IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Hello All,   I have a question. I'm currenlty trying to immigrate my wife and son to san diego im at the NVC stage. I applied for an expedite request and on May 15th the consulate in Montreal denied my request. Does anyone know why they would deny such a request?   Here is what I wrote:   "I?m currently on active duty in the United States Navy and stationed in San Diego, California. At any moment I can be chosen to obligate an ?Individual Augmented billet? a.k.a. I can be deployed at any time. I would be very thankful and appreciative if you expedite my case because I need to have my family prepared for such an event.  Also, my wife is 20 weeks pregnant and it?s very hard on her not having me there because she also has a four year old to take care of (case MTLxxxxxxx). Furthermore it would be a lot better for us financially if she were here in time to give birth at the Naval hospital because we are covered by my job.  Attached is statement of service. I appreciate your time and effort in reviewing my request"   Thanks, Vosman Pregnancy is not a reason to expedite... also, you have not been given orders to deploy. you just said you can be deployed at any moment.  You pretty much have to be on you death bed to get an expedite... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I have removed all of the personally identifying  information from the misdirected mail sent by NVC.  As their misdirecting of this mail is a serious breach of security - and not the first one - I am leaving the general information visible but no names, numbers or anything else that can be used to identify the individuals or the case.  If this turns out to be insufficient I can certainly remove the whole thing.   Please do return the original to the sender with the statement that it was sent to you in an envelope addressed to you and that you did not receive the proper contents of the envelope that was addressed to you.  My guess is it went to the individual who should have received this notification.   As an aside, years ago when I was going through this process, I received my notification of receipt of my AOS petition in an envelope addressed to me, but in that same envelope was another notification of receipt of a petition addressed to someone totally different.  I wasn't a member of Visa Journey then but what I did instead of sending it back to the sender is I re-addressed it to the original recipient and told them it had been included in my envelope with my notice as well, then mailed it directly to them.  In retrospect, I should probably have returned it to USCIS but figured that might take a lot of time for them to get around to re-mailing it and knowing how important it was to me to get this response, I didn't want them to have to wait any longer than necessary.   So, these types of mistakes happen far more often than is comfortable.   Also, when you call the 1-800 number and get conflicting information, please remember that you are not talking with an actual immigration officer unless your call has been forwarded by the person answering the phone. The person answering the phone is a low paid, call center employee who has been given a script with answers to the most common questions and the advice to try and fend off all but the most critical calls with a variety of scripted 'excuses'.  Please do not trust the information that is given to you by the ' misinformation' line.  Check it out with our far more knowledgeable members here first before acting on it. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	DON @ NVC (laughing) told me to disregard the email. I asked about my info being forwarded to someone else because someone can sign in and look at my DS260 an all m husbands info is there.  He said he can guarantee that did not happen.   Also informed me that my mail was not reviewed yet but someone reviewed my file again today.  I asked if that was them sending this stupid response and he said no.   Anyway, I picked his brain a little about the CMR and DR cover sheets.   Initial AOS packages go to the CMR, all other packages go to the DR.  They are separated and they do open mail by the date it was scanned in.  I asked how many days of mail do they process in a day. Of course he had no idea.  Of again I got the 30 day yadda yadda yadda #######.    Maybe somebody else can ask the same questions  to see if there is truth in what he said.. I thought it was required...   Ahh ok.. than never mind lol.. yep, I didn't fill them in.  I saved the form to my desktop.. just triple checked again.. I just got a new laptop in February and I didn't transfer everything over yet so I would have had to search on the old one.. And I know I didn't do that.  Plus, the lawyer never asked for that info when he filled out the first one.  He filled in the wrong amount  LOL  but never asked for the other years.  That doesn't mean you wont get a checklist.. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	GUUUUYYYSSSS HELP PLEASE..   