Philippineserasure/superimposition on affidavit of support

hi guys its me again,,,, Fiance had misspelled my middlename in affidavit of support instead of gutierrez he wrote guttierez using handwritten  but he edited it but somehow it can be recognized as erasure, are the consuls strict on this matter?,,,actually fiance already mailed new affidavit of support but it can't make it on my interview. i am worried this would cause a problem

So Im sure people on this thread are ready fly or in the near future... Question! anyone know about bringing X-RAYS? Cause the people at the airlport in Cebu were about to make my Fiancee miss her flight just cause she did not have her X-RAYS. I see some threads saying you need them for the POE and other say the POE are only interested in the BROWN ENVELOPE. Any thoughts on this?

Also dont forget along with the 750 tereminal fee they also ask for something around 1650PHP taxes or something before you can fly out from Manila to wherever your heading in the US of A. So dont have your Fiancee purge al her pesos thinking she wont need it. If anything he/she can always get it exchanged at the airport in the U.S. Yeah learned the hard way...

So going crazy! I did more research and came along a old post on how to check the case status in Manila after the interview... It appeared that the number did not work...

US embassy Manila (immigrant visa unit)
(632) 528 6300 extension 5184 or 5185.

http://www.visajourn...showtopic=41589

If you read my prior post, it shows me soap boxing about how bad my experience was with the situation of buying a 18 dollars pin to contact the USEM.

http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3234.html

Anywho, im sure everyone knows this but if not and your like me in the dark... this is what I found.
I went directly to the USEM web page and got this number and ext.

Hours of Operation:
The office is open to the public Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. It is closed on Philippine and American holidays.

If calling from the United States, please dial 011 first.

Phone: For General inquiries in Tagalog or English, please call the following number: (63-2) 301-2000 Ext. 2224 (from the U.S.), (02) 301-2000 (within the Philippines but outside Metro Manila), and 301-2000 (within Metro Manila)

https://egov.uscis.g...r.statecode=abk

So I took the number from the USEM web page 011-632-301-2000 and ext.5185 from the old post.
worked perfect. Grace answered the phone and was so kind and helpful!

She told me the counselor was finished with the review and the papers were verified. She told me our visa was not printed and that's what they were waiting on. She then asked when my Fiancee was flying out. I told her I hoped by June 23 next week. She then told me she apologized and that she had an update and our visa was printed today. If we liked we could call back by Thursday to verify its being shipped out and we should expect a text form DELBROS... she even wished us a happy new life together... tongue.gif

Just a heads up! I've been using a service called startec.com for a year now... works awesome! and it beats having your Fiancee call the USEM at a rate of 53PHP a minute... not to mention having to have her go out in the heat. I'm sure she had enough of that going to the CFO, NSO, and everywhere in between. Best thing it only cost me .18US cents compared to wiring her money for a 1.26USD a minute call.

HI,

People who interviewed in April, May, and June... did you receive a 221(g)? My fiancee interviewed May 29th and we are guessing passed since the counselor said congrats you'll have a good future California. She then received this white paper stating "wait till you here from us" and the pink slip. Many of the people she met that day got the same 221(g) paper... is this just standard now?

Wondering about the 221(g), I called the USEM, the one where you have to pay 18 U.S. dollars for a pin. I hate to say it.... but the lady was really rude. She seems like she hates her job and does not like to answer questions. She said the visa was sent back to the counselor June 4 and to wait for 6 weeks max, if nothing from that time is received to call back. She pretty much blew me off....

I thought she was being rude since I am American or at least FIL-AM, so I did a three way call and had my Fiancee talk, the lady was just as rude to her if not worse. My fiance asked about the procedures and wondered about the NSO verification. The lady made a smirking laugh and said who told you that they verify in NSO only the counselor can verify not the NSO! To me I felt like I just wasted another 18 dollars on the process... worthless.

Anywho my Fiancee called delbros, spoke to Robbie, very nice person, said it was still not released from the USEM but the payment was received on April 30 and sent May 12 for verification. He assured my Fiancee it was a normal procedure and not to worry.

now just playing waiting game... 17 days and counting... 25 days to go... hope the 221(g) is just a standard thing... just venting.

