US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 question
QUOTE (nmh @ Sep 22 2008, 11:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I was calling the IRS for my tax transcript for the last 3 years. I was given two options. The first one was a transcript (partial?) for free which will take 2 weeks to deliver and an option to get a photocopy that will take 2 months to get and a cost of 39 dollars per photocopy of transcript. Right now I am on hold waiting to speak to someone at the IRS but not very confident they will know which one I need for the I-134. Thank you for any advice.

Cheers

All u need is the partial accepted for immigration issues, mortgages (oh those dont exist anymore sorry) etc.,etc. no need for the one to pay - it really only takes about five days to receive

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical exam and self harm
Please avoid any problems before you get to NVC- go to doctor get write up that you are mentally ok etc etc., but again, this wont be a time for jumping thru hoops, they take it seriously mate - Please if you are serious, look at Guiness69 and what has happened there.

I only wish you the best, but dont presume it will be ok and of course never ever lie, it could have been years ago as was the case of Guiness, but it seems to be a sticky point for the embassy (and yes this was London) -

Tis better to be prepared and pass then not be prepared and get hammered with AR or AP.

Problem here is that Knightsbridge will report findings to Embassy and will want a doctors statement from you satisfying that you are ok, but our mates did that and they are now at CDC in Atlanta in AP - ya just never know, good luck. It is an issue dont be fooled.

Yes that is a definite answer - there is case like that right now in the UK where they are held up at CDC for that reason after interview (AP)

they don't tell me what is the process for loosing a case. Does the NVC send a copy of the file but I think they have
copy in their system. Any know what do they do if they loose a case?

Hun,

What means your case went to AP - huh?? I mean you just left NVC and transferred to different embassies, so confued you havent even had the interview yet, at that point, its possible to get the AP notice 221G - shakes heads wonders what the heck is going on but maybe AP can be for finding a lost file - hell i dont even know anymore.

Hi yes it's a K1 fiance visa that we applied for and which I have been approved for. I'm in the UK and my fiance is in the US.

I didn't realise how useful a timeline would be to people other than myself so I didn't bother in the past. I'll give one a go shortly though.

As for the I-134 the more I read about it the more less likely I think it will be needed - not least because I earn a relatively decent income and i'm in a steady job until my departure date - and on top of that I earn more than my fiance so the whole idea of her needing to be my sponsor seems a little odd.

Nods head but dont underestimate the embassy mate - there have been a few that have had some issues with this because they did not bring all the goodies, i think the best thing to do and only words of good luck here is bring it and if they dont ask your fine. If they do, then you are prepared.

Good Luck on interview and after medical is done takes about three to seven days before visa just an fyi.

Cheers,

Since you are mentioning the birth certificate, the police report this points to a K1 visa - timelines help if you have a chance to fill out.

Make sure you bring proof of the funds, tis one thing to say yes I have one million pounds or dollars, tis another thing to the CO to see that proof. Even with assets such as a house or flat, redemption statment, current appraisal etc.

Good Luck and God Speed

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview before Medical?
Cheers Alex,

Yes it is fine, in the UK sub topic fourm you can get more info on how this works, there are people there that have done this, tis not a problem, just that your VISA will not be approved until results come in from Knightsbridge which takes about three days from medical.

Alot of good info there if your curious otherwise god speed. Make sure you call KNIGHTSBRIDGE tho about three days after to make sure you passed medical (they usually call you if there is a problem but call anyways).

Godspeed and Good Luck

p.s when u have medical, you just need passport, your NVC number (interivew letter would be sweet) any vac records (if you dont have dont worry your going to get a few jabs in the arm) and if you have ever had any problems in the past for certain issues, something from your doctor stating your good to go. I think my husband had one required photo also - but cant remember but again go to UK thread for full reviews on Knightsbridge. Oh yeah, credit card or MONEYYYYYYYY!

The pub across the street is great also for afterwards to numb the experience altho they are quick, efficient and in most cases quite pleasant! Not the pub lol, the doctors lol

Yeah, don't worry about it. We also filed Oct. 3 with NSC and still have not received a NOA. I was lucky with a 1-800 line yesterday and found out that our case has been entered into the system, transferred to California, but the officer told to wait another 3-4 weeks to actually receive the NOA. Good luck!

Thanks for the information.
usually when I call the 1-800 number, you're required to enter your application number or something like that, and that can only be found on the NOA. How did they pull up your info to tell you of your status without this. Thanks

Yes we filed late August in Texas, applications were sent to California, and even tho USCIS knows me by first name now, and we do have a lawyer although I chose to do my own research, how the heck did you get that answer? That is cool, but at least you know its somewhere......we are still waiting for our NOA1.

