Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionA bit deflated
Junk mail
Cards & letters
Anything he bought and sent away for
Magazine subscriptions
Does he have a job? Paycheck stubs for both of you with your address on it. Also, any associated mail from the job like health insurance information, retirement information, welcome to the company, signed contract, whatever.
Phone bills.....surely he called back to the country he came from.
Did you send any money via Western Union back? Recipts are good.
You can download an advanced directive and then both fill out to make the other the decision maker for the other.
Any evidence of any sort of trips together....airline tickets, hotel receipts, anything.
Speeding or parking tickets
Copies of credit cards and/or statements in both your names

At this point, I would work on stuff that shows you both have the same address....even if it is just one of your names on the item. Get as much of that as you can.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionrescheduling biometrics
What does the NOA say? Is it a mass thing like AOS was where if you missed the appointment, you could come any Wednesday after that date until the notice expired 2 months later? Or was this a one day specific appointment?

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiondon't have money to file and running out of time
Beg, borrow, or steal. Kidding about the stealing part. I don't recommend that at all.

Sounds like you are having some problems right now. Those will only compound if you don't take care of this. No way around it.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMy bio. experience
Biometrics seem to be pretty much the same each time. Least stressful part of the whole ordeal.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI've been out of the fee loop..what is I-751 fee?
I was kind of relieved when I saw the fee. At least it is for something that will last 10 years. In the whole scheme of all these fees, it's at least more reasonable then 3 months or 2 years.

That being said, still not looking forward to paying it later this year.

I want to file for the naturalization so that is the last immigration fee we pay ever!

I see the light at the end of the tunnel finally!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionReady to file!
The only thing I would suggest is if you still have the card the original GC came on, you should send that along as well. It actually says on there to do that.

If not, I would not worry about it.

Otherwise, looks great. Good luck to you.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAOS interview 1.5 month before second wedding anniversary...
Good luck, whatever you do.

I agree.....AOS.....and then removal of conditions just 2 years later is really cruel and unusual punishment. So costly for bascially nothing. They could do it all so much easier.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNo Biometrics Yet !!!

You need to hang in there. You KNOW patience is a mandate in this process. It's been just 11 days.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat a waste of money for the I-751
QUOTE (Jenn! @ Apr 16 2008, 09:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Where did the OP complain about the wait?

I agree. The conditional card should be valid for three years instead of two.

Well, since this person mentioned the I-751 still in process while the N-400 can soon be filed, is an unspoken complaint of the wait.

I think there shouldnt' be a conditional card at all. It does seem to be way too many steps to get to the end of it all.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionUS permanent resident travel on vacation to Mexico or Jamiaca
QUOTE (whodat @ Apr 25 2008, 12:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey Jomo's girl,

My wife and I would like to go to Jamaica on the 24th. of May. She has expired GC with extension letter and Mexico Passport. Do you see any problems with that? Montego Bay Baby.

As long as the extension letter is not expired, none whatsoever. Book the ticket in whatever name is in her passport. Take passport, green card, extension letter, certified marriage certificate, and whatever state ID she may have. I would bring it all.

Where are you going in Mo Bay? My husband is from Mo Bay. Spent a whole lot of time there.

So, you suggest since the tickets have not been purchased, you would book in the same name as the passport?

Interesting, Cassie. Cause everything I have read and heard says the name on the passport must match the name on the ticket.

I just told you via PM.....not marriage license.....you need the certified copy of marriage certificate. Go to your local city hall if you don't have that.

Get that and you will be fine.

Book ticket in the name in your passport.

Hey ZQT...........I just realized you are in St. Louis. Me too. Watch it's something crazy like we are sitting right down the street from each other, talking online!

Mexico: Need a passport if going by air. If crossing the border by land, a photo driver's license and proof of US birth like a birth certificate, but that is suppose to change this summer.

I thought they moved it to 2009 now.

And, they are not US born in this case. She said permanent resident. Thus, she would need her passport and her green card.

Just need a valid passport and your green card to travel to Jamaica.

Don't know about Mexico, personally, but I think it is the same.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 sent and divorcing
I agree. If they don't ask for an interview, I don't see anything wrong with the no harm, no foul thing. If he was willing to file as married, cause they were married at the time, it's not an issue. If they were to call for an interview, that's a problem to deal with later.

Even if you divorce, it may take the entire processing time to go through anyhow.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCalifornia Center RULES!!!
Can you post your timeline so I can figure out how lon it took you to remove your conditions?

I have a friend who just filed through them. I'd like to give her some hope, timewise.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionnobody knows this??? please!
7 months of marriage? 7 months as a green card holder? 7 months as a citizen?

I am almost thinking it is way too soon and is going to look fishy to USCIS no matter what. But, give more details and we'll see what we can come up with.
*JG*FemaleJamaica2008-04-29 13:27:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionconditions lifted
AOS is one of the easier, quicker things you will file.

It was AOS right? You have conditions lifted in the title; but looks like AOS in your timeline.

Congrats.

Do you have the paper card the 2 year green card came on? It says on there to mail it in when lifting conditions.

If you can't find it, don't fret.

Good luck to you. We mail Andre's off in August!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAm I getting too happy?
No. not too happy. I have a friend who is in the middle of it too. They cashed her check quickly and they just did his biometrics last week.

Doesn't necessarily mean things are going to go extrememly quickly. Just nice to know they are working on it. I HOPE it means things will go quickly and smoothly.

Good luck to you.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion90 Day Window
You can apply to lift conditions beginning 90 days before expiration of the conditional 2 year green card, up until the card expires. You do not want to wait till it expires.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWould it be okay to go to Vacation while waiting for the new green card?
As long as you have the extension letter....still valid.....and a valid passport, I am sure they have seen it all the time.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion concerning I-751
My friend just filed LOC and got their bio within a month of sending it off.

I would not travel until the biometrics unless it is going to be a very short trip of a week or less. Missing or postponing the bio only adds time to the LOC.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionOur joint tax return as the evidence of our relationship
I agree.....send in those tax returns no matter what they say. They can't judge on what's on them, just IF you filed jointly.

Also, Andre was issued his 2 year green card in November '06 and we are set to mail in our LOC in August of this year.....We are right there with you. We will compare notes when the time comes.

I've been collecting our evidence all along. So, if you have any questions or want to compare notes, PM me.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNOA's what to do with them
The NOA can be used for everything.....work, travel, renewing a DL, etc till it expires in roughly one year....IF it expires, you then need to go get that stamp till approval.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionConditional Residency and Divorce
Yeah, I agree.....never heard of any kind of interview unless someone filed for removal of conditions. I'd ask to see that letter too.

You can file to remove conditions all on your own. A divorce does not equal an automatic deportation.

Sounds to me like someone is playing some games with your head.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionReceived two I-797C appointment notices for the same day
It was a computer glitch 2 years ago when we were going through AOS. There's got to be a better word for something that goes on this long.

I would suggest exactly what he said. We did the same.
*JG*FemaleJamaica2008-05-28 11:32:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTwo Biometric Appointments?
We got two as well.....That was two years ago....glad to see they still haven't fixed the problem.

Go to the first appointment and take the letter from the 2nd with you just to show them they are still doing it. You only need to attend one.
