I think hubby and I are the first ones in line here on VJ. VSC received our petition 08/03/2007- nothing yet. No check cashed, no receipt, no notice at all. We did contact our Congressman but with no luck so far. They said they would be looking into the case but who knows how long it will take for them to even find our petition in that huge pile. Plus, now that its been sent to Chicago who knows what will happen and when. I think a NOA1 would be a nice Christmas present. At least this way we would know that our case has been received and will be worked on in the future.

German lol, said same thing in another thread, forget the NOA2, all we are looking for is a receipt and yes I think you are the longest. This absolutely reeks of our system being so screwed up.

Got response from my Congressman also, they are assigning case worker, what happens, dont know, can not foresee any great leaps and bounds until January but lets all hope that have been waiting since August to get a receipt number, check cashed at least. This is so out of bounds that even the ref called it quits. Merry Xmas, for anyone I hope.

Keep me updated please.....dont matter if its Vermont or CSC, they both seemed to have just known to place all applications in a bin somwhere ready to ship to Chicago Lockbox. Why I still do not understand is their mission statement per se, we shall process applications in order they were received. What they should have posted was that I-130's will be placed for future use, and does not apply to this manual procedure.......sigh will email lawyer today and have him call and see what is going on. Im tired of getting the same answer, nope not in system, no money order not cashed, no you are on the floor somewhere- Frustrating yes, telling hubbie nothing is going on , bollocks!!!!

Cheers hun and enjoy holidays.

you know i was thinking about that .... i am assuming the application in CSC/VSC is still in a bin somewhere not entered into the system ... overnighting a duplicate application to chicago lockbox might be faster that waiting for CSC of NVC

what do u guys think

Well I believe that the only reason USCIS is having ALL forms go to the Chicago lockbox is because CSC and VSC can no longer house applications that are coming thru their doors and just sitting in a pile. What I am assumming is that the current mailroom at CSC and VSC is overwhelmed and flooded with apps that just keep coming in and piling up. This probably makes it much difficult to get the receipting in a timely fashion when the mailroom is constantly overworked. So they implemented the Chicago Lockbox(CLB) so that apps can stop coming into their mailroom before they are ready to process them.

I think this is a good move. It may help in the organinzation process plus allieve the stress of the workers there so they dont just up and quit from all of the frustration. I am assuming CLB will start housing all applications until said service center is ready to receive them. Maybe CLB will start issuing out NOA1's too so that people can at least know that their application was received safely. I don't think this means CLB apps will get processed faster than the apps at CSC or VSC, but they could receive an NOA1 before others. There apps are still just sitting in a que waiting to get shipped off to the designated service center. I think this process is just for organizational and catch-up purposes. They obviously have workers at CLB who will be alleviating the work load from the service center workers, so maybe the service center workers can then start focusing on actually processing the apps.

Yes on trying to help the backlog and proces what is outstanding but the receipts will still come from appropritae area of filing aka CSC or VSC as per memo.

And i also agree good move, l think it may help.... ok need another paddle for our canoe lol

Cheers hun

Susie

I would think all applications will be handled based on priority dates they were sent. That only seems to be fair and USCIS will work on cases piling up in Vermont/CS offices from July/August instead of processing new ones coming to Chicago even it means sending NOA1 notices. Atleast i hope thats what will happen..

Well the only thing an NOA1 really means is that they received your file. Doesnt mean they are gonna start working on it, just means they were able to log it cash your money and assign it a number. The priority date is something entirely different.

M-

So true, but at this point, receving a NOA1 would be great xmas present for alot of us waiting - but officer was wrong, they must honor date sent in and received, but that does not mean six months and approval - who knows how long, its a waiting game for us all in every different area of I129, I130, AOS whatever.....we have to be strong and try to understand that soon it will be over. Hun,

hang in there we are in the same boat, I would not suggest that but oh hell who knows anymore - but the applications going to Chicago will still be routed to the appropriate office aka VSC or CSC or did i read that memo wrong. No here it is....
Petitions filed with the Chicago Lockbox will be routed to, and adjudicated at, the appropriate USCIS Service Center. This routing will be based on the petitioner’s place of residence in the United States

Also it seems to me that when people file in November and have their NOA1's that is not the general procedure of getting applications done in order of receiving them. No offense to them - cheers in fact - just that I wonder if we are all in a box labeled "EXPLOSIVES DONT OPEN" - growling

Hang in there but I am so confused as to what is right what is wrong......oh yeah that's the American way.

