I hope so... I really don't think they will nail me for not putting my expected income.  Its actually alot more than the total income from last year.   I am sure they will see that !

Oh yes, the EZ form asks for adjustment total income, where just the I-864 asks for the total income. They just like to confuse people! ;) Hope you get a complete case soon though!! 

the I-864EZ still uses the total income from line 22 on the 1040.. You use the adjusted gross income only if you filed the 1040EZ.  

 

I used the total income from line 22 on my 1040.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong :P.

1. If you have no alien number leave it blank.

2.You check yes, because you are sponsoring your husband because you are his petitioner.

3.It's usually the current income of what they're making for 2014, if you can get an employment letter stating how much she is currently making, (if no pay rises, etc) and it's the same as 2013's total income. Then that's fine. The annual household income is only for other incomes that are living with the sponsor that are combining their incomes together. 

4. As long as the sponsor is making over the poverty guideline threshold then you should be fine, (2013) and current :). 

5.You can leave it blank, or put N/A or None. Some people have gotten checklists for the blanks, some haven't. Personal preference. 

I filled out the EZ...  I now see that I put the TOTAL INCOME on both of those lines.....   What a dumbass..... UGHH   Well... hopefully because it is way over the poverty amount  they will let me correct it later.   They have my tax transcript, my 1040, my paystubs and an employer letter.    I think I covered it..LOL    This process SUCKS...  The incorrect AOS filled out by my lawyer had the same mistake but with the WRONG TOTAL INCOME.   I can only imagine the field day they will have with my AOS..

Yup, I used the EZ form too. You should definitely use it if you can. A couple of things to be careful with this form:

 

- Fill out "place of residence" in part 3. It tells you to leave it blank if it is the same as your mailing address but more than one person received a checklist for doing that, which is totally unfair for those people that did nothing wrong but followed the exact instructions. Either put an address (if it happens to be different in your case) or type "N/A" or "NONE". I typed **SAME AS 8. MAILING ADDRESS** and it went fine

 

- Recheck items 14 and 15 in section 3 after printing the form. I've heard several people miss them because some versions of Adobe let you answer these questions but then they go blank when you print the form. I saw it with my version too, so I hand wrote my answers with a black pen before mailing out my AOS
 

- Of course, type N/A or NONE on any other field that you leave blank

I just received two emails from them telling my I-129F is administratively colsed!

That's so strange.. I only received 1 email form them and it was the one that told me my bills were available to pay.  I never received anything regarding my K3. Not that it really matters. I guess they pick and choose who gets the emails

The NVC completed its processing of MD HAQ's visa petition.

The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in DHAKA, BANGLADESH. When an interview appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant, designated agent, and attorney of record (if applicable) will be notified.

Oh I fully plan on going into her office and being with her to check the documents she's sending in. And I will record our entire meeting so she can't snap at me for being involved. We filed our petition on September 10th and she told us multiple times that my husband would be here by Christmas 2013. All lies...

pft... ,my lawyer told me the USCIS would only be 6 months ......tops.... we were there 11 months and he did nothing the whole time....

It really is nice to have the morale support.. :) I feel a little alone though :( no one is talking about their checklists and how long it took to solve them - but there seem to be a lot on the spreadsheet. 

Oh well i hope our back and forth journey will help some one one day searching about lack of court records easily on hand- apparently they only keep them available for 10 years in Scotland.

there are alot of people who never come back to update.

 

 

I sent my corrections only 3 days after the incorrect AOS was sent. Neither one has been accepted.  I was told my file is under review now but I really think scanned and review is the same thing. Waldo would not clarify whether scanned is different than in review.

Holy moley. I paid $2500 plus fees. That's crazy. On the bright side at least he hasn't lost your stuff or basically called you an idiot. There seems to be a reason that lawyer and liar sound so similar...

we have a waiver to file after the interview.  I'm no good at writing especially something that is so important.. that is why we have him . The waiver is difficult ( at least fo rme)  I-601 hardship waiver.

 

My lawyer is not happy with me ... thats for sure. He tried to blame me because he forgot to sign my AOS package  because I pressured them to hurry !!    like 11 months wasn't long enough to have this all ready??? right??

