a text?    Just wondering Edited by LoveMyTico, 20 March 2014 - 03:41 AM. Then the address after that will be where you lived previously.   I'm not sure on this, but NVC may need an updated PCC with the current address. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - March 2014	You may or may not get and email that says that your cases were shipped out to the NVC. If your status doesn't change within the next few days, I'd contact the congress person again. I know that they're stating they have 6-8 weeks to ship it out to the NVC, but I'd start raising hell if it doesn't leave the USCIS within two weeks. Especially given the length of time that you've already been waiting. After it actually leaves the USCIS, it usually gets there within 2 weeks. I started calling daily about a week after I got approval. Then it's the long ridiculous slog to get the case number. Although your I129 might go faster.    There are two pinned posts at the top that you probably want to read. Or the new wiki entry that Saylin wrote. the plan is to pursue the K-3. I already waited so long, I am not in the mood to wait at the NVC. Hopefully the K3 gets a case number and flies to CR before they even know my I-130 exists at the NVC.   I couldn't care less about the adjustment fee when he gets here. I'm more concerned about the lost time and the time I still have to wait for the waiver ( that we can't even file til after his interview)   I'm no spring chicken.  Time is a ticking !!     of course that is only a "plan"  nothing ever works the way you want it when you are dealing with Immigration. We decided that is doesn't make sense to fly down now and then again ... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-601 Expedite Approval	Ok, my lawyer filed the I-601 with an expedite, does an approval come separate from the I-797 reciept, that says how much you paid and gives you the reciept number...or does anyone know if it should be on the I-797?? Thank you! Just curious, my lawyer said she was going to call and push the matter, and see if it needs more..MOstly wandering if you get a second notice. If you are approved for expidites. What is the reason for expedite if you don't mind me asking?  I have to file an I-601 and I have an issue.. not sure it would be considered for an expedite. I don't think I could stand another long wait   Did you get your interview?   So happy the K3 worked for you !! The only reason I wanted the K3 so bad is because there was such a long wait at the NVC  but look how fast I got my case numbers and how fast I was able to pay... There are people who were approved in December who are still waiting. There is no rhyme or reason with this process.       Maybe all those letters I wrote made a difference. Read the links under the first post.  It will give you a really good idea what to expect and instructions on how to proceed.    You have to call the NVC to get updates. They don't update their website. ( no surprise)  But you will find that the phone operators are really helpful. Not like the USCIS.   I call everyday for updates. Sometimes twice. The media will ignore it as a story because its exactly what they ran a couple of months ago and the politicians will not care.   As for USCIS management. I doubt they have the integrity and the honesty, let alone empathy.    If they did, Texas and Nebraska would not be involved. It would be done at Vermont - WHICH CAN HANDLE THIS STUFF !!!!!   If it weren't for the efficiency of the California Service Center, this would be a living breathing production of "Emperor Mayorkas has no clothes"  BECAUSE WE ALREADY WAITED 9 MONTHS, SOME EVEN MORE.    You can wait til April or MAY.. go right ahead...  We have already been waiting too long..  Some of us do mind this long wait. An Attorney filed my petition. so yea, Having an attorney doesn't  help with anything. I am in constant contact with the Senator's office ( since month #3)  Not able to make an info pass. You are closer to approval - we are being forced to wait till we get "seniority".  do you think Im sitting here doing nothing?   I have done it all multiple times. I was hoping it would be one of those electronic notifications with irrelevant text generated whenever USCIS moves a muscle, but that person got a hardcopy notice saying that?! Ugh. Yea, I can't even tell you how disappointed I am.   That is why I asked her if she made an inquiry before this happened. I want to see if she was told the same ####### a few of us were told about being assigned.  There is just no rhyme or reason anymore. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Monthly Transfer Spreadsheets in order	Please do not change anything with the august sheets.   Please change another month (read ANY month) prior to August or after AS YOU SEE FIT.    I have sort of taken up the task of adding august filers who have made requests and I will continue to tag folks on there.  COULD YOU PLEASE NOT DELETE WILLY NILLY   We don't agree with the suggestion about not having non-transferred cases in there.  It may not be useful to you but it is to the rest of us.    July is 95% done and I can update the August sheet based on inputs on the August filers thread (August cases will break in soon) FYI, the spreadsheets were created to track the transfers. At this point you are just duplicating Igor's list.     The transfers were supposed to get added as they transfer, NOT before...  If your timeline is updated, your name will appear on Igor's list for all to see. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Monthly Transfer Spreadsheets in order	The whole point of spreadsheet idea when it originally started was to track only cases that were transferred.  I mean if you really want to see all case status, transfers/no transfers, it can be pulled up in the immigration processing timelines on this site.  The whole idea in beginning was to track cases that were transferred after USCIS announcement.  It got out of hand as the google docs were open for anyone to input data and a lot of people added their cases without reading and following what the spreadsheets were about.  It becomes confusing when people do that in my opinion.  In past few weeks there has been more of an effort to make spreadsheets really reflect cases that were transferred only.  I can't speak of other months, but July is now only open to cases that were transferred.  The old entries that were put in before making clear are still there, but no new ones are being added that are not transferred.   Why even keep spreadsheets that were not based on transfer as this site already allows one to see all cases, transferred or not.  I hope I am making sense....  I know everyone wants to see their name in there as it makes everyone feel excited, but it can become very confusing.  A lot of people know these sheets to track transfers and when people put non transferred cases, then lots more question arise for others who are looking at transfer sheet saying why not mine...were they dcf, expedite, etc.  It clearly states these are transfer spreadsheets. Man I really don't want to do a competition over who has it worse.  But how can you possibly compare your three month experience with people who have been waiting for 9-10 months just for NOA2? 100% agree. No comparison. In a way it is permission. I have hardly any vacation and if my fiancé had the same we wouldn't be able to get married for 6-12 months after we decided to get married, then we file for a visa? Or we can take the option the government provides of getting a visa first then get married, thus filing immediately. But I didn't know that option was a lesser one and because we didn't get married first our relationship is lesser and we deserve to wait. When things get rough, it shows how people really are. I don't really care about spousal visas because I didn't pick that and if all I'll see if insults towards the other path of getting married and living with your partner then I'm done.
