PhilippinesWould it affect my fiancee's K1 VISA with a denied tourist VISA
QUOTE (Old Dominion @ Aug 13 2008, 05:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
QUOTE (ArtGirl @ Aug 10 2008, 10:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiancee scheduled for an interview this Friday Aug 15, 2008 in Manila USE. Would it affect her K1 VISA because of her denied touring VISA? Would they ask alot of questions about her denied touris VISA last year? Waht she should say to the CO? Right now she is very worried the CO may ask a lot questions and possible dennying her K1 VISA. Because it was my uncle sponsoring her, my uncle he is married to her Aunt(long distance Aunt/Relatives...not by blood).

Any advice and inputs are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks...

Not to worry. Happens all the time and has no effect on the K-1 visa

Yes. All the time. She should be just fine.

Good luck.

I think it's o.k. and necessary to have privacy, and I would never ask my husband to give me his passwords, but I definitely also think it is NOT o.k. to correspond with another woman in that fashion. I am sorry you are in this situation.

Yeah, I agree. He needs to block her and cut off contact.

PhilippinesAt&t Cell Phones connection
I had issues with that calling Jamaica. I went through 3U telecom.....where I dialed in their number and when prompted, the JA number I was calling. Not only did I save lots of money, I got an immediate connection.

AT&T used to blow it off and blame the JA connection too. It's something with them.

PhilippinesWhat's the most memorable event in your sporting life?
QUOTE (Beth wa Salim @ Nov 22 2009, 09:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
2 great moments in sporting history:

The most exciting experience I have PERSONALLY had was when I went skydiving at 'Skydive Chicago' on 8/1/98. It was a perfect day, felt the rush of the freefall, and then glided under the canopy for about 4 or 5 minutes. I could see the fields below me gently rippling, and it was soooo peaceful! I still have the videotape and photographs from the experience.

Better yet was the Boston Red Sox winning the 2004 World Series, after 86 L-O-N-G years without a championship!!! For any long-suffering Red Sox fan, it was the moment of a lifetime. I laughed, I cried, and I was so glad that my grandmother had lived to see it! She was born in 1918, the last year they had won a World Series, and she wanted so badly to see them win another one in her lifetime. She saw it, although we lost her a little over a year later. But it was a wonderful moment in history for all of "Red Sox Nation"!!! (And then they proved they weren't a 'one-trick pony' team by winning it again in '06! happy.gif )

Your Boston story is one of mine.....but not in a good way. Still can't get over that loss! crying.gif

PhilippinesIm in shock and I dont know what to do
I think people do crazy things when they feel they are backed in a corner and need to survive. I can't see faulting someone for doing what they need to do.

That being said, I am squeemish over prostitution. It's just such a dangerous world out there. I would definately have myself tested. And, yes, I think it is a reason they can deny a visa.

I applaud your fiance for having the guts to tell you. Yes, she wasn't forthcoming in the beginning; but she didn't wait till after the green card either. She had to work up her nerve to tell you. The trust should still be there for you. She was very brave and really never had to tell you. She's giving you an out if you want to take it. So, if you do, then take it. But, no one is perfect. And we all have skeletons in our closets.

PhilippinesHonesty
QUOTE (Cyn~n~Ken @ Dec 8 2009, 03:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Has my fiancee`s honesty killed her chances of getting her visa? During her medical exam she admitted to using drugs 1 time 7 years ago. I`m devastated thinking that now because of her honesty she might not get to come here.

If she was from Jamaica, that would be a death blow. From what people are saying here, it looks like there is a still a good chance.

I wish you the very best of luck rose.gif

PhilippinesInterracial Marriage Challenges
QUOTE (Jabberwocky @ Jul 29 2008, 01:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The cultural and familial differences are something most couples international couples have to deal with. Just some examples for us - my wife thinks it's rude to answer with 'yeah' while I find it more friendly and less harsh sounding than 'yes.'

But just in the year and a half that both my wife and stepson have lived here in the states, they have already grown accustomed to many of the nuances and differences.

Ordering food at a restaurant or communication is still something that my wife has a little trouble....mainly just in her choice of words that often confuse the server just what it is she wants. Then she gets angry when they didn't prepare her order the way she asked. She doesn't complain to them though...just me. jest.gif I think she's aware that she needs to learn American slang and the ways we talk.

I think it's really beneficial also to embrace your spouses culture reciprocally - enjoy their foods and their customs. smile.gif

I guess I just don't see that as cultural. My husband cooks almost 100% of the time. We eat things he's eaten all his life. It's the same food I've always eaten just prepared a little different.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGot our second interview date today

They claim not enough proof of an ongoing relationship. But we had the proof, it was just that we were doing the whole think by ourselves with no guidance, just following the paperwork and website. Thought whatever information we sent to USCIS and NVC was enough. So he basically showed up empty handed at the interview. They sent him to get more proof and I fedex them to him..but I have no idea what he took since he said they told him they did not need to see the documents he had brought and gave him a white form with explanation of denial.

Just a thought. Tell him to make sure to give the evidence to whomever collects the letter so that the CO will have it with them before he gets to the window. Sometimes, by the time you get the window they will already have their determination and the letter waiting for denial, etc. and are not willing to look at what you have with you.luv.gif  Best Wishes.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 APPROVED IN 19 DAYS

The NOA1 isn't an approval. OP, did you get your NOA2 in 19 days, or your NOA1?

The OP's timeline says NOA1 was 10/24 and NOA2 was 11/12 so I think he is referring to the latter.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWHAT IS THE NEXT STEP AFTER APPROVAL?

For Ghana

Once you get your NOA2 wait a week call NVC (1-603-334-0700. Press 1 for English
Press 5 for an operator)
for your embassy number which starts with ACC. Once you have that wait a week or so and email the Ghana embassy (IVDVACCRA@state.gov) for your pickup date. Include Petitioner and Beneficiary birthdays, names, ACC number. They will eventually email you back with a date to pick up packet 3 (which is also packet 4-- with interview date). They schedule the interview not you. They also mail the interview letter but it takes about two months to arrive at the beneficiary?s address.

Tips for Interview ? Please give your information to CO before you get to the final interview window because the CO at window will not ask for it and is possible to have made a decision before you get to window.

Good Luck!!

Its not every case its every adjudicator is different.  This is why you see on VJ the word "Front-load" your evidence. Because many of us at high fraud embassies  never get to show evidence at interview. Out love ones coming loaded down with pics and emails and all the tonage because many are lead to believe they will get the opportunity to show evidence at interview and many times that isn't the case.

I can only imagine what it feels like but please hang in there.

Some things you can do are -- send him a postcard or greeting card weekly, start discussing furniture or wall colors or decorations for your new home, send him pictures of said items so that you can "argue" about whose taste is better, etc., discuss future vacations and places you would be visiting in a year after you are together, try focusing on things that will happen AFTER you are together in the same place.

God's Speed and please stay blessed.
