IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I just got off the phone with Jenny at NVC. I have to say that she is one of the nicest operators I have talked to there.   Some good news, my IV documents were reviewed and accepted on April 28. Unfortunately I received a checklist for my AOS documents. My reply to the checklist was scanned in on May 6. I asked good ole Jenny if she had any estimate of when my AOS would be reviewed and she said "They are currently working on May 6 and some stragglers from May 5. You should call back after 9:30pm. You might have case complete tonight."   She also gave me the standard 30 business days spew. OMG.  everyone who has a date up to May 6th needs to get on the phone tonight. He's truly a gem to stay up so late just to see me <3 ANYWAY, I'm calling again late tonight. Really don't want to, but if they're working in shifts then I plan to ask the Agent tonight about that. Also, the night agents are always much nicer in my opinion.   You have to go back to USCIS? Oh my goodness. Where can I send you a condolences card? Yes, NSC rules the I-601 waivers.  I am at their mercy.   Started at the NBC, transferred to TSC, shipped to NVC , going to the embassy and then shipped off to NSC ( what a ride )   But my husband is worth it !! Aurthur can be Mr. Nasty Pants.... .....  Its a good idea to magically disconnect the moment you hear his name.....  I changed it up a bit and called for updates in the evenings for while until I recovered from the Arthur Encounter. He was so-so today. He tried to cut me off but I asked another question and he started to look it up for me.    I can see him being Mr. Nasty Pants. Joy still wins the prize for Nastiness.   I can only imagine their watercooler conversations about the people that  call everyday !! LOL     I'll call later this afternoon too. I don't care. I paid the fees. Its their job to answer the phones. They are lucky there are people like us so they have a job.  Right?   I would be awesome at answering the phones over there. He looked up some information for Costa Rica.  He said as long as it is from the registry we should be fine.  and then threw out the  "please wait 30 days for us to review your documents"   I know its only Tuesday.....  Hopefully something this week or early next week before  the end of the month !!!  COME ON NVC.. The one I sent is the long form I think in Dominican Republic it's called "acta inextensa" and the husband legalized it (so it comes with a barcode and some stamps on it" . Don't worry as much ull prob get someone that knows what they are doing fingers crossed The one my husband's mother gave us is the original. When I unfolded it to copy it I had to be super careful. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Thank you will tell my husband to have them done by his Dr wow that is way to much money.       What do you mean by the last part is there some other medical exams he can take at his Dr's or should only the vaccinations be done outside the specific Dr's on the immigration list?  So sorry just want to be 100% sure.  So thankful to you. Nope, you only go to the Dr. listed.  I just sent my husband to get his immunizations early at his family doctor because I know how my husband hates to part with his money !! Had a glimmer of hope when she asked for the beneficiary name and date of birth, and then she realised that she had typed in the incorrect receipt number and gave me the '30 business days' script. No case number yet. Sigh. Wonder who I will get when I call later in the week... Lexi and Joy must be pals !!   I'm on hold right now....   I wonder who will pick up for me... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Just got off the phone with NVC they said everything was checked yesterday and that I sent the wrong Birth certificate.... Smh I sent the correct Birth certifate it's the long form and legalized! Urgggh I spoke to Lisa and she said she will get someone to look it over booo now to wait for that sigh..... wow,  now you have me worried.   The only birth cert my husband had was the original LONG form. (legal sized) It is yellow and has the registration numbers going down the side.    If that's not good enough, my husband will have to go downtown to the registry and get a certified copy.  That will suck. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Oh wow I didn't know you could do this thought you had to have them done with the Dr's the Embassy has a list for.  Nice I'll will tell my husband then since they last a life time it seems. Thank you so much. I'll have to find the list of vaccinations needed.      If anyone has the list I won't be upset if you post them. Will look on Saylin's list.    Ok found it but seems that it would be better to see what the Dr's say since they can give you only what is needed due to your age and health so you might not have to have them all done.  Hummmmm what to do.    I'll see what my husband wants to do it's his arm.   Last week my husband took his vaccination record to his family doctor with the list of what is needed for immigration. He needed 3 vaccinations. His insurance covered it.  Had took care of it so he wouldn't get slammed with a $400.00 bill  at his medical appt. I would suggest getting whatever you need before your medical appt.  They will charge top dollar for the vaccinations at that appt.  Just because they can.  And if you decide to go elsewhere and go back  to save money, they will charge you the Medical fee again. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	HECK YES!!! After being on hold for 1 hr and 12 minutes we have a case number!!!! The gentleman said they just now got it into their system so for me to wait 10-20 days and that they will send me and email with instructions.  My question is with me having my case number now what can I do and not do.  I mean I have everything except the passport style pics for my husband and myself?? you don't need pictures of the petitioner. And  you don't have to wait for instructions. I haven't received anything from the NVC so far.    and what we did for our pictures... The instructions say 2X2 passport style photos so my husband took a selfie and sent it to me through whatsapp. I sent it to my email and cropped it using the tool they have on their website.  I sent it to Walmart online and had them delivered within 1 hour to our local store. The Walmart photo guy has a 2X2 passport photo cutter. So I just had him cut 8 for me.   They turned out really great and I only spent like 4 bucks.  