Thanks again everyone I am on air for sure! Started making more wedding arrangements right away heheee! We decided we are going to try our best to have a couple 8's in our date haha.....what is even funnier is we also remembered that umm the first time we consummated the relationship was also on the 18th! So yeah 8 is our number haha!

Pam the park and backyard sound gorgeous!!! I would love to do outside but in fall here that is just too iffy haha! Cannot wait to see photos!!!

Ok now how do I know when it gets to NVC or leaves NVC and all that business I see people have posted before their loved one gets packet 3?

That's easy. You simply call the NVC (603-334-0700), give them the case number that you've had for sooooooooo long from USCIS, and they'll tell you when they recieved it, and when they sent it to London.

In my case, they only had it for 2 days before it was headed over the Atlantic!

Brilliant news, kiddo!! One of the most popular apporovals on VJ, I'd wager. wink.gif

Don't worry - things really motor now! NVC received my file 7 days after I was approved, and they dispatched it to London 2 days after that. Packet 3 will be on Garteh's doorstep in no time!!

Minneapolis POE was a bliss, there was a 'new immigrant line', so it took me between 5 and 10 minutes to go through immigration. the officer was very friendly and smiling all the time. he asked how we met, and when we would get married.
Now I am in St. Louis, I didn't sleep very well (damn AC is too noisy) but it doesn't matter because we are now together smile.gif

I'll come back later, I'm going back in his arms now smile.gif

My other half is from St Louis; whereabouts you at?

Hello Everyone!!!

Talking about dresses, we decided with Richard to first have as soon as possible a courthouse wedding, like that we can do AOS and Advance of Parole really quick. Because I want that my daughter will be able to go back in France to spend Christmas with her dad. As i have a court judgment who says that shes has to spend half of vacation with him, i think that an expedite case will work.

SO first a fast courthouse wedding and some weeks later a real nice wedding at the church, with my parents, Richard's parents, my big daughter, my brother etc...

But, i don't gonna to wear my great wedding dresses for the courthouse... i need to find something beautiful but really less expensive and also more simple for the courthouse. Any advice?

I'll be wearing my "I've made my choice - 666" Slayer T-Shirt, when I take my vows, Miss Yoko. Would you like me to get you one???

You know, I can't think of anything more soul destroying than spending God knows what on a plane ticket, enduring the 8-hour flight, and then being turned straight around, and put on the first plane back from whence you came. Utter, utter nightmare. This is why I only spend a week or two maximum during my stateside visits, and make absolutely sure that each visit is seperated by at the very least, 3 months.

No way is that #### ever happening to me!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting Questions

What name did she use to apply for her ESTA?

If its in her maiden name as is her passport, then you have to issue the ticket under her maiden name.

What the CBP officer wants to see is that the name on the ticket is the same as the name on the passport.

If she wants to travel under her married name then she will need to change her passport and apply for a new ESTA. Name on ESTA and passport must match, or else the airline system will have problems matching your wife's ticket to her approved ESTA.

The last thing you need is to have an issue with the ESTA at the airport when she is departing out of the UK.

Another excellent point. I've checked, and ESTA is under maiden name also. She's all set.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting Questions

K, that's what I figured. Next question, in that case, is obviously the name thing. As previously mentioned, all her travel documents are still in her maiden name, despite her legally taking mine (and no "well she should have changed that shouldn't she" type lectures, please - she hasn't and it is what it is).

Any issues with that?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting Questions

OK, so I know these "can I visit my spouse on the VWP when .................." yada, yada, yada, have been done to death, but bear with me.

Yes, I know my wife can visit me from the UK on the VWP. But here's the thing: this will be the first time she's visited as my wife. The other time we still just dating. AND we haven't started the CR-1 process yet. I was just wondering if the fact that we're married now might count against her in some way in the mind of an over-zealous IO regarding a possible overstay. Would she better off just saying 'visiting boyfriend" like last time? All her travel documents are still in her maiden name after all.

