As you guys know I am very congested and stuffed up....I about KILLED Mikel last night. I was in bed last night trying to relax and not hack away, I was really concentrating hard on this, I was on my back with my eyes closed and then all of a sudden without warming Mikel spays this nasal mist into my nose. First I almost had a heart attack second I didn't know what hit me and then he was coming at me with round two for the next nostril. I am telling you don't get sick around this man. If you all remember, last time he attacked me with rubbing alcohol.

If anyone did that to me, I would insert that nasal spray somewhere on him as well!

Where's a good place for someone to honeymoon?

You can say Jamaica; but suggest nice places to stay that aren't an arm and a leg.

They are in their late 20's and getting married in September of this year.

I plan on doing a cookout for Steve since his birthday is the day after the 4th of July. He already told me he doesn't want a cake for his birthday... Okay yeah right in one ear and out the other since the kids in my family would have a bloody fit if there were no cake. As one of his presents Ive been gathering things to scrapbook for him so he can take a look at his journey to the US and what he has done since leaving JA, that way when we go visit home, he can share it with his family too.

Valentine's Day was his first movie EVER! So that was nice...

I want to share something with yall that he said but if he ever finds out I told yall Im in deep do do  He said I was his FIRST girlfriend EVER that the rest of the females was just bangin buddies, he never told anyone because he didn't want anyone to think otherwise of him... I just found this to be so sweet! (L)

They looked at me funny when I landed in JA, I gave them a look like don't even think about asking me nada.. Then appeared Steve and his friend! :)

Awwwww....I think I am rubbing off on all of you. Love your scrapbook idea.

I thought that too. Unfortunately, it's not always as easy as that. I won in small claims and then couldn't collect the money from the gal. She quit her job, moved, got a new phone, and declared bankruptcy. It sucked.

Happy Birthday to March Yardies!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies a home and a farrin (Part 23)

Well still trying to catch up but wanted to thank everyone for their positive encouragement and Prayers ( Lawny I love you! :innocent: ) where my boys are concerned. Last night I nearly dropped when my oldest son told me he would sign the behavior contract I implemented for them and that he was ready to become a part of the family again. Praise GOD, it has only been almost a year and I had no idea where the light a the end of the tunnel was I had faith that the Creator would pull me through. I was so happy at that moment and although Motherhood always presents its challenges with a stronger family unit we can work through anything in the future.

This past year has been an emotional roller coaster from happiness with my husband arriving, disappointments with two miscarriages and turmoil with the never ending drama with both boys. I thank my VJ family from everyone still on the board to Yardies that now live on FB for always having positive words for me and keeping me strong with their own stories of adjustment and letting me know I am not alone! Each and every one of you Ladies have touched my life in a special way I want to say thank you ( perhaps with some FEVAH Haaa a joke mi a mek hush Dillon LOL :jest: ) for having my back and letting this board be an outlet for all of us going through the process.

I know yall were like where are the updates but let me tell you all that drama was so emotionally draining even to type it and some of you have seen the saga so you know it was a hot mess LOL ( although I need to chronicle it cause some people would not believe what we endured in such a short time) from the stealing from my Husband, :dead: pulling a knife on him, the late night fights with Baby Daddy, all the fighting verbal and physical , the Nino Brown from New Jack city episode in my living room, to my oldest the running out of the restaurant in the snow storm cause he just couldn’t accept my Husband and rather live by himself  …… I could go on and on. I just hope it’s over and we are only moving forwards not backwards. A good indication was last night he talked to me extensively about several reports he did on Haiti this weekend and he needed some pics of me and the family in Haiti to for his presentation. This would have never happened months or even a week ago so that is progress. It can only get better from here!

Ok part 2 of my weekend soon come

(F) That is truly a testament...Continued blessings!

Postive support systems can be familial support, friends, or church members. Readiness for tx usually refers to a client's receptiveness;how willing are they to accept help, tx, or support and their willingness to want to change their situation and ultimately their circumstances. Some people have all the access to resources, but are not willing to do what it takes to utilize them. They stay with what is familiar to them, no matter how detrimental. Hope this helps.

AMEN to that! I also teach BSW's at the University and I tell my students social work 101 is: Everybody has the right to be stupid. If you learn this you will be just fine as a social worker though the physicians will disagree with you.

I know... I try to be positive by saying things could've been worse such as us not getting approved.

Speaking of school work, who's a psychology or social work major because I have a psychosocial assessment to do and I'm not feeling it. A darn shame because these two classes are my last before I go on to finish my bachelor's.

I hope you already had your answer but otherwise, let me know. I have an MSW and do assessments daily for psych patients on my unit.

LMAO - Training as it relates to employees - Not as it relates to weight loss!

Personally, I think training as it relates to employees is a great investment.....if you are the employee. I've taken knowledge from one job to another and it's been helpful.

Training as far as health......well, it depends on if you stick to it or now. Muscle doesn't stay muscle without constant work. Same goes for weight management. You can be just as healthy doing a lot of other things. As long as you continue. But, whatever works for someone, works for them. I am definately NOT a jogger. But, it works for many of my friends.

