K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDallas lockbox or CSC

Hi...

After putting the package together, I went to make sure I had the correct address and when i did a search for which address to send the I-129F to I used this link:

http://www.visajourn...fter-july-30th/

:(

it will be returned.. new mailing instructions went into place last year. If you are looking for definitive confirmation of what you are doing, the best place is the website of the organization (in this case the USCIS) not a search on another website that might accidentally return old information (nature of search engines) based on the first hit of your search criteria.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresphotos for interview/extra proof

walgreens offers 4*5 sized photos for the same price as 4* 6. they say the 4*5 sized ones are perfectly cropped and don't cut off parts of the regular taken image.
My question is should i go for the 4 by 6 for the embassy or 4 by 5 sized photos?

2x3, 4x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14... you choose. this is much ado about nothing

If you come with her you can be present but as always they take people one at a time. It is really not difficult and nearly impossible to mess up. she cannot go the wrong way, she will be funneled to the passport control, hand over her passport and envelope and be out of there in 2-3 minutes.

but if you want to go just to make her feel better, then by all means do so.

Probably not. I have never heard of that for anyone from Ukraine. My wife got through faster than me.

oooooohhhh ooooohhh, me, me, me... a first for gary... my wife went through secondary at JFK.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 34 fee?

If you mean the I-134 instead of "I-34", and look at the USCIS page for it (here), it explicitly says:

Filing Fee :
$0

Except he is filing it with the consulate not the USCIS. In this case, the answer happens to be the same. Not always the case.

QUOTE (Danielle77 @ Nov 30 2008, 01:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello,
I'm filing an I-129 petition and it says that I need to copy both the front and back of my birth certificate. I had to order a short form online. There is nothing on the back. Do I need another kind of birth certificate? Should I copy the blank back of my birth certificate?
Thanks!!!!!!!

Think about it... When you copy the front side, you automatically have a copy of the back side... the blank side does not need to be on a separate piece of paper but simply a blank side of a piece of paper whioh you already have with the front page copy....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLawyer claiming I need to file I-130 after marriage... fiance coming on I-129f

If you are married within 90 days of entry into the US from a K1, you only file AOS. I do not know the circumstances that would require filing I-130 from a K1.

Arrive on a K-1 and DO NOT marry withing 90 days would then and only then require an I-130 to finish the immigration process to PR

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresbirth certificate
Birth and Death Certificates

Generally available, particularly for events occurring after 1970. Registration of births and deaths is compulsory in Lagos. The National Population Commission issues birth certificates for births after 1992.

For Lagos records, certified copies of records for dates ending with 1979 can be obtained at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Old Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos. For records after 1979, contact the local government that issued the original certificate directly. Most births and deaths outside of Lagos are also registered at the time of the event. Applicants can obtain certified true copies of certificates directly from the local government. Alternatively, acceptable identity/parentage documents are infant baptismal certificates and hospital or maternity clinic records of birth. Home births are rare in Nigeria and medical records are available in most cases. Affidavits may be acceptable as substitutes for documents for those born outside Lagos prior to 1960 or born in the eastern part of Nigeria in the 1960's at the time of the Biafran War, when presented in combination with convincing secondary evidence of relationship.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your help. I think we might star getting the US Passport for my son as soon as it's possible, so we might get done befor my interview. But now i'm confused about K1 visa. Obviously my son will not be issued a visa, i'm not going even to submit the required documents for K2. But what about me? Will i be able to get the K1 visa. Anyways, if we are not in time with US passport, after getting the visa i can stay longer in my country and leave after my son gets his passport. Is it possible? Thank you

why are you worried about your k-1? you have 6 months after the visa is issued to arrive in the usa.

Follow the example forms. What's so hard about that?

It's proper business form to print your name beneath a signature, many signatures are illegible.

Apparently when people begin the immigration process they forget they have brain cells. They somehow think that an RFE will be issued if they forget to capitalize a letter, miss a comma or a period, misspell a word, use blue ink instead of black, use black ink instead of blue, use red ink instead of black or blue, use a combination of computer type and handwritten replies, so on and so on and so on.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about Non Roman alphabet letters user

Hi
I'm a new here in this great website :)
Me and my fiancee want to fill I-129F. I have a question, it says in the I-129F (Q 16) that if your fiance native alphabet uses other than the roman letters, (WRITE) his or her name and address in the native alphabet. My Question is what do they mean by write ? Is it like handwrite or type using computer?
And this is also considering form G-325 there is the same question (the final question)

Thank you very much for your help :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUS Embassy Thailand Address not quite right. k1

Hi All,

I was in a bit of a rush, excited as I was, I put the address as

120-122 Wireless Road
Bangkok Thailand,

on my fiance letter of intent and my employment letter from my employer, which I sent to her 2 weeks ago now.

Instead of

95 Wireless Road
Bangkok Thailand,

(both address are valid but I believe the 95 one in the non immigrant Visas and the other is for everything else (?)

Is that going to be a big deal since my fiancee is the one mailing it and she will mail it really to 95 Wireless Road along with the rest of packet 3. Do the reviewers care that much for the address?

One slight addition. The OP said south asia. If his beneficiary is from the Philippines, the family preference visa is a 20 year wait. I don't know whether it applies as I don't know which country, but wanted to point it out in case it does. Bottom line, I would try to do the K-2 or the CR/IR-1 process.

