US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 JULY 2008 Filers	The ceremony took place in the courtroom. My husband and mom were sitting in one part of it together with the other families and relatives and people taking the oath were sitting in a separate part of the room. They did a good job incorporating families in the ceremony. My husband was even allowed to take a picture with me and the judge. Edited by Lyuba, 16 January 2009 - 10:16 AM. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 JULY 2008 Filers	Hey guys, Thank you so much!!!! I am a US citizen now. Nice feeling. The ceremony went well. Both my husband and my mom who is visiting from Russia attended. The funny thing that at the ceremony my documents were processed by the same guy who conducted my interview. This difficult dude who wanted to see my hubby. Well, he recognized us both immediately. He even nodded approvingly when he saw that my hubby showed up with a big bunch of flowers for me. So glad to be done! I already registered to vote, I will run to SS office today and apply for the passport on Saturday. Now on to getting ready for my son's first birthday party next week. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 JULY 2008 Filers	They usually say that if they want to go over the file one more time or they have some kind fo question and they want to talk to the supervisor or think about it. The officer gave me such a notice too because he wanted to see my husband. My husband came half-an-hour later and after talking to him for a couple of minutes he corrected the notice to "approved". You don't really know what is going inside those people's mind. For example dring my interview the officer left to talk to another officer for a second and then this other officer got into my room, said hi to me and commented on how beautiful my coat was. Why was it necessary? Sure not for my coat. I don't think we understand all those procedures they have but I am sure they are following their internal rules. Everything they do is for a reason. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 JULY 2008 Filers	Success!!! I passed my interview today. The wait was only 5 minutes. The guy was difficult. He asked me where my husband was before even asking any questions. I said he was at work. He proceeded with the interview, asked me all kind of questions, signed all kind of forms. Didn't care to see any paperwork or anything except for the green card. In the end he said he needed to see my husband before he could make any decision. He said that I might tell him that I still live with my husband but actually he is in Florida and our marriage is a scam. So I got out of his office, dialed my husband's number and told him to get his butt to the immigration office as soon as possible which he did. The officer talked to him for a few minutes (just small talk, not even about our marriage) and approved me for citizenship. I guess he was happy to see that my husband indeed exists. Anyway I should get an oath letter in a month or two (hopefully quicker). The officer told my husband that they are doing it on a routine basis to avoid marriage scam.
