PhilippinesVisa Journeyer's help
Condolences on your loss. (F) Understandably the man would feel great hurt in the case of his wifes miscarriage, and at a time of grief and sadness is easy to let the hurt out on one another. As trite as it may sound everything happens for a reason, and perhaps it just wasn't the right time at this time for her pregnancy...but it doesn't mean you won't be successful in the future. Love her and comfort her.

While american medicine and it's doctors may be some of the best on the planet, the health care system is seemingly out of control with so many insurance plans and premiums it is enough to make anyone crazy...not to mention the price of medications. We all want the best care for our loved ones without going bankrupt..it truly is a strain we all share.

God bless you both, my asawa is also diabetic..I know and share your pain, hang in there :)

PhilippinesMarried life is great
It doesn't bother us one bit, in fact we often laugh at their ignorance.
[/quote]

The wife and I occasionally catch others looking at us as if they are trying to figure out just what race my wife is. I agree with Bob, the ignorance is almost entertaining, and at those infrequent times the wife and I look at each other and laugh. I guess that we are so into our own world we rarely give a thought to what anyone else thinks. Age seems to be a factor, we are a middle aged couple and most assume we have been together for along time, so the curiosity doesn't last long.

I sure can understand that the midwest could be an uncomfortable place for mixed couples, but considering the midwest was largely responsible for giving Bush 2 terms, well, enough said...no offense intended to midwesterners. Most american males who have married a filipina, been through the visa process and imported our wives here share our unspoken secret. We have one of the finest women in the world, we love our wives very deeply and we really don't care at all who thinks what. We are proud of our filipina's, we have learned alot about the Philippines and we are proud of that too. :)

PhilippinesQuestions about online Filipina sites like FilipinaHeart and CherryBlossom.
There are many articles on Filipino culture if you google them up, a good place to start in understanding the culture. The only some-what stereo typing you can place on a filipina is that they are extremely family orientated, usually have a deep faith in God and are heartful and soulful.

If you consider yourself "all that" is best to let the filipina, her family and friends discover it on their own and develop their own appreciation for you. Nothing turns off filipinos more than a kano that is full of himself, not that you are. Being humble mixed with a true desire to learn about the Philippines will gain you more friends than enemies.

Online correspondence can be a blessing or a curse and it can take a while to find someone that you trust, so if you are serious about a filipina you would do well to get to know a bunch of them before you take the plunge as many are less than honest, but that is true about any country. I won't even comment on the sexuality of a filipina, as I find it demeaning and dis-tasteful, but a filipina is second to none when it comes to loving. Good luck on your hunt, but remember, you could be the prey. ;)

PhilippinesI-130 Sent 1-28-10 NOA1 Received 2-10-10, what's next?

Hello All,

Hoping that someone is in a similar situation that may have guidance or clues as to what's next during the I-130 process.

I mailed our I-130 Spouse petition on 1-28-2010 and received NOA1 on 2-10-2010.

Per USCIS.gov they state that it should be expected to recieve an appointment within 30 days for biometrics, getting close to the 30 day mark without any notice and was wondering what are the normal wait times for those who have filed from the Texas area.

If anyone has a good timeline to follow it would be much appreciated so we can both ease our minds about the ranges in time we've seen browsing the net (6 months to 2 years).

Also if this helps "Saw that there's a big difference between Permanent Residents/US Citizens' wait times when filing", I was born a US Citizen 'Fil/Am' and she's a Filipina.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hoi John.. I can only surmise you were married in phili and came home to file a cr-1. The 1-130 typically takes 5-6 months for approval, then you case file is sent off to the nvc for further processing. You kinda lost me on the 30 day biometrics thing..but at any rate your next move is to wait a few months to see if you are approved on the I-130. Would be a good time to start your timelime..most all who have completed the process have a timeline for you to check out, it will kinda give you a good idea what to expect. Best of luck on your I-130 approval, welcome to the journey. :)