IDK, Dillon.....car color kind of looks like that vest M. is wearing in your picture to me!

LMAO - I knew we were sistahs from another mother - I had a VW Bug that caught fire while I was driving!

I had a yellow firebird that I loved till some damn fool stole it. When we got it back, it looked like a midget car. Who knew they could strip a car down that far? So, I used the insurance money to fully pay for a brand new Geo Metro. People told me it wouldn't start in the cold. They told me it was a deathtrap. They told me all kinds of things I couldn't do with the car. That car ran like a dream in snow and all, started every time. I stuffed it to the gills with kids and ####### and stuff from Sam's. Only issue I ever had was it was recalled cause of reports the hood was flying open on the highway  . I almost hated to trade it in for my current Jeep Cherokee. I've had this car for the last 8 years.

I want a new car. But, I'm not looking forward to a new car payment.

Then my sister totalled six weeks after I got it

So my Grandma gave me this:

Although it was not in that good of shape - it had holes in the floor

JG are you actually telling me you like that shade of green?

Ells I would have thought I was stylin in your car. My car was a 1975 Ford Maverick and I would have done anything to have a car that was made in the 80's.

Yep. I do like that color. I LOVE green.

I'm about to do anything to have one made in the 2000's!!!!!

Just wondering if anyone else gets frustrated like I do. I also know it's a real shift for him going from 'country living' to a completely different living space but after 7 months, I wonder why things aren't 'clicking' more.

Ells, I warned you......it takes a LONG time to adjust. I would say years and years. Don't be so hard on yourself for wondering though. That's normal.

It's not really that pretty of a picture, Dada, to think of some of them running around in their boxes......(OMG I think I may be blind now thinking about that)......and um, what kind of firehouse has all the guys running around in their underwear?????? Oh, that's just not right. Chi chi.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies a home and a farrin (Part 22)

Pulling up their uniforms? So does that mean they were in boxers??? Please I beg of you to give me details!!!

Well, in St. Louis, they wear uniforms.....blue pants, uniform shirts, ball caps sometimes, sweat shirts if cold, and boots. When the audible goes off in the firehouse (alarm), they go to the truck where 2 of the guys toss off their boots and step into their fireproof boots and suspender uniform pants sitting by the truck doors, then they jump in and put on the coat. The driver and the captain usually just put on the coat. Not sure how they do it elsewhere.

Okay ladies I was just yapping with Island regarding my first car...such horrible memories...here is a picture and yes it was this color. What were your first cars?

Posted Image

I beg to differ. I actually haven't found a shade of my favorite color, green, that I don't like.

My first car was an even deeper green 'vette. Um, Chevette it was. I bought it for $300 and sold it for $300 to my brother. There was no heat in the damn thing. Brother took out back seat and put in these monster speakers that took up whole seat area. It was hilarious to watch it thumping down the street.

I moved up to a Ford Escort

Yardies, here's my question of the day (mostly directed at the ladies)....

Do your guys help you out at home? Do they take the iniative themselves or do you have to ask? What do you do if they did do something but it wasn't quite right & you need to do it again?

Yes. He actually takes time off work to surprise me when I get home. My situation is A LOT different then yours though. And, yeah, sometimes I have to say it a few times; but again, different situations.

If it's not right, I let it go. As long as the house isn't going to burn down or something equally as catastrophic, as long as it's done, it's done. I'll do it right the next time.

JG I thought of you this morning I was driving by the the fire station I pass everyday while taking my son to school, and the guys were getting ready for a call and they jumped into their boots and pulled up the uniform. CLUTCH THE PEARLS if that wasn't the sexiest move ever!

My son was like you are staring too hard LOL and I was waving at them too :jest:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.....I know that one.

You will love this, Philly. Finesse too.......he's got his kids 3 nights in a row this week, starting last night. I'm missing him in my bed every night (except when he's working firehouse). I took and sent day 1 picture. Which was pretty tame. Told him he's in trouble day 2 and 3 and to make sure the kids don't have his phone when I'm texting. I expect Thursday will be a good night :innocent:

Awwwww that's sweet!

Funny story from the weekend - We took my friend's Grammy out to lunch (she's 93) - she wanted seafood and some live music, so we went to this spot that had a jazz band - During the break, the band members came over to sit with us - The 84 year old drummer asked us if Grammy was a Cougar - After we picked ourselves up off the floor from laughing, we then had to explain to her what a cougar was!

Ha ha.....My uncles 95 year old mother was getting married and my aunt and uncle were in town staying at my 85 year old Great-Aunt's house. As they left for the wedding, my GA said to my Aunt, see if he has a single brother. I got the giggles at that story. See where I get my ####### from?

That failbooking site is hilarious. I'll have to check it out more this evening, as I'm about to spend 3-4 hrs judging a middle school science fair. It's in a wealthy section, so I'm curious to see how the school & projects look, compared to some of the other schools where I judged.