Does this make any sense at all? or am I worrying about nothing?

Please do some research before making these statements. VSC is at a standstill. Period.

Well excuse me, I'm sure!! It's just that having perused this site for the last couple of months, the VSC processing times struck me as being significantly quicker than those of the CSC. Sorry, does anyone know how soon she can visit? She already has a flight booked back with me a few days after the wedding.

Corinthians said:

"You gotta figure that she could come here and stay 'til almost Christmas, go home for a month or whatever to pack things or get papers together and then come back for another 90 days and once that was over,"

Could she really leave with my right after the wedding? The way he put it wasn't that bad at all.

Like another poster has said, provided that she isn't "doing a Russ" (sorry Kim laughing.gif ) and spending months on end in the U.S., leaving for a few days and then coming straight back, then there's no issue with her visiting on the VWP. You'll have to go through seperate lines at immigration, so when she goes through she's better off not pointing out that she's travelling with you (her new husband) as that's bound to send up the red flags. Get her to make out she's travelling alone and has simply come to visit you.

I've come and gone with no issues whatsoever during the visa process by sticking to those simple principles. I've never even been asked for any documentation tying me to my home country.

Hello

I'm brand new to this forum, so forgive me if this is a question that's repeatedly asked, but I'm currently in the process of applying for the K1 fiance visa. Obviously, these things take time, but equally obviously I want to see my girlfriend and the kids as much as I can.

As such, I've booked a week's holiday leaving on Wednesday. Now I know that as soon as I arrive at immigration and have my passport scanned, it'll flash up on the immigration officer's screen that I have a permanent residency application pending. I assuming that once I explain to him/her that I'm only in the states for a week, and that this week long holiday has nothing to do with the K1 application, that there won't be an issue? I will have a return ticket that I can show, plus a week's car rental agreement showing that I intend to return the car to the airport I got it from. It should also be noted that I've received no notification whatsoever from USCIS that I can't do this, so I'm assuming it's fine.

Can anybody recommend any other type of supporting evidence that I should have ready on arrival?

Any help gratefully received

Thanks

Damian

Hi Damian, welcome to vj and good luck with your petition.

Other supporting evidence you can use is a rent agreement or mortgage papers or even a letter from your employer stating when you are due to return to work.

I hope you have a good trip.

Thanks a lot, S&J, much appreciated.

Well, seeing as that question was answered so quickly, perhaps you fine people can help me with another!

My application was received and marked as "pending" on 19th February this year. It is with the California Service Center. Thing is, four months on and I've heard ####### all. Nada. Zippo. Squat. Is this normal, or should I be worried?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp understanding USCIS Processing Times

QUOTE (Kathryn41 @ Jul 15 2008, 06:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Basically, the time lines mean that, as far as USCIS is concerned, they are processing applications that were received on December 18, 2007. If you wish to submit an inquiry about your own application, they will not consider it until your own NOA1 date is later than the date that they have posted - ie. December 18, 2007. There is no implied date of approval from the submission dates that they are currently processing.

When it states it is for the I-129f - that is specifically for the approval of the I-129f and not the K-1 visa, so that would mean they are only considering what would result in the NOA-2 - permission for your fiancee to apply for a K-1 visa. The K-1 visa part is processed outside of the US through the Department of State and not through USCIS.

If you want to see a more realistic time frame for the actual processing time lines, you should check out the "processing times' tab listed on the tool bar above this forum. These are based upon the actual experiences of VJ members and so reflect more accurately what is happening rather than what USCIS says is happening. You can check for the I-129f and you can check for the specific USCIS processing center since there are vast differences even within the individual USCIS centres.

Once you receive the NOA2, the whole application is forwarded to the Consulate responsible for El Salvador. You should also be able to check and see what a realistic time line is for K-1 approvals for El Salvador.

I hope that helps to explain it a little better.

