IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Quick question - for the IV package (trying to prepare) the wiki says to send a photocopy of the beneficiary's bio-data page in their passport. Do I (the petitioner) have to send mine as well? I had my name changed after getting married, so my passport and social security cards don't even match anymore. My passport is the only thing I have with my maiden name on it.   If I do need to send mine as well, will the fact that it has my maiden name on it, while nothing else does, matter? Thanks. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	hmmm well 32 minutes total including the conversation..   he told me there was mail received the 8th and today...  and of course I was told the same thing on the 12th but I did not send anything else. So he puts me on hold and comes back and said he gave me wrong information. He asked a supervisor  He says the file is being reviewed .. that is what the scan was today. I've been calling them for a few days now and they have told me numerous times they received two packages from me (AOS and IV).   The checklist didn't mention the marriage certificate though which just confuses me more. they go to different locations according to the barcode coversheet so maybe the one dept is just a little behind..        So happy for you, you certainly deserve it. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Hey guys - I got 2 checklist today through email but they look exactly the same.  Sent about 10 mins apart from each other and it asks:   ______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________ The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant?s supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation. To view which documents the applicant must submit to the NVC, please go to our website immigrantvisas.state.gov.   Is this a false or real checklist?  Because I've called NVC and they've confirmed that they have received both packages.  What should I do?     Thanks!   Yep... looks false   When did your packages get scanned at the NVC?? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Was unfortunate enough to receive a checklist today. But I'm slightly confused as it seems to be a combination of a 'real' checklist and a 'false' one. Has anyone else received one like this?   It asks specifically for us to submit 2013 tax info as we had submitted 2012 info as the most recent year. Looks like we missed the cut off point by a week! Oh well, hopefully we can get this sent off to them quickly and the delay wont be too long.   The confusing part is the checklist also asks for me to submit a copy of my passport, my birth certificate, and police certificate all which I have already sent as part of my IV package. They already have these documents!   So whereas the tax part of the checklist is real and obviously needs action on my part, the civil documents they're asking me to submit falls into the 'false' checklist category we are all familiar with. I'm aware of the difference between the real and false checklists but I've not heard of anyone receiving one that seems to be both at the same time!   Has anyone seen this before? Just gotta decide if it'll be worth it to spend all (or some of) my miles on a ~$500 flight. yea, I just checked the ONE-WAY tickets. I didn't ask. But I am sure you could ask... the only thing they can say is NO....     I got a case number super fast and everything was submitted within the first 9 days  but the Lawyer made a huge mistake and the freaking birth cert set me back. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Have just checked CEAC and my 130 file is in transit to the embassy in London!! It will take 2 days for it to arrive. Hubby has submitted the 260. Didn't have to pay the IV fee, yet. So you could say filing the 129 has helped my case to be expedited!! technically it was their mistake so you should get an expedite !!!   I am sure they will collect the money at the embassy. Don't worry.. they won't forget about that !!  well worth the hassle for the expedite !!  CONGRATS !! about to call hubby to complete this DS260.   I have been so stressed over having to babysit my lawyer.  Can someone tell me exactly what $3300. buys these days???? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Funny you should say this, LoveMyTico...my attorney told me I should be working at her office!  I had to correct her on the Total Income vs. Adjusted Gross Income today.  She was shocked and horrified at her mistake, but incredibly gracious when she told me I was correct.  I told her that VisaJourney had been MY teacher.  I believe our AOS and IV packets are being sent today, and the DS-260 will be complete as soon as she hits "enter".  Wow.  What a journey!   Sukie OK, here is my nightly rant  I called my lawyer because they didn't answer my emails and I wanted to know if my packages went out.  When I called they tried to screen the call and said he was busy... then he said hold on.... Lawyer gets on the phone. I try and be nice he cuts me off and says your files are on paralegals desk. I am not reviewing them today. They will be reviewed tomorrow and fedex'd. You will get a tracking number . So I had a question about the income she used.  She used adjusted not total. My total income includes 4 months of unemployment . The adjusted is over the poverty level but I wanted to point that out when he reviews it. He said if the amount is more than the poverty level for a fami ly of 4, they won't kick it back....   He was so short with me like I was bothering him.   I swear to God if I get  a checklist for that error I will flip out. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Question about translations (which I know are not "required" but can be requested)-   For the police record the only part that is actually the police record is the first page, then there's three more pages authenticating the police record.  Do I translate all the pages or just the actual police record page? if you are the one translating  then I would do all of them.  My divorce decree from Costa Rica has pages of all that and I never had that translated. I only sent the Divorce part with translation to the USCIS. It was fine.   I was told that there are instructions on how to get the police cert once you get your appointment letter and you can't do the medical until you have the letter because the doctor wants to see it.       Is that true? Although I had a draft 260 filled in , when doing the real one online there's lots of drop down menus for some questions. So have to sit by the phone to be on call until he gets it done. Should have done it myself really but my internet connection is playing up today. I've told him to make sure he dots the i's and crosses the t's. Don't want any silly mistakes. Lol hubby is painting the house today so he is home but I can't keep texting him every 5 seconds with a new question....  I have to wait until I get home  UGHHHHH I hate waiting !!  so close yet SO FAR ! ! ! ! !    ahahahhahaahaaaa      I am on the lawyers office like glue.  I am so sure they are sick of me hounding them. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Got IV invoice email last night and IV fee is now payable on CEAC! Yay!   Is it me or are things moving faster at NVC? Our case # was assigned on the Apr 03. I wasnt expect to be able to pay IV and submit the DS-260 for at least 2 weeks after we received case #.   Edit: Also, to find out if DS-261is accepted, do we have to call NVC or is the email we received last night proof of it? Email states that my husband has been chosen as agent for me. I paid both fees on  April 5th.  Money came out of my account April 8th  but it still shows in process on the CEAC.  I'm obsessed with that dang site.  they just told me it takes 3-5 business days to show PAID.... A photocopy of yours was included with the I-130. Unless this is something special with your waiver but I doubt it. Thank you !! that is what I thought.  This paralegal INSISTS she knows what to put in the package.  I am on hold with NVC right now.  I already sent the divorce papers overnight fedex. She will get them by 10:30 am today  but I will be calling their office when I am done with NVC in a few minutes.    The waiver is filed AFTER the interview and processed at the NSC.  That proessing time is 6-8 months... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	You shouldn't need your divorce decree, only his.  The IV packet is all his stuff.  The only part that is about you is the AOS.  Your doc's already have been cleared by USCIS. That is what I thought. I am going to call the NVC again.. I don't have a problem sending the divorce decrees HOWEVER, anyone who knows how Costa Rica is....the divorce decree I was given from the family court is a fax that is certified true and correct...  Its what they give. or at least what they gave me. I am the only one who can request that document from the registry so if I need something different, I'd have to be present in Costa Rica to get it. I can bring it to the interview if that is what they want but I won't be able to get it before then. I'm not flying there just for ONE document. I did print out the page from the national registry that shows I am divorced.   I am so sick of the lawyers office not knowing the process. I had to re-do it, print it and fedex it over night for $24.00.....  I am sooooo mad.  I have done everything so far.  Tomorrow I have to call and beg them to send out my packages.  She told me we will have to meet to fill out the DS260.... Sincerely, ____________________________________ Mr. (SS#) ok, first off.. we all want to be with our spouses  ( yesterday)   but sending in documents that they haven't asked for yet is wasting EVERYONE'S time.  You will not streamline anything.  The NVC  will request everything again and you will have to scramble to get all originals again.  USCIS is notorious for misplacing things.  They love to give nonsense RFE's for nothing.  Submit what is required for each step. NEVER send originals with your USCIS package. Save those for the NVC.  Follow a thread for the month you filed and track everyone's progress. That will help pass the time and maybe give you an idea of where you stand. Create a timeline and a signature . That helps everyone else too. Always have it in the back of your mind that the USCIS lies. Everything I read on here was pretty much  dead on. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Ummm.. why in the world is she telling you that you need your divorce decree?! That was supposed to be included with your I-130 not your husband's IV package. All of the paperwork pertains to him and nothing to you. If your husband is divorced, then he will need his divorce decree. Not your own.   It will be a good idea for him to have a certified copy of your divorce decree with him at his interview, but it does not have to be included in the IV package. I sucked it up and ran to the court house and got it. Just took an early lunch. Court house is only 24 minutes away....The whole process only took 6 minutes including when I paid for it. It took me longer to park and put all my nickels and dimes in the kiosk.  