I will. Thank you so much!!!! You guys are better than my "lawyer" :bonk:

I've seem numerous instances where lawyers are either incompetent, scum, or just take the slow, long, relaxed route, which is insulting considering the amount of money you give them. Research and read the guides here, and save the money, and have the peace of mind. Posted Image

All of our packages were sent in as of the 9th of April... Not sure when I should start calling NVC inquiring about a case complete, seeing as they always say give us 10-20 business days to process everything...

Call in each day this week, twice a day if not more, I would say they'll be reviewed at the end of the week or early next week unless they are clearing the backlog faster than before.

Well My 2nd week has been started 3 days before, lets see now if I get good news this week or no. its so depressing, one checklist and the whole process delayed by one month :(

Any luck? My checklist just arrived there this morning, gonna start calling in a few days. It's wierd, i'm actually... HAPPY to be calling, rather than waiting on documents. Posted Image

hmm..I wonder when we'll get a case complete. It's been ten days since we sent our checklist documents. Sigh! :(

From what i've read, it takes about the same time as it does to review anything else, so approximately 2 weeks. I just mailed my checklist yesterday, so it'll be 2 weeks from tomorrow. Posted Image I put URGENT and IMPORTANT on the envelope inside the mailing envelope, hoping it helps catch someones attention and they review it faster! Posted Image

Typically, you only fill out the assets section if you want to qualify on assets, due to low income. Since you had a joint sponsor anyways, you didn't need to fill this out.

Just be patient and wait for the review to be done on your AOS package. The officer could always accept your package since you have a joint sponsor and clearly not trying to qualify on assets.

I agree, and maybe you could send in the requested info (bank statement for the given month which you listed) in case they don't overturn the checklist on review?

Paying from a US checking account doesn't show how much is in the account, thus the need for bank statements.

Got it!

OMG on 26a I put my amount in my checking account. I just went through and filled everything out, just now see that it said optional it's not like it was 15,000 dollars it was 1,500. So stupid so because I put down how much is in my bank account I delayed it. HOW DUMB I'm kicking myself right now!!!!!

Don't beat yourself up over it, we're all human. Posted Image

You included assets, I'm assuming. Did you not send any bank statements?

And you can just re-print the AOS bar-coded cover sheet from the payment portal to use for the checklist. No need to wait for the checklist bar-code.

If you include assets on the I-864 form to qualify, then you need to include bank statements and such.

Ohhhh, but still, if she paid from a US checking account, doesn't that kind of nullify the need for statements? Posted Image

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - April 2013

Just got off the phone with NVC my AoS was looked at today and he said I will be getting an email from them with a checklist because my package was missing something. I'm sitting here thinking there was SO MUCH STUFF I included what could possibly be missing. He told me "proof of my ownership of a checking account" OMG REALLY?! Can I just print my statement offline or does it have to be an official one from my bank? I do all my checking online so I don't have a paper statement.

He said they would email me and that I just printed that out with the proof and mail that in but that it would not be sent to me today. So I have to wait for them to email me or can I print the barcode sheet again and get it mailed to them tomorrow so they have it Monday?

I'm confused, why do you need to send that?!? That wasn't in the list of documents needed for AoS packet!Posted Image

I am trying to follow your situation pertaining to the NADRA documents, what was the issue? i have brand a new NADRA marriage certificate, and a new NADRA birth certificate for my wife, will those be an issue , can you please recap your situation a bit? thank you please :)

The issue was they didn't like the documents being stamped, even though they were originals, but I believe the people at NADRA used the wrong stamps. So now, we had to get new originals, i'll get them end of this week or early next week and then send them along to NVC.

I made a mistake on my DS-230 package, first page is not the bar code cover sheet. I put cover letter on the top and then the cover sheet. It arrived at NVC on march 26 but still not reviewed, could this cause a delay?

Should be fine, they'll see it as long as it was in the package. It's currently taking about 2 weeks to review packets. Call every evening before midnight, this way you get a heads up before any email comes in.