YES!! Thanks so much! I was wonder the same.

I read a lot on the forums and i'm really suprised some i've coming across that have had their K-1 approved in 3 or 4 months. The few I looked at were all filed at Vermont and in 3 or 4 months their Fiance was in the states. They also didn't have a RFE and although what I read is great news for those that were processed this quickly. I'm not getting my hopes up at all, i'm accepting that mine will take a very long time. I am doing this so I won't get very dissappointed as the months go by.

I've also seen many that have started this process years ago and still nothing. I just don't understand how some filed back in 1996, if this is correct, and still not approved or even an interview. I wonder if maybe some have forgotten to fill in their timeline, as this just doesn't seem right.

I've been thinking how could it take that long, unless maybe it's the country the fiance/spouse is from, causing the delay. No matter, I wish us all a speedy approval time. smile.gif And for those that did get approved so fast.. be very thankful. smile.gif

Jolie

Not everyone has been so lucky. Weve been waiting for a few months now and only been "touched" once. I guess it depends on where your fiance is from. One's from MENA seem to go slower than others....

To be honest, I think it makes ####### all difference where the fiance is from. I've seen peeps from here there and everywhere getting approved in 3 or 4 months, and others from the same here there and everywhere still waiting after 6 or 7 months. Fwiw, I'm from the UK and still waiting after exactly 5 months.

We've been 10 years talking every single day... lived together for over a year and a half.... and still to this day talk every day for hours. Still hard to say goodbye every single time... so don't bet on it. wink.gif

Just actually paid attention to your timeline, Kim - 5 years between meeting online and meeting for real!!?? Man, don't you love playing hard to get!!

Hi Damien
Dont sweat it you could never put me off, we are already at the Ozzie and Sharon stage lol

yes I am a rocker I promote rock bands just came off tour with Ministry which was amazing

I met my boy on myspace was sending a message to one of my bands Prong, and saw his picture on a comment he left and the rest is history, it is so great the wedding is all sorted we are getting married at the Ministry compound in El Paso Al Jougensen is gonna get ordained to perform the ceremony, Chuck Billy is gonna give me away and Tommy Victor from Prong/Ministry will be best man as it is all down to him that we met, and lots of other band people I know will fly in for it

Of course I have been to the Standard it is about 10-15 mins in the car from my house,

Small world eh

The best bar in London to go to is the Crobar ever been there............

Its great to have some other rockers on board

My friend Emma is going through the Visa process as well she is getting married to Tom from SOiL

Hope you stay in touch I will send ya a friend request, so we dont bore other people with our rocky stuff on the forum

Shaz

WOW!!! wow.gif How cool are you!!!!!!!! Judging by those names, you're into the heavier stuff, right? Well, I'm going to see Slayer at the NEC in Birmingham - that's quite cool, right!!?

I'd heard Chuck Billy wasn't looking too clever healthwise recently - he better now? Anyway, you're right - we shouldn't hijack this thread with our music rants. Sorry folks!

Ha ha
well I am still missing him terribly but by your standards thats ok as we have not hit 18months yet ha ha
Maybe I should save myself a lot of money and heartache and not bother carrying on with the visa after reading your insight Damien lol
No dont think so .........I love him, I want to move out and be his wife but I might now concider a job that takes me away for weeks at a time

thanks for the fun comments as well, if you dont have a joke about it once in a while you would not be able to get through this

Shaz

Don't let me put you off, Shaz; I'm sure your relationship won't become the Al & Peggy Bundy type that ours has. laughing.gif

I see you're a bit of a rock chick - good for you. Me and 'er indoors met through rock 'n' roll (AC/DC forum). I lived in London for 12 years, and always used to go to The Standard in Walthamstow - you been there? Fantastic place for tribute bands, but sadly, due to close sometime next year.