PhilippinesAffidavit of Support --need clarification

Thank you everyone. I'll submit my taxes and w2's. My taxes show extra income that doesn't correspond to the addition of w2's due to the cash in of my retirement. this might confuse them, so I'll just add my aunt as a co-sponsor. this should take care of it.

PhilippinesAffidavit of Support --need clarification

Hello all. I've read some of the recent AoS topics in here, but I'm still confused and have some questions if anyone with recent actual experience can verify.

I am the petitioner. My 2012 taxes show I made $64k, and with my family size, I am good on the 125% poverty level requirement. However....I am currently unemployed, however me and my family can still support my fiance. I have heard conflicting stories on what the manila consulate needs/accepts.

I am using an immigration service to do my paperwork and he says from experience, past and present, that all I need is last year's taxes.

But my cousin, who just arrived here on a fiance visa from the Philippines said that they wanted to see last years taxes, and W2's as proof of current employment. They even asked her if her fiance here was employed.

I also hear conflicting stories here that a co-sponsor is not allowed there, but my cousin said as long as it's a direct relative by blood, that they will accept that person as a co-sponsor.

So my question is:

1. Since my 2012 taxes are way above the poverty line, can i get away with submitting that and the W2's that came from my last employer for the 2012 taxes. Is that the W2's they are speaking of as far as proof of employment? If so, then this proves what the immigration service person told me is correct. The only thing that might affect this is in the I-134 where you have to put in you are employed or engaged in the business of ____. Well I don't know how far i can stretch the truth on that, being I am engaged in the business of my current occupation, however no longer work for that employer.  The manila embassy only asks for the AoS and last years tax records, so I don't have to submit a letter from an employer and can technically fill out that section based on my 2012 taxes. Can someone please clear this up for me. Meaning, if I do put in my last employer in that slot and my annual income, along with my 2012 1040 and attached W2's for the taxes, will that pass.

2. Even if I exceed the poverty line, if I want to add in my aunt as a co-sponsor, can anyone else verify if they will accept the co-sponsor in manila.

Sorry if this post seemed to jump around alot, but we're nearing NOA2 and need to start preparing. We've received an RFE 2 days ago for the letter of intent.

PhilippinesJust got NOA2 approved...now how fast can everything go from here?

grrrr. :(

Thanks to everyone for their input.

I guess our petition fell in line with the average 5month timeframe, but then there's the 2 month time frame afterwards to get her here. It's a bit aggravating seeing some petitions on igor's list taking only 3months, then about a few weeks to a month to get the fiance here. I even saw one that was 3 months total. >.<  Well, plan B was Dec 8 for our engagement anniversary. Plan C is to fly her here the morning of Dec 25th so she arrives that afternoon, so she can spend xmas eve there and spend xmas here. Plan D is right before New Years. Plan E is wtfbbqidontknowwhattodobutwait :)

Well, I'll just remain positive. Plan A (Nov 27) would be the Universe helping out and creating some kind of 'balance' since that was the first time I visited the PI specifically for her last year. Hopefully Plan B (which was the original planned date) happens. But the way it looks from what everyone says, it looks like the biggest chance is Plan C for xmas, which would make a great 'present' as well :)

PhilippinesJust got NOA2 approved...now how fast can everything go from here?

Ok, so we finally got the petition approved on 10/25/13. They said they sent a letter to me that day with the approval.

Question about the time frame:  How fast can I actually get my fiance here in the US?

Our goal is to get her here by Thanksgiving or a few days sooner.

Please let me know if this sounds right:

1..I think I read somewhere here in the forums or links that it takes 5-7 days for the NVC to receive the packet.

2..Then 9-14 days to get to Manila.

3..a couple of days to schedule and attend the medical.

4..attend the seminar.

5..a minimum of about 3 days for the first available interview, which if I wanted her here by the 27, she would have to attend the interview around the 21st. I think I would have her phone in the interview right after she makes the medical appointment so she would know to make the interview about 3-4 days after the appointment, unless she has to make the interview appointment first. (??)

I had her gather her required documents already, so no wait on those. I'll be sending my documents to her within the end of the week, express, so she should have it in 2 weeks from now.

So with the estimates above, I would say:

1...USCIS send packet first thing Monday 10/28. NVC receives 10/31.