Regards,
John

PhilippinesYou're lucky to have him

I met hundred of Filipinos in United States specifically California, Nevada, and Filipinas on internet I chatted with. Sometimes, I'm wondering how my other fellow Filipinos think or feel or handle about people who say you're lucky to have him once they found out about your status. I personally didn't dream of marrying an American, but a Briton man. Yes, I did date someone from London for four years. I broke up with him due to his perfectionist problem. For example: he told me how to sit, how to hold glass, spoon, teaspoon, don't burp like a cow, and so on! Of course, I appreciated he taught me how to be formal included how should I live my life. However, I get pretty little suspicious with women telling me HOW LUCKY I AM TO HAVE MY HUSBAND BECUASE HE BROUGHT ME IN UNITED STATES. Honestly, I become skeptical about women from my own country that some of them may not looking for genuine relationship, but take advantage of foreigner men looking for good Filipinas-we are known as good mother and wife.

Here is my questions:
1.) Do you believed in choosing partner that you have to be wise or just go with I may be lucky with him?
or
2.) What do you think of Filipina women that just looking for men on internet hoping to get lucky?

3.)Do you ever think it will affect our next generations if we get more bad Filipinos in US? If yes, are you willing to help the immigration someday to prevent this case?

I am sure there would be 1000 different opinions on your posted questions. For me, I found out that when you fall deep in love with someone, wisedom and common sense are sometimes ignored as one becomes blinded by love..in that case you would need some good luck. lol

A woman or man that uses the internet to con the next poor sucker into a less than honest relationship, in which they figure they can get ahead in life, indeed is a pretty rotten individual...and most likely will have a less than realistic success rate of hitting the "big time" with their mr./mrs. kano goodbar...the old addage "cheaters never win" often time prevails.

It seems immigration already makes it pretty clear what rules and regs. they expect from immigrants. Being allowed to immigrate to a new country after all is a priveledge, not a right. Don't really know what makes up a "bad filipino" but the more negative incidents brought to light to immigration may make even tougher requirements for future filipinos, or any other nationality for that matter.

2 widely believed myths, which get much more fan fare than they are worth are: that in America, all is the land of milk and honey and life is a total easy thing here.. the other being that every filipina is a sweet, loving devoted woman more beautiful than any other.. but some still think the moon is made out of cheese.

PhilippinesMy life is over....
Thrpeeoh,
You have shown great courage expressing your gut-wrenching hardships, I know every member here can feel your pain. There will always be 2 sides to every story, however, in this case, you seemed to have done everything a man can do to salvage a marriage. Sometimes the simpliest of questions can answer alot of questions. Does your wife tell you that she loves you? Does she act in a way that would reflect she does in deed care about the marriage? Do you feel you have done your best to honor your vows? If the marriage is just a battlefield, and you feel all of this just isn't right..then perhaps it is time to listen to your heart and let this one go. Many of us here have been there and done that..you are still relatively young and perhaps you just deserve better. Your wives behavior is erratic at best and has no place in a love based marriage. The constant stress can have health complications for both of you..There is no easy choices in a heartbreak..but as painful as it can be..sometimes it is easier just to cut your losses, admit you just don't get along..and heal in time to love again. I wish you every good thing in the future. :)

PhilippinesI want to Divorce my Husband & back to Phils.
Kiddy,
I understand both your situation and your husbands. The first few months of a new marriage can be, and often is a huge adjustment for both partners. It is not uncommon for all kinds of frustrations to get hot fast. There is often baggage in the previous relationships that seem unfair to a new marriage. My heart goes out to both of you. Try your best not to focus on the hurt but rather the reason the 2 of you married. Plz take Bob's advice and adjust status as soon as possible. I know it is very hard for you in this new place right now..take some deep breaths and try to see your way clear to change what you can and accept what you can not change. I kinda get the impression you love each other..If you BOTH work on it you may find it will work out just ok. I know many members here are wishing you the very best and I certainly do too! Hang in there Kiddy :)
