We will get our NOA2 soon Sal & Jay.... let's just continue to hang on and keep the faith that it will be pretty soon.

I think I will be checking some short courses on reflexology or baking or sewing this week.. just to keep myself more occupied and not have so much time checking USCIS status. I already had a short course on swedish & shiatsu massage last year.(took it specially for my honey wink.gif ) So I might just add something more to my repertoire while waiting.

Yes I'm sure you will both have it soon !
Taking courses is a good idea to stay busy. To stay busy (and in good shape wink.gif ) I have started doing some exercise (pilates and fitness). I only started this weekend so I'm not sure I'm going to continue for very long, but I'll try. that will keep me a little more occupied...

So we met with the priest on Thursday! If everything progresses how I think it will, we are going to get married Memorial Day weekend!!

SO MUCH TO DO! The embassy in Germany seems to be really quick. Packet 3 gets sent like 2 weeks after NOA2 and then an interview date is given about 1 month after you send packet 3 back...

Memorial Day? at the end of May? Wow that sounds very close!

How old are the children in your class, greeneyedgirlfl ?

I don't know what it's like in highschools and elementary schools, but I remember that when I went to study in the USA, the students at the university seemed a lot more involved than at my university in France. Here, half of the students don't care much about their classes and don't pay attention to the professor. Whereas in the USA, the students asked many questions to their professors, they also seemed to work more (at least during the classes). Maybe that's because universities are so expensive in the US, so people don't want to waste their money.
Though from what you're saying it seems that for 'younger' schools (highschool, ...) that's the opposite tongue.gif

Dress shopping can be so much fun...or so much aggravation! Many of the stores here stock only sizes 2 and 4...then they measure you and order the dress, and it takes maybe....8-10 weeks for it to come in. If you go to a commerical shop, like David's Bridal, they stock every size and you can try it on. Usually from there alterations, etc are needed.

I got really lucky and my dress fits like a glove, not even 1 single alteration is needed!

I had the opposite problem when I went dress shopping: there were all way too big for me. I seemed like the taylor would have had to cut one third of it tongue.gif

dbears is right, this is a lovely dress!!
I was wondering... here in France, once you buy a dress, it takes several months to be made and to be altered. usually you get it 6 months after you choose it. Is it the same in your country?

Congrats to the new approvals, and for everybody who is seeing their SO soon, have a good trip and enjoy it!

Wow! Congratulations on your engagement ring. And glad to hear it actually made it to you. But i have a question....5-10 days?? blink.gif #######? Are you telling me that he sent an engagement ring through the regular post? Helluva risk, dontcha think? FedEx or DHL would have gotten it to you in a day or 2. Even then I'd be afraid. never heard of someone mailing such a gift. Whew, but luckily you got it. good.gif

I know, now that I think of it, it's a little silly. He told me he would insure it, and mail with all the tracking options they would have. I guess we just didn't think of sending it with FedEx or DHL (well, at first, I told him I didn't want him to send me an engagement ring, and that I would prefer him to send me something cheap (like a $20 ring, or something even cheaper). Now that you say it, that's so weird none of us didn't think of FedEx or DHL! But it made it here, that's what matters smile.gif

Hey everybody! It doesn't have a lot to do with the K1 visa, but I need to share!!

My fiance sent me my Valentine's gift the 5th of February. They said it would take 5 to 10 days to go to France. Everyday I checked my mailbox and it wasn't there. Monday morning I went to the post office to ask them if by chance they got it and didn't tell me, but no, they didn't have it. I was sure that it was lost. or someone had stolen it. The gift inside is pretty expensive...
I came back home for lunch today, and there was a notice from the mailman that said that the package made it here and that it would be waiting for me at the post office tomorrow!!
So, tomorrow, I'll go there and finally get my Valentine's present, which is......... my engagement ring smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif In less than 24 hours it will be around my finger smile.gif

I'm so happy !!

I was talking for CSC filers only.
Yes, some VSC filers might receive their NOA2 in a month, but I doubt that will be the case for CSC. Hopefully though they will start going fast again (like they did 2 weeks ago) and we won't have to wait 6 months either.

I'm waiting too.
I took a break after the first set of paperwork. Last week, I started looking at the documents we'll have to file next (DS-156, I-134, ..) but without doing anything. I just looked at them to see if there were things I didn't understand. Then I'll think of all the evidences/documents I will need at the interview. And then, a little later, I'll tell my US fiance everything he has to file, to get notarized and to gather. But that's going to wait several weeks/months. It's not as if our petition was going to be approved next month tongue.gif

On another note...do you think some (certainly not all or most) of the more established members on the site belittle our uneasiness and confusion? I sometimes don't post because I don't want to be "zinged"

I simply had a question about being or not being touched and I got this response: "Yes, you should be worried that you do not have enough patience to survive this process."

As it is understandable that we, newbies, have many questions, it is also understandable that they are tired of answering the same things again and again. They have probably answered the questions we ask 10 or 20 times. Of course, that doesn't give anyone the right to belittle (yeah I just learned a new word!) anybody. if they are tired of answering the same questions, then they should just skip such topics. tongue.gif

But usually you can get most answers by using the search options. I know I've found lots of information using it.

We haven't got touched yet either. Which does not really matter (and at least we're not checking our case on uscis website everyday tongue.gif)

For a while I thought of going back to the US before I get the visa, but then we figured it would probably be best if we saved that money for the months after the marriage, when I can't work. and that way, I can spend my vacation time with my family instead. Since I won't see them for a while after, I'm sure they will appreciate.

Well, I do remember reading that a US - Cuban couple was approved 1 week after they sent their petition at the beginning of Junuary. Apparently, when you're from Cuba that goes a lot faster! Maybe the second couple was from Cuba too ?

Check this out: Zulima & Yanzel Timeline
Sent I-129F: 1/3/2008; NOA1: 1/12/2008; NOA2: 1/14/2008; Interview date: 6/9/2008

Barbara & Alex Timeline
Sent I-129F: 1/11/2008; NOA1: 1/15/2008; NOA2: 1/22/2008

Country is Cuba but consulate is Switzerland (why switzerland???-- i guess i need to brush up on my geography blink.gif )... So it's true, they did get their NOA2 really fast!!!..... well, it takes them a long time to get interview schedule so I guess that evens out.. we would probably have the same interview date as them or maybe, even earlier good.gif

Maybe the Cuban fiance is currently in Switzerland?

Anyway, yes I hope we will have an interview date as "early" as theirs!! that would be great!

OK January Filers - I'm excited by the relatively meaningless change in date on my estimated timeline. After flirting with August 5, 6. & 7, this morning I was happy to see that the estimated date has dropped to August 1. While I'm excited for any change in the right direction, I'm not sure exactly what this date signifies. Is it the date that I can expect the NOA2?, is it the date that the NVC releases to the embassy?, is it the date that the embassy interviews? " Adjudicated" can be interpreted by my simple mind in a number of different ways. Does anyone have the answer? huh.gif

I think that's the time when USCIS will approve your I-129F petition (when you can expect the NOA2). But it would be better to have someone confirm this statement.

You can wait for the paper copy, or if you've been able to create an account on the USCIS website, then as soon as they'll send your NOA1, you can see it online.

Last year we were apart for 11 months...and knowing that we'd only be reunited for a short time was horrid! We may have to wait another 11 months (or even longer!) now, but at least when we meet again we'll never have to part again.

Yes that is very true. Same for us. Our longest wait was 13 months. This time, I hope it will be shorter but even if it isn't shorter, it doesn't really matter becuase it is the final wait.