I filed I-130 for my wife on 20th August 2007 and USCIS still hasn't even cashed the check yet at Vermont. Is this the general trend or am i alone? Real worried. I hope the application hasnt been lost. I sent it via DHL Courier and have the tracking number as proof that it was delivered. This uncertainty and wait period is killing us. Please help!

Thanks Rip, yes I have that page in my favs - I actually have two applications in but as you can see from my rantings from previous post, there are a few of us just looking for confirmation of receipt after 90 days plus. Have USCIS doing a trace now and they were more than happy to proceed with that little request, probably just to keep me happy for another thirty days :-). I am not really worried about the process after that I know that will take time, I just want to make sure that the application has not been blasted off into space somewhere and we will have to reconfig the whole package - oh wait we have a lawyer, they can do that goodie.

Question for you.... How did you manage to mail in the I-129 without the I-130 receipt?

Or do I assume you DID get a reciept.

Is it possible to mail in multiple copies of the same stuff to each center hoping one gets a reciept before 2019?

Our lawyer is pretty much with it omg surprise and did mail both since your receipt on the sending shows proof of delivery to USCIS. Its been discussed in other threads, would I have done it, I would not even had a clue at that time what an I-129 or I-130 was so i hope it helps. It all went to Texas and then its being airlifted to or has been to California sometime before 2020. lol

Spoke with misimmigration today, they are working on September 3rd apps btw.

Cheers

well f'it then I think I'll try the same, I do have my USCIS Delivery comformation and number saying it has been sent and recieved.

I still think its completely unfair people are moving ahead of me in processing just because of where I was "told" to send my packet, Vermont.

I have no confidence anything is going to happen in the next 1 year. Into 4th month of absoulutely didly.

Hoho-

And yes u still have to send it to your service center of record I asked my lawyer and USCIS yesterday why we didnt just go through to Califonria, but they both said, no it still has to go to Texas in my case first and then airlifted via space shuttle to CSC/ But yes on sending now, you do not have to wait to receive NOA1 to send off other application - your receipt of delivery is sufficient. Another member and I are basically neck on neck on timelines and he is biotching up a storm with our congressman also and he sent both also.

And yes f' em. cheers mate

I am calling USCIS on Friday, yeah I will give them the week to get their act together and tell them exactly what I think about their new fee increase and how they handled it. Dont worry, no names yet. Its just pure bs as far as I can see. No husband, stress waiting for a damn NOA1 - I mean a NOA2 would like Thanksgiving dinner at Camp David.

Again: do not refile! It's gonna just make your wait longer. And who knows what would happen if they process and approve your first petition and then they find the second one months later in their mail boxes and might even call back your first petition from NVC to make sure that nothing was wrong with that one thereby making your wait even longer.

Looking at illegal immigration makes the legal way look like joke. BUT would it be appealing for a spouse of a UC to be an illegal immigrant? Honestly, I don't want to end up working illegally for $1.50 as a dishwasher somewhere. What did I get my degree in Germany for if I were to do that? I want to work legally and therefore nothing is left for me to do but wait it out!

More discouraging news, they updated the NOA1 notices and nothing... yet again it looks like USCIS didn't do one bit over the past week. But then it was thanksgiving week- maybe better luck next week.

Do not refile!!!! Instead of being at the head of the line you would be at the end. VSC received our petition 08/03/07 and we have heard nothing nor has our check been cashed. BUT: its in the pile somewhere! Just wait. If you haven't heard from them after 15 weeks contact your representative. Or try contacting USCIS after 90 days but they will probably only tell you that your petition is in a box somewhere in their mailroom!

I filed for my spouse in mid August with VSC and still have not received a receipt notice. I called immigration and spoke with an officer, she told me to check back in a couple weeks. The only relief I got out of the conversation was that she told me the processing times should not be affected for us, because they consider when the application was sent. I hope she is right.