I think they'll accept your documents if they are original, issued from Nadra. In my view somehow they get confused when they see a certificate or document , in a new format, other than usual documents they have been seeing before.
Relax, we are in the same boat, unfortunately! As for the birth certificate, there is one issued from Union Council, hand written. (Usually at the time of the birth) If your wife has that, you can try sending the original copy of that for a safe side. Though I am hoping they'll accept the printed Nadra ones.

I hope you're right, but we're getting brand new documents from NADRA again, not going to waste time waiting on NVC if they review and reject again.

My wife doesn't have the one from Union Council, so we can only use the NADRA ones. USCIS accepted them, not sure what NVC's problem is with these two documents. Posted ImagePosted Image

Keep on them!!! Call again today and if you get the same thing I'd ask to speak to a tier 2 and see if that gets you anywhere. If they want something specific whether native language or english then it needs to say that. If your wife can get the documents in BOTH languages maybe that would make them happy. Try to just breath through it. Remember you are very close now. I know that you are worried for her off time in school break, but remember you can use that as a means to ask for an earlier interview date. Never hurts to try. The fact that you are trying to time it between her semesters at school does show priority over some others I would think.

I will but I think the stamps on the document may have been incorrectly applied, so i'm just playing it safe and my wife is going to get the documents again to the T according to the checklist. Posted Image

have someone re-review that because..that is a load of *insert not so nice word here* :innocent:

Yeah... I doubt they'll accept after the review, something must be legimately wrong with them, i'll just have her get the documents again to the letter, maybe the stamps on them were wrong or something.

That's what I got! My husband sent English Nikkah Papers, which were rejected at first but later got ok. But I had to apply for Birth certificate issued from Nadra now, though sent the translated version of the original. Lets see what happen now. Btw I don't know what do you mean by certified here, but I sent the original translated version of birth certificate attested from the issuing authority still wasn't accepted

We sent them the english + urdu hybrid versions, not sure if they didn't like the stamp on them or what, not sure. It was the printed type, from NADRA, whatever, a month wasted in the end. Posted Image

And that sucks about your documents! I've read about that happening and my thing is, how can they tell this stuff isn't original or certified?
Someone needs to do their job!!

I don't know, i'm just in a state of disbelief, after all the research and work I put into it, and still a checklist. Posted Image

I'll see tomorrow when they send the checklist email exactly what it says.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAny I-130 case here got transfer to Nebraska Service Center

If your case transfered mid september ehy you did not call them cause according to the mail of trasnfered contact them if within 60 days no update on your case.did you contact them?what is your priority date?

If you look at my timeline my PD is July 2nd.  On our transfer notice, there is no mention of the 60 days before you can request an update that I have been reading about.

The 60 days technically doesn't apply to us because we are still within ``current processing times``.  We also tried to complete a service request online and it wasn't accepted because of the current processing time.  For NSC, you can't put in a service request for petitions after Feb 12, 2013 at the moment.

I am not the only USC I-130 petition that has a PD in July that was transferred to Nebraska in Sept and is still pending...

Very frustrated right about now like so many but I keep trying to remain positive.

I received NOA1 today with notification of being transferred to Nebraska. Am curious to see how this plays out. :-)

I'm curious too!  Our I-130 was transferred to Nebraska in mid-September and we're still waiting to see what they plan to do wow.gif

My PD is June 13, 2013. Got transferred to Nebraska on November 21. I got approve today DEC 5, 2013!!

Very happy for you!  I believe you were processed more quickly than most due to the TPS for the Philippines.

I hear you.  I'm very happy for them but I'll be even happier when the rest of us get our turn to celebrate, especially those that filed before July!

Let's stay positive even though I know it's very difficult.  Over 4 1/2 years of long distance and marriage...and still counting...so I can attest to how frustrating this is.