LOL LOL   The way my luck is going..... they would send a checklist. I am not willing to take a chance.   Its my divorce decree that she wants to send. He was never married. I did send a copy of it in the USCIS package.. But I was divorced way back in 2005 and I don't have the original. I don't even remember where I came up with the copy and my second divorce decree and translation was included in the package  too. I do have those originals. I guess they will both get shoved in an express mail envelope and mailed out this afternoon . She said she would work on my file and get back to me this afternoon.    Its amazing what little $3300.00 gets you these days !!!! and we still have another $2000. to pay when the interview is scheduled.  PLUS we pay all fees .   WHAT  A FRIGGIN RIP !!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	AHHHHHHHH, just talked to the paralegal,,,   she is telling me I need my divorce decree toooo??? for the IV package????  do I really????  NVC operator didn't mention that..   And I mentioned I wanted this to go out today or tomorrow.. she says I can't guarantee I will work on it today... #######?????   OMG OMG    I swear I hate depending on others to do what I can do faster....     UGH  nevermind, I wasn't able to open the links on the wiki page up til now.. I am at work and they block that...     I guess I just delayed my stupid papers now. Dang....  I have my last divorce papers but I have to get another divorce decree from the county where I live... I checked before I went to sleep, no action but this morning they came out.   Today, my mission is to haunt my lawyer for him to send out the packages. The tracking USPS confirmed delivery of our docs to his office yesterday.  Its time for him to earn the money he's been paid !!!!      It still shows IN PROCESS online but of course I'll be stalking the CEAC page today.... When I asked what that means he told me sometimes there's a second round and sometimes not, but basically, they're done with May. Ah well. Settling in for the next few weeks while we wait for an assignment, hopefully it'll be early in June because we were so close to the cutoff. you are talking about for the UK interviews... right?    all embassies are different..  I guess it depends on how many come through for each... (hahaha, no.) She also told me that they can't see the DS260 or when it was filled out, but they also need 30 days to review that. And that I should just wait until they contact me to find out what's going on with my case.  Ok, whatever, talk to you tomorrow. that's so funny because other operators tell you to keep calling.   TALK TO YA TOMORROW  !!!! I paid both of  mine on Saturday night... It was too easy to hand over money to the government. I didn't get any errors.  Waiting for those fees to clear and show PAID !  ! !!   I'm in a big big hurry... can you tell????   I wonder if the glitch in the computer is on purpose. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	I think because of your I-129f and I-130 approval. What I saw is that if both cases got approved and touch NVC than they closed I-129f and at a same time they assign case # to I-130.   I saw this happened to other fillers too. My cases have the same case number except the last digit ( obviously) The I-130 is 003 and the K-3  is 004    so they must have gotten them together.  I don't mind doing the I-130 as long as it keeps moving fast...  I am not in the mood to hang out at the NVC for 3 months. 11 months at USCIS was enough   I assume the reason both fees were issued at the same time is because I have an attorney and did not have to file the DS261?     I paid them on Saturday so hopefully when the bank opens I will see the funds coming out... it isn't processed like a POS/debit purchase ..correct?  The funds would come out immediately, not put on hold . He writes  "Jen, I thought you were going for the K3?"    OK, can I just tell you how annoyed I was?   He didn't even know the K3 was closed.   UHHHH  I wrote a very long response telling him that I mailed the docs and pictures and he should be getting them  tomorrow. My goal is to get this done asap. When he mails the docs to NVC I want the tracking  number. I explained that I keep track of every move. It keeps me busy.   I explained the police certificate issue to him. Just incase he didn't know.    The DS260 will become available once the fees clear..... correct? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	waaa the waiting sucksssss i can't wait till this nightmare is overrr Did you get the text that your file was shipped to the NVC? if not, keep on them..   Call 3 times a day to see if your file was received.  The day mine was received, I called early with nothing, then I called about 12:45 pm and it was received. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	i just looked up my lawyers website: http://www.silzerlaw...ce_location.php   and they are not open on Fridays! no wonder she did not reply to my email Friday about being able to send IV since it now showed as paid - it is ok because i have told her to send it overnight and i dont mind paying. So will make up the lost time.  They are good lawyers in Orlando- i used them for my H1, then green card and then my citizenship and now my husband. However, i did not know about VJ until this last case, and now i am all micro-managey. haha our lawyer does not seem to mind though so that is good. What is wrong with these lawyers? Thank God I didn't waste my $$$$. Aren't they supposed to have college degrees? GEEZ!!! I wish you the best.              I sent my docs priority and signature required an it is only going 20 miles to Philadelphia..