I swear I should have hired one of you guys to do this for me since my lawyer is a royal screw up. She lost my tax returns and my original marriage certificate then told me I never gave them to her. Do any of you know if I can put a complaint against her to the BBB or Bar? She also told me I act like I know everything but I'm actually stupid and screamed at me to get out of her office. The only reason I haven't told her to stick it where the sun don't shine is because I know NVC is a bit shorter with a lawyer.

  My lawyer got offended when I  told him what the income number should be   not what he said !   And I was right.. and he forgot to sign the AOS.... un-freaking-believeable

He took his good old time so I just did it myself.  He sent me an email telling me to call and make an appt for the waiver. So I call and make an appt for this Sunday. He sends me a message and says the other lawyer and the paralegal need to be there so Sunday won't work. Please call to re-schedule.   So the office intern tries to call me but can't. Sends me an email saying he can't get a hold of me and for me to call him.  He lists an incorrect number.  ( I'm pissed by this time because my file has my number. I have been a client since 2008.haven't changed my humber)  I call back and explain that Sunday was perfect because I can't take time off from work. He tells me the first available appt is May 14th at 7pm.  I got annoyed and said that they have had 12 months to get information to me about this waiver. I haven't received any kind of checklist and none of my questions have been answered... He needs to find an appt that is sooner. because I am not going to this interview without a completed waiver. end of story. I explained that it will take time for me to go to the doctors and get letters etc.  He said he will call another client who has an appt on the 30th and see if they will reschedule. Their case is not as urgent as mine  ( well, IMO every case is urgent when you are paying a boat load of cash) 

He is supposed to be calling  me back within 15 minutes....

 

 

I love what $3300.00 buys these days.   and they still expect $2000 more before the interview.....   and I paid the AOS and IV fees and I will be paying the $585 . waiver fee. What a rip. I should have just done the USCIS and VISA part myself.

Priority date isn't an issue for IR1/CR1 filers.

 

Bangladesh seems to be a medium-volume consulate for Asia. Look at historical statistics for your consulate/embassy's volume of immediate relative visas here: http://travel.state....rt-TableXII.pdf

Submit all those things to NVC, and they'll forward them to the consulate when you get case complete :) Make sure you're using originals or certified copies.


ONLY 315 for Costa Rica in 2013....  not too bad.   That's like 6 per week

CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!

 

I emailed on Wednesday and put it to the attention of the DR and requested an immediate review of both cases for their #######-up of the civil documents. I don't know if it did anything but they case completed both parents yesterday! Jenny gave me the good news and I may have deafened her if any of y'all talk to her today ;)

I was told last night that when you get a case complete, your file goes into a queue to wait for interview appointments.  It is separated by country. You may get an interview a little quicker if there are less immigrates from the same country. She said there is not a specific time frame when they get scheduled. It depends on the queue

 

Amanda told me she doesn't see many Costa Rica calls coming in. So hopefully when my time comes... it will be pretty quick !

hey lovemytico .. so u mean we should wait till monday and try again ?

The NVC computer system isn't instant.. not sure if it is their way of controlling the workflow or it is just bogged down with so many processes running at the same time...  BUT  the error might be that it is still processing in the system. You can check back at the CEAC website every 5 minutes if you want.

 

When I received the email to pay both bills, that came around 4:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. I wasn't able to pay until Saturday.  The money was taken from my account but it didn't show paid on the CEAC  until 2 days later. 

 

 

The system is processing 1000's of other payments.    Just keep checking....  I'm positive there is nothing wrong. patience is a virtue.... Unfortunately I ran out months ago !  LOL

hey friends .. we need ur helo .. finally yesterday night  they unlock the status of our ds 261 payment to pay .. but when we tried to pay after clicking the payment  the next page is showing eror that no data recieved .. does any body knows its a broswer problem or ceac site problem? . while we checked both explorer and google chrom .. thanks ..

I could possibly take a day or two.  It may not happend immediately.  You know how sometimes when you go make an electronic payment, sometimes it doesn't show up until the system resets during the close of business for that day...

I have read the wiki that Saylin posted and I'm thankful for her and other people who have helped. But truth be told, I don't have the time read hundreds of pages. Besides, on the wiki it didn't say the 'risk' of sending the packet early. An option was just suggested what to do but not the risks.

