So I took Garu's advice and called the operator and got a live person who did in fact have both our case received and our INN number! Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will ensure that I get a live operator from now on for any updates on our case. Clearly the automated system is not reliable!

Cheers and congrats!

The AVC is actually pretty good, but NVC is a bit backed up not much, but keep in mind that if your file is coming from CSC it takes longer than from Vermont - long thread on that somewhere - but again the AVC is good with certain information,. god speed and good luck

np mortgage pay out slip - meaning selling price of home vs what is or was owed.

In the UK i believe they call it a redemption statement.

Hi !!!

Kris has stop over there mate, read a few reviews not bad actually - they will probably let the cat in but not him lol -j/k wish he had direct to Orlando but again you guys are legally able to enter the USA as immigrants with a huge stamp and mysterious brown envelope so they cant say NO - heard one story in atlanta took about 20 minutes max so thats not bad!!

Good Luck and dont be nervous, nervous was for USCIS and interview, but now time to be excited!!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about joint sponsor
A joint sponsor can be any U.S. citizen, U.S. national, orlawful permanent resident who is at least 18 years old, domiciled in the United States, or its territories or possessions, and willing to be held jointly liable with the petitioner for thesupport of the intending immigrant. A joint sponsor does nothave to be related to the petitioning sponsor or the intendingimmigrant.

Best i could find. and yes correct on the I864a since the joint sponsor would not be a family member - Thanks alth - could remember the wording - hopefully I havent confused the OP too much

Cheers

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about joint sponsor
There is a thread here for those forms, we started with the I-864 but thats for IRI/CRI then switched over at embassy stage to a I-864a showing hubbies assets would cover all since I am self employed and they did not like my bottom line on Schedule C. You will still have to fill out the form, but if im not mistaken, the co sponsor does the I-864A-

I remember that your co sponsor could be anyone living in the USA LEGALLY and did not have to be a family member- if you look at the forms on USCIS pull up the correct form that applies to your situation and that should be able to help you otherwise another member here can post or you can check the other threads. Yikes to early to give you the link sorry luv, but god speed!

Yes,her income is above the proverty line.At first I was wondering if any kind of evidences that can be used instead of transcripts as she's a senior citizen and doesn't have to pay tax, but as you said so we have to wait til my husband pays a new tax year then resubmit I-864 again. It is hard to get a joint sponsor as they are scared of obligation. :-(
Thanks very much again for your reply :-)

yes your right alth is hard to get a co sponsor because of the obligation the only people can be our co sponsor is the person that is related to our husband..we have the same situation my mother in law is my co sponsor also and her tax return she did not make enough but she has retirement and VA disability that will cover above the poverty requirement and our case is already complete but i am not sure if i am good to go for interview about it...but good luck for both of us

??? Did the rule change on that??? A co sponsor can be anyone living within the USA with the correct amount of assets.
When did that rule change?

I hope that we don't lose our good characters and merits due to the extremely challenging and frustrating process that is the US immigration.

Cheers,

Yes its totally random - so best to prepare for the worst and be happy for the best. Not getting a touch until an approval is typical also - just keep reading and reading the forums and be educated on your next steps -

Sorry that someone cant just say yes it will be six months, that does not happen nor will it in the near future, that was the worst part for us.

Wishing you godspeed on your journey.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow do YOU cope?
Cheers,

You will find ways to cope (im's, cam, emails phones, trips) and in time, find something that makes it acceptable at the very best (only word that comes to mind nothing is acceptable about this whole mess to me) - otherwise this journey is not for the weak at heart, and when each step is behind you and you face the next you will make sure you tackle it. The one thing you have to do is set goals and not dreams!

Then remember all you talked about and set goals for when your other is finally here! Remember why you went thru this process and hopefully to each of us, we can set aside a small argument and remember the day we got an approval and how great it truly felt.

God speed on your journey!

If you are not required to file a tax return according to the IRS, then I would think all back up statments of what you have would be fine - your inheritance which i am guessing is banked somewhere (unless its under the mattress then I am at a lose to tell you what to do) your bank statements and SSDI should be able to show your assets.

You have up to three years to correct your 2007 tax return ( unti April 15, 2011). Is there some reason you want to do it right now?

I am getting our documents together for the I-864 now. I wonder if I could send a copy of the 2007 form as is with the I-864 and explain that I made a mistake, we will be filing an amended return however the income is correct and we are in the process of applying for an ITIN for Govi - if all they need is a copy of the passport page then I have that already. I was under the impression that the copy actually needed to be notarized by an American notary IN THE US or IRS official who witnessed the copy being made so his passport would need to be sent to me. If he can do it in KTM embassy then that is easy.

QUOTE (bowlerbabe770 @ Oct 17 2008, 08:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yeah, I filed Married filing separately because I claim none of his income and he has no US taxable income.

I actually didn't have his ITIN when I filed, however I had sent in the application. My tax person just put Petitioned in the section for it. My husband received the ITIN about 3 weeks after I petitioned for it.

Did you have to file a separate 1040 for your husband even though he had no taxable income?

Patti,

I filed last year as married but filing separate - and where it asked for Kris's ITIN number since we did not have one, NRA was put instead - this was fine, so you can just amend your tax return and show that - I remember someone saying that they filed single (which is wrong) but that they had xxxx amount of months to amend that -

The reason why we did not ask for ITIN was because he filed overseas, and we would he would be getting a social here upon is arrival sometime within in the next decade (sorry sik humor) there are alot of threads on this subject so just weed thru the threads posted in April and thats pretty much what you are going to see - you do not have to get him an ITIN if filing married, but separate.

Good Luck and always God Speed!

All I know about is my lawyer. Can't speak for others. I can't trust him to pick up his mail. I surely wouldn't trust them with a waiver or NOID. If I received an NOID and expected these clowns to handle it, I would just file for divorce. Tell my wife not to wait for me and get on with her life.

Hopefully this wont happen, but just in case IMOW - dont use that lawyer for the divorce -