Best of luck.

That would apply to non immediate family (brothers sisters and sons & daughters over 21). Does not apply to mothers/fathers and children under 21.

i have started my k-1 petition back in october and before my fiance comes i will go to the philippines and come back with her. Now she wants to marry before we come back to U.S.A to marry and although i do see this as a problem since my visa will be approved, i dont know if there is somthing i am missing here?

Can i marry my fiance before comming to the U.S.A, after i already filled my visa in order to marry her in the USA after my Visa has already been approved.

I don't knpw why people think they could possibly be the first. There pretty much ain't any situation that has not been asked about or done by someone else many times and many years before.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDocuments for petition of K1

You want divorce decrees. Make sure these are the final ones that have been recorded at the court where the divorce happened and show that (usually a stamp that is date with the court number/county/state). Make sure that if name changes occurred in the marriage, the divorce decree has the correct names (before the divorce/after the divorce as applicable). Make sure the names in your petition matches what is in the decree.

you also need to show the progression of name changes from birth to petition. if that occurred on a marriage certificate you need them as well

For the most part, there is no real reason to even receive the info packets from the consulate anymore. All forms and procedures are outlined on the website including the appointment telephone number. A foreign fiance(e)'s having a deliverable address is coming much less important each day

Hello!

I was wondering if the Consulate already has the initial folder we sent at the moment of the application (with our pictures, passport copies and all). I am not sure if I should print out the pics all over again as well as everything else that already exists in the original application.

i would not bring repeat evidence but continuing

While the consulate will have your initial file.

It is recommended to bring all the evidence again, in case they want to see it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill this cause a denial

Then please explain: if "the consulates have all the reasons they need already before you even walk in the door," why would interviews be conducted in the first place?

lack of sufficient evidence to approve, guarantees refusal. try going to a k-1 interview with absolutely nothing. see how far that gets you. yes, each individual consulate has there own threshold of what that takes. it might be an easier benchmark in london than HCMC. that is unfortunately the nature of the current system

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill this cause a denial

Unless I'm misinterpreting this statement, it appears to be 100% contrary to reality. Are we trying to say here that Lagos, the MENA consulates, the Indian consulates, Guayaquil, Santo Domingo, and others are NOT looking for reasons to refuse visas?

OP, your situation appears to imply a LOT of evidence of a bona fide relationship, which is very good.

I am not saying that. The consulates have enough reasons already before the case is even reviewed, the need reasons to approve.
payxibkaMaleUkraine2012-04-24 06:32:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill this cause a denial

I know very little about the consulate situation in SVG, but I know that this is definitely NOT the case at a lot of US consulates in third world countries. Many consulates begin with the presumption that the relationship is a sham, and then set about looking for evidence to back up that presumption. They're not looking for reasons to approve. They approve when they fail to find reasons to deny.

Gary pointed out some countries where the OP's circumstances could be an issue at the consulate. I can't speak for China and the MENA countries, but I know that this can be an issue in Vietnam under certain circumstances. The consulate in HCMC generally favors long relationships over short ones, but they can become suspicious if the two families knew each other for a long time. They might suspect one family is helping the other family to immigrate.

You are wrong. The consulates have all the reasons they need already before you even walk in the door. They do not need anymore. What they need are reasons to approve.

Good Morning everyone,
My fiance and i have known each other almost all of our lives. I have spent most of my childhood and all of my adult summers in SVG. He is our next door neighbor. My question is will knowing each other so long and the fact that my passport shows that i have been traveling there before we were in a serious relationship, cause them to think that our relationship isnt real and deny the application

The consulates do not look for reasons to deny, they look for reasons to approve. Focus on and present what makes your case approvable.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 application fee - Helsinki

Oh I do have another question... it's so confusing :(

I'm trying to make the application fee payment now, and on the Embassy site, they say:
"The receipt must state the visa applicant's name (message field - viestikenttä) and the archive ID number (arkistointitunnus)."

I have no "archive ID number",at least I have never seen it. Does a K1 applicant have one at all?

Archive number would be the case number assigned by NVC. In your case it likely starts with alpha code doe Helsinki (possibly HEL?) and then 10 digits

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 application fee - Helsinki

Hi, I just have to ask because I don't understand at all and I'll soon start crying

I have all the documents ready for the interview and I want to send my checklist to the Embassy, in Helsinki, Finland. Only one question remains. They say on the checklist:
"VISA APPLICATION FEE: Application fee of USD___ or Euros___ can be paid to our xxx account, please bring the receipt to the interview."

WHAT is the ammount they want? I've found mixed information:

On the US Helsinki Embassy site, they say:
"K category immigrant visa $240 - €192.00 "
http://finland.usembassy.gov/fees.html

But on http://travel.state....types_1263.html they say:
"K – Fiance(e) or Spouse of U.S. citizen category visa: $350.00".

So which one is it? I really don't want to make anymore mistakes so please help me!

k-1 fee is changing to $240.. Helsinki info is more up to date

Im not really good at answering things like this but ill try. From what i read in other posts the fees have changed. Im not sure if the fees have changed for everywhere or just for certain countries. Try calling the consulate where you need to send your documents they should be able to tell you the exact amount.