2...Lets say NVC sends it off that Monday on 11/4. Arrives 11/12 or 11/13. (Is this right, or am i missing a step)

3...MNL# by 11/14.

4...Make appointments on 11/15.

5...Go to medical by 11/18, interview by 11/21.

Does all this sound about right or can a few days be shaved off by getting the mnl# faster?

Can anyone shed a light on the quickest possible timeline if there are no delays and everything just went smoothly, starting from 10/25/13.

Thanks in advance.

PhilippinesI-797 Approval Notice...what's next?

lol. Just took a look at this time of year's average time last year. Looks to be a good average of 45 days from the NOA2 to the Interview for half, and the other half 55-60 days to the interview.  If we hit the average, that'll be right on our engagement anniversary that she does the interview. That could either be a good sign or a scary sign depending on the outcome.ClockWatch2.gif

PhilippinesI-797 Approval Notice...what's next?

Ahh thanks :)  I know when I worked for the government, it's take it easy slow until Nov hits, then everything needed to be done by the end of the year and holidays, so we would be doing 2-3 times the workload. I'm hoping the same here and instead of the 30-45 days, maybe just maybe the usual 2 weeks that the other centers are averaging. Fingers crossed, because this long distance thing is putting a strain on things....being Mercury Retrograde and all :(

RickJusticeMalePhilippines2013-10-30 23:43:00
PhilippinesI-797 Approval Notice...what's next?

Ok, I've read and know it's supposed to go to the NVC, however the Approval Notice says:

The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate.

No where does it says it says it would be forwarded to the NVC. The back says, "If this notice indicates we have approved the immigrant petition you filed, and have forwarded it to the Department of State Immigrant Visa Processing Center, that office will contact the person you filed the petition for directly with information about visa issuance."

Ok, so am I missing something and this is just the new generic statement saying 'consulate' when they actually mean the NVC first then from there the consulate, or is this going straight to the consulate?  The letter came from USCIS.

Maybe just wishful thinking, but I'm guessing just a generic statement but going to NVC. Thoughts?

PhilippinesCo-sponsor at USEM in Manila

Well, goodluck! 'Cause I had my mom co-sponsor us, they didn't take it. Then, we submitted more docs after I got a second part time job, which puts me into 100% above poverty level, and still submitted a co-sponsor from my step-father.. and we got a second refusal. We have a kid together too, but they really don't seem to care about that. Try to go thru with it, cause it really depends on your CO. If not, then go thru CR1/IR1 route.. 'cause my son and I are going back to the Philippines, so my boyfriend and I can get married then file for CR1.

GOOD LUCK!

Question krinamej...

Did your mom's income meet the poverty level (amount determined by counting herself and any dependents + your fiance and any minors on the petition)?

Same with your step father?

My approval was 10/16 from California service center and I just called nvc / dos a few minutes ago.  Nothing yet.  I did see however that someone from CA service center that was approved on 10/8 updated their timeline to say nvc received their file today.  Hope that helps, although it is probably not the news your looking for.

It helps. Seems to be going the usual 30 day timeframe. I hope it speeds up with workers trying to get things done before the holidays. However, I'm seeing posts about interview dates not being available until Jan, which is bad news. Have to rely on luck to get an interview date by mid dec by the time we're able to set an appointment.

PhilippinesOctober 2013 NOA2's --> NVC received dates

Can people that received their NOA2's in October/November 2013 list their NOA2 date here and if they had their files received by the NVC yet. Please include which USCIS center processed you.

This is just so us Oct/Nov people can get a basic idea if the holiday season is making the processing a little faster or slower. I'm sure I would get a bit more excited after seeing a few October petitioners start listing that the NVC received their files.

My NOA2 is Oct 25. from California Service Center. To date, NVC has not received my files yet.

Philippines$25 USD for Unlimited calls to the Philippines

I think vonage will be the way to go for us. No ISP required, 3000mins per month for 29.95 ($40 after obscure fees! Lol). 2hrs per day.

Thanks for the info!

Noooo. Don't go Vonage 3000. Cheaper as in my original post. Lunex or direct on Globe (info at first post and with someone's reply here about the direct on Globe). It's a few dollars cheaper at $25 and it's unlimited and don't need internet at all.

