K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOther names Used of Fiance on I-129F? Question 7?

When you answer N/A it either means it's not applicable, or info is not available. Your info IS available, and your info is relevant. And that way the embassy won't hae a hard time matching the name up with the one on her birth cert., and the background check is probably also not going to come up with anything unforseen. You ALWAYS use the legal name on any paperwork submitted to official agencies.

You go by the name that's in her passport or on original birth certificate. If that name has non-roman letters in. you type is in the box. If she has changed her name, she'll be required to show proof of legal name change a embassy stage.

The above is very good information. Include all of your gals names...
A good example, my FBI report lists all of my "aliases."

There's no difference in approval procedure at this petition stage (USCIS) than with any beneficiary from any other country. The big differences occur at the consular stage. You can read embassy info & embassy reviews by clicking the links atop any VJ page, and you can read experiences and post questions in the China regional subforum:

http://www.visajourn...forum/94-china/

I beg to differ with your above stated opinion. While the majority of countries are treated the same, some countries are treated differently. For example, Haitian and Cuban refugees. Just my educated opinion.
You education and experience may differ.

Hi,
Try to always keep in mind, you have just began the VJ process... The most important thing you know for now is that you are part of the process.
Patience..., please.
My gal is in the process of getting her 10-year green card, the process of "Removal of Conditions"...
Just like you the USCIS has acknowledged out petition and we are "patiently" waiting...
Best of luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre Bar Girls Disqualified From Getting a Visa?
The USCIS only knows what you tell them... And, trust me, people only tell the USCIS what they want them to know.
Honestly, unless there is a "reason" for you to tell the USCIS that your gal is a "bar girl," and I have no idea what that reason might be for you to tell the USCIS that you gal is a "bar girl,"don't do it!
Best of luck,

the 125% income of poverty level is going to be an issue for you. Either you, the petitioner or your co-sponsor must meet this requirement. The USCIS is following a "very structured" process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Denied
As you had stated earlier, the following was included within the RFE:

"Among the phrases in the request for evidence letter:

- "According to the Family Code of the Philippines..."

- "Please provide a local civil registered parental consent stating that the beneficiary is free to marry according to Philippines laws.""

In the future please, keep in mind that you are dealing with a very "structured process" that the USCIS is following. And, yes I know you are NOT marrying in the Phil., but you are petitioning a very young woman, age 19, that is going to need that letter of parental consent - you should have gotten that letter and included it with the RFE. I believe you do realize now that is what the USCIS was asking for. I believe this letter would have provided the USCIS with needed documentation that was going to be required by the Phil. Government, CFO, or whoever... and this letter would have met the requirement(s) of the RFE.
Hindsight is 20 - 20. Best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance wants to work abroad

It's very common for Dubai employers to hold their employees' passport. I wouldn't work over there if I were your fiance.

Yes, this is VERY COMMON! DO NOT EVER SURRENDER YOUR PASSPORT FOR ANY REASON! As this is your only internationally recognized ID and to travel. If you do surrender your passport, keep a copy of the data page. This will be needed to take to your home country embassy to get permission to return home and this will take some time! Again, NEVER EVER SURRENDER YOUR PASSPORT ESPECIALLY TO AN EMPLOYER!
Best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Delivery

From the timeline signature the OP has, the visa was not necessarily approved at the day of interview. Judging by what I have read from others, it can happen that the embassy will ask for something missing rather than handing out denial or AP. For example, I have seen many where the CO was willing to approve but needed say one piece of info. such as NBI clearance (in the case of the Philippines). In this case, the CO would hold on to the passport and just wait for the requested document/evidence such as an RFE in the petition stage. The request is fulfilled, and the visa is officially approved.

Thanks for the reply. I have known others that have experienced the same as you stated above.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Delivery

Certainly. It would be a good idea to contact the embassy and 2GO courier at this point. Normally, 2GO should have it delivered within 2 weeks. Since, they had to submit additional documents, this would cause delay. However, it is coming up to 2 weeks now. OP, if you haven't already, why don't you try and track your visa on the 2GO website? If it isn't available for tracking, why don't you contact the embassy and ask them about it?