I have the packages ready to go.. the only thing on the AOS my joint sponsor dsn't have the documents/ transcripts for 2011.. So neither do I or him know what he made for 2011 so I can't fill in that part in the I-864 form. we tried looking online and he's not able to access his info online..(irs blocked him for 24 hrs ) He went to our local IRS office but didn't want to be in line for 1 hour.. So my thing is this.. I'm frustraded with this whole situation already.. I have everything payed ..and all I want to know is how much did he make on 2011 .. that's it...!!!! I don't want the transcript or documents.. I just want to fill out the form... what to do????? Do what you want   BUT  I only put an amount in the 2013 spot. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	.     FYI...Apparently you do NOT have to read to be able to work at the National Visa Center.   On the I-864EZ Part 3 "Information on the Sponsor (You.)" Number 9 "Place of Residence (if different from mailing address)" make sure that you put "N/A" if it is not.   My mailing address and place of residence are the same and no where in the instruction packet does it say to place "N/A" there. Now what I thought was a "False" Checklist turned out to be a real checklist after I called to verify it was indeed a false checklist. Now I am on hold to request a supervisor review...This is BS! So pissed off I could scream!!!    On a positive note at least my civil documents cleared and this is a stateside matter! Apparently you don't have to be accurate either... I just opened my email and this is the NVC response I received from an email I sent on May 2nd. Wellll if we win, i'll make sure to throw a few million your way.     I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one with similar problems.  After this whole process, we deserve a vacation!!!!   I used to text him in english, but we stopped because when he dropped out of the english class I got pissed, but I"ll probably start doing that again.  I hope you, me, and everybody here hears something good soon!! I tell my husband how awesome his english is. He gets all embarrassed !   HA HA   Just speak english to him. Speak slow and make him learn.   My husband even has the slang down pat. He watches TV in english over there.  Shows like Big Bang Theory and Friends. It helps him so he doesn't lose it !  He's been back in CR since Nov 2011 and since we talk everyday and he watches english TV shows, he hasn't lost anything.      We all need a CC by Friday.  That would put us in the running for July scheduling.   How long does it take for the NVC to ship the file after they schedule an interview?  Do the ship it right  out?  A day or two? or do they hold on to it to get one last jab ? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought about this too, I don't know if I'm happy for the day off of work or I'd rather work with a chance to see my husband sooner!! YESSS ME TOO!!! This jersey weather has sucked!!! lol we'll do a sundance or something lol   LoveMyTico I feel your pain.  I have also gotten anxiety over all of this and sometimes take it out on my husband, when he seems so calm about everything.  I've been handling everything, with him maybe doing a few things here and there, and it stinks. The job I have also barely covers my bills as of now, I can only imagine when he gets here and with no knowledge of english. I paid for him to take english classes and he dropped out bc he said there was nobody to practice with. So this process has me extremely stressed and just thinking of all the work that will come even after he's here has me stressed too. I feel as though I've gained weight too, and I didn't think about that, it probably is due to stress. My husband lived here for 3 years. I was the ONLY person who spoke english with him. He didn't speak a word of english when I met him.  I love his accent and his grammer mistakes are adorable.  He insists that I correct him when I hear something worng  but I know what he means and I think its cute.  My spanish is horrendous. I understand  but its very difficult to talk back and have a conversation. I am sure I sound like a caveman. But his family is amazing. they speak slow. My husband only speaks english with me.   I send CD's for my husband to study while he is  waiting. He is very shy. He tells me he understands about 95% of what I say but he is afraid of interacting with strangers for fear they may not understand him and he won't understand them. And he is embarrassed that his grammer is not perfect.    We talk everyday for about an hour and we text constantly during the day. He writes in spanish and I write in english. Its good for both of us to learn !!    Stress is horrible.  I try to keep my head straight by thinking of how good everything will be when this is all over.    My bills are killing me. Last Friday I just had to fork over $500 to replace the steering column in my car. I was out of work 4 days last week because I had no way to work. That was so stressful. God (or Godess) helps those who help themselves!! I was just joking with you to see if you were paying attention !! Lol!!!!! I agree with him too !  