I'm worried about mine, because it's not as nice as the USA's Birth certificate!! I hope they get it sorted soon lovemytico.. they shouldn't be making you wait for something silly like this!!  Don't even get me started.   UGHHHHH   so my husband feels bad. Last night he said he should have gotten a certified copy at the same time he got the Marriage certificate.    Who knew the Original would be such a problem.    People are starting to ask me at work why isn't my husband here yet....   Its starting to annoy me. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	We got out interview date (finally  ) for June 18th.   Since we're using a lawyer (regrettably) we're kinda out of the loop a little bit. I'd like to update my timeline but don't really know where I can see when we got our case complete etc. We were checking the https://ceac.state.gov/ website but the only thing it ever said (and still says) is: At NVC.    call the NVC... they can tell you the date and when it will ship.  The lawyers don't call the NVC to find out info....  they like to wait for an email. I personally don't have time to wait for my lawyer to take his good old time. I call regularly. My lawyer has been ZERO help in this whole process so far.. CONGRATS ON YOUR INTERVIEW DATE !!!!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Don't give up hope! Things can change from one day to the next. I called the 29th and was told wait 30 days. I called the 30th and case complete. I am so disgusted that I have to wait another 2 weeks to get this birth cert thing sorted out...  I could have called last night but I didn't even want to have to explain to another operator and hear them say 30 days   blah blah blah...   I can only hope that they speed up the mail scanning. The computers being down lately will cause alot of delays for people who are sending in their first package because they can't print out the barcode coversheet....  Maybe this will speed up the checklist mail. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	In about a month to a month and a half.  You should get an e-mail with a case # and an INN number.  You can call and get this over the phone as well but it is taking about 5-6 weeks. It will explain alot.    Most people call regularly to get their case number and IIN#.  I don't even know if they send out emails for that because everyone just calls. They told me it would take 30 days..  I requested it on Thursday afternoon and they reviewed it last night.  The weekend was in the mix too so I would say 2 days for a review.  They check listed me for a Police cert that isn't even required at NVC. Now Olivia told me they are working on the 16-April mail. Have no clue what/who to believe!!! I'll call after hours, hopefully I'll get a better answer!!!!!!!!!! being reviewed is another way of saying " yea, your package is here"    next time you call, ask the operator if they are able to tell the status. I know they can tell if mail is received for the case but has not been touched yet...  Maybe it has staging levels for each scan..  WHO FRIGGIN knows??? She was nice and told me that NVC is actually working on the mail received April 16 and that they can spend 2 days in one day's mail. so go figure! I've never heard of anybody telling us what day they were working on! I hope that she was not just trying to blow me off! Grrrrrrrrr, more wait!!!!!!!! that's a lie,  My corrected AOS was scanned in on April 18th and it was accepted yesterday . Olivia is telling tall tales. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	That's what I was leaning towards doing, until I called the NVC and the guy said it would be a problem.   So now I'm scared if I do what you said I'll get a checklist and it will delay us a month or whatever the amount of time is, even though it's pretty darn straight forward what I would be doing. If we have to get a new police certificate it will delay us by another week, instead of what I was going to originally do and send both the AOS and IV Packages together via UPS tomorrow.    You're welcome for the prayers!!! Any time!   Good vibes your way as well!  ok, so if they say it will be a problem.... this is what I would do... its up to you   I would send the police certificate that I already have with BOTH bio pages . Send both packages together. meanwhile, your wife is over in Poland getting another police certificate and sending it to you FEDEX and you print out another barcode page and send the new police cert and bio page  with a letter of explanation. Don't wait for a checklist. . So it may not end up being a problem but if they checklist you for it, you will be one step ahead and it will be there waiting for them to review.  If you don't get any other checklist items ... then you saved a few weeks.     Do what makes you feel comfortable.  . I also just noticed that my wife's police certificate has her old passport number on it because her new passport wasn't yet issued by the time the certificate came in the mail (even though she had applied for it by then). Think this might be a problem?    Praying for you. It's terrible what they're doing with your case and docs. So dumb. I would say just include a copy of the bio page of her old and her new passport along with the Police cert. In your cover letter just explain the situation.  I doubt it will be an issue.  You can just have her scan and email it to you and you can print it out. I'm so glad she decided at the last minute to ditch us... Well it took us a day to find another joint sponsor, so we should be set on that, but it will of course delay us since the new joint sponsor has the collect all the documents. And if someone asks why we didn't use our current (hopefully) joint sponsor from the start, well, it didn't even occur to us that petitioner's own mother would bail out on us. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	some posts cause my stress, some people are trying to be ahead of the game   examples:   sending more docs than NVC requires  predicting their checklists (blank boxes etc.) ................. .................   it makes me feel that i missed something, forgot about something, something will go wrong   pls! be less stressed and more positive ... and PATIENT!       I have to agree about not sending more doc than NVC requires.... You don't have to prove anything to NVC... you are ALREADY approved. I guess  it makes them feel better  but it just creates more junk for the reviewer to look through. Its better to make it straight and to the point. Don't add anymore garbage to the file.  Take all your proof to the interview.   If they need more evidence, they will ask.    And if you just fill out all the blanks on the forms, you'll be fine. and make sure all of your civil documents are in order. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Its a friggin sad day in Pennsylvania....   They will not accept my husbands birth cert so we can just forget June.   I am so glad I sent the certified copy last night.  I will still call the supervisor tomorrow night because this is BULL !!   Lisa was not in a pleasant mood today.  If I could reach through the phone...  GRRRRRR I told her I will still be calling the supervisor, she got angry and said  " he will just tell you the same thing I just told you" So Miss Lisa, you're working my nerves... you and Joy are neck -n-neck on the beotch -o-meter.   I was nice as could be... guess she didn't like that.  So now if everyone could cross their fingers and send good vibes that they start opening the mail at a faster pace... If the computers are still down, that is preventing people from printing out their barcode cover sheets and mailing in their packages.. You've really been put through the ringer :/ Are you facing more delays with the waiver or does that process move a bit smoother? (BIG SIGH)  the waiver is averaging 6-8 months processing at the NSC.  I waited 11 months for the USCIS to get off their a$$es and approve our petition . I am in a huge hurry because I really want him home by December but that dream is fading fast...  If I get a June interview I will call and beg for a May interview. We started chatting in there, then came the friend request, then came more chatting. Pretty soon we were chatting non-stop and calling each other. He sent me one of his football shirts (English men and their football are sacred lol) and I knew there were sparks between us! Simple Minds announced a UK tour and I made plans to travel to meet him (at this point we started a relationship). We met and immediately we knew we were meant to be! At the second Simple Minds concert we went to, he proposed - 6 months to the date we became a couple. He flew to the US in August and we eloped! I-130 sent the day before he went back to the UK.   Had we known he could have adjusted status and stayed, I wouldn't be here right now.... that's a gripe for another day lol Yes, My husband was here and overstayed... If my stupid divorce didn't take 2 years, I could have married him here and adjusted.   But his dad was sick and was about to go into surgery. He had to go home. Stupid reality was that my divorce was final 2 weeks after he left..  And its been 2 1/2 years since he went back.    I have been to Costa Rica like 4 times a year since then.  Its time for him to come back and be with me !! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	It makes zero sense to have both USCIS (which is under the Department of Homeland Security) and NVC (which is under the Department of State) involved in the same process. In my novice opinion, they should both be in the same Department. But, I guess it's job security for those workers? :/   I don't care what department they work under. I just think it should be one step..     It does create job security  especially since they work as fast or as slow as they want...  the fees they collect from us are used for salaries. I am wondering  how everyone got together.. my husband was here on a tourist visa and was living with a mutual friend. I got laid off one spring and had some time on my hands so I  went to hang out with my friend and there he was.  We were friends for a year before we moved to BF/GF status.  I met him only 4 months after he arrived in the US. He didn't speak a word of english. I used to bring him books so he could try to study english. I took him to NYC, Atlantic City, the Jersey shore for motorcross on the beach, the philadelphia Zoo, Amusement parks and countless trips to the mall.  HA HA Museums and restaurants.. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	So today is a week since i received my wife's case and IV number...but still the payment portal is not open to pay and I stil have not received the invoice in the mail or by email. Its so frustrating! If things don't get moving, it might be end of August when we get interview and its going to make getting my stepdaughter into a good school tough!   And I just want to confirm that NVC is now requiring every single open space on the AOS and other forms to either have a N/A or a zero on it. Not a single line left blank? I think they are trying to control the workflow so they can catch up a little.. Just my personal opinion of course..   and yes, you want to fill out the entire form. I called NVC and they said that my case number and IN number is correct.. that I won't be able to sign in until it's available.. make sure there are no spaces... I got that now and again when I was rushing to look. Make sure you have all 3 letters in front of the case number and make sure you have all invoice numbers.   