2GO Tracking: http://supplychain.2...trace/index.asp

You should be able to track the visa either by passport number or MNL case number.

I'm just curious and would appreciate any info. from members that have had personal experience and knowledge regarding a visa being "approved" and later, additional documents being asked for by the embassy issuing the visa. I have no knowledge of a visa being approved and then, additional documents/evidence being asked for. It is my personal experience and knowledge that once a visa has been approved no additional documents/evidence is needed.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPicture of Complete Application
On the "Guides" link at the top of the website there are examples of how to assemble your package. For me, I used a "Table of Contents" page where I listed everything I wanted/needed to include in the package and followed it. I have read where others didn't use a "Table of contents" page, assembled their package, and were successful. However you do it, I would use a checklist to make sure everything required/needed and wanted was included to, hopefully, submit the best package possible. Others will offer what and how they did it. What kind of package/petition are you asking about? This may help you get a better idea of what you might be looking for.
Best of luck!

Yes. And as you say, it is a "significant amount," you might want to include a copy of the court order and how long it has been in effect and the reliability/history of your ex-spouse to pay the "support" as it may be important to justify your income requirement. Unless you have about a year of free time and lots of spending money it might be in your best interest to wait until she has the ability to schedule her interview. For now, you have quite a while to wait, at least 6 months depending on the service center you applied to. Once the petition is approved here and forwarded by the NVC to the embassy in Manila your gal will still have to have her medical and hope everything is ok there. Then there is the CFO, PDOS and any other seminars she may have to attend. Once she gets her interview letter you can make plans to visit her then. Also, keep in mind that you may or may not be allowed to attend the interview with her - that depends on the CO that will interview her. It can be a toss up as the whether or not the CO will allow you to attend her interview. Patience for now and let the petition take the process...
Best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGot the MNL#. whats next?
Please be prepared that you/your gal may or may not receive a package from the USEM. You should have the MNL case#. I would suggest that you wait a couple of weeks and the start contacting the USEM daily [or regularly] by calls/emails to verify when they get the package and what needs to be done next. Personally, I would hold up paying the IV bill until you get embassy package, the medical taken care of, the CFO seminar and any other BS required by the US embassy and Phil. government.
Best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCancelled visa

I had a visa with my future wife and I canceled this about 2 weeks ago. I made a mistake and I still want to proceed. How can I restart this Visa if at all possible. I thought this my lady was not being honest with me and i jumped to conclusions. My mistake, but i would like to move forward still with her. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated. The visa was about three months in when i sent cancellations in.

Assuming that your "visa" cancellation has been received and acknowledged by the USCIS, you really only have one option. Drop back and punt - that is, start the whole petition process "all over" again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129f -- asking for criminal records
In the US, all a USC has to do is go to a local county sheriff's department, pay the fee ($10 in my county in GA) and get a complete criminal record that [should] include local, state and federal records. But, in my county the person requesting the criminal report has to be the person listed on the criminal report. i.e., you may need permission from the person to request a criminal report on that person. I don't know if this will help in your case or not.
Best of luck!

I believe if you meet the income requirements and can prove just that, no bills come into play. I'm personally attaching the last 3 years of tax transcripts, a few recent pay stubs and a letter from my employer. Nothing else, cut and dry.

As long as your meet the "requirements" for the visa you applied for don't worry about any bills... We all have bills, some paid and some unpaid. Best wishes!

Use your new passport not the old one. Bring both the old one and the new one to the interview in case they ask questions. But only give them the new one if you pass and get the visa stamped in the new one.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresConfusion o the Letter of Declaration of how we meet (merged)

The example letter of intent is fine. You don't need to make it fancy or be creative with it. They just want the simple statement of intent signed by you. The following are examples you can use for each of your letters. The addresses on the example form here on VJ are just a formality and not required in the letters.

(Date Here)

To Whom It May Concern,

I, (USC petitioner?s name), do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry (foreign fiance(e)?s name), and intend to so within 90 days of (his/her) entrance into the US by way of a K-1 visa.
