IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAre there any Nov. 2013 Priority dates still waiting?

Hello All,

I know I am just getting anxious but are there any people who received their NOA1 in November and are still waiting for an approval?

My status reads "On May 13, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN"

Any ideas?

Haha...yeah, probably true. However they adjudicate all of the "MESS" that a lot of people send in and more than likely non of us will have interviews so all in all it is not a big deal. I think ROC is the easiest part of immigration, assuming no hiccups in processing. I feel like there is really nothing to do but just keep on with everyday life and check in once in awhile on status. :innocent:

Well, it has been awhile away from VJ, but back in the saddle! Package sent on 10/15 and check cashed 10/18. I think this phase will be much more about waiting and less about the drama of immigration forms and evidence. Good luck everyone!

PhilippinesPlanning to bring foods in U.S
I have often travelled with food from Thailand and have never had problems. When I moved to St. Louis for a year I had a carton that was full of edibles like instant noodles (Mama!), sauces, Thai candy, etc. Never had problems with custom, never had anything removed when bags were checked. (Of course I would have carried much less if I knew how much was easily available in St. Louis. I'll do better this time around.)

AFFIDAVIT OF: XXXXX

BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, personally appeared XXXXXXX who, after being first duly sworn and cautioned upon her oath, deposes and states:

1. My name is XXXXX. I live at XXXXX, USA. I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA on November 11, 1963. I have personal knowledge of the facts set forth herein.

2. I have known XXXXX since April 1986. We met while working together at Dragonette, Inc.

3. My husband, XXXXX, and I regularly socialize with Mindy and Vincent. We enjoy meeting them for lunch or dinner in Chicago’s western suburbs. It is always a treat to watch Vincent try new foods and learn about other cultures via some of the ethnic restaurants we’ve visited. I admire Mindy for her efforts to acclimate Vincent to his new life in the United States. She explains foods and customs that are unfamiliar to him, and reminds him to slow down when he speaks. Vincent’s enthusiasm for his life with Mindy is delightful, but the more excited he gets, the faster he speaks.

4. Vincent enjoys talking about his job experiences. It is obvious when talking to him that he is a proud man and a hard worker. He takes his work seriously and wants to continue to make a good life for himself and his wife.

5. Mindy told me about her relationship with Vincent four years ago. I’ve know her for a long time and it was apparent that Vincent was very special to her. In 22 years, I’ve socialized with Mindy a lot, but our best time together was at her engagement party. I was thrilled that my good friend had found the love of her life in Vincent. He was just as excited about their pending marriage as she was. The complement each other and together make a great team.

Yeah, that office is fairly simple. We were never in there longer then 10 minutes.

Thanks polar1979. I figured it was probably alright, but I just wanted to make sure. :-)

OBX, thanks for the congrats!
So far, I think this has been the easiest part of that whole process.

I'm approved! Got the letter in the mail today. Date of decision: 05/03/2011.

Quick question, at the top, where there is my name and address, they put only an initial and my last name (initial could be first name initial or middle name initial, it's the same letter). Was this the way it was for you all? I just wonder if that's normal or if it's a mistake and that my GC will have this instead of my full name...

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionseeking advice/feedback I-751 evidence list
Has she met your parents/family? The will be looking for pics of family association on her side and yours. This is not always absolute. As far as pics go, if your interview is a week from now or later you have time to get some pics together and around folks. If you take only a few pics that do not demonstrate that you are actively living a "life" together, it could bring you under more scrutiny. I know this is kind of playing to the interviewer, but you should use a little tripod or the "hold your arm way out" method and get some more pics together. We don't take a lot of pics together either, but made it a point to do so for the interview. Actually, I can say that we haven't taken many pics together since that time! haha Good luck, bro!

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiondo we have to have photos for i751
As far as the picture issue goes, maybe just make a point of taking some together in the next week and try to include other family members. I know it is common to not take as many pics together, especially if it is just the two of you most of the time, but it won't hurt to bulk up a little.

As far as your other evidence, you might want to also include joint utility bills, credit card statements. Just something more dynamic showing ongoing relationship. Adding someone to a lease or policy is good too, just less dynamic. This seems to be the least risky and troublesome portion of the journey. I will be happy when we are doing this next year! Good luck, bro!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPlease help! Very worried
If you have had your biometrics, then your application has been accepted. It is possible to get an RFE, which is quick to fix, just have the taxes ready in an envelope to mail back if an RFE arrives. Otherwise, make sure that you take EVERYTHING with you to the interview (copies/originals from the submission) and including your taxes.

I didn't prepare the package myself, the lawyer's office did, but I remember providing them with bank statements up to september 2012, the USCIS is saying that the evidence provided doesn't show that me and my husband share responsibility for most of the assets and liabilities of the marriage and that we have not sent sufficient examples of shared assets and liabilities spanning the period of the marriage to share that we have continuously shared a life together.

It sounds like your lawyer is less organized and prepared to do his job than the rest of the typical VJ community.  Sorry for the RFE but you should be able to take care of this.  Best of luck!

You have at least 2 more months waiting... :(

FYI, approval rates here in ROC forum monthly threads as of yesterday are...

CSC: May 86%, June 82%, July 45%, Aug 5%

VSC: May 59%, June 61%, July 19%, Aug 0%

Well, we had at least two more months. Now we will have to see if there will be an impact on processing times due to the sequester. Hope not!!! ^___^

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSample Affidavit Questions
Hey all,

Three simple questions.

1) The VJ sample Affidavit has at the top of the first page underneath the words "UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY"

this thing:

#A _________________________

Am I correct in assuming that this is a typo, meant to be

A # ________________________

where the immigrant spouse's alien number goes?

2) Does the notary public have a special form that the person who is going to sign the affidavit (our friends) needs to fill out? Can they just fill this form as it appears in the sample affidavit (same format that is), removing of course the words [NOTARIAL SEAL] for where the seal is supposed to go? I am asking because a friend of mine has no computer and she wants to just write it out herself using black ink. If the notary public has a special form, she could just adjust what she wrote to fit in that form, then swear and sign it. Is such a thing possible?

3) Does an affidavit have to be one page long or can it be more than one pages long?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion1040 tax return for i-751

You can call them and have them fax it over to you while you're on the phone with them.

Thanks for the input :) I guess I will probably do so in the end. Unfortunately we don't have a fax machine or indeed a phone line for that matter :(. We have separate broadband installed in the building. We use our cellphones instead for everything, even as a doorbell...

But apart from this, it would be nice to know how one is meant to complete this form. I believe it could come in handy in future.

Does this mean I am the only one who has attempted to complete a 4506-T? LOL! I guess I feel ... "special" :>

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion1040 tax return for i-751

You will most likely be RFEd for them.

It's either IRS tax transcripts OR 1040/W2/1099.

I am still a little uncertain on this as well. I just posed a separate question on the topic and although I have received partial answers I am still unclear on some points.

To obtain IRS transcripts we need to complete Form 4506-T (request for Transcript of Tax Return).

What do we need to input in part 6 (Transcript Requested)? Obviously "1040" for most of us, but I mean: do we tick 6a (Return Transcript) or 6b (Account Transcript)? (We did our joint tax returns on time each year and both times we got a refund from the IRS, no penalty/adjudication scenarios etc). What does USCIS need?

And furthermore do we also need to tick Part 8 (Form W-2, Form 1099 Series, or Form 5498 series transcript)? My understanding is that is needed only if one loses their own W-2s etc. and need the info there.

That is fine. You should definitely wait until/if they RFE you.