Yes, there is a way to track cashing of a money order but it is extremely difficult. You need to contact the issuer of the money order and they can look at the cashing records for you. Typically they want to wait 90-days BEFORE they'll search for you but this varies by company.

NOT THE EASIEST TASK but it's not impossible~ Policies vary by company!

Thank you guys. I bought the money order from my account bank. I guess I can go to them and try my luck. Thanks again.

GL - I got mine from check cashing place and I can call and see if its been cashed daily with the number on the receipt. They are only 3 to 5 days behind in posting so again gl and cheers

You have gotten a pretty typical RFE at this stage of the game. They want to see that over the past two years (and since you have been married, really) you have begun to mingle your financial assets and liabilities. By the looks of the list of evidence you initially provided, you were very light on this kind of documentation. There have been some excellent suggestions already in this thread for additional proof you can send in. I personally would focus on the following:

--anything that proves you are each other's beneficiaries -- wills, life insurance, medical insurance, etc etc

--anything that proves you are co-mingling your assets & liabilities -- tax transcripts from all the years you have been married, copy of mortgage/lease, joint bank accounts, joint investments, bills in both your names (or, if you are keeping your money separate, show how things are getting paid -- ie. You are paying the phone bills, he pays the cable bill, etc etc).. I would include a sample of those kinds of things that span the existence of your married life together, Ie. not every single bill from every single month.

-- anything that proves you live at the same address

Anyways, it sounds like you will be ok. Don't freak out too much. smile.gif

LEASE OR MORTGAGE SHOWING BOTH VERY IMPORTANT and gl to you .........damn the USCIS.

QUOTE (D&N @ Dec 2 2007, 02:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Wow, I remember those days. What we did? We talked, talked, and talked some more. Exchanged pics regularly. Chatted, webcammed, texted. I included her in every part of my day, small things like what my work schedule was, how things are going, stories from the day...she did the same with me also so now we sort of joke about our daily "updates". The last couple of months, we've been kind of working on how we want to make our home look, she has been buying some traditional things and sort of planning how she would like things to lay out and look.

The waiting can be very, very frustrating, we have used the time to learn to know each other, grow together, and have pretty much laughed our way through spotty internet/phone service, dropped calls, delayed text messages, and general technological issues that further aggravate the problem of maintaining closeness at a distance.

We're done, at least with filing, all we need is NVC/issue to Embassy, then we can interview and end this separation. It wasn't easy.

Good luck to both of you

Regards,

David and Nitadyah

Hang in there hun, we are in the same boat and dont see the end of the tunnel yet. What has really helped us alot is that we have Yahoo IM with cam (ooopsie) and mics and speakers. So even tho I may be working (self employed) or even cleaning the house, I leave the speaker on so its like he is here. Does not help when you go to bed at night but in time, this all will become a distant nightmare and you can say that we went thru some pretty stuff, we are stronger together.

Good Luck

Ok, so far the press release and other attempts to get others to circulate our Hershey's protest has not been much help.
But the purpose was to 1) let VSC know we're tired of waiting 2) get sympathy from the public, and 3) let politicians know our plight.

We might be foiled in number 2, but we accomplished the first and I have an idea on how to succeed with number 3 yet.

We can send our congressmen/women and senators the press release DIRECTLY by email. They all actually read these emails from constituents and it would be a way to follow up on our past complaints to them about the process so they know it's ongoing. The press release is at this link :

You could try giving your service centre a call. Has your check been cashed yet? The usual USCIS standards are that it can take up to 90 days to receive your NOA1 so the most likely outcome of calling the service centre would be to'call back after 90 days'. I think there are people on this forum though who are in the same position as you and waiting for their NOA1 also. Its no consolation I know, but at least you know youre not alone. But if your check has been cashed, then you can use the number on the back of the check to track your petition on the USCIS website.

Thanks for your answer. I don't know if my check has been cashed or not. I sent MONEY ORDER of 455$ and I have no idea how to check if its been cashed or not!? Can anyone help me?

And about NOA1 I will wait till i have 90 days and I will call them to see. Thanks a lot.

Yes we are in the same boat per se. I kept a copy of my receipt for the money order that I got so if you have that and remember where you got it from, then just call them and they will let you know. Most money orders have a delay of about 3-5 days of clearing.

Good Luck and yes Im calling Friday whether my lawyers agrees or not.
