what is mod and what means thread and it is ok when we file again to send just copies and alos how long do you think we should wait cos we dont want to waist anymore precious time anymore omg no more waisted time

Don't worry, Marie_yahya. A 'mod' is a person who makes sure things go smoothly on the forum. I am a mod so I just took your other two posts that were in separate places along with the answers you received there and put them all together in one place so you have all the information in the same place. That makes it easier for others to answer you as well and easier for you to find the answers.

A 'thread' is a series of posts like this one all about the same thing. So you had started 3 separate but identical threads and I combined them into 1 thread. I hope this helps explain what happened.

Good luck with your application. I am sure you will get lots of useful answers from our Visa Journey members.

Comments by Flower in removed post returned here:

You've already bad mouthed me in two posts. The hostilty is evident even if you are in denail about it. You've also already said you're part of the wolf pack mentality. These posts are futher proof of the hate, malice, and ill will that is offered by them towards other members. This is the kind of thing I discourage towards new membership and take issue with. It's not necessary to prey on the weak. There is or was a place for that over on expats and you're talking like that's here and it's not and Ewok has already warned about this unacceptable behavior and even pinned a thread about bringing it into the regionl forums from off topic. Furthermore, as Lisa pointed out about your reading comprehension I said cracking heads not crack heads. To address what you aired about me for those that don't know is The Hot Arab Club was a harmless fun thread I started the summer before last with over 50 mememers who joined the majority from MENA. Soffyia (formerly VW) derailed the thread and still takes pride in doing so saying it was immodest and we are heathens and eventually LaL changed the titled and then someone moved it to Off Topic because of the name change and then eventually it was made invisible not per my request. As for the issue with my Husband from over 2 years ago when I was a new member I've already kindly asked for people not to bring that up anymore. From what I read it was a harmless flirtation that happened once it's old news and we've worked it out back then. My issue was that he lied to me about why he added her to his account in the first place and then lied about deleting her and not talking to her anymore when they exchanged messenger ID's. It was like posion to my soul at the time and I had to go to one sided marriage counseling for 6 months afterwards. So thank you for your general lack of understanding and insensitivity. Now that I've repeated myself I ask you personally not to bring it up anymore. The only reason to do that is to hurt me. As for the drunk posts on here or there they are harmless and in fun as well and generally do come with a *hiccup* in the post. If you think I'm on drugs and posting you can't prove that and I deny it, except for when I take medicine for allergies, but I don't think that's what you're implying. You can't prove what you are claiming and that's slander which technically is a punishable offense in the court of law. Not that I am going to sue you but it has happened and more cases are coming out involving the internet so be warned about the course of action you choose to take with your written word, especially if you choose not to remove it and leave it out there. This is not Expats.

Finally some people have long and selective memories is what I'm sure you really mean.

Thank you for your post. It is a concern to many of us how some of the comments made to serious concerns and questions are treated like a joke to some members, especially those who have finished their immigration journey or who haven't experienced a lot of problems. VJ is meant to be a helpful and supportive community - and for the most part it is. There are a few, however, who seem to have forgotten what it felt like when they first started this process.

I would like to ask those who feel short-tempered or 'smart alecy' when someone asks an obvious question that has been asked many times before, to try to respond in a helpful way, or not respond at all if all you can do is be critical. The question may be old hat to you, but it is new to the poster. Direct them to where they can find out the information they can use in a courteous manner. Being insulting never helped anyone and it honestly doesn't make you look clever.

Sometimes it is easy to forget what we each experienced at the start of our own visa journeys, how overwhelming the process seemed then, how daunting all the paperwork was - and all at the same time as trying to handle a long distance relationship with the frustrations of separation and all of the emotional ups and downs those entail. If we each try to remember what it felt like when we first started our visa journeys and respond from that place of empathy as well as from our current positions of experience, then Visa Journey will continue to be a helpful and supportive place.

Middle East and North AfricaJust to clear things up
I will concur with Charles.