**Vonage runs to about 45 bucks after taxes and fees...and that's if you don't go over the 3000 min.

RickJusticeMalePhilippines2013-10-29 16:08:00
Philippines$25 USD for Unlimited calls to the Philippines

If my fiance was able to have good connection all the time, it would be perfect to just use the free MagicJack app (no subscription required...i can call her if she gets the app too and gives me her number and she can call me.) or viber or skype even. However, it's like on 3 mins then disconnects. This is from unlimited wifi (shared) from a neighbor..haha..but she pays for it around 150 pesos a month. But like I said, it's always on and off. So very annoying during the middle of a phone call. Best just for texting.

Without the neighbor as it currently is, I also figured her getting 50mb load for internet for an average 25 pesos a day is close to me paying for unlimited calls to her. She can save her money, and just get load when she needs to or wants to talk to me outside our calling times. But she can save even more money and just get the 10 pesos internet load only using that browser from android...Opera, and text me on facebook to call her :)

Globe's plan works best for our situation where the internet sucks, and we're both on a budget.

To: Med1023, I didn't know Globe offered it directly too. I wish I knew much earlier. Could have saved so much money from Skype and Vonage >.<  lol.  I only found out when I decided to take a chance and go with Lunex's old plan for like 70 a month and that's when they told me about the new plan :)

RickJusticeMalePhilippines2013-10-28 01:13:00
Philippines$25 USD for Unlimited calls to the Philippines

Hey everyone! Just so you don't have to go through what I did to spend alot of money contacting your significant other in the Philippines, at the bottom is a link to call to set up an account for Unlimited calls to the Philippines (mostly all metro areas) for only $25 usd...effective immediately. I went from hundreds of dollars using skype, then a $100+ for two accounts in Vonage for 2x 3000 minutes to Globe, but afterwards found this company. They used to charge around $39+ and gave a phone to your partner in the Philippines, but have since partnered with Globe. Your partner in the Philippines has to have a globe number which will be registered. She cannot lose it or the month's payment will be useless. You can only change the registered Globe number once a month. They will assign the US half with a US based number which if you have a calling plan for unlimited local or long distance, will work great. I live in California and the number they gave me was from New York, but I have unlimited long distance and minutes on my cell phone so all is great. You have to call monthly to renew.

Also, if you currently have Vonage, call them to cancel the 3000 Globe minutes plan and tell them about this new plan. To keep your business, they will offer you a unlimited local and long distance for $9 a month instead of the usual $25+ that it costs. Just act like you want their business but it's too expensive. They will offer you the $9 plan.

Here's the number and link:

Lunex Telecom (call every month to renew)
888-333-2404

ps--found this on a search for unlimited calls to the Philippines and like I said above it used to be Kabayanunlimited and offered it for 39.99/mo and sent a phone to your partner in the philippines. The phone was around $60. But They partnered with Globe like Vonage and is a wayyyyyy better deal.

Hope this helps some of you. Comment if it did, so this post stays up for newcomers. :)

PhilippinesProcessing Times

Well I've got some news that brought some hope for my situation. I've asked two immigration services and they both said I won't be considered a multiple filer because my first petition, even though it was less than 2 years ago, is considered abandoned. Former fiancee never pursued the visa or left the country with a visa. All that happened was the NOA2. They've been in business for years, so it's some good news. I honestly hope it's true though. :) Fingers crossed.

What's the appointment system looking like? I remember back in Nov 2013, there was nothing open until late January or February. Has it gotten better?

RickJusticeMalePhilippines2014-06-05 10:06:00
PhilippinesProcessing Times

dear God that's fast.

I hope there's a more detailed definition of Multiple Filer that we don't know about. My immigration consultant said even though I filed for my first one less than two years ago, she never went to the interview or never pursued a visa so I'm not a multiple filer. But if I am, I have to request the extraordinary waiver...and I don't know anyone here that's gone through that and their outcome. My DV charge was expunged 14 years ago, got a good job, honorable discharge military, 1 bs , 2x mba's since then, and even became ordained. So with that, hopefully it gets approved, but i still hate to go through that. it'll be alot of sweating more than i am right now.

I've noticed alot of 2nd NOA's being approved within 2 months on Igor's list. Most of them submitted from Febuary to early May.

