Russia, Ukraine and BelarusSpecialist degree
I wouldn't hold my breath on that being a masters here. More than likely it is a bachelors even though it is a masters there. A degree is very specialized in Russia. You go to the University of Language or Mathematics or Journalism meaning they are missing some courses. If you take Mathematics they tend to teach mathematics not English. In Texas at least, they require certain courses, English, Social science, History etc. Having said that when youget the transcript evaluated it makes a world of difference sometimes when you choose one company over the next. They evaluate differeently.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusSending flowers/gifts to Russia
I used russianflora.com 4 years ago. I ordered 9 roses, a bar of chocolate and a teddybear (polar bear) that now sits above my head. All flowers are expensive, the bear and chocolatewere "add ons". Natasha said the guy who delivered everything was very nice and very professional. The website never said the bearspoke so it was a big surprise when about a month later Natashas nephew discovered a Cheburashka type voice. The roses were huge and beautiful. She loved them very much.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBiometrics
Hello it's almost time for ROC. I was reading the instructions for form I-751 and under the heading "what initial evidence is required" number two says "two completed fingerprint cards (form FD-258)...". I thought it was electronic fingerprints and how can you send it with your initial package if you can't take them until you've submitted the package and get an appointment? What am I not getting?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNEED SOME HELP
You can fly in with a one way ticket or a round trip. Usually it is just cheaper to buy the roundtrip and not use the return leg flight. However if you can find a one way ticket for cheaper it makes no difference. If there is a problem with immigration all you have to do is explain its way cheaper to buy one way if thats the case. They arent stupid they know. As for your cash, you only have to claim 10,000.00 USD and over ...two hundred dollars isn't enough to claim, you can spend that at a coffee stand in the airport. When you read the customs form it will say something to that effect, if you have over 10,000.00 you must claim that here blah blah blah BTW FYI if you buy anything in the states over 10,000.00 in cash it has to be reported by whomever you bought from, cars, etc

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow to pass the time?
Just keep yourself busy, work, remodeling, cleaning, making your house ready for your SO. Just keep busy, but also talk, plan, where you wan to take her and show her/him, if they will be going to college find out about that or ESl classes, or finding driving schools if they can't drive. The actually longest and hardest part I think is waiting for them to come once they get visa approval. My Natasha got approved on the 13 and six days later got it in delieverd by DHL however she needs to finish Novemeber at work and needs time to straighten things out so these past days have been agonizing and to me much more slow than anything in this process. Just keep busy.

Hi I'm new here and am in the process of gathering all the documents need for the I-129F Fiance visa petition. My girlfriend is from Russia, St. Petersburg. Born in !973..her birth certificate says she was born in Leningrad, not Russia, not USSR but something like RFSSR (something like that) On the I-129F and 325G on birthplace what should I put Leninggrad and USSR or something else? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI Believe Someone May Attempt to Block the Visa
Well you can try and find them, gather evidence get a lawyer and file cease and desist and restraining orders. At lkest the orders will give you proof that you are at least worried about this person. Finding the person can be easy or very difficult. However I don't see how immigration will know what they have been saying about you unless they know you are filing something with them and sends them a letter or something like that. To find a person stick a blank paper in an envelope and address it to them at the last known address, then put plenty of postage on it. on the lower left hand corner write DO NOT FOWARD, ADDRESS CORRECTION REQUESTED. It will go around the world as long as you have enough postage until the mail person actually finds the correct address willwrite it on the envelope and send it back to you.. the person you are looking for will never know you sent anything.

One day I will file this petition, I swear haha I am waiting on papers and pictures from my fiancee (it's Russia ugghh) anyway, I noticed the petition requires my (USC) birth certificate but the instructions didn't say whether it has to be original or not. The appointment package says original but the I-129f doesn't mention it. Can I possibly just make a photocopy of the birth certificate and submit that with the petition or does it have to be a certified stamped copy? The problem is not the $40.00 for another one but there is a 30 to 60 day wait.

Thanks,

Do it yourself and read the guides here. You also don't have to download any forms you can get them all from USCIS. If you are in the U.S. they will send you up to five copies at a time of whatever you need. You can ask for more but only 5 at a time. I had "practice forms" and forms I just screwed up. So I ordered 15 I-129F's which comes with the biography forms 325's. I used some for my duplicate copies. Its absolutely free and they are up to date.

