K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January 2013 filers	Congrats to everyone else who has made it this far,    I have a question about the medical and interview for those who are going through that now.   I just received packet 3 finally and am getting ready to book my medical, how close should it be to my interview and how long does the medical take, is it a 1 visit thing? or do i have to go back the next day? do they send me home with results or forward them directly to the consulate?    Thanks everyone!!! I think I shouldn't have contacted my senator, because it probably pissed them off and they put my papers in a special stack =( No, I don't think they would do that, There are still people from December waiting as well. This isn't an easy process and at no point should anyone think it is. Keep holding strong, I'm contacting the Congressman on the 30th if my fiance and I don't hear anything. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January 2013 filers	Hey, might be totally off topic. I filed late Jan.... NOA1 was Jan28. Originally was at VSC and was moved to TSC June21. I've received the 3 different messages from them saying I was moved bla bla. Now just waiting .... I'm new btw but I've read the forums for about a week now and thought it was time to join the conversations lol. This wait has taken such a toll on my life overall. It's crazy but all I pray for is that it's worth it in the end Trust me I'm with you we have pretty much the exact same dates and scenerio. Keep strong, our times shall come!! IM APPROVED !!! You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. But its weird seeing feb filers getting approved ahead of me since i filed in january   There are people at VSC being approved from march and february and yes most of us Jan filiers are still waiting! Hopefully with the updated processing time there will be more of us approved shortly!!! I hope this means they're catching up on the back-log of petitions that were filed. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	HELP!	Okay so I'm new to this and have JUST started to fill out all the applications and get everything together for my K1 package. Now even though I've read through 90% of the discussions on this forum (which all of you are so very helpful and informative) I just want to get some things clarified if possible. First off, I have to say, I'm doing most of the work on this because my fiance is pretty busy and is helping as much as possible but I tend to be a little bit of a perfectionist and don't share tasks well, as well I happen to enjoy scouring the internet for information into the wee hours of the morning, so I'm doing my best to get everything done properly for what HE needs to fill out and what I need to fill out. He's sponsoring me to move to the states, and I'm from Canada. I have the I-129f filled out, all my fiance has to do is sign it. My G-325A finished and ready, I still need to get the photo done. We have the G-1145 set out in his name so we get notification of the acceptance. I have a cover letter, questions 18, letters of intent to marry from him and myself, letters, pictures, phone records, skype log, and receipts (proof of meeting) Neither of us have been married, convicted of crimes or have had our names changed for any reason, therefor we have no need for the certificates requested. Is there anything I'm missing? I saw on some of these topics that people had friends and family members write letters, declaring that the relationship is bona fide and real. His Mother is more than willing, as is mine and a few of our friends. Should these be included in this package, or is this something that comes up in the second part of the filing? Also, to whom do I address the cheque for payment of the petition (I have not seen this anywhere and I feel foolish asking seeing as how everyone else seems to know) lol, and does my fiance, the petition(er) need a G-325A form filled out as well? I noticed that on the K1 step by step, but on the site it says "To provide biographic information on an alien. You file this form only as instructed on another Immigration application or petition." So is it necessary for him, since he is a born-resident of the United States? That one confuses me. You guys were so much help before and i got everything ready to go but came to a snag so i'm all ready to file and get this going i just have a few last minute questions about what i need to do First off- When we send the "proof" of relationship ie. my phone records, can i black out all the numbers that aren't his? My parents, friends, and colleagues really don't need to have their numbers mailed out in my opinion. Secondly- do we send photocopies of the pictures first and bring originals, or should i go to walmart and make copies of all my photos? They were taken on a phone and printed off the computer though i'm sure many people do this, i'm just curious about the correct procedure. third- I've read through the step by step guide a thousand times and steps 12-14 do not apply to our situation, should i state somewhere, maybe in the cover letter, that neither of us have been married/ divorced/ convicted of any crimes? or will they figure that out through the other forms (biographic information and such?) I want to make sure everything runs smoothly so if i could get a little advice or a few pointers? I have the following in a folder, everything that is together is attached with paper clips knowing that I'm not supposed to staple anything; Cheque in amount of current fee for filing I129 cover letter g-1145 I 129F I-129 F supplement part B question 18 G-325 A -Sponsor(attached photo) G-325 A -Beneficiary (attached photo) Letter of intent to marry-sponsor Letter of intent to marry- Beneficiary his proof of American citizenship (both sides of birth certificate) proof of having met in person (includes passport stamps with flight itineraries [as i cannot find the boarding passes] and receipt, pictures of us together in both his country and mine, letters from my mom and best friend certifying our relationship, letter from his mom certifying our relationship) is there anything I'm leaving out? neither of us have been married, engaged in criminal activity or require any other sort of certificates or decrees. Also, how do you put it together, can we just leave it in the plain filing folder all together and pop that in an envelope? does it need to be in any sort of order? we're sending this out as soon as he has it put together!!! Should we save ourselves the hassle of getting a possible RFE and just send the originals of the proof of ongoing relationship and having met in person? I don't want to send the photocopies and then have them turn around and ask me for the originals via RFE and delay my application... Thanks guys! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Visiting???	My Fiancé and I are about to send in our package, and I have my vacation booked to see him for Christmas. Since we are only JUST mailing the I-129F petition, I'm wondering if when I cross the boarder should I mention that we have just applied for the K1 visa and are awaiting our approval? I don't want to go to the boarder and say I'm visiting a 'boyfriend' when I've just applied for a Fiancé visa, but at the same time because I'm driving to North Dakota (2 hours from me) and flying out of there to save money, I don't want to be turned away from the boarder. I am only going to see him for 2 weeks (dec.22- jan 7) should I still bring a letter from my landlord just stating I've given her post dated cheques and a letter from my employer stating I am due back at work in January? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	DALLAS LOCK BOX URGENT!	Requiring the signature will not be a problem but COULD delay the delivery. The post office will put a notice in the drop box that they need to sign for a delivery and someone will have to go to the post office, wait in line and sign for your package. Delivery confirmation tat can be tracked online is all that is needed. So they will go then? The tracking online says a notice has been left for them i was just worried that they wouldn't actually go pick it up and sign for it and we would hav to wait for it to be returned and then resend it to the right place or sent without a signature required thing. My fiance sent in our package to the dallas lock box and he got a tracking number for it since the post office lost my money order when i tried to send it to him, the problem being he sent it with a signature needed, without knowing, he asked for them not to require a signature since it was a drop box. my question is will they pick this up or will it be sent back to him. If they won't pick this up are we able to call and have it forwarded to another address? im super worried now that this will not make it to the right place, please help, i want this process to go smoothly. thanks in advance. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	visiting canada	I'm from Canada, My fiancé is in the states and he is sponsoring me to move there and be with him. Our application has just been accepted and now we're in the "initial review" stage. My Fiance wants to come visit me for a little while as his work has just come to a halt until summer. How long can he stay with me or does he absolutely need to stay in the United States for the duration of the visa process? It would be nice if he could come spend a few weeks with me since his work is postponed until June anyway. I know there is a chance that I can be denied entry going to visit him but does he have anything to worry about? Does he need to mention that we are petitioning to move me there? just wondering what everyone else went through when the US party wanted to visit their other half. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Super confused- change to i129f	I see a lot of people saying that an approval comes shortly after the message comes up as " on such and such a date there has been a change to your alien registration number" and everyone telling each other the approval comes right away? My fiancé and I check our status all the time we are still in initial review and it says: "On January 30, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance." You  need a Canadian Police certificate from your local RCMP.   The doctors are in Vancouver, Montreal or Toronto.   Here is the list of vaccinations required  http://www.panelphys...munizations.htm   You  need your vaccination history before you go for your medical   good luck   My dad works for the RCMP so it shouldn't be difficult to aqcuire that, though it doesn't specify what the certificate is for? Is this a criminal records check? prints? I'm sure if i ask my dad he'll ask me what sort of certificate i need lol. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Does a Medical Exam expire?	I'm in my 5th month of waiting and I'm hoping that I get some sort of response soon regarding my K1- I129F Visa. I was wondering, how far ahead of time can I take the Medical? I don't want to leave it till last minute in case anything goes wrong, but at the same time I'm not sure if the medical expires so I don't want to take it too far ahead of time!    Also, can any doctor do this exam or am I going to have to travel for that too? Are there specifics I have to take with me when I go see the doctor? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	how many packets, and time frame?	Hi all!    So we sent in our initial packet back in January and like most we are still waiting for our NOA2. I'm just curious, when I started this a lot of people said I just take the NOA2 packet to the Interview and from there I'm approved(or not), But then i read there is a packet 3 and a packet 4 but I cannot seem to get much info on them! If someone could help me out, do i have to process these packets before I go to the interview? Is there are a charge? I'm getting slowly more and more overwhelmed as I wait to be with my fiance and I'm already an impatient person lol. Any help would really be nice. Thank you!! My fiancé asked me about the downsides and I said I'm sure there are some but I haven't heard. Has anyone had a bad experience after contacting the congressman when their case has taken a while to process? I don't want him to do anything that will possibly jeopardize our case. Please help. The email/text notifications do not always happen, just like the online status info is not always accurate or even updated at all. The system is glitchy and not even close to perfect.   Yes I checked our case status an it said on Friday we were transferred to our local office. I just hate the not knowing it drives me bonkers. I HOPE I was transferred lol the ones who get transferred seem to get dealt with quicker. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Notifications	The transfers have been going to the TSC and not actually your local office. I do not know if those transferred to the TSC from the VSC have all received hard copies of the transfers, but they seem to have transferred a lot of petitions so it might just take a bit to receive an actual letter, if you do at all. You may just receive the update online later that your petition was approved and then receive the hard copy NOA2 approval notice in the mail.   But email notifications as well? Our file jut got transferred to our local service center and most people say that they get notifications. We never received an email. When we got our original I-797 in January we never received a hard copy. Is it something to worry about that there is no communication from them? I only have the 1 original email. Nothing ever came in the mail. It worries me none the less that the only info I've gotten is the info I've personally dug around for. Anyone else had this problem? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Immunization!!	You're not under 18. They are meant for those people because when they are kids THAT is when they most commonly catch those things. You're over 18, you're not a high risk, not required.   There's a magical thing in your body that becomes extra immune the moment you turn 18. Think of it this way... If it mattered for you to get the vaccine over 18, then why list an age requirement? It would just say everyone needs all of these. But they say things like hepatitis b is required for ages 18 and under but I never got it. Do I still have to get it now? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	unemployment	My Fiance seems to be bouncing back and forth with work right now, and we are slowly creeping by this process as we have just been transferred and are hoping for some sort of answer soon. My big question is the Affidavit of Support. If he becomes unemployed, are we doomed? I know you can have a co-sponsor and his family is willing to lend us a hand there as they are all 100% supportive of our relationship, bt is his financial standings going to cause us problems if he is unemployed at the time of my interview? I worry how to go about this step, if he is financially unstable when our NOA2 comes around, does he fill out an affidavit of support as well as a family member or just the family member?