Did the speed just get faster? I remember last year when I got my first NOA in May 28, it took until Oct 8 just to get an RFE and 10/25 to get the 2nd NOA.

Anyone applied recently...what's your times looking like?

PhilippinesAnyone know the available interview dates?

Can anyone who has been looking at interview dates put some dates on here so I/we can get an idea of the spread for interview dates, etc.  Thanks. Just trying to get an idea. I know the average is 60+ dates from the NOA2. But wanted to get up to date info since most of the people who input their NOA1 and NOA2 seem to be inputting the date they received it in the mail and other days other than what the USCIS site gives them...so the averages are a little skewed.

RickJusticeMalePhilippines2014-10-06 21:05:00
PhilippinesOMG...my long story...so excited right now! Need help though.

ya it was kinda quick. 7 months tbh before I petitioned the other. However, that girl from the 2nd petition kinda charmed me into it. She played her game right. And she was playing a game.

I had to leave the relationship back in late November of last year because of a major 'mistake' on Noni's part. Just my personal rules...and so she can realize her mistake and wake up. We needed time apart...not separated but actual breakup...only way to 'reset' something. Regardless of how close we were to the interview stage, it had to be done.

Feeling lower than #######, I'm somewhat thankful I did find someone to 'bring me back up' even if it was temporary. But the new girl charmed her way in. So I guess she used me, but at least it brought my 'confidence' back up in the process.

However, when me and Noni started talking again after having breathing room for several months...we still saw our friendship was still intact. Heck...my word to her before the breakup was "if she told me the truth, then eventually it can be forgiven". Anyways...the time came when I healed, so we gained back our daily conversations as just friends. She was young and stupid. I know...I made the same mistakes at her age. That's how I was able to forgive her. I just don't want any repeats, hence the breakup and time apart. The rest of the story is as I told it above...when I realized...lose my best friend, or go on with the petition of the girl who I found out to be just using me, it was an easy choice. Anyways...I know we have to explain our time apart. Not going to tell any lies, not going to beautify it, but still thinking on how to explain it without making us look bad for our decisions...her's primarily.

PhilippinesOMG...my long story...so excited right now! Need help though.

Your file is still open at USEM, so the original case file is still there also... no worries.  Seriously it will be of NO value bringing a copy of the I-129F petition to the interview.  Your fiancee may want to read it, but then you changed jobs and such so not of much value there either.... so still next to useless.  Your fiancee needs to know all about your new job, and anything else that has changed, just in case they ask.

Did you get an appointment scheduled with CFO already?

no appointment yet. We'll be doing that later on today. I checked the availability and there's alot of open slots.

Did you withdraw the 2nd petition in writing with USCIS or whatever?  Not sure where you were in that process, was it with USCIS or was it on the way to NVC/USEM?

The copy of the I-129F application (original) is not needed nor requested at the interview, USEM has the original. ;)  So don't bring ANY... rule #1 =  Never DO-DO when DO  will DO.   Do NOT volunteer information, only answer questions honestly.

You will need LOTS of evidence of an ongoing relationship, latest airfare tickets, more pictures, etc, etc - very possible the embassy will be curious, so be prepared.   Just don't offer it up unless ASKED.

Make sure your fiancee is knows all about you, your work, your home etc.  Updated information about you will be done in the DS-160 and the I-134.

For everything else, follow the flashing arrow below.

The 2nd petition was withdrawn in writing and I got confirmation of the withdrawal. I'll be calling USCIS to put a hold on the 3rd petition (Noni's new petition) today. I hope I can do that.

Just a little frightened the embassy won't have the old petition since it's been 10months with no word from us. However, 2 of the agents there said they automatically renew it ever 4 months. So I'm hoping for the best. I'll grab a copy of the old petition from the immigration service I used last year. Just in case. But yep...we'll get all the needed paperwork and new evidence for the interview. I hope a pic collage on a piece of paper with brief descriptions will do, along with the new ring receipt and passport stamps.  We're on overdrive now as this was totally unexpected. Doing the payment later today 8pm pst, then the medical on Friday, CFO on Monday or sometime next week, and we're going to try for an interview Oct 22-24. And with any luck and no hold, she should be here by Thanksgiving. :)
