Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	2 year green card will expire on 7/28/08	It means that they have received and accepted your I-751 application and are reviewing it. It has not been approved yet. Several other things must happen first. You will receive a second notice - an appointment to have your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) done. Once they have completed the security check based on the biometrics and reviewed your application, they will notify you that a) they wish to see more evidence (an RFE); b ) they wish to see you for an interview and will set up an appointment, or c) approve you without an interview and will send you the 10 year green card. There is no saying how long - or how short - a time this will take:-). Carry the notice that you quoted above along with your expired green card - together they prove that your green card is extended for a full year while they assess your application. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Identification Card limited term extension	Some States used to provide longer term driver's license based on proof of legal immigrant status. About 2 years ago laws changed and now all States seem to renew DL for the term of validity offered by the immigration document provided. I had to renew my license a month after my green card expired and I had never received an NOA. I did get the stamp 3 weeks before my green card expired - and that is to when my DL is renewed - even though the first one I had was good for 4 years. The renewal is only good for 11 months. Evidence from people on this list shows that generally the I-751 is approved within a few days of receiving the requested information and the green card received within the month. Some go faster and some go slower, but this seems to be about the norm, so much so that I am hoping to receive an RFE because that means that they are finally working on my file and the end is in sight! Are the tax returns joint returns? If so, they would also tie your wife to the house as well as the documents you have tying her to the apartment. If in doubt, explain! It won't block the harassment from individuals but it will stop the telemarketers. If they continue to call you, you can report them and it does seem to work. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 Doing Interview vs. Getting GC assigned ???	The majority of cases are approved without an interview. You may wish to have someone monitor your mail and if you receive anything from USCIS while you are away, they are to open it and advise you of its contents. If it is an interview date, then you can decide them how to handle it. As well, you don't say when you sent in your I-751 to Vermont. Vermont is currently processing applications submitted December 2007. If your application was submitted around that time you may still hear something before your holidays. Marilyn is right - they do want to see it is a joint account - however, it doesn't hurt to show both of you using the account as well. Since you're in Florida your application is in Vermont which is currently taking about 11 to 13 months to process I-751s so assuming nothing changes I think you are probably looking at an approval around next March-ish. If you don't have your 10 year green card by the time your current stamp expires you can take an unexpired passport and get a new stamp, or take 2 passport photographs and they will make up an I-94 card extending your status for a year that they can then put into your expired passport. Yes, if you renew your passport in February the stamp will still be valid until the month in 2010 that is a year later. There appears to be a gap of about a week around the end of February where people seem to be in limbo - I am hoping it is just because the officer on whose desk these files ended up was lazy and didn't bother to update the system and kick out those biometrics and online updates, rather that there is any other problem - although that is certainly annoying enough! Definitely make INFOPASS appointments, bring your current green cards and your unexpired passports and USCIS will put the I-551 stamp in your passport extending your status for a year. C had his biometrics today. Nothing new there really other than the security guard kept calling him Canadian.. lol Anyway, that's done with and now we sit and wait. We've not gotten any word that we've been shipped off to VSC yet either. hehehe, there could be worse fates than being thought a Canadian! Check your online status either later on tonight or tomorrow and you will probably see two things - a notice that effective such and such a date your file was transferred to Vermont, and then a touch or two the next few days. The numbers on the I-551 are my A#, the original case number written on the back of the cheque, the date the conditional green card expires, today's date as date of issue and the expiry date as one year from today - plus, the notation that I-751 filed TSC 03/03/08. That was the date my application was officially delivered by USPS and TSC signed for it. The cheque wasn't cashed until 7 days later and the online status 'receipt date' was March 11 - which is also the date the IO who gave me my biometrics number on the Call line said was the date the file was received. I find it interesting that the delivery date is the one they wrote on my I-551 - and she obviously got it off of her screen because she didn't ask to see the copy of the canceled cheque or anything else. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	NEW TSC 1-751 List - Filers since February of 2008 that are staying at the TSC	Ok - got my I-551 stamp, and you are right, it was 'easy peasy':-). Arrived in plenty of time so waited in the car reading until it was 15 minutes prior to my appointment. Just put my purse, my belt ,my watch and my folder in the container to go through the x-ray scanner, went through the metal detector, picked up my belongings and headed inside with barely a break in stride:-). Got letter A96 at the counter and sat down to wait. They were at A89. Ten minutes later my number was called. The woman asked me why I was there and I explained I had filed my I-751 back in February and had never received an NOA extension letter. She asked if I had an unexpired passport and my greencard with me. I said, yes, and she said, 'well then, we can do something to help you out today". She took the passport, looked up information on her computer from my greencard, stamped my passport, wrote all sorts of numbers on it (hehehe) and handed both back to me saying I was good to go. I was out of there before the time of my actual 12 noon appointment:-). Friendly staff, no hassle and in fact, easier than at the ASC for the biometrics. I didn't bring my cell phone in but there was a girl talking on hers in the restroom so they don't confiscate them obviously. I also noticed the sign that said 'no food or cell phone use in waiting area' was on the next column over from the door to the vending machines:-). Plenty of parking, too, btw - and a number of other people sitting around waiting in cars either until their appointment times or until someone inside was finished. The recent transfers seem to be in smaller groups, although the message of the transfer doesn't always post until after the biometrics are done so it is hard to tell for sure.