If you are able to print out the cover sheet, I would go ahead and send it. It takes them about a week to scan it in and then another 2 weeks to review it.  I paid both fees at the same time on a Saturday Evening. Mine cleared my bank the following Tuesday morning very early. It took another day for it to show paid.    There is nothing set in stone. I have spent alot of time studying other timelines to get an idea when things should happen.

What harm can it do if I send the IV packet before it shows 'paid' on CEAC?

Its at your discretion. This subject is covered 1000 times a day.     Have you read the WIKI and have you read through some of the past posts? 


Looks like our documents have been received at the embassy today, almost exactly three months from when NVC first received them. Not too bad! And only 24 days until the interview, so we're falling right in the middle of the 4-5 month duration from NOA2 that I was predicting. NVC is probably glad to be rid of me ^_^

I am happy for you !!!  It must be a wonderful feeling just knowing you're in the home stretch.   CONGRATS !

She was serious about the winds.  I live in a very rural area of upper New York, and only have satellite broadband and TV.  Both my internet and tv reception yesterday just sucked.  Anyone who depends on satellite transmissions can relate.  You don't want your digital payments packets broken up - the transmission will fail each time.

Maybe this has nothing to do with the NVC, but it has been windy in the Philadelphia area the past few days.. I have had difficulty getting a good connection when calling my husband on his landline.  I end up having to call his cell....   So I don't know if it is the tower my phone is accessing or over there in Costa Rica.   Wind causes huge issues.    New Hampshire is up near NY so I don't think Amanda was lying.

How does the interview scheduling process work per your conversation with her?

The embassies submit a schedule to the NVC with their available appointments. there is no specific timeline to get an interview.   Once you get a case complete, you go into a queue for an interview that is separated by country.  So I guess it depends on the number of immigrants for each country.

just talked to Amanda..  There is not a computer glitch at the NVC... she said they had high winds yesterday and it might have caused a problem but they are fully operational tonight, It was only delaying the payments....  nothing else.  

 

She explained the interview scheduling to me. Costa Rica is not a country that has a lot of calls coming in.     GOOD for me !! 

I should hear something next week 

 

someone actually picks up the physical file and processes it. I asked her if everything was scanned or just the coversheet...  Just the coversheet...

 

 

She asked me if I was the law office... I had to laugh... I told her I can't get them to wrk for me on normal business hours... they wouldn't be calling at 9:30 pm..  She was laughing... What a nice person ..She said  I sound so professional.... :rofl:

I have Metro PCS.  I only pay $65/ month.  unlimited data/voice/text and that includes unlimited international voice to a landline and unlimited text.

We use whatsapp alot because its expensive for him to text internationally. He can receive texts for free so I usually send a message with a text an he jumps on whatsapp and continues the conversation,

 

you can check their website to see if your country Is included.  There is no contract and they also have a "bring your own phone" program.  I bought an unlocked  Samsung Note from eBay and I ported it to Metro PCS

Alright folks, I think the NVC is currently working on mails scanned into their system on the 9th of April. my packet was scanned into their system on 4/14 So from the look of things, I can deduce that we will receive case complete somewhere next week. I hope I get a June interview though.

I'm a day after you  plus 3 more days for the correction....Maybe they will work Overtime this weekend.  Its not a holiday weekend    thank God !!

I called back and spoke with Gina.  Very nice!  She says it is not a browser issue, but an issue on their end.  So everyone who has received notice via email in the past 3-4 days...it is a problem on their end.  Gina says a) mail the payment in  b) maybe the system will be repaired by the end of the day or tomorrow!

So I wonder if that issue overflows into the rest of their system...  maybe that is the reason why they have slowed down lately

Is your husband gonna be able to come to the US after the approval at the visa interview? or do you have to wait for the waiver before he can actually come to the US?

No, since he is in Costa Rica he has to wait it out until the waiver is approved.   The illegals get to stay in the US while thier waivers are processed... ( not sure why our government decided that was the way to deal with it ) 

 

 

That's why I am in such a hurry.   He went back to Costa Rica ( on his own... not deported)   almost 2 1/2 years ago.  The 11 month  USCIS wait was horrible  and now we are in a hurry to get through the NVC to get the final leg of this journey  under-way.