Thank you for your reply. I never got an email like that. I only got a confirmation letter in the mail that a service request was opened after I called them and they gave me a service request number. Even after 40 days of receiving that mail, I didnt get any confirmation letter or email. So i called then again and they told me to email the NSC.  I am waiting for their reply.

Sorry I meant acknowledgement letter in the first line.

So when you called to upgrade the petition had they asked you for your e-mail address?  That's what the person did with my husband.

Also did they tell you to fax in the copy of the citizenship certificate?  I know many people have been told to do this, but my husband didn't get this instruction.

They updated the petition without any documentation.  They will require a copy of it when we get to the NVC stage.

I hope they correct your situation without more delays.

Hi,

Did you get a confirmation stating that the petition was upgraded from F2A to IR-1 ?

I only got an acknowledgement but not a confirmation.

Hi there,

Yes we did get a confirmation via e-mail 5 days after my husband had called them back on Aug 14th.  We also saw that when we received the transfer notice to Nebraska that there was no longer a Priority Date listed on it.  On the NOA1 there was a date because my husband was an LPR at the time.

Here is what was stated in the body of the e-mail:

The status of this service request is:

You contacted us to inform us that, when you filed your Form I-130 relative petition, you were a permanent resident and that you recently became a U.S. citizen. Congratulations on your citizenship. We have updated your relative petition to reflect that you are now a U.S. citizen. As a result, your petition is now in a new visa category as the immediate relative of a U.S. Citizen and is in active processing. We process each kind of case in the order we receive them. You can use our processing times to estimate when we will make a decision on your case. Due to the variety of this kind of case, please check our website at www.uscis.gov for current processing times. You can also register there to get automatic e-mail updates as we process this case.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAny I-130 case here got transfer to Nebraska Service Center

Hi everyone, do you get your PD date when you enter your NOA2 into the timeline or is this a date USCIS gives you?

Most USC petitioners won't see a Priority date on their NOA1 that they receive in the mail.  Instead USC's would use the date listed in the receipt date field in the NOA1 as our ``PD`` date for general reference.  Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

PD's are only applicable for petitioners who are LPR's and they are subject to waiting for visa numbers.  Once their PD is current on the Visa bulletin and their I-130 is approved they are eligible for processing at NVC.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNew USCIS Processing Times are off Their Meds

Oh I'm rocking the boat and I lodged our first service request earlier this evening.  My patience has now completely expired.  If the USCIS wants to set their processing timetable in a foolish manner and I can capitalize on it, then so be it.

I know that I'm very, very fortunate that I'm now with my husband in the US but please don't hate on me for that.  I know that many are going through serious emotional distress being separated...I lived it...so I know many of you deserve to get answers and approvals fast!

But it still does not justify them sitting on our I-130 for 6 months since being transferred!

Our NOA1 issued on July 2, 2013.  Our petition has been transferred and sitting at NSC since Sept 2013...and some people who filed before me are still not approved???   Those transferred to NSC after me and with NOA's after me are getting approved???

Complete, utter, freaking rubbish!!!

Sorry folks, but I'm mad enough for all of us at this moment.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2014

Please let me Vent here and i apologize in advance..

Very frustrated with NVC now.. not sure what incompetent people they have working there or their system simply sucks!

Received a false checklist i guess after a review of my DS-260 documents that they haven't received my I-864. Which i submitted before DS-260 supporting documents but they couldn't open it for whatever goddamn reason and said that it was encrypted or password protected! This is crazy because i have opened those attachments from the same email from 10 different computers and it opens just fine!! any ways i re-submitted the entire package last Saturday.

In addition to the false checklist they are saying i havent submitted a proof of my canadian residency but i submitted copy of my passport! i still have that email! like for God's sake look at the attachments carefully! The girl on the phone said they dont have it so re-send it and allow another 20 freakin days for them to review... this is crazy!

Can somebody here advise what i should do? Re-send the copy of passport or simply ignore it? Or re-send the passport copy as well as canadian citizenship card??

I apologize again from my rant.. but i'm very frustrated right now.