Why is it never the ###### chav joints like Yates Wine Bar that close, ffs!!?? mad.gif

Hola all..If my fiance gets his fiance visa thru Mexico, he plans on going and spending a few weeks in Mexico before returning to the US. He plans on flying. Does he HAVE to go through JFK? How does that work? Thanks!!

Nope, his POE can be wherever he likes. But apparently, those who go through JFK get some sort of temporary work permit (which is unique to that airport by all accounts) which enables them to work immediately.

This is exactly why I will NOT be using JFK as my POE - so 'er indoors can support my lazy ####### for a few months! laughing.gif

That's hilarious!! No stamp... Can't work.

Precisely - I wouldn't want to piss the authorities off now, would I!!??

Cast iron argument that she can't say squat about!

I rolled my eyes at this bit of your reply, I really did.

But then....................

........I thought, "haha, this one at least has a sense of humour...!!"

...but then you went and spoiled it all with.............

Quit while you're ahead, S&M, quite while you're ahead......

Well if this is all you were able to come up with then I am certainly still ahead. But I don´t care about that. Your ideas are sad and it´s good to know none of us (who have to roll our eyes over your prehistoric thoughts and judgments) are destined to live with you. If you are so jealous about other people´s relationships working so well despite their age difference, then it´s your problem. Don´t bother us with it any longer. Oh, and let us know in about 30 years how your bogus relationship turned out tongue.gif

Yes, jeraly, that was definately the most hilarious post of this entire thread.

and how are are you again......... whistling.gif i hope you all are really just jokeing with each other

brnidokiegurl, let me just clarify a couple of things:

The bit about me firmly believing that there are beneficiaries on here that are only after one thing (and it's not true love) is 100% true - make no mistake about that.

However, the vast majority of material from page 8 onwards is just pure message board comedy gold! laughing.gif Seriously, how easy is he to wind up!!??? My kingdom for a worthy adversary!

And that, my peeps, is that for the night. It's past midnight, and I need to focus fully on my Limewire session.

Peace, luv, and hugs to all - goodnight.

-x-

Now I must away.

Edit - hang on...............

Well, Sveta called the Embassy in Kiev this morning and was told that our documents had not yet arrived. DHL tracking shows it arrived on the 18th in the afternoon, so I figure they simply do not have it entered into the system yet. She was told to wait until next week to call back, but I think we will just wait until Friday. innocent.gif

It's a race to see who gets their interview first now, cwaf laughing.gif

I reckon you'll win, because I'm waiting until my police certificate/long form birth certificate come before I post my packet 3. Speaking of which, any ideas on my question over at the Consular Discussion forum?

Just a little update:

Packet 3 has arrived - another step closer!!

Well Damian, you are well ahead of me now! Mine still has not left the NVC. I am into week 4 of NVC Hell....even THEY say '2-4 weeks is normal', so it had better leave this week! ranting33va.gif

Morning, cwaf. You know, after the initial 5 months of CSC bullshit, things have moved along at an incredibly rapid pace. I mean, NVC received my file 1 week after NOA2, they dispatched it to London 2 days after that, and London posted it to me 4 days after that!! The only reason it took 10 days to get to my house from the embassy, is because they didn't use the correct postcode!!!

I can only think that it's an "embassy efficiency" thing, as those going through London seem to be having no issues whatsoever. But hang on in there, buddy, you know it's gonna happen soon. Lord knows my work here is not done until you have your missus with you stateside!!

hey Damian!! The NVC FINALLY came through for me! I called today and they shipped my paperwork on FRIDAY! I tracked through DHL and saw one package that went to Kiev, and it arrived yesterday!! (18th) I will have Sveta call the Embassy tomorrow and try to schedule her interview! I finally feel like I am hitting the home stretch on this FIRST part of their journey to be with me! kicking.gif

Cool beans!!! But doesn't she have to receive/fill in/send off the packet 3 forms before her embassy can schedule the interview? Or did you already do that electronically?

Total result either way I guess! good.gif