I don't mean for this to come across like you don't know what you're doing. No, I got the checklists like 2 days after . I actually got to talk to a supervisor on the night shift.  he told me he would review my file and I should call back the following Wednesday and ask for him. I never called him back because the file got reviewed twice before the Wednesday I was supposed to call him back.  and we had already sent the new package.    I hate this waiting game they play.    I really really really need to hear CC.  I have been waiting almost 14 months now. If you don't have enough miles to buy the round trip ticket, just buy a one way ticket with your miles and purchase the other way with money. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I haven't seen my husband since December 8th.   I was supposed to fly down to see him on Feb 22nd but when we finally got approved on March 18th we decided to save the ticket for the interview.  I used reward miles ( 55,000) to book the original flight. I cancelled that flight but now when I look for flights to re-book with those reward miles, everything is 70,000 miles which means I would have to buy additional miles. Which ends up being like $491.00. ( pretty stupid for trying to use my reward miles )   I have $300 in my travel bank with United  but I can't use the travel bank to buy additional miles to rebook with my reward ticket SOOOOO I might as well just buy a ticket for $658 so I can use my travel bank money..  then out of pocket is only $358.00 and I would rack up another 5000 miles..            Everything seems like such a friggin project lately  sorry about the "off topic" conversation.  The airlines piss me off	LoveMyTico	Female	Costa Rica	2014-05-23 11:57:00

I called Fedex and told them to hold my package. I went to pick it up, asked the fedex agent to copy it and then I turned around and sent it right out to the NVC.  And the fedex agent was asking me about my husband and when he will be able to come home... So nice of her to ask everytime I stop in to mail something ( LOL)     The supervisor reviews were still going on but I didn't care.  You never know how those people think. I didn't want to waste one more minute.     I told my husband last night that I just know the embassy is going to look at his original birth certificate and tell us that it is fine and they don't know why the Visa Center made such a big deal.    It wasn't worth fighting the NVC. I would have had a CC on May 1st.  DANG NVC... GRRRRRR     Send your new document ASAP.   and don't worry about the questions...if I can help you  then that is great.  If I had questions I would want someone to help me.  ASK AWAY .................. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	yep, that's true.  she looked up the issuing authority/marriage acts that my certificate was registered under since there are so many in india.  but, USCIS approved the copy with no problem...   i assume the operators know the status of the supervisor reviews so I can just call up and ask how that's going?  did you get a checklist response after every supervisor review was completed? Yes,  it was just the same checklist asking for the Birth Cert 3 times.    I guess its their way of saying what I sent was no good. I called and found out that they did review it and it is still not acceptable.  You can't get a detailed update about the supervisor review. She says no updates... so I will call later today... probably more like 6 or 7 pm   I wish I knew how many days of mail they blow through in a day.  The mail is separated by the bar code destinations..  I hope they crank them out today.  It sucks having to wait until Tuesday without a CC.    So if they were doing May 5th as of  2 days ago, they could possibly be on the 7th or 8th... Hopefully I will find the peace and patience to continue the wait.... I think they are doing quailty checks and issuing checklists for supid ######. Of course she doesn't know why your marriage certificate wasn't accepted.   Glad you got a supervisor review going on.. Sucks that there is a holiday  on Monday.... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	For those of you who are sending additional evidence of genuine marriage and photos to NVC to ?middle load? do you think it is necessary for someone whose wife is Japanese and do you think it is even worth doing considering my I-130 only took 22 days?  I mean, the evidence submitted with the I-130 package is all at NVC right now as well right?  I can?t really submit anything much newer than what I already submitted since it has only been like a month since I sent the previous evidence.  Do you think I should just not bother with that stuff? 22 days???? are you friggin kidding me???    UGHHHHHHHH      Please say a prayer just in case for Changnoi and his beautiful family, with all that is going on in Thailand you just never know.  I pray they are well and safe and the interview went well.   Thank you in advance.      what happened in Thailand.??? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	did they give any reasoning why they won't accept it? They said it is not the original..  so instead of arguing for days, my husband just went to get a certified copy.  It is the original. It has the stamps and book and page written on the side. Parents names   The papers is thin yellow paper with Civil registry on the top, a registration number... the whole 9 yards... they say no.  so now they will have the original and the certified copy.  They accepted our marriage certificate and the birth cert now looks exactly like that.   I think I'll  call again...  Maybe they did some work today	LoveMyTico	Female	Costa Rica	2014-05-22 18:14:00