Hang in there, the waiting is a biotch!!!!!! Filed Texas then it went to CSC and still no receipt, nada, sigh and no husband with me for Xmas let alone New Years bahhhhhhhhhhh hummmmmm to USCIS,,,,,,,,,why did they raise the rates again, just curious??

Thanks for sharing your story with us, and a huge CONGRATULATIONS.

I can't believe they asked all those questions about sex. LOL. I mean... I guess they are trying to establish a real marriage and all but I would be so uncomfortable! Too bad it wasn't the type of situation where you could answer and then say, "Would you also like to know in what position?" LOL. Sorry, couldn't help it!

But way to keep your cool!!!!!!

I am pregnant from my last visit ( december) so my answer would be duh NONE

LOL luv it

Congrats!!!!!

WOW! What a tough interview!

However, it is a beautiful story! I love the Psalm 23 question! I suppose that one will be the favorite for you two from now on good.gif Good things come to those who believe...

I hope you're both happy in the US soon! Welcome!

Psalm 23
THE LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Peace,
Mark-N-AAm

Hi Mark-N-AAm:
Amen for that, it is our favorite psalm God always fight the hardest battles for us and there's nothing to fear when his on your side.

Someone was watching over you two and I am so glad you made it - the questions on the sex is somewhat dumbfounding me but I guess they can get away with it - You both did great and again all I can say is CONGRATS and I would have probably biotch slapped the second officer across the room - excuse my language but holding your higher thoughts with you got both of you thru this and now can i say this......

WELCOME TO AMERICA......

Cheers and the best to you both in your new found life

It seems like Vermont is the holdup right now for the online system. I'm hoping they put the energy into getting the 130s approved rather than updating the online system, personally.

Many August/September VMT filers can't see their cases online either. The good thing it doesn't effect how fast your petition is going to be approved. I can see my petition online and I am obsessed, I log in every working day helpsmilie.gif LOL

Thinking about your name....cough and spit a hairball at these gits <smiles and says j/k> I think we just wait AGAIN and see what the mailman delivers to us in a few months or more perhaps???? Probably to look at this in a postive way, if we could access our case online which alot of us cant and lets say its a Friday yes, and we see that dreaded message about YOU HAVE RFE....well our weekend is shot to hell and our SO's are taking the brunt, this way we get mail, we flip out and just shoot the mailman instead. Hey, just got our case number through the post. Is this what is called the NOA1? Makes no reference to it on the paperwork. Unable to view the case on the USCIS website yet, maybe it will take a while to show up.

It probably is. Your case will be processed in Vermont CS even though you filed to Texas. Vermont has difficulties with viewing online case status now. Not many can see their cases online.
Please change you Service Center to Vermont in your Timeline so that you could see when appx. your petition will be approved.

YEAHHHHHH - strangest thing today tho - got a NOA1 from VERMONT on the I129F and I can view that one but the I130 is still not there - no biggie but just thought that maybe with the Chicago Stranglehold Box that those petitions are somewhat slower getting into the system and I have seen two peeps that could not access and wham bam - they can access and get that wonderful message " YOUR I130 HAS BEEN APPROVED" - keep kicking everyone.

Ok, first change your timeline to say CSC instead of Nebraska. When this is not updated it throws off the estimates and timelines that VJ provides to give everyone an idea of their adjucation date and such.

As far as the number on check...it has to be on there. That check is essentially a receipt of your payment and essentially and NOA1...just not a hard copy. There should be a number at the top left hand corner that starts with WAC-xx-xxx-xxxxx I could not read my check all that well so I mistaked a 0 for and 8. Some people are not receiving NOA1 hardcopy but they are still in the queue and sometimes get an NOA2 without ever receiving their NOA1. If you call USCIS, they will probably just give you the run around....and tell you that the online system is not updated..yada yada yada. Your husband can try and call to see if they have his name on file and give him that number...not sure if they are authorized to give it over the phone or not.

True, even with a NOA1 you may not be able to access online case with USCIS tho CSC seems to be more updated than VSC.

Ours took about five days total, but again, check is cashed that is a great sign and basically you are in. Calling them will probably end up with results that you are not in the que yet, but you can always try.

