Hey VJ.

I am the USC petitioner.

I need some help. I was not planning to get my NOA2 so fast. I got it today. It's only been 4 weeks! :rofl: My husband and I were not planning for him to come till late april/early may so we decided it's best to delay the case a bit. For many reasons, it's best for us to wait. However, I want to make sure I do things right. I read some wiki guides, but i'm still a little confused about what to do next.

1. When do I call NVC to get a case number?? Do I still need to get a invoice identification number? What is the difference between that and a case number? Additionally, I would provide my email as well as my husbands....correct? :blink:

2. When do I email the DS-3032?? Right after I get the information above from NVC? :help:

3. Since I want to delay the case a bit, do I have to pay the fees (AOS and IV) asap? Or can this be delayed too?

4. If the fees cannot wait and I pay them soon, is this where I halt, and wait on sendings AOS and IV packets since I would like to delay the case for a couple of months? :help:

AGAIN, I read the guides, and I'm still a little confused. Thanks in advance!! :dance:

I received NOA2 MAY 2nd when will I be contacted by NVC and how will they contact me?BY THE WAY I HAVE A LAWYER... By e-mail or regular mail? How do I know they received my case? I'm confused I JUST WANT TO KNOW ANY ADVICE OR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APRECIATED!


call them after a week. we were approved last april 18 and we still don't have our case no. from NVC.

It is not needed for the petition (I-129f). It is needed for the interview.

It is also necessary that you carefully read and understand the instructions for the I-129f before you send it to avoid RFEs



It is not required for the petition. She is asking about the petition.

People need to read the OPs questions. She specifically asked if th affidavit of support is needed with the I-129f ( I hope it is the I-129f and not I-129) petition

The correct answer is NO it is not needed for the petition.

Yes. The Affidavit of Support is required. The US Government wants proper documentation that the petitioner has adequate financial support so you don't end up as a public charge. Providing information about his jobs and salary is not enough. He needs to file the Affidavit of Support.

No Affidavit of Support = denial of visa for failure to submit an Affidavit of Support.

Did anyone else here have to wait for their NOA1? I sent in the form for a text or email, but nothing..
I haven't gotten the return receipt either. Now I'm worried, even though I checked the address several times.

Everyone seems to have gotten some kind of notification within 3 days, is there anyone else whose notification took longer?