I was reading from my phone last night and I was going nuts just reading those posts...(too much of a hassle to post on my phone).     I was thinking " Are you freaking kidding me?"     This process is basically easy. There are a few things that can be confusing depending on your circumstances BUT if you read the WIKI like 10 times, it starts to  make sense...  Also, some read too much into it. If you just stop and read the question a few times.. Take it literally... answer the question without thinking too much.    and of course ask questions if you get super stuck..   But goodness... asking the same questions that are answered very clearly in the WIKI makes me nuts.... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	So I've noticed most people who received a case number around the same time as me already have CC and now people after me are getting CCs and I'm just sitting here, humming and waiting.... Wondering when I will see my boo thang. I realize that was a run-on sentence and I apologize. It was also improper English and as a teacher I should know better. But this entire process gives me the right to throw all grammatical reasoning out the window. Calling this evening so they can tell me to wait 30 business days... Again. its not so much receiving the case number as when the last package was scanned at the NVC,    I'm so angry because if they didn't check list me for my husbands birth cert ( they said its not the original...but it is)  we would have had a CC on May 1st.    they scanned the checklist package on May 8th and we are playing their stupid waiting game again...     Does anyone have an idea of what day they are processing ?  Last I heard it was April 30th.( Wednesday) That seems to be a bit behind the norm... or am I going nuts?    Is it too much to ask for them to review my frigging package by Friday this week?  or am I dreaming again?   Here comes another Holiday!!!   Probably a skeleton staff on Friday as many people take off Friday to make it a 4-day weekend...     Oh how wonderful for us.....   Sorry, but I just don't feel very positive these days !!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	today i have a bad day and i wanna cry, i'm tired of this.  we applied 1 year ago  besides this neverending journey ... can't stand my current job and i can't change anything till the end of the process.        i'm gonna end up with some psychiatric meds soon    We applied April 2013. I can't stand watching the time fly by.  So much time wasted that I could be with my husband ! and I hate my job too. ( I am so stressed out about this dumb job because it is soooo horrendous)  Everyday I have to force myself to go to work. I can't do anything until this is nightmare is over either.  I have been applying for jobs since the day I started this job. I should be grateful I even have a job, but for real..  I can't take much more.  My doctor did prescribe anxiety meds but I don't like taking any kind of drugs...  So I don't take them !!  I have gained waight due to stress.. and being heavier than I am used to stresses me out even more !!   I'm on hold right now with NVC. I didn't call last night because I am getting really disgusted. 23 minutes and counting. I did get through the first dial though... I'll probably be on hold for 45 minutes.       Not quite 45 minutes.. This operator had a hard time speaking english... She told me they have no mail waiting for review.... I asked her to check again cuz its been there since May 8th...  Then she says.. we have no email waiting for review....  NOT EMAIL MORON !!!!!  I said I sent a fedex.   OH, ok... its not reviewed yet !!        OH MY LORD ! ! !! ! !  Please GOD, let this be over soon !!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I called NVC yesterday again, they still have not got to the email that I sent 2weeks ago (embassy change request) and was told it could take up to 2 more weeks!!(4 weeks to get to email) that is just a waste, I am so over this process, OMG...11 months since I started this process and still do not know when will end!!!God help us!!!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I got CC on 15-May-2014 and the last mail I sent (IV docs) was enterred in the system 28-Apr-2014   Good luck all Since they get 1000's of packages a day.. I wonder how many  get reviewed daily?  it takes them 2 days from delivery to scan.   And do they separate the checklist mail from the initial mail?   Maybe they have different departments reviewing different types of mail. OR maybe it goes into one big pool of documents and they just grab whatever they can hold and run back to their desks....   I guess it may depend on how fast each person works.     I hate not knowing !! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	When I called last week the lady told me 30 days from that date!  