Best

Hi Evgeniya - in your timeline you say you were asked for additional paperwork quite quickly after you filed - was there something in particular missing? - at least you know they got your form in the first place if they noticed something missing. Perhaps that slowed it down for some reason when they got sent on to the Chicago place - you might have been bumped back to a later box in whatever system they use and so your NOA1 is a little later than other Oct filers? Just speculating about that of course - still not sure how they work the receipting system when we have people from Aug and Sept still without NOA1s but some people from Oct have them. unsure.gif

Hi Isma. They asked for more letters from our friends to prove bonefide marriage. We sent them on Oct. 15th and they got it on Oct. 22nd. You might be right it could slow down the process. I just worry nevertheless. And thank you for the good point, since they have asked for more letters it means they did recieve our petition. Good luck to everybody who filed in August, September, October and November (LUCKY US!!!!!)

That's really interesting that they asked you immediately for letters to prove bonefide marriage - there's been lots of speculation on these boards what people should send when they live in separate countries to prove their marriage. Had you sent anything else in the original application apart from your marriage cert? Photos, etc. Did they ask for a specific number of letters?

We sent 3 letters from friends/family, some wedding photos and proof of flights to see each other over the last three years. But we were just guessing really what they might want.

With our petition we didn't send any letters at first or pics. When they asked for letters from our friends vouching for our marriage, my husband sent I think 10 of them and information about our joint bank account in the US and wedding pics. I think that is all. They didn't signify a number of letters.

E-

They asked for all that on the first go around........but u had your marrige certificate in there yes? Strange, but not a NOA1 just for scanning purposes??? hmm...... did you call to see if there was one issued or is your check/money order not cashed - this one is a thump in the head for sure///// It sounds like an RFE but yet I was under the impression that a basic scan was done with the first go around, i.e., meaning everything signed, check in correct amount and all areas filled in correctly...

Confused shakes sleep from head and wonders on this.

Congratulations to those of you have just received your NOA1s or checks cashed.

Unfortunately for us it has been a roller coaster ride the past 24 hours.

Yesterday Kim opened her mailbox to find a big envelope from USCIS. She thought it was a bit big for a NOA1 and on opening it turned out to be a rejection letter. In her excitement back in October she had mistakenly dated the check October 2008 so they rejected the application. sad.gif

It has gone back in the post today with a correctly dated check and a letter requesting that they honor the original filing date. Hopefully they will look favorably on us and we can stay as October filers. When I first read Kim's email I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Having waited 3 months for the NOA1 and then to be hit by this. Even if we end up at the back of the queue and become January filers I will eventually get that elusive green card. In the mean time back to watching the NFL playoffs on Channel Five. smile.gif

Yes, this is the latest update. So if the Chicago Lockbox is so up to date through 8/20/2007, where is my NOA1 which was received by them on August 14??????????????????????? This is bull.

Dod, I am so confused on this Chicago Lockbox, as it says August 20th ok, but is that the date they received or the date the service centers received? Vague information, and have heard from alot of different sides on this that some applications were not transferred to Chicago and stayed at their service center. No information that is concrete here, so I cant believe anything that I am seeing....you can try to call USCIS next week to see if you are in the system but ya know thats a coin flip on accurate information, not being in the system, but getting correct information.

Happy Holidays even tho they are so rough for many of us right now, but just hang on...what else can we do but wait, I would wish for an I-129f entry into the system but as you can tell neither of my applications nor a few other mates here have either one entered from August or September forward. Confusing yes, expected yes.

I am waiting till second week January and then will probably refile the the I-129f if nothing shows up. When I see K1's I-129's being entered in three days and receipts sent, grrrrrrr....not at them, but at the system. Just seems if your application is a spousal visa then there is a red flag to hold back for future development. JUST WRONG!!!!

One thing that I got a kick out of was another VJ member saying to me on the phone, why can the IRS (oh yes them lol) process into the system millions of applications received on April 15th and yet, USCIS has to relie on outside contractors (ok maybe this is good now) to get the job done. Again piss poor management and not thinking ahead of supply and demand. Raise rates yeah go for it USCIS, but expect to have a line of applications flood your system, and if you are not ready for this, then wait on the fee raising until you can handle it.

helpsmilie.gif and tosses USCIS some more VISINE FOR THEIR COFFEE!!!!!