There's a bunch of other posts regarding this. Try giving the site a search. I think what people are doing is printing our 4 copies just to be safe. Better to have too much paper work than too little.

Guys, if you are in the U.S. you can get most of these forms in groups of five from the USCIS website. Theres a link there that says "forms by mail". The G-325'a come as a set of four pages with carbon paper between each sheet. Also you can be assured they are the right forms since they come straight from USCIS. There is no charge for any of these forms.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support
Hi Guys, ok trying to get a jump on things, so I am filling out the I-134 and I have 2 questions. Question 7 ask I am employed as or engaged in the business of_______ . I have recently (4 months) gotten a new job and therefore do not have a tax return for this job so do I list my last job here or my new job with the income from the new job even though I have no return? The next question is "I derive an annual income of" since I obviously can't list an income with no return to cross check with then do I list last years tax return income and the previous question as my last job? Does this make sense? Sorry if I confused anyone haha

Ok the next question is I have stocks and bonds with the folloing market value, as indicated on the attached list... do I just list the stock on a seperate paper or can I submit the statements?

Thanks guys

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about photos
I used to be a photo lab supervisor and most machines now can back date pictures :0) If you have them on an SD card take it to the phot lab, CVS, Walgreens, for example and hand it over to the guy/gal and ask them to do this for you, you can chose the date and it will print the date on the back when the pictures print. It is part of the printing system and they don't charge extra for this however you have to find someone that knows about this.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSpeeding transfer of case?
I don't know if any of you know about this, maybe I just missed it OR its not true however, I was reading a book at the library about "fiance and Marriage visas" and in the K-1 section this immigration lawyer writes "To try to speed the transfer of your USCIS file to a U.S. consulate, some couples have had luck by faxing a copy of their approval notice directly to the consulate. The consulate may then open a file for you, the immigrating fiance, and send the appropriate follow-up paperwork. Not all consulates will do this but it's worth a try. Of course, the consulate will not give final approval to your fiance visa until they've received official confirmation from the NVC-but by that time you'll hopefully be close to your interview date." Has anyone tried this?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSome help please decision to make
In Texas (I don't know about Ohio) you can go on medicaid for the child..which of course includes your wife because she is carrying the child. Prenatal care is covered in Texas through medicaid. You need to check with your state. The child after all is an American Citizen..or will be and all rights, benefits and privileges should be afforded to the child. After the baby is born you could purchase CHIPS or SCHIPS for the child. I think it runs 50.00 or less. Like I said check with your state. You wife would have to covered through private insurance or your employer.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhy did fees go so high this year?
AND I have heard that some fees will go up in 2010. Everything will go up! Yes it is expensive but it is not all at once. Its chuncks here and there. If you go the K-1 route you will need the petition fee, the mailing of the petition, copies of all the paperwork (which can get expensive), Mailing things from there to here, if she needs to travel for the medical and/or interview, then a hotel, plane tickets, medical fee, visa fee, if she is bringing her stuff with her, travel expenses from there to here. If she has a pet...those expenses also. Then your marriage fees, your fee for biometrics and AOS. Everything you need to get for her once you start you life together, removal of conditions, and finally naturalization if thats what she wants. Also all the other stuff she may need.UGGS? haha
My Natasha is in Moscow as we speak tomorrow is her medical and she will go visit the Bishop to get papers signed then she has thursday when she will sightsee and friday she has the interview...Money? I am so excited and can hardly wait to see her smiling face at the airport, money is the last thing on my mind... it is worth it to be with my Natasha!

You find it doubtful anything will pass? Obama will just sign an executive order, no need for congress. As how this will affect K-1? It won't, those of us who are legal and did it legally will get nothing those breaking the law will get amnesty so they can pay taxes to pay for obamacare so they can all be covered and tax the system so the country can go bankrupt just like California..sorry just venting

My Natasha and I did it ourselves with help from Visa Journey. We have just gotten her greencard. She is from St. Petersburg,RU. No just copies of the cards, however I did have text messages that I printed and of course many emails. I also had two statements for my cell phone showing two times I called for less than 10 minutes.