I have extras for his interview too   I didn't want to spend the money for FedEx from Costa Rica. I haven't even sent an opt-in for Canada... did they do that automatically with the email on file? this is so fast I cant believe this... what in the world is going on... Don't ask why...    just pay !!!  LOL   I got my case number the same day my file arrived at he NVC..  I don't dare ask why..  I'm just going with it.  Now I'm just waiting for CC.  I've only been at the NVC since April 1st. It took them forever and a day to get your I-130 over to the NVC but now you're flying !!   Now.... throw some good vibes back down 309 and let me get this case complete.    I so want get this interview over with and submit that waiver so I can be with my husband at Christmas time. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	I believe that for the interview in Paris we must also bring a pre-paid envelope. Haven't reached that stage yet since I am only waiting now for them to review my packages and complete my case. So when I am relieved that my case is complete I can start looking into those details. I believe that in Costa Rica you have to go back to the embassy  and pick up the visa. There isn't really a good postal service there . Every time you called to NVC, Rep has to pull up your case. They only look at your case online. They don't pull you actual file.   That would take forever.     I'll call 3x per day if I want to. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	As you can see from my timeline, still waiting to pay   , I hope will be available tomorrow!  We have a lawyer and I hope he doesn't take his time, he has been on vacation since last week and the paralegal too!  We can't wait for this process to be finish soon....  You will probably get your case # tomorrow, keep on calling until you get it.   There is another member on this thread that has an attorney also. Their attorney paid with money orders or certified checks and it is taking a while.  Ask your attorney if they pay electronically or if they send a check.  You can pay yourself even if you have an attorney. I was able to pay Saturday in the afternoon. I waited till 8pm because I was still wondering if I should wait for the lawyer to pay or if I should just go for it.  After a conversation with my husband, he told me to just go ahead ( as did a few people on this thread)  I am glad I did .. I am sure I'd still be waiting.       Point of the story is... mine became available on a Saturday afternoon.   I have a feeling Monday is your day!        I don't understand why they are making people wait so long for a case number. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	I will be very interested in the "cut-off" for 2013 tax data on the I-864.  NVC received my AOS packet on April 10, but didn't scan it in until April 15.  I'm pretty sure I'll have to come up with my 2013 return/transcript, but don't know whether I'll get a checklist for it, or whether my spouse will have to hand-carry a copy to her interview.   I filed a paper copy of my 2013 return, and the IRS won't even tell you where it is in process until 4 weeks AFTER you mailed it in.  I tried to check on it today using "Where's My Refund", but when I chose the "paper" option, the screen told me I had to wait.   *IF* I have to mail a copy of my tax return (transcripts for paper files are estimated to take 8 weeks to come online), do I really have to write our case number on each page?  My tax return is complicated - it's 80 pages long, and I have about 40 pages of 1099 data.  The return is too big to staple together, so my only choice is to put a binder clip on the pages.  Of course, my return has my name and Social Security Number on each page.  Do you think I can get away with putting the case number on the 1040 pages, and then staple the 1099s together and put the case number on the first page of that?   Also - will the NVC just ask for my tax return, or will I have to fill out a brand new I-864  with 2011, 2012 and 2013 data and sign it? I sent my paperwork on the 9th and it was received on the 11th...  We have the same dates.. I hope we get CC  at the same time !    I do have the revised AOS 3 days behind so   I guess we'll see.      It sucks  that we are just sitting here waiting for them to review our papers.  I HOPE it only lasts the 2 weeks.  If I have to wait any longer I will go nuts.   My sister-in-law keeps asking me when I am coming back to COSTA RICA.   I keep telling her I have no idea !! ! But the checklist held us up about 3 1/2 weeks! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	In my case the AOS fee was taken out of my account in 4 days (3/13 ~ 3/17). Of course there was a weekend in between. Although, the IV payment was taken out in 2 days. I have a feeling that although the process is online, NVC initiates the withdrawal of the funds from their end. I don't think the NVC holds any payments and waits to process them.  I think that is illegal.  It really depends on your bank.   Some banks have different policies. I  think that is why they don't allow credit card payments.  Sometimes a bankcard puts a hold on funds and then it may take days for that to drop off.  Payment taken directly from the account with the routing number is much faster. Here's hoping you get CC before the June scheduling is done!  Thats what I am seeing too....  2 weeks,,,,,,   so w are cutting it real close for the end of April.   Watch me call the embassy and beg...... I mean  ASK for a May interview.... My son is graduating High School on June 12th.  I need to be here for that...The way my luck has been lately...  That will be our interview date too... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Hi everyone,   Just wanted to know how many times did u call NVC for your case number? and is there a particular person to look for? I have read the Tier2?  I am hoping to get the case number for my I-130 before they received the approved I-129f..   My husband filed for a K3 but luckily we go the approval of the I-130 in 14 days and some said that we will be processing the I-130 petition. I have seen the status of my I-129f and it says that my Alien Number was changed and I know that after that, next will be approval and if it will be approved, it will also be sent to NVC.    I also read  that  "If the NVC receives the approved I-129F petition before it receives the I-130 petition, the NVC will process the I-129F petition."    Any thoughts will be appreciated..thank you :-)           Don't worry,  they will close your K3.