This is an internet forum where we exchange information behind the anonymity of user names. If we were all restricted to user names that reflect the absolute truth of who we are there would be some very unhappy people out there because their current user names reflect desires, wishful/hopeful thinking, hyperbole, exaggeration, outright nonsense or even issues that are important to them. There is nothing wrong with that, though. The thing is, a user name is really just an identity tool that one uses to participate in a forum. As Shakespeare said . . 'A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" so it really doesn't matter what screen name or user ID someone selects (as long as it isn't offensive) - it does not change the reality of who the person really is. Just because someone wants to select a screen name of 'Silver Wolf' or "High Priestess" or "Green Eggs 'n Ham" it does not mean they are a silver wolf or a high priestess or green eggs and ham. It is attaching far more importance to a basic tool than it requires, or as Charles so aptly put it, it really is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Middle East and North AfricaLeaving VJ
Alright, quite frankly, I am appalled at the behaviour of many of you in this thread. It is this cavalier, uncaring, insulting and smart-alecky behaviour that leads to individuals leaving VJ. Mouad'sWife isn't the only one who has been chased away by people who think it is more important to score brownie points off of other VJ members than to try and be helpful. Just because you feel you 'have it together' doesn't give you the right to snarky replies, insults or personal attacks - and this thread is rife with them.

If you have nothing useful to say, then say nothing at all. Since people aren't interested in offering help or understanding in this thread and like to treat other peoples' problems and concerns like some big joke, I am closing this thread due to numerous TOS violations.

I repeat - STOP the personal attacks and insults. For all new members who have obviously not yet taken the time to read the Terms of Service (TOS), do so now. http://www.visajourn...h...&page=terms You agreed to abide by them when you signed on to your membership on this forum. Failure to abide by them will be met with administrative actions against the violators.

QUOTE (amysaid @ Nov 14 2009, 03:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Morning everyone! Last night the hubby and kid and I went to the mall, and when we came out, I heard the most pitiful meowing. I finally narrowed the sound down and it was coming from the engine of a car in the parking garage. I am kind of a sap for animals, so we ended up waiting around 2 hours for the owner of the car to come back from the movies and open the hood. What crawled out was the dirtiest, grimiest black and white kitten ever tongue.gif We took it home and warmed it up and we are now discovering that it is also the NOISIEST kitten ever. tongue.gif

Good for you! I am always terrified that kittens will be caught inside my car engine (we have ferals in the neighbourhood) and this summer one of the kittens did indeed start hiding in the cars. I had to go and bang on my husband's car in the morning before he left for work to make sure the kitten wasn't there - and I always opened up my car's hood to check - and chase him out if he was there. That little kitten is so very very lucky you were there and were willing to take the time to wait for the car's owner to come out. Congratulations on your new addition - the poor little kitten is probably hungry and frightened and all sorts of other stuff after being inside the car's engine - was probably stuck there when the car was been driven sad.gif. Once he feels safe and secure he should settle down a lot- he's probably still calling for "mommie" and wondering why she doesn't come.

The warning is for everyone. As I said, if you are not able to continue the discussion that is raised in the original post in a positive way, then do not continue at all. If you have problems with a post - as Charles says - use the report button.

Moderation here is no different than in any other thread. Moderators respond to reports - if we get a report, we respond. If we do not get a report, then unfortunately some issues that should be addressed don't get addressed. It has nothing to do with moderators choosing not to respond. If we don't know about it, then we don't have the opportunity to respond, so if you want an issue addressed, use the report button and we will respond.

I was not showing sensitivity in my thread. What I was trying to express what how acts like these affect Islam and other people. My family is aware I am marrying a muslim man, so given past and recent events, and have become the black sheep of the family and everyone thinks that because he is muslim, and bc past and recent events that his only agenda is to come here to make another 911 or to convert ppl again their will. The media is not exactly helpful in deterring these incorrect thoughts. Certainly events like these have impacted other vjers lives. And Im wondering how are they dealing with it. I get alot of crass comments where I work bc they know I am marrying a muslim, and bc I have reverted. Seems when we are all in the same pot, we can (should be) able to constructivly communicate about such matters.

Exactly. I think this is a valid concern. Perhaps the discussion can address this issue?
