Philippines	OMG...my long story...so excited right now! Need help though.	Did you withdraw the 2nd petition in writing with USCIS or whatever?  Not sure where you were in that process, was it with USCIS or was it on the way to NVC/USEM?   The copy of the I-129F application (original) is not needed nor requested at the interview, USEM has the original.  So don't bring ANY... rule #1 =  Never DO-DO when DO  will DO.   Do NOT volunteer information, only answer questions honestly.   You will need LOTS of evidence of an ongoing relationship, latest airfare tickets, more pictures, etc, etc - very possible the embassy will be curious, so be prepared.   Just don't offer it up unless ASKED.   Make sure your fiancee is knows all about you, your work, your home etc.  Updated information about you will be done in the DS-160 and the I-134.   For everything else, follow the flashing arrow below.   The 2nd petition was withdrawn in writing and I got confirmation of the withdrawal. I'll be calling USCIS to put a hold on the 3rd petition (Noni's new petition) today. I hope I can do that.    Just a little frightened the embassy won't have the old petition since it's been 10months with no word from us. However, 2 of the agents there said they automatically renew it ever 4 months. So I'm hoping for the best. I'll grab a copy of the old petition from the immigration service I used last year. Just in case. But yep...we'll get all the needed paperwork and new evidence for the interview. I hope a pic collage on a piece of paper with brief descriptions will do, along with the new ring receipt and passport stamps.  We're on overdrive now as this was totally unexpected. Doing the payment later today 8pm pst, then the medical on Friday, CFO on Monday or sometime next week, and we're going to try for an interview Oct 22-24. Philippines	OMG...my long story...so excited right now! Need help though.	I petitioned my current fiance, Noni, in May 2013 and got the approval Oct 25, 2013. However a month later we broke up...the hardships of a long distance relationship. Nothing came from that 1st petition. A few months later, I got into a serious relationship with another, and decided to petition her (a little fast on my part). Well, as it turns out that 2nd girl wasn't all she was pretending to be, and also me and Noni remained best friends, which I valued greatly.  It was either lose the friendship and continue and take a chance on someone who turned out wasn't worth it, or drop the petition and go from there.   I withdrew the 2nd petition 2 wks after acceptance.    I then decided to travel back to the PI to see if me and Noni still had the fires of love inside, and not just friendship. This was both our decision. It turned out we did, and so I proposed to her again and she accepted on Sept 6, 2014.  I filed another petition Sept 29, 2014.    Today Oct 6, on our monthsary, I was looking to see how far someone can extend their NOA2 just in case we cannot get an interview by the expiration. I am familiar with the timelines and such. I came across a post saying that the embassy can extend up to a year in 4 month increments. So a wild idea and a glimmer of hope popped into my mind and decided to call the embassy to beg to see if they can reopen the case.    It turns out the embassy automatically renews every 4 months to the date of the last notification, which in my case is Dec 3, 2013. So our case has not expired and is still good until Dec 3, 2014 (or Dec 2, 2014). I confirmed with the embassy and she is good to go to make the payment, schedule the interview and exam!    Thank God we bypassed 3-5 months of waiting for the new petition to go through. As for how the new petition will affect the old petition, I don't know. If anyone has any suggestions on how to proceed...which application should she bring with her? Should she bring both versions of the i-129f application because there's added jobs and addresses and proof of relationship on there? All you can do is be patient, and let them do the work, you can create a website on CEAC.gov once your I130 is approved, and just wait and see what happens, because they take their time. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - January 2014	Our I-130 was apporved on Dec 9th..I just  called NVC today and they told me they recieved our case on Dec 23rd and to wait 10 to 20 business days for it to be put in their system. The semi-rude operator told me to wait until the end of the month to call back..Crazy bulls*it..I counted and it's  3 more business till thee 10 days kicks in and then I'l call every day.   Is there something else I can do to speed the process ? But there's no consulate listed above..So what does this mean?   On the back of my NOA2, it reads if this notice  indicated we are notifying  U.S. Consulate  about the approval for visa issuance, and you or the person you have filed for have questions about visa issuance, please contact the appropiate U.S. Consulate directly..   Thanks for any insights..   Any knowledge thrown my way today would be much appreciated.. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	INFO about Division 8 at Overland Park	Someone should take a trip down to Overland Park and knock on the doors until they answer    I posted that in another thread and got no response..If I lived anywhere close to the Midwest I'd go to Overland Park and knock on doors..Ask people going in and out if they can pass along any info that could help us...The answers are there..It just takes a little courage and a lot of persistence to find them. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - February 2014	I have I-864A Questions...   The NVC sent us a letter stating  that we provided incomplete information or have not responded to some questions.   On the following checklist for I-864A they listed *Part 1 Information on the household member* as being incomplete. They then said *Please answer all questions completely*.   I was totally confused as to what mistake we made on part 1. So I called the NVC last night and the operator said she couldnt tell me exactly question we didnt answer completely..I pressed her hard and she revealed that the fact that usually the NVC will not accept a blank reponse to #3 of part 1 (Place of residence)...Which makes no sense since in clearly says on the form in parentheses *(if different from the mailing adress)*..Well our mailing adress is the same so why wouldnt we leave #3 blank?     So I could easily fill out the I-864A form with part1 #3 filled in and sent back to them, but was that really the reason we were sent the letter asking for more information? It's really hard for me to know..What if it wasnt and we get sent another letter delaying the process further?   I just am lost on this one..   I read the I-864A instructions over again..There is one possibility that I could find where we might have been missing information on part 1..The instructions state that we need to show proof of common residence..I just assumed our tax transcripts would be enough..Certainly that is proof..but maybe we were supposed to supply some other form of proof? Does anyone here know if embassy in Manila allows the petitioner to come with the spouse on his interview? I am planning to travel to Manila on his interview, for support. It'll be nice if I can be beside him on his interview...   Yes  you can be there every step of the way through the Manila interview process..I flew across the Pacific just to experience it with my wife. Vietnam	Will Vietnam allowing first cousin K1 Visa?	I, myself, is engaged to my cousin. Just had my interview last month and I got approved without any hassle. The consul just asked me if I am related to my fiance and I just said "yes". He didn't question the relationship or whatsoever. So you better relax because you're not getting married in Vietnam anyway. You are residing in a state that allows first cousin marriage so by all means, your fiancee shouldn't have problems on her interview too. God bless you! Thank you much Queen Amethyst.  This gives me hope but I'm still very concerned about the issue.  I've also read that they don't allow first cousin marriage in Phillipines, which relates to my situation, but I've asked around and the two different immigration lawyers I've spoken to in the US have said that Vietnam is very strick now with this issue.  They advise that the consulate there will be very suspecious of the relationship.  I guess I have no choice but to try and see what happens.    I definiately appreciate you Queen Amethst for your advice.  But has any recently done this process in Vietnam specifically?   Everyone here has been great with responding, thank you. Vietnam	Will Vietnam allowing first cousin K1 Visa?	Hi everyone. I'm new to VJ but I've been reading MANY posts here but none answers my specific question. I went back to Vietnam a year ago and meet my first cousin whom I've started a relationship with. We been in contact since and I really do love her. Our parent all approve of us getting married so I started looking into the K1 process. 1) I live in California where first cousin marriage is permitted 2) she lives in Vietnam where first cousin marriage is not permitted 3) I plan on going back in December where I wanted to have the tradition dinner w the family where I would propose My question is when she is called to her interview will she be denied on the sheer fact that we're first cousins? Technically we're not getting married in Vietnam so we're not breaking any Vietnam laws. I know it will be a red flag since the application I will state that we're cousin but is it an automatic denial? Has anyone ever done this in Vietnam before and if so what were the results and how difficult was it? Please help!! I'm desperate and getting extremely depressed at this point it's not do-able. My hubby had his interview in jan 2012 and was put in AP since. In feb. 2013 we submitted new docs and as of today, we are still in AP. Our case gets updated whenever I send a email which is usually twice a month. Rather than that, nothing else. 20 months in AP aka 1 year 8 months. Anyone else??????????? Oh yeah and I would like to add .... My husbands case never got updated unless I would send a emai every month. Sorry about the spelling errors...