Not from when they received my mail, she was like "so maybe at the end of June."  I was like hell nah!    I think I'll call today when I get home from work. I called a little while ago....   she told me there is mail from the 8th that is not reviewed yet.... Let me know what they say when you call..  I might give it a rest tonight.   They log in every time they get a call.. Thanks !!   My husband told me not to call til later today  ..   Everytime I call the NVC I get a different schpeel.  One says my file is with a supervisoer, another says they found my mail and added it to our file and the supervisor is going to review, another says there are two pieces of mail waiting for review ( totally not the case. I only sent one package)  another says since the supervisor already looked at the file and the mail was not in it, the date for the mail received May 8th was changed to May 12th.  I was like  WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?  she says  please allow 30 days for review from the 12th.  then another says there is mail waiting to be reviewed from May 8th.   right back to square one...     I'm not expecting anything this week.   I can't stand this anymore	LoveMyTico	Female	Costa Rica	2014-05-20 07:57:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Well I called a week ago and they told me they have received the checklist, I will wait another week before calling again (it's stressing me too much to call often). But if Lakehouse had case complete before the 2 weeks mark without asking for a supervisor review, then I will definitely call again this week! :-) What about your case? She asked for a supervisor review and they found the police cert during that review. Checklists are taking 2-3 weeks to review. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	After countless tries, I finally got through to NVC, 50 mins on hold. Unfortunately no case complete yet. Got the same story, please wait 30 business days. So, since I had waited so damn long to just be disappointed again, I ask the guy (didn't catch his name) why on the updated ceac website, on my summary page, does it show N/A under the supporting docs column if they already have my documents. He had no clue what I was talking about. I had to literally explain to him how I access the summary page, and what the summary page now looked like. The only thing he has to say to me is why am I checking my summary page!  To which I replied, Im checking it because it was updated to provide more information, which apperently we still can't access! Do they think we sit around with our heads up our butts?  Why wouldn't we check the CEAC??  They make no sense.... Unless you are actually going through this immigration nightmare, you have no idea  how heartbreaking it is not knowing how long it will take and when it will come to an end...   they just answer the phones.  My lawyer thinks its ok to just let the NVC or UCSIC do their job. He doesn' t call for updates. I wonder if  other people ( non-VJers) call like we do?  do they sit and wait for emails from the NVC??  That would suck ! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I scanned my certified copy and emailed it to my senator so she could send it to her "contact".  I've sent NVC my certified copy twice now.  This is what she emailed me:   "I spoke with my contact today. Even with the attachments that you sent, they couldn?t confirm the validity of this document. They will have to wait until the packet you sent on May 7th is opened so they can make a final determination" SOOOO STUPID... same thing with my husbands birth cert.  they kept telling me its not the original.. so I sent my husband to the city to get one from the Registry..  Now when I call , they tell me they have the translation but no birth cert... I keep saying  " you have it, you just won't accept it"  Open my mail and there you will find what you asked for.    Its with a supervisor... ( probably one who's on vacation this week)   Your mail is one day before mine !!  WE ARE SO CLOSE !!!    I will be calling after 5 pm today... The last 3 supervisor reviews were completed in 2 days. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	*sigh*  Feeling worried.  I heard back from my senator concerning the certified marriage certificate and she said they can't do anything until they open my mail from May 7th.  That bums me out because 1- that means they haven't opened it yet, and 2- the scans I sent in were not good enough to accept the marriage certificate.  I'm so worried they'll issue another checklist for the same damn thing I've sent four times now.  I told the senator to please have the NVC case worker contact the county to confirm how they issue certified copies.  We'll see. That sux !   what do you mean by " not good enough to accept the marriage certificate"?    Are they not seeing the certification? Or did you only send copies of a scan?     after I read your post 15 more times... you just mean they aren't good enough for NVC?     BTW.. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Just give aminute to the NVC phones to heat-up and you'll see this thread on fire! we all know there are no changes/updates since Friday 05:00 PM eastrn time! we are expecting lots of updates this week!!!!!!!!!  I called late Friday night.... so I know they haven't done anything with my file yet...    I have a little bet going on with my husband.. I think Tuesday by noon , the thinks Wednesday afternoon.. We put up $10.. We aren't able to call and post updates...  I'm one of the callers this thread hates...  But ask me if I care. Reading all the complaints about how often others call just makes me want to call one more time per day...    I held back many comments as I was reading all of that...   HA HA   I'll be calling everyday this week.. because I CAN. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I was told 6 to 7 months by an attorney- they also told me $7,000.00   Normal case without special circumstances --- just glad I found the information provided on this website-- As sure as I am sitting here I know that if the lawyer was doing this FOR ME- he wouldn't care a tenth as much and would end up taking MORE time than what I did it in myself- for a small fraction of the costs.   he wanted ALL $7,ooo up front- in the bank-- no wonder.  It only motivated me to do this myself--  NOW I feel I could give classes on it.....  and I look forward to being in the position to help someone some day with their case.  Back in April 2013 we were told 6 months for the USCIS and 4 months for the waiver. We were quoted 5K. we paid $1300 when we filed the I-130 then 2k when we were approved. and we still owe 2K when we get our interview. I did the NVC process. The only thing the lawyer's office did was send in an incorrect AOS.  I decided I would do it myself.  Now he is working on the waiver so it is ready to file right after the interview. We are supposed to fax the paper that says we are eligible for a waiver so it can be mailed out immediately. I plan on asking for a credit since I did his job.   I think  $7000 is a rip off, especially with no special issues....  We have a waiver to file  and I think $5K is ridiculous...      GOOD LUCK TO ALL !! (didn't call, too busy being at a bar! )   Or does it just mean I've sent everything in?   Or does no one really know yet? don't jump for joy yet... Mine is the same but mine shows PAID for the AOS also...    You and I are at the same stage right now. Looked at the new CEAC website, and of course under the supporting docs both for IV and AOS it shows N/A. Is there anyone out there that has something different?   Just curious i guess.. I imagine we are lucky it rolled out without more issues. Maybe that part will rollout at a later date.. Hopefully after I am long gone. I don't need anymore delays.  It is about time they decided to add a status update on the site to take care of some of the phone calls.  I am sure people will still call so they know earlier. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Hey guys!! I have a question... My husband sent wrong Bar Coded Cover Sheet for AOS, he sent one for Packet 4 instead. Will we get check list???? When I realized our lawyer made a huge mistake in the AOS 1 day after he sent it, I just printed out the Barcode page and resent the corrected AOS. There is a different barcode for checklists( dept cade)  and for IV packages BUT NVC told me it is just a matter of walking it over to the correct dept.      It will get scanned with your case number so they will know there is mail waiting for review for your file.    Its all good. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Just a quick question, is too early for a case complete next week if the NVC has received the last form which is the PCC from india? It was scanned and being reviewed on May 12. It was received the friday before, May 9. Looking forward to reading replies. Also from the way it looks, we will be getting a July interview, is there a way to ask for an earlier interview date from the London embassy. I ask because we are expecting our first child on June 12.... thanks for the quick responses   Also will the london embassy lose our medical results that were sent by the knightsbridge doctors even though the embassy does not have the file? How did you schedule the medical without the file being at the embassy?  My husband called the embassy a few weeks ago and he was told not to get the medical without instructions from them.  They told him that people end up having to re-do things because they don't wait.  Is London different?   It takes them about 2-3 weeks to review the packages from the day they are scanned.  Edited by LoveMyTico, 16 May 2014 - 04:13 PM. Got my case number and IIN April 12, but now when i log in is shows that my case is in the proccess of temination and that i cannot make online payments, is that a website error or is that something i should be worried about? And also how long after case number assigned can i start making my payments? Would appreciate some answers